Hi! I saw that you were taking requests! Is it alright if I can request venture with reader that loves placing kisses all over their face? Hopefully this is alright with you if not feel free to ignore this!
'Kisses galore ⊹.(⸝⸝ ˆ ³(⁎˃ ᴗ ˂⁎)˚.
Venture (Overwatch x GN reader)
[Established relationship!]
Authors note!!! (;° ロ°); third....venture.... post......I have like 5 posts in total... well anyways!!! idc cuz i luv them! and i love YOUUUU AHH tysm for requesting this it was super fun to write i hope u like it !!!! also sorry its pretty short! I kinda wrote it on a whim wanting to post it before I went out so its not proof read either (Im actually so late rn its not even funny okay srsly gtg bye!)
Y’know that one tiktok trend that was popular last year where someone would be reapplying lipstick and then the camera would turn and its their s/o covered in kisses yea yea that’s just you guys all the time lol
In the beginning of your relationship they’d get all flustered and have this goofy grin on their face whenever you’d smother their face in kisses. Oh? And how do they react now? The exact same! Literally nothing has changed since the first time you’ve kissed them, they still giggle and look away. No matter how long its been they just can’t seem to get used to your affection
They could be hit by a bus going 200mph, in critical condition and one kiss on the nose from you would get them up and doing a little jig going yippee!
They might pretend to be annoyed or irritated but really that's just because they love playful banter and it’s pretty obvious how they feel about your kisses by the way they laugh and refuse to let you pull away
Their favorite moments with you are when you're laying over them somewhere enjoying each others company with your hands on their cheeks and your lips all over their face
They're pretty ticklish overall so kiss sessions usually turn into laughing fits
Although 99% of the kisses you share are all in good fun there are those times when they're sad or angry and you're kisses can't help but feel a bit more intimate and loving (please kiss their tears away!!!)
They appreciate you so much like they literally can't get enough of you. They cherish every kiss like it's the first and definitely act like it too. If you tell them they're blushing they'll deny it with their whole chest meanwhile looking like 🟥
“Augh! You’re suffocating me!” You and Sloane had been neglecting all your duties for the day in order to lay on the couch and bathe in the warm sunlight seeping through the windows. You both had been watching some random brainrot on their phone when you got bored and decided to pounce on them planting loving kisses all over their face. "Oh shut up" you playfully roll your eyes as you kiss them on the lips this time.
"One of these days I'm gonna die and you'll regret not listening to me" "Boo hoo" you giggled at their melodramatics deciding to pull away from them, but before you could you felt their hands tighten around you holding you in place.
"I mean... Dying in your arms doesn't sound so bad..."
"Yea yea whatever" You mumble happily as you lean down again pressing a kiss to their cheek.

Destiny: the year of Very Well Structured Things In Sets of 2
Defiance+Wish: The Sovs Mara and Crow, the Eliksni Misraaks and Eramis, and the Regular Ass Humans Devrim and Petra(PV counts as a regular-ass human she isn't a figure of prophecy or royalty in the reef she's a cop who's been promoted too much out of necessity)
Deep+Witch: The Truncated Heros Sloane and Eris, the Osmium OGs Xivu and Savathun, the Concerned Boss-Parents Zavala and Ikora, and the Wriggly Enablers Ahsa and Drifter (okay you got me) I mean the Nonhuman Guides Ahsa and Immaru
Lightfall: Osiris with no Sagira and Nimbus with no Rohan and Caiatl with no Recognizable Dad and the Witness with no Disciples and Chioma with no Maya and the Vex with no Chill the Living People of Neomuna with no Meatspace to live in. (The dreaming city curse will never end and the people on Neptune will never get to leave the matrix Im sorry but that's the way it is)
The story and themes for this year of Destiny are SO GOOD the writers have done SUCH A GOOD JOB. If making a tighter relationship between the expansion narrative and the seasonal narratives was one of the goals this year they fucking knocked it out of the park, I can't put any of these arcs into its own box because they have been knit together so sturdily. It's all one great narrative, one Very Big narrative, they haven't done it like this before!
(And Im so mad people couldnt stop shitting on Lightfall they are stoping themselves from seeing how good the WHOLE NARRATIVE IS they are probably gonna say come march/near TFS launch "uhh yeah the seasons were good i guees but maybe they shoulda worked harder on Lightfall I mean who even likes Nimbus" and for their Ignorance and Haterism I am sentencing them to reading part two of The Two Towers while they get attacked by Paper-Tube Ninjas and a broadcast system shouts at them 'YOU CANNOT HAVE THE VICTORIES IN RETURN OF THE KING IF FRODO AND SAM DIDNT KEEP WALKING ALL THE WAY TO MORDOR' for 100 hundred years.) (The link there is I didn't get the Point of that part of Two Towers when I first read it and assumed the whole would have been better without it. Obviously...I was wrong, and so are these clowns who think Lightfall has a bad story)
The name of the game this year is Resolution, Catharsis, Armistice, Acceptance. The structuring is so simple and so elegant and so well executed, the 2s, the 3s, the mirroring and the inverting and the unfathomable gloriousness of the victories personal and community and galaxy wide. There is no way to overstate the bitterness of Amanda's death, the relief of exhalation when Sloane retreats, the VINDICATION of Eris's vengeance.
You remember when Zavala 'discovered' Crow's former identity? How that was the crowning on-screen narrative jewel in destiny up to that point? What I am saying is EVERY ARC THIS YEAR IS AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN THAT BEAT AND DESERVES AS MUCH RECOGNITION FOR THE ARTISTIC ACHIEVEMENT OF SO MANY COMPLEMENTARY COMBOS PACKED INTO ONE EXPANSION STORY.
If Shadowkeep was the first sign of symptoms, if Beyond Light was trying to irradiate the disease, if Witch Queen was a tug of war with scar tissue, then Lightfall is the world after recovery and making peace with what will Never Be The Same, and the home and family that has been changed forever but is still Your Home and Your Family. We don't stop fighting but we also don't stop loving and growing and caring.
One last thing for my fellow Sjur copium addicts out there: Sloane's retreat was mirrored and inverted by Eris's victory, so for the complementary-ness of the story to continue, Amanda's death and Crow's subsequent emotional anguish over losing the person he fought with but who also saw him for who he really is will need to be mirrored and inverted by SOMEONE who Mara fought with but who also saw her for who she really is and I expect you will agree this is SCIENTIFICALLY ACCURATE reasoning that Sjur's comin back home.

Ben hargreeves x female!reader
this is kinda bad sorryyy kinda went off request sorry :((
Based in season 3 so spoilers! same tw as TUA reader cries
Hi 🥹 Could I request Ben Hargreeves x Reader where reader used to be in a relationship with the old Ben before he moved on into the afterlife and sparrow Ben catches on to their trauma and falls for reader and does everything he can to be good for them, I know it’s weirdly specific but I just thought it’d be cute 🥺
Luther has you thrown over his shoulder while Diego Lila and Five follow behind "Lila dont let him do this to me! i thought we where in love" you yell out making Lila "oh baby we are in love thats why im letting him do this"
Diego scoffs "why are you so nice to my little sister and not to me what is this?" he asks making Lila scoff back "look at her" she says poiting at your pouty face "I DONT WANNA SEE BEN" you yell out making Sloane look at you
"Y/n i dont know why you dont like Ben but you need to get over it-" she goes to say but is cut off by the door opening to the house "finally you oafs are here" Ben says
"Put y/n down" Allison scolds making Luther glare at her before putting you down, you quickly walk over to Allison ignoring Ben and let her lead you to the living room
When everyone is in the living room you walk over to Five before sitting down on the floor in front of him and putting your head on his thigh "i dont wanna be here" you whisper softly
Ben is talking to Fei and every once in a while his eyes shoot towards you, before he sends a glare to Five who is now playing with your hair "lover boy keeps glaring at me" Five tells you with a chuckle
You open your mouth to reply but are interupted by a "where is he?" "Viktor" someone says
An argument breaks out and Ben plops down on the couch next to Five "20 on the little one" Ben says "Ill take that action" Five replies before leaning down and placing a kiss to the top of your head and sending a smirk to Ben
The latter scoffs making your head turn to him before it quickly turns back around, hand squeezing your dress tightly "i know Harlan killed all our mothers"
You let out a gasp, free hand reaching for the first thing it can hold, which happens to be Ben's knee, his eyes shoot to your hand in shock before he reaches and holds onto your hand, squeezing softly with a soft look on his face "Viktor you didnt tell us, hes the reason we are in this and you lied to us.. to me about it" you ask, face filled with hurt
"y/n look thi-" Viktor starts but is cut off but you raising your hand that was squeezing your dress "just please dont Viktor"
Five looks from Viktor to you before seeing Ben holding your hand, Five sends a glare to Ben before he peels your hand out of Ben's and holds it in his own, he leans over to Ben and starts whispering "dont touch my sister, a version of you hurt her before im not gonna let you hurt her aswell" Five sneers before pulling you onto his lap, arms wrapping around you protectivly
You squeeze his hand softly and let him hold you "SHUT YOUR MOUTH" you hear Allison yell making you flinch in Fives arms "how are you doing this without saying i heard a rumor?" Five asks shocked
"just a little residual gift from Harlan" Allison replies
"Allison you need to stop" you gasp out looking at your sister choking your brother "ALLISON" you yell out when she doesnt stop, you jump up and throw your arm in the air, a vine shoots out and softly hits Allison making her lose focus and release Viktor
Five grabs onto your waist and pulls you inbetween him and Ben and when they notices Allison glaring at you they glare right back
Small time skip
You look at the kugelblitz "i could just make a box, no need to endanger Christopher i mean what if it goes wrong" you ramble "its like if it explodes the vines ill only feel a small burning in my veins, if its inside big C HE WILL DIE" you yell the last part, you start pacing "i mean we already lost so many people to this fuck fuck, we dont need to lose more"
Ben grabs your arm and his other hand grabs your face softly "Hey dollface calm the fuck down, everything is gonna work out just fine" he whispers and you melt into his touch, his face turns into shock, ever since you have gotten here you have barely even looked at him and now your melting in his touch
"Have you ever moves a nest of bees?" Sloane asks Lila scoffs "No because thats weird"
You step away from Ben "Lila you have remember when i summoned all those flowers and bee nests n you just threw one at me its probably like that" "its not like that at all dont give her ideas please" Sloane is quick to shut your idea down "kinda rude" you mutter before walking over to Diego, you manhandle his arms so he is holding you against his chest
"you couldve just asked me to move my arms you know that right? why are you and Lila like this?" Diego asks making you snort "its because Lila and i are soulmates, when this is over she and i shall marry"
"Thats true!" Lila says "Okay lets do this thing, i got a girl to wife up"
Diego lets go of you, he presses a quick kiss to your forehead and pushes you into Ben "she gets hurt im fucking killing you" Diego spits to Ben before he walks up to Grace who has just appeared
You burry your head into Ben's chest who holds onto you tightly "Look" he says while walking backwards until he hits the wall and is out of Grace's sight "I dont know what that other Ben did to you, but im not like him okay? Please give me a chance, i mean its the end of the fucking world, please give me chance" he begs softly "i can see that he hurt you but i would never hurt you" he confesses
Grace shoots fire in your direction and Ben goes to spin you around so his back is towards Grace but you break out of his grip, you put your arms to your side before pulling roots from the ground and wrapping her up fully in the roots, you throw her to Five who blinks them away
Ben grabs onto your wrist and spins you around "she couldve fucking hurt you" he scolds "but she didnt, see i can do things, im useful!" you beam making Lila yell "HELL YEAH YOU ARE" making Sloane scold her "focus!"
Christopher closes the Kugelblitz inside of him and Lila falls to the ground, you rush out of Ben's grip and run to Lila putting her head on your chest "fuck yeah love boobs in my face" Lila says with a smirk making you snort "OKAY YEAH ENOUGH THATS MY SISTER LILA" Diego yells "stop hitting on my sister why are you like this?" he asks her
Another small time skip
Everyone is now in the living room, people are dancing, Viktor is on the couch, Allison in the doorway, and y/n is laying on the floor surrounded by flowers and holding a bottle of soda, bees and butterflies flying around her
Footsteps approach her before someone lays down next to her "you not drinking?" Five asks her "no one of us idiots should stay sober" you tell him making him hum in agreement, he puts his arm around your shoulder "i love you, thank you for being here for me" Five says his words slurring a little
"i love you too little man" "I AM NOT LITTLE" Five yells out making you laugh "sure Five sure" you say before getting up, placing a kiss on his forehead
You walk outside the living room into a hallway and outside the door, you lay down in an empty field, the field fills with colorful flowers immediately
Its then a shockwave hits "I FUCKING TOLD THEM" you yell before running back towards the building, you run into Diego and Lila "Hotel hotel hotel" they yell out while pointing towards it the three of you run towards the hotel
"im done" you yell out when you enter the hotel, you throw yourself on the hard floor "leave me here to die!" you dramatically exlaim Ben walks up to you and sits down pulling your head onto his lap "so what now genius" he sarcastically asks Five "Paws off my sister, knock off, also that was your plan so its your fault" he fights
"NO FIGHTING" you yell "you guys shouldve just let me used my vines but nooo nobody ever listens to y/n because people cant be pretty and smart acording to you, you guys are all just.. just y/nphobic?" you ask "yeah y/nphobic" you say before getting up and sitting at the bar
You listen to everyone and when Ben and Diego start fighting in another language you turn around "thats kinda hot" you loudly say making Lila agree
Ben turns to look at you with a smirk and he walks up to you "yeah no" he is quickly stopped by Luther "not my sister" he says "SAYS THE GUY WHO IS DATING MY SISTER" Ben yells out
"can you guys stop" you say before walking over to Ben and put your head on his chest, he softly holds onto you and places a kiss on the top of your head
"can we all just be nice to eachother? we are all gonna die" you ask them "please" you beg softly, voice cracking tears filling your eyes, Ben softly rocks you "dont cry flora" he whispers
Ben walks backwards and sits down on a chair pulling you to straddle his lap, you put your head in the crook of his neck
Luther clears his throat "we've uh got a little announcement to make" "we are engaged!" they finish together, you giggle against Ben's neck "the world is ending lets get married!" you mock softly making Ben smirk
Its then Klaus walks up "KLAUS!" you yell getting up from Ben's lap and jumping onto your brother "I thought you died!" you say making klaus laugh "IM IMMORTAL" he yells spinning you around "Okay nathan young" you say making Klaus laugh
"yeah not to interupt the reunion but can i have my girl back?" Ben asks looking at you and Klaus "yeah ofcourse benerino!" Klaus says carrying you over to Ben "WAIT YOUR GIRL?" Klaus asks dropping you "OUCHIE" you yell out with a pout "Klausie why do you hate me?" you ask
Ben walks up to you and holds his hand out for you before pulling you up and dragging you back to the chair and onto his lap again "touch her again and ill kill you okay?" Ben says to Klaus making you slap his shoulder "be nice thats my favorite kinda gay sibling" you tell Ben making him lift his hands in the air "sorry doll"
"you gotta be nice to my family" you say before letting yourself fall from Ben's lap "wait why did you bring dad?" you ask klaus with a pout "We dont like that guy"
Ben goes to reach out for you but Five sends him a glare and blinks to you before blinking you both to a chair
Time skip to the buffalo room on the other side
When you get separated from Diego and Lila you go to find them, you end up in the lobby where you fall to your knees and you start crying, you hear loud footsteps run into your direction before you are pulled into someones arms "I got you doll, let it all out" Ben whispers
"Its too much Ben its too much" you sob out holding onto him "i know angel i know" he says holding onto you tighter "its almost over, i promise you, my love, and when this is over i hope you will let me show you how good we would be together"
Diego walks up behind Ben "y/n whats wrong?" he asks, you go to reply but only sobs come out "shes overwhelmed" Ben tells him "Its fine i got her" he continues making Diego nod at him before he walks back to Lila
Its then the ceiling smashes, Ben pushes you so you slide and land next to Allison, Five starts yelling about stars and they all get on one, when the life starts draining from everyone you get up, tears still rolling down your cheeks "im not losing him again" you whisper before using your powers to find a apple seed inside reginalds stomach, you focus on it growing
Reginald falls to the ground with a tree growing from his mouth, you rush over to Ben and pull his head to your chest "are you okay?" you ask him, Ben just smiles before he pushes his head up and just as his lips are about to hit yours you are all teleported
You frown and walk out of the elevator only to be pulled in someones arms "IM ALIVE!" Luther yells while squeezing you, you sniffle tears dried to your cheek, you slap Luther "how dare YOU DIE ON ME" you ask before bursting into tears again "i thought i lost you you dumb oaf"
Luther looks around shocked, Ben walks up and gets me out of Luther's arms "Hey flora its okay" Ben says while stroking your hair, Diego and Lila walk up to you "we are leaving, you wanna come with us?" Lila asks "we can finally get married!" she beams making you giggle "no you guys go ahead" you say
Diego frowns "you gonna go with Viktor or Five?" he asks making you shake your head "i would like to go with Ben if he is okay with that?" you ask looking up at Ben whose face breaks into a smile "really? course im fucking okay with that my little angel" he says before lowering his head and pressing his lips on yours
"NO THATS MY WIFE" Lila yells "y/n your cheating on me now?" you hear Lila's voice fade and Diego scoff
"stop sucking faces with my sister" Five says making you pull away from Ben "oops" you softly say making ben chuckle
"Listen Ben, you hurt my sister and i will personally be the cause of your death okay? and ill make it look like an accident" Viktor threatens making you shiver in Ben's hold "Im not gonna hurt her, she means the world to me" he says before he starts pulling you with him
"Lets get started on our new life Flora"

reader and Ben are teenagers in the flashback, sorry if the last guardian’s weapon is wrong lol
     Flashback
The mission alarm sounds, pulling you from your peaceful nap. Really? Can’t these people not commit a crime when I’m trying to nap? Getting up from your boyfriend's bed, you walk down the hall as fast as your still sleepy self can trying to get to your bedroom to change into your mission suit. In your room, you throw on your suit and zip up your boots while Ben bangs on your closed door and yells to hurry up. “Okay, I’m ready asshole,” you say throwing the door open with a smile. “You should've been ready earlier,” he says, grabbing your hand and dragging you down the hallway, the stairs, and finally out the door. Walking down the street with Ben, Alphonso, and Chris, toward the bank where a robbery with hostages. Reginald said that the others could stay back because it wouldn't be a hard job to handle and that the four of you could use some help with working together. Pogo did not like this plan stating that too many things could go wrong with there only being four of you but Reggie ignored him. “Maybe he just doesn't like us,” Alphonso jokes with you. “Yeah, maybe he wants us gone because we’re so annoying. But that doesn't explain--” “Y/n, please take this seriously,” Ben interrupts you and Alphonso’s jokes before you all walk up the steps to the bank and make your grand entrance.
“You four have thoroughly disappointed me. Do you call that a mission? You four were utter buffoons making the Sparrow Academy look like amateurs,” Reginald lectures you in the living room. “And now look what happened to your brother and ‘boyfriend’ is hurt. Can you explain yourself?” he continues making you increasingly annoyed. “He wouldn't be hurt if you would've listened to Pogo and let the entire team go,” you exclaim at the old man. Getting off the sofa you go to the infirmary to check on Ben. Knocking on the wall you wait for Ben to look up from the book you had recommended. Ben liked reading the little notes you made in the margins and seeing what sections you liked. Normally he would never read a sappy romance book but seeing the way you would react to what the characters did made him want to learn all he can on how to make you giggle and smile like that. Setting his book down on his lap revealing his bandaged cheek, he motioned you in before leaning up and adjusting his pillow before laying back down. “So, how does your face feel,” you ask sitting on his cot and holding his hand. “My cheek hurts, my nose hurts, my eye hurts, everything on my left side hurts. But, the meds Grace gave me are working I think,” he says trying to smile at you but only being able to smile with the right half. “...I'm sorry. It's my fault, I shouldn't have turned around and left you to deal with the last guy, I should’ve taken care of him when I had the chance,” you say starting to ramble. “Hey, it’s okay. I lived I’m going to be okay,” he says squeezing your hand. “Do you think it's gonna look cool when it heals?” Ben asks lightening the mood. “It’s gonna be so badass.”
     Present
You, Sloane, and Five had managed to corral the guardian into the laundry room. Hiding behind a line of washing and drying machines, you attempt to create a plan. “You’ve hit him with your ax five times. He should be dead by now,” Ben says to Five. “The armor. It’s like hitting cement,” Five says to the group. “There’s a space between the backplates,” Sloane informs the group. “We need to get behind him.” “I can do it. I can just walk up the wall a drop behind him and then boom, done,” you tell the group. “No, there is no way in hell you’re doing that,” Ben says firmly. “Oh really? You aren't the boss of me, asshole,” you reply making Ben groan in frustration. Beginning to crawl over to the wall you’re stopped when Sloane gently grabs your ankle. Going back to your hiding spot next to Sloane, she then says “Let’s kill this thing,” before leaping over the barricade with Five following after her. Sloane runs around to try and get behind the guardian but the guardian throws a knife that slices her arm open. Five appears and tries to hit it again but is bitch-smacked and knocked to the ground. Standing you run around to the guardian and jump on its back, distracting it from Sloane and Five. You and the guardian wrestle around for a bit; you trying to find some skin so that you can sink your fangs into it as your nails try to scratch it. The guardian soon gets the upper hand and throws you to the ground hard. It stands over you growling and raising its sword and then plunging it into your stomach. As you let out a bloodcurdling scream, Ben finally joins the fight, using his tentacles to restrain the guardian. His tentacles don't restrain it for long, the guardian slices through them causing Ben to wail in pain and the guardian to set his sights on him. Five then uses all of his strength to get up and strike between the backplates.
The guardian collapses falling face down with Five’s ax still in his back. Rolling over you see Ben and give him a weak smile, letting him know you were going to be okay. Sloane helps you stand, her arm around your waist while one of your arms around her neck. She brings you over to Ben, where he immediately holds you close, head buried in your neck. “You’re so fucking stupid, but you’re my idiot,” he says looking you in the eyes smiling. “And you’re such an asshole, but you’re my asshole,” you say pulling him in for another hug, giggling. “We should go to the lobby,” Five says out of breath. “You okay to walk?” he asks nervousness laced in his voice. “Yeah, I think I'm good,” you say lifting your shirt to look at the almost healed wound.
Meeting in the lobby with the other Umbrellas, you see Klaus on the floor being picked up by his siblings. “You look like hell,” Klaus says after Five approaches him. “Why don’t you try killing a guardian?” he replies sarcastically. “We just did,” Viktor says gesturing to Lila and Allison. “So did we,” you say, checking your wound and seeing no trace of it. “Klaus, I thought you were dead,” Sloane says worriedly. “Yes, yes I'm alive and amazing, despite Dad’s attempts to bash my brains in, but tearful reunion later,” Klaus responds worrying you and the others. “What you guys need to know now right now is that… Dad killed Luther. And locked me out of the tunnel and he rang that stupid bell!” he finishes. Seeing Reginald you and your family start towards him. “What's your plan, old man?” Five asks walking toward him with his arms out. “We don’t have time for this,” Reginald responds quickly. “You killed Luther!” Sloane confronts her father, holding her hurting side. “I had no choice. You refused to come together as a team,” he says. “All of your stupid myths and stories. There were never seven bells or Norsemen. You brought us here to die!” Ben exclaims finally standing up to his father, making you kind of proud. “That’s not so. Somewhere in this hotel is the key to resetting the universe. We just need to find the sigil!” Reginald says holding his journal. “I don’t care about your sigil! None of us do,” Sloane yells pain laced in her voice.
“We barely survived that guardian with his stupid helmet and his sickle!” Diego joins. “The guardian we killed had an ax,” Viktor quietly adds. “Ours had a sword,” you add. “There’s one left,” Diego and Lila say in unison looking at each other. “We have to go after it,” Sloane vengefully states. “Because that worked so well the first time,” Ben says assholishly. Five goes to the balcony and looks down at the team. He’s probably annoyed with their arguments or he’s going off to find the guardian himself. “Hey, I found the sigil! It’s on the--” Five yells before the final guardian burst through the ceiling, landing on the balcony and cutting off Five’s arm. The guardian lands before you, growling at the sight of you and your family. The guardian first attacks Klaus, slicing into his stomach with his kusarigama. The guardian then throws some smoke bombs at some of the team, causing them to fall immediately. Standing with Ben as the guardian winds up to throw his kusarigama again, Ben throws you to his side, hitting your head on the hard tile. Luckily he was only hit with the iron weight at the end and not the blade. Diego then stands to fight, dodging one attack but then getting hit by the rest. The guardian wraps the chain around his arm and goes to slice him, however, Diego moves just in time to avoid the blow. He then starts landing blow after blow to the guardian’s side and back, before being smacked down by the growling guardian.
Sloane then stands in front of the guardian. Just as it goes to stab her she uses her powers to stop it, the metal armor creaking loudly. Sloane’s powers aren't enough and soon fade out, just as the guardian starts to stab its kama into Sloane, Luther grabs its arm and says “Nobody hurts my wife, you son of a bitch.” Luther then throws the guardian backward, it flies through the air, slamming into the ground near the stairs. Laying on the floor you start to sit up, helping Ben as you watch Luther stand up to Reginald and say his final goodbye to Sloane. The guardian starts to reanimate, Five tells everyone that the sigil is on the floor while Reginald tells everyone to find a star. Rushing over to an unoccupied star, Reginald grabs your arm and pulls you. “Not you,” he says firmly as he tightens his grip on your arm, pulling you away. The rest of the team goes and stands on a star, Allison goes to stand on one and is told the same thing. “No. Not you,” he says still holding your arm as your tired legs give out under you, leaving you hanging by your arm. Five walks down the balcony, what’s left of his arm tied off. The guardian reanimates and puts his mask back on, covering the nasty cockroach-infested face, and prepares to fight again. Five and Allison exchange looks as the guardian swings his kusarigama. Five teleports to the final star and electricity shoots out, connecting all the siblings and guardian.
The beam of electricity burns a hole through the guardian, knocking it backward and finally killing it causing the guardian to disintegrate, leaving the armor behind as cockroaches scurry out. Reginald still has a tight hold on your arm as spotlights shine down on your siblings causing them all to strain and groan. The hotel starts to transform before your eyes, the hotel turns a neon gold color as the insides morph into a platform with gold lines all around. The desk behind you turns around and Reginald pulls you along with him to the new high-tech desk. Reggie starts tapping on the dome screens, one hand now wrapped around your wrist, tightly. “This wasn't part of the deal,” Allison steps in and says. “You dipshit! You’re hurting them!” you yell, biting down on Reginald’s hand. Reginald responds to you by slamming you on the floor repeatedly. Shit, I think this is my new thing. Repeatedly slamming your head into the ground, you look toward Ben, watching the life be sucked out of him. After Reginald feels you are no longer a threat he stops the banging, giving you one kick to the head before going back to the dome screens. Allison stands shocked at the sight, not knowing what to do.
“He killed Luther,” Viktor strains. “He tried to kill Klaus. He won’t stop until we’re all dead,” Five adds. Sitting up you look down at the pool of your blood dazed hearing the screams of your family as the energy powers up. “Okay, you need to stop!” Allison urges. “I’m almost done. And when I am, you and I will get what we came here for,” Reginald concludes. “No, you’re killing them!” she shouts at the old man. “Everything in life has a price,” he says as their screams get louder and particles fly off their bodies. Allison tries to use her powers to make Reginald stop but it somehow doesn't work. “Allison,” you weakly whisper. Getting her attention, you mouth to “get the kusarigama” and make a beating gesture. Allison grabs the kusarigama and with the kama cuts Reginald’s head in half, revealing non-human insides and dark green blood. The spotlights release your family, leaving them worse for wear. A faint call-like sound is heard and Allison goes towards the sound finding a button. “Allison… Allison, don’t touch that button. We don’t know what it does,” Five says out of breath and strained. “Allison, stop!” Viktor yells, getting ready to use his powers on her. “Do you trust me?” Allison asks Viktor. Viktor powers down, making the others protest. Allison presses the button and the room distorts and goes black.
Waking up, you’re still in the hotel, only in the elevator. Waking up with your head in Ben’s lap, you sit up and look around not finding Allison or Sloane in the elevator. Everyone stands up, you all wait for the elevator to stop, not saying a word. The elevator finally stops and the door opens and you all step out. Ben gently holds your hand leading you out, taking caution given that his father tried to kill you not even five minutes before. “Cool,” Lila laughs looking at a bust of Reginald with Viktor. “Luther?” Viktor says seeing a smaller Luther exit the elevator. Viktor then walks over to him and jumps in his arms, overjoyed at seeing his previously deceased brother. The Umbrella’s cheer over Luther’s return. As they celebrate Ben looks at your head, the wounds starting to heal like magic. Smiling he places a kiss near one of the many cuts and bruises on your face. “Holy shit, my body!” Luther exclaims. “Wait. I gotta show Sloane,” he says looking for her. “I got my arm back,” Five says looking down at his once missing arm. “This is so cool. W-wait. Where’s Sloane?” Luther asks alarmed. “Oh, she was, uh… She was right behind me--,” Klaus says as Lila interrupts him “When Allison hit the bloody button.” “She’s gone too,” Diego adds. “You know, I don't know about you guys, but I have not felt this good in years,” Klaus says walking aimlessly.
“Does anyone know where the hell we are?” Ben says holding your waist and looking intently at your almost healed cuts. “The hotel. Or at least this is where it used to be,” Lila responds. “I think the old man did it. I think he reset the universe,” FIve says shocked. Lila exclaims that Diego got his fingers back causing you to look at Ben a little closer. “Holy shit babe. You’re scar,” you say awestruck. Luther continues to shout for Sloane and then threatens Five as Ben touches his cheek, not feeling the indention of his scar. As he feels for his scar he notices something else. “Where’s the sparrow?” he asks feeling where his Sparrow Academy tattoo was. Looking down at your wrist you still find the sparrow tattoo. “Okay, screw this,” Five says as he tries to teleport away but fails to do. “Something’s wrong,” he says looking toward the group. “That’s right. You’re about to get your ass kicked,” Luther says both hands on Five, ready to kick his ass. “Yeah, kick his ass,” Diego says excitedly. “No, you moron. My power,” he explains, the last part you couldn't hear. Diego then takes out one of his knives and trying to spin it but fails, the knife falling out of his hands. “That’s not good.” Everyone then tries to use their powers and everyone fails to do so, except for you, your fangs still intact and healing still there. “How do we get them back, idiots?” Ben asks annoyed. No one answers his question. Luther leaves to go find Sloane and Klaus goes after him. “We’re out bitches,” Ben says as you two walk away to go do something.
“We can go on our vacation now,” Ben says walking with you, swinging your arms. “Where are you gonna take me?” you say as Ben spins you around. “I was thinking Paris. Ya know we could even live there. I mean, new timeline--universe new us,” he says smiling as you keep walking, passing by a streetseller. “So it's a plan then? We’ll move to France and live out our days?” he asks, stopping in front of a motel. “Okay, settle down, let's just start with a vacation there, then we’ll see how we feel,” you say, facing him and fixing his jacket. Walking inside the rundown motel, Ben pays for a room and gets the key. Walking into the room you immediately throw all of your clothes off and start to get in bed, snuggling under the sheets waiting for Ben. He stands at the sink looking in the mirror, touching where his scar had been just 20 minutes ago. “I think we can start over,” Ben says to your almost asleep self. “Yeah? No more playing superheroes?” you reply eyes closed laying down. “Yeah, be normal people for a while.” Feeling his weight on the bed, you open your eyes and look at him, seeing him facing you. Leaning down he places a soft kiss on your lips. “I promise you, we’ll be a normal family from now on. A-and if I ever break that promise, you’re allowed to beat me up,” he whispers almost in tears. “I’m proud of you,” you say still looking him deeply in the eyes changing the topic. “I’m proud, you finally did it. You stood up to Reggie and looked damn good doing it,” you say smiling and giggling. “T-t-thank you,” Ben sniffles as he starts to cry. Sitting up you comfort him, holding him close to your chest, rocking back and forth.
Waking up the next morning, Ben and you gather your meager things together and get dressed to go on your next (normal) adventure. Catching a taxi to the airport, Ben starts rambling about all the things he wants to do and see. The only other time I’ve seen him this happy was on our wedding day. “And don’t worry about how we’re gonna pay for all this stuff,” Ben says confusing you and worrying the driver. “Because I got this,” he finishes, holding up Reginald’s debit card, grinning like an idiot. “Do you really think he won’t notice when we’re spending thousands of dollars?” you reply smiling and grabbing the card to put in your pocket. “As if he’d care,” Ben replies, continuing to talk about all the places he’s going to take you and all the sights you’re going to see while he wraps you in his arms.

Tumblr media
- mod sloan
Butting in like i always do since it's my male right in this pride month with mine. Most of my jeffs are trans and bi so! Specifics
- Dally is something and biromantic. He doesn't like to think about his gender even though in the server i joke about it, he goes by he/him but if you use she/her he's not gonna correct you but also going to stare at himself in the bathroom mirror almost ripping off the sink.
- Grease is transmasc and bisexual, as a bonus he's also canonically a dad!
- RRH is the same as Grease, transmasc and bisexual and also canonically a father. Which makes it that i have two transmasc deadbeat dad jeffs. Don't know what to do with this realization honestly (ask me about it)
- JD is pansexual and gnc! He doesn't care about gender at all and doesn't worry about how he's presenting.
- Tulpa and the system are unlabeled! They don't really worry about how they present or what they are attracted to. And they're young, so they don't really care about it. Any pronouns work for Tulpy
-Raden is also gnc and aroace! He's the sexiest mfer on this earth
-mod noah
Nathan is GAY gay as hell he has at least four rainbows on him at all time in the form of patches or pins. He's cis and he/him but you can barbie doll him into a pretty pink dress if you want
Pirate is bi and ace but he's like, twelve and hasn't figured that out yet. In his 20s he has a gender crisis but don't worry about it he's totally fine and normal
AJ is gay but has been with women in the past. He's cis but really gnc. He owns skirts and heels, is pretty good with makeup and has probably done drag in the past. His gender doesn't bother him he just does what he feels like
Darcie is trans and gay. He grew up in rural catholic Ireland in the 70s then got eeby deeby'd into the shining hotel so he only recently learned what the word transgender means. He's also homophobic sometimes but it's okay because it's funny
Tino is pansexual, aromantic and intersex. Despite his whole love theme and the amount of relationships he's had he really does not care about the whole thing, it's just a tool to him. Tino will respond to any pronouns but if you ask him what ones he prefers he'll tell you to figure it out on your own
Eddy is aro/ace and cisgender. He doesn't really understand the concept of romantic love and doesn't feel sexual attraction. He's happy with just having really close friends!! :)
BONUS ROUND: Darcie and Louise have four other siblings. One of them, Sean, is bi :)
BONUS BONUS ROUND: Pirate's future au roommate Steve is bi too but he's a COWARD and refuses to leave the closet. I want to hurt him.
-Mod CC
. Squishy is gnc! Rn he doesnt really understand romantic attraction but in his adult life he comes out as gay! Only romantic bc he's stuck with a 15 yo mindset forever
. Kipri is nonbinary and wlw!! Also her father Marcel is pansexual and kisses AJ on the mouth
. Frenchie is queer but it doesn't really matter what exactly how because he bites >:(
. Mike is nonbinary pansexual!
About CC's bonus: i shipped steve and pirate before it was canon 😎
-Mod Kim 🧢 Hi! Mod ez finishing out this round with his characters sexualities! At the very last minute too lol - Andy is GAY he is PAINFULLY gay and he is very repressed about it. If I brought him to a pride parade he would start crying. - His brother Drew is bisexual and in a polyamorous relationship.  - Cas is bi! He doesn’t figure this out for a while though because he’s dumb as hell and forgot that was an option. he’s like i can’t be gay? I like girls? duh? and everyone is like cas i swear to fucking god Shockingly, those are my main lgbt jeffs, with most of my others being straight or unlabeled. Bonus content, RT is straight but would love pride month because he wants to ally as hard as possible.

Soft in Love Part 2
A Gwilym Lee x Student!Reader Fic
Tumblr media
Summary: Y/N is an acting student in her last semester of college. When a professor unexpectedly can’t make it for the senior capstone class, a very famous (and handsome) substitute is called in. When they connect, they face a few challenges.
Word Count: 2.7k

A/N: Hope you all enjoy this next part! Sorry it’s taken a little longer than usual, I’ve been pretty busy at work.
Warning(s): None! Well, more pining, but hey, y’all asked for this.
Part 1
Part 2 here we go!!!
That night, you went to Sloan’s for pizza and a movie. Since you lived on campus as part of your scholarship, you tended to hang out at Sloan and Andrew’s apartment once classes were over and homework was done. You had a room to yourself, but it wasn’t spacious, so the three of you normally were at their shabby, typical New York apartment with little space and even less furniture.
“So, what should we watch?” you wondered as you plopped down on the couch.
“How about Bohemian Rhapsody?” Sloan suggested, wiggling her eyebrows at you. “Y’know, so you can really see Gwilym in action?”
Andrew groaned. “Come on, Sloan, we’ve teased her enough.”
“What?” she shot back. “They were really connecting.”
“Connecting?” you questioned. “We barely said two words to each other.”
You had neglected to tell them about running into your substitute in the library. You were keeping that moment to yourself. It felt like something private, even though it was perfectly innocent. You wanted to keep it in your heart. For now, at least.
“All that eye contact,” Sloan continued. “It was like Edward and Bella in there.”
“If it was like Edward and Bella, he’s more likely to murder me than anything,” you retorted.
“Edward doesn’t kill Bella!” she argued.
“He turns her into a vampire!” Andrew pointed out. “That’s the same thing!”
“No it isn’t!”
“Yes it is!”
“Okay, Jacob!”
“Guys!” you interjected. “If we talk anymore about Twilight, I’m going to kill myself. Let’s just pick a movie.”
“I still vote for Bohemian Rhapsody,” Sloan said. “Y/N should see at least one thing our new professor is in.”
“I think we should watch a classic,” Andrew replied. “I haven’t watched Casablanca in a while.”
“One vote for Bohemian Rhapsody, one vote for Casablanca,” she said, then looked at you. “Would you like to cast a vote, or add a contender?”
You thought for a moment, but you already knew what you were going to pick. You just wanted to give Andrew the illusion of having a chance. You tapped your chin with your forefinger.
“I’m gonna go with…” you paused. “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
“Oh, come on!” Andrew mock complained. Then he smiled. “Alright, I’m gonna order the pizza.”
“We’ll start the movie,” Sloan assured him.
As she picked up the remote, you considered telling her about the library. You weren’t sure why Sloan should be allowed this information and not Andrew, but you’d noticed he had sort of drifted from you while you were dating Daniel. Now that you and Daniel were broken up, Andrew was friendlier than before even. It made you a little confused. And the distance really hurt you.
But you looked at Sloan and thought about what she had said so far. You didn’t think she would tease you about the library, but she also would likely turn it into something it wasn’t. She had a tendency to gas you up for things that were hardly ever a big deal in reality. So you decided not to tell her. The moment would remain just yours. And Gwilym’s, of course.
The movie began, with the pizza arriving about half an hour in. You wouldn’t call yourself a huge Queen fan, but you liked their hits. You admired the movie’s aesthetic, but you especially admired Gwilym’s performance. He looked so cool with the curly hair and the seventies clothes. It was rather unlike the man you’d met earlier that day. Not that Gwilym didn’t look cool, he just wasn’t as glam. At least, not on that level.
When the movie finished after the Live Aid scene, you had gotten a little emotional. You wiped your burning eyes and sniffled.
“So, what’d you think?” Sloan asked, switching the television off.
“It was good,” you choked out.
“Oh my God, Y/N, you’re such a sap,” Andrew joked.
“Shut up!” you returned. “I just have feelings. There’s nothing wrong with that!”
He laughed. “Nah, I guess you’re right.”
You stretched out on the couch, nudging his thigh playfully with your toe as you giggled and yawned. He smiled back at you.
“I’m beat,” you sighed. “I think I’ll head back to my dorm.”
“You know you’re always welcome to stay here,” Andrew said.
“I know,” you replied. “But I don’t like to intrude. Plus, your couch is lumpy.”
“You could take my bed,” he offered.
Something about the way he didn’t look at you when he said it rubbed you the wrong way. If Andrew had feelings for you, you wished he would either say it or get over it, but not say things like that to leave you wondering. You knew it could never be that way between you, so you hoped for the latter.
“I’d rather be in my own bed,” you said, keeping your tone light.
You got off the couch and stretched again. As you put your backpack on, you thanked them for the pizza and then bid them goodnight.
Sloan closed the door behind you and looked at her roommate.
“Could you be any more obvious?” she said. She continued by doing her best Andrew impression. “Stay here, sleep in my bed, suck my dick.”
“Oh, fuck off,” he returned, disappearing in to his room.
You headed back to campus, which was only a few blocks away, your mind racing. Everything from your chance library meeting with Gwilym to whatever the hell had gotten into Andrew was swirling around in your mind.
As you passed the coffee shop closest to campus - frequented by mostly students and faculty, you spotted Gwilym though the window. You watched him as he pored over the book you had recommended, sipping his drink with something of a refined air about him. The temptation to go in and say hello was overwhelming. You were just so drawn to him for some reason. But you decided against it, remembering the way Sloan had compared you both to the cringiest couple perhaps ever written. Showing up suddenly at the coffee shop after one earlier chance meeting seemed very stalker or Edward Cullen-ish. Even if it was genuinely a coincidence. With a sigh, you moved along.
Gwilym lifted his eyes from the page he was reading and looked around. He felt as if there was someone he knew nearby, but as his eyes scanned the room, he saw only strangers. Movement by the window made him look out, but he missed who or whatever it was that created the motion. He blinked in that direction, his mind drawing up - for some reason - an image of you standing there.
Something resembling disappointment crossed over his heart, but he pushed it down. He didn’t need to be wishing to see you anywhere outside of class. His phone ringing brought a welcome distraction.
“Hello?” he said, picking it up.
“Gwilym, hi!” chirped the voice of Dr. Bennett. “I just wanted to check on you and see how the first day went.”
“You’ve just given birth, and you’re worried about me?” he returned. “Emily, that’s ridiculous.”
“Don’t scold me, Gwil,” she answered lightly. “How’d the class go?”
“If you must know, it went just fine,” he told her. “I’ve been introduced to everyone. You have a very talented class there.”
“Excited as I am to have my son, I am a bit bummed I won’t get to teach them,” she agreed. “But, I’ve left them in very capable hands. I’m glad it’s going smoothly.”
“It really is,” he said.
“What do you think of Y/N?” she asked.
His chest tightened.
“She seems like a lovely girl,” he said stiffly.
“She’s a real star,” she went on.
“I haven’t heard her sing yet, but from the way you and Dr. Curtis talk, I feel I should have a handkerchief on me or something.”
She laughed. “She’ll impress you I’m sure. Be careful there.”
He paused, wanting to know more about what she meant. It was an odd thing to say about a student. Was she joking? Was she giving him some warning about who you were? Were you not what you seemed? He wanted answers, but decided to ignore it entirely. That was the best way to deal with something like this, in his opinion.
“How are you and the baby?” Gwilym asked, desperate to change the subject.
“Perfect, so far,” she said. “Just ready to get home.”
“I’m sure.”
“Hey, Gwil,” she said.
“Yeah?”
“Please keep me updated on everything,” she requested. “I’ll come and see the show at the end of the semester, but I want to know how everything comes together.”
“Will do,” he promised.
“Thanks,” she said warmly.
“You get some rest now,” he said.
“Will do,” she replied, and he heard the smile in her voice.
They said goodbye and hung up. Gwilym’s mind still reeled with her warning. Be careful there. Be careful of what, exactly? Perhaps it was better if he never knew.
On Thursday, you showed up to class early, as usual. The auditorium was empty except for Gwilym. Your heart rate quickened as you approached him.
“Morning,” you said brightly.
He turned his head and smiled at you. “Hello, Y/N. You’re early.”
“I’m always early,” you said with a shrug. “How’s the book?”
“I’m only three chapters in, but it is interesting,” he replied. “Fond as I am of Shakespeare’s plays, it’s his poetry that really gets me.”
“Oh, really?” you wondered.
He nodded. “Yes. Poetry and songs I think are the most intimate forms of writing. The authors put their feelings out and wrap them up in beautiful language. And somehow, that makes others feel it. As if it were their own. If that makes any sense.”
You pondered his words a moment. You thought of every time you’d sung in your car at the top of your lungs, the words of a song just punching you right in the heart.
“It makes sense,” you said. “I didn’t realize you were so into that stuff.”
“There’s a lot about me that may surprise you, Y/N,” he said.
You met his gaze, searching for the meaning behind that. He cut his eyes away before you did, clearing his throat.
“Would you like to get started?” he asked. “We can begin with your solo, ‘The Boy Next Door’.”
“Sounds good,” you agreed. “Want me to sing acapella or play piano?”
“You sing, I’ll accompany you,” he returned.
“You play piano?” you questioned. “You certainly are full of surprises.”
The teasing tone felt a bit unfamiliar to you. Were you flirting with him? If you were, was it wrong?
“I play piano, but not very well,” he replied humbly. “I can play a simple tune like this.”
You smiled as you both took the stage, you stopping in the center and he taking a seat on the piano bench. You waited for his cue, and then when he began, you opened your mouth and began to sing.
“The moment I saw him smile
I knew he was just my style
My only regret is we’ve never met
Though I dream of him all the while
But he doesn’t know I exist
No matter how I may persist
So it’s clear to see, there’s no hope for me
Though I live at fifty-one-thirty-”
Gwilym missed a note on the piano and stopped, bringing you to a halt as well. You shot him a questioning look.
“Sorry,” he said. “I’m not good enough to turn the pages on time.”
“Oh, is that all?” you teased. “Here, I’ll stand next to the piano and turn the pages for you.”
“I’m very much obliged,” he returned.
You walked over and stood to the side, looking expectantly at him.
“From ‘so it’s clear,’” he told you.
“So it’s clear to see, there’s no hope for me
Though I live at fifty-one-thirty-five Kensington Avenue-”
You turned the page.
“And he lives at fifty-one-thirty three.
How can I ignore the boy next door
I love him more than I can say
Doesn’t try to please me
Doesn’t even tease me
And he never sees me glance his way…”
You stole a glance at Gwilym as you held  this note. His face was screwed up in concentration as his eyes followed the music. His hands, which were large and smooth, moved gracefully. His long fingers pressed the keys with ease. He looked very handsome.
“And though I’m heart sore, the boy next door
Affection for me won’t display
I just adore him
So I can’t ignore him
The boy next door…”
You held the note and came off of it slowly and softly. Gwilym did the same with his final note. As the song closed, you looked at each other. A moment of softness passed between your gazes. Gwilym was beginning to understand his friend’s warning. You were so...charming.
“That was very good,” he said.
“Thank you,” you said sweetly.
“I’m impressed you knew all the words,” he remarked.
“I’ve been a fan of the movie since I was little,” you told him. “I literally wanted to be Judy Garland.”
“Well, you don’t have very far to go,” he said. “Although, I believe Y/N Y/L/N is perfect just as she is. You don’t have to be Judy Garland.”
Heat came to your cheeks.
“Thank you,” you said again, looking at the floor.
You paused, searching for something to say in return, some compliment to pay him.
“The piano playing was -”
“Please, Y/N, let’s not go there,” he said, a smile pulling at his lips. “My piano playing is absolute shit.”
He held his breath as the words left his mouth, fearful you might take offense to the language or feel he was getting too comfortable. When you clapped your hand over your mouth to stifle the most adorable giggle he’d ever heard, he was relieved.
“It wasn’t shit!” you protested. “Really, it wasn’t!”
“I appreciate you trying to bolster me, but the most redeeming part was playing through your page turn, which was executed flawlessly.”
You laughed some more.
“Well, I am known around here for my page turning skills,” you joked.
“I have a feeling you’ll be known for many things, Y/N,” he said. “Including turning pages for barely capable pianists.”
Your smile lingered on your lips as your classmates began entering the theater. Sloan eyed you questioningly as he saw how close you were standing to Gwilym. When had you drifted that way? You hadn’t felt yourself move.
Tucking your hair behind your ear, you stepped away, back toward center stage. Gwilym got to his feet and followed you, turning to address the other students.
“Welcome back, everyone,” he said.
He took roll quickly before getting into rehearsal. He and Lily were working on their early scene in the wagon. You watched him ease her into comfort with him. She was six, just like her character, Tootie, and though not shy, did need to warm up to people. Sloan’s sister took a seat in the audience, and you saw her soften as she looked on as well.
“Isn’t that sweet?” you said to Sloan as she approached you.
She looked over at Gwilym going back and forth with her niece.
“Precious,” she said flatly. “You and Gwilym seemed pretty cozy.”
You rolled your eyes, but knew you still looked flushed.
“Oh, please,” you said. “We were just practicing.”
“Y/N, look at me,” she said with uncharacteristic seriousness.
You did.
“I know we’re joking about how hot he is and all that, but it’s not smart to think any further than that,” she said. “He’s a professor - at least right now - and both of you could get into trouble.”
Defensiveness surged through you.
“You’re talking about it like we’ve been sleeping together or something,” you said, harsher than you meant to. “You’re the one who’s been making the jokes. Nothing’s happened, so spare me the lecture.”
“Y/N, I’m just trying to be a friend,” she said.
“Look, it’s perfectly normal to connect with a teacher,” you returned. “It’s nothing more than that.”
She looked you over, skepticism coming over her sharp features.
“If you say so, Y/N,” she said with a sigh. “But, for the record, I’ve never seen you look at anyone the way you were looking at him when we walked in. Ever.”
She walked away, leaving you stricken where you stood.

Doubts (part 3)
It was 11pm and it has been a long day at the Grey-Sloan-Memorial Hospital. There has been a car accident and many patients came in. But now slowly the situation began to ease and the doctors went home, one after another. „I´m gonna pick up Allison at Merediths and drive home“, Teddy informed Owen and yawned. „Yeah, good night“, he answered and made his way to his locker to change his clothes. Then he left the hospital and wanted to go to his car, when he saw Amelia sitting on a bench. She still wore her hospital clothes and stared at the dark sky. „Don´t you want to go home?“, he asked her softly so as not to scare her. She turned her head and smiled. „I will soon but I´m enjoying the silence out here at the moment.“
Owen followed her gaze to the moon and sighed. „You´re right. It´s quiet here. After this bustle today at the hospital it´s relaxing.“ He sat down next to her and leaned back. He heard her breathing, but she didn´t look at him. Amelia felt her whole body tingling. She didn´t know what to say. But she wanted to talk, to make this situation less uncomfortable. „How are Allison and Teddy?“, she asked. „Teddy is good. She and Koracick seem to be very happy. And Allison is one of the most perfect humans I´ve ever met in my life. So they are both pretty good“, Owen answered and smiled. He almost asked her about Link, but he stopped himself. He didn´t want this conversation to lead to superficial smalltalk. He really had to talk to her about his feelings. And he felt that there was still something between them. Sometimes it almost felt like the old times, when she came to Seattle. But he knew that they also had hard times together and he was afraid that she didn´t want to  be with him again. They tried so often and it failed all the times. But what were the possibilities? He could talk to her and she could say yes or no. Or he could never tell her about his feelings and then what? He would maybe miss his chance. So he decided to talk to her now.
„Amelia?“, he started. She looked at him and the tone in his voice told her he would say something important. His eyes sparkled with… sympathy? Or affection maybe?
„I know we have a difficult history...“, he continued and she knew what he was going to say. Or she rather hoped. Her heart was pounding and she felt the desire to kiss Owen. But she let him go on.
„I know that I did some mistakes and that every time we talked about our problems we just started to fight. But when I look back, I just see you and me and ignore all the hard times we had. Because they weren´t significant. I… just can´t forget you. You are the one,... the only one. And I know I said that many times to you and also to Teddy. And I understand if you´re thinking that this is just a mood or because I can´t be alone. But my feelings for you never disappeared. I just tried to suppress them, and yes, for a little while it worked… I was with Teddy and we had Allison. I had a new life and it was exiting. But the more I was separated from you the stronger my feelings became. I can´t suppress them anymore. Im in love with you, Amelia. I am since we kissed for the first time.“
Amelias eyes were glittering with tears. She couldn´t move, she couldn´t talk. She opened her mouth and focused Owens eyes. He looked at her expectantly and full of passion. “Owen”, she whispered, “It was not only your fault that it  didn´t work between us. I ran away all the time when it became difficult and that made it even harder. I´m sorry. And I miss you.” Amelia felt her pulse raising. Her desire to kiss him was overwhelming and she slowly leaned over to him. Then he moved his head and kissed her. He brought his hand to her cheek and she felt all the tension falling away from her.
„I love you, Owen… you don´t know how hard it was not to tell you that. But I couldn´t, I was afraid“, she whispered and her tears began to fall. Owen wiped them away gently. „Let´s try it again… we´ll take it slow and I will try my best to be more considerate“, Owen said with hope. „And I will try to be more open with you and not to run away from problems“, Amelia uttered and smiled delicately. He took her hand and squeezed it softly. They would try it again. He smiled and watched Amelia staring at the sky again. He loved her dimple. He loved her bright blue eyes. He loved her smile. He loved everything about her. He asked himself how he could let go of her after her tumor.
„Do you need a ride home?“, he asked her after a while. „No. I´ll drive with Maggie in 10 minutes. But thank you.“, she answered. „ Also I have to change my clothes, so … I should go.“
„Yes, go. Have a good night, Amelia“, he said and she let go of his hand and then smiled at him. „You too.“ They looked into each other´s eyes briefly and then she set off. Owen followed her with his eyes and when she disappeared behind the hospital doors, he went to his car and drove home.
When he laid in his bed one hour later he was still thinking about this night.  What would happen? How would they go on? Could they manage it with the kids? So many questions stopped him from sleeping. But he knew he would do everything to make it last this time and that was, what mattered in this moment.

Take A Wissen! Favorite 100 Songs of 2018 :: #20-1
Cooking, driving, working, blogging, cleaning, playing, parenting…whatever. I’m listening to music. Throughout the year. All the time. Every day.
These are my favorite 100 songs from the past year. Notice I’m not egotistical enough to proclaim my love of them makes them the “Best Songs of the Year” like other year end lists. They are simply my favorite; the ones I do not want to forget and are now in Jay’s musical rotation from now til eternity. OR until Spotify goes under and all my playlists are lost or the world ends. Or my world ends. May they make you move, sing, cry, close your eyes, smile, do the white man’s overbite or the Elaine dance. Like Eddie Murphy’s Buckwheat said, “Take A Wissen!”.
20.  “Shallow” by Bradley Cooper & Lady Gaga
"In all the good times I find myself longing for change And in the bad times, I fear myself"
19. “What Do You Want” by Nico Vega
"You can go ahead and hate me For bringing in news"
18. “Heavy” by Birdtalker
"If your face is down Take a look around Do your fingers move? Do your lungs inflate? Are you tired are you weary Of the hidden hate you've been holding?"
17. “Me & My Dog” by boygenius (Julien Baker, Lucy Dacus & Phoebe Bridgers)
"I didn't wanna be this guy I cried at your show with the teenagers Tell your friend I'll be all right In the morning it won't matter"
16. “Mariners Apartment Complex” by Lana Del Rey
"I fucked up, I know that, but Jesus Can't a girl just do the best she can?"
15. “Summer’s End” by John Prine
"Well you never know how far from home you're feelin' Until you've watched the shadows cross the ceilin'"
14. “Geyser” by Mitski
"Though I'm a geyser Feel it bubbling from below Hear it call, hear it call Hear it call to me Constantly And hear the harmony Only when it's harming me It's not real, it's not real It's not real enough"
13. “The Right Time” by Ural Thomas and The Pain
"Ural Thomas could have been a crooner, a funk singer, a smooth R&B artist. He could have bounced between Otis Redding and Isaac Hayes. Instead he disappeared for decades. Fortunately, his reemergence shows roots across the R&B spectrum, but isn't indebted to any of them. Instead of a throwback to a given line, we get simply Ural Thomas in the present, something that's easy to dig."  -- Pop Matters
12. “Neon Moon” by Cigarettes After Sex
"There's a rundown bar 'cross the railroad tracks I've got a table for two way in the back Where I sit alone and think of you"
11. “Come Out And Play” by Billie Eilish
"But I love it when you're awfully quiet"
10. “I Only Dance When I Want To” by The Spook School
"You say "it's my favourite song" You said that about every one And you're reaching for my hands now But I don't wanna dance now"
09. “The Hype” by Shopping
"The drums wallop, the guitar skitters, and bassist Billy Easter's corkscrewing bass urges the track forward, lending extra oomph to their provocations. Around the halfway mark, Aggs lets loose with a brash guitar solo that explodes like a piñata. “The Hype” is Shopping at its best."  -- Pitchfork
08. “The Wish” by Bruce Springsteen
"Well, last night we all sat around laughin' at the things that guitar bought us And I laid awake thinkin' 'bout the other things it's brought us Well, tonight I'm takin' requests here in the kitchen This one's for you, ma, let me come right out and say it But if you're lookin' for a sad song, hell I ain't gonna play it"
07. “1933” by Frank Turner
"If I was of the greatest generation I'd be pissed Surveying the world that I built slipping back into this I'd be screaming at my grandkids: "We already did this""
06. “Is That Alright?” by Lady Gaga
"Nothing you say wouldn't interest me All of your words are like poems to me"
05. “You’re Somebody Else” by Flora Cash
"Well you look like yourself But you're somebody else Only it ain't on the surface Well you talk like yourself No, I hear someone else though Now you're making me nervous"
04. “New Birth In New England” by Phosphorescent
"The most significant things can happen at the most insignificant moments. With a sultry swing, and a relatively joyous piano melody, the track chronicles Houck meeting his new love in a random bar in New England."  -- The 405
03. “Normal” by Sasha Sloan
"Keep on playing that song that I don't like I just wanna feel normal for the night"
02. “This Is America” by Childish Gambino
"What Gambino put together is a true picture of America, where so many of us get to dance and sing and laugh and create. All the while others are largely ignored and trapped in the background, struggling and sometimes dying in a sea of ugliness that many of us would rather not acknowledge, knowing it would ruin the pretty pictures we’d rather focus on. By the end, Gambino’s carefree dancing becomes a full sprint from the madness. He couldn’t escape the reckoning. Neither can America."  -- CNN's Issac Bailey
01. “Seventeen” by Welles
"In our heads we're like winners Though we're just beginners At some miserable game I'll take you out to Ar-kansas Where there's beer and molasses We'll let the times fly on past us The whole world, kiss our asses Through red trees and white trashes"

Warning(s): Fluff and angst. Lost of pining, once again. Are y’all regretting the slow burn vote yet? I SURE AM. lmao
Part 1  Part 2  Part 3  Part 4
Part 5 here we go!!!
Over the coming weeks, the show was really coming along. As Fall Break approached, Gwilym felt confident in the progress the class had made and he told Dr. Bennett so when he spoke to her over Skype. She was thrilled.
“I’m so glad you were able to do this,” she said. “How’s Y/N doing? I haven’t heard from her in a while.”
“She’s…” Gwilym trailed off.
He remembered the past weeks of being in class with you. How you always showed up early and that precious ten minute period of just the two of you. Talking together, laughing together, and sharing brief, fleeting touches. It meant more to him than he could really put to words.
“She’s perfect,” he said.
Dr. Bennett raised an eyebrow at him.
“Perfect?”
“Yeah,” he said, clearing his throat. “At her role.”
She still looked skeptical. She opened her mouth as if to push the issue further, but closed it again. It was probably better she didn’t know the answers to her questions.
“And Andrew and Sloan?” she went with instead.
“Also wonderful,” he told her. “Edith is hitting on me again, which is rather obnoxious, but I’m dealing with it.”
“How?” she asked.
“By ignoring her as much as possible,” he said.
She chuckled. “Good luck with all that.”
“How are you and the baby?”
“I’m hormonal as shit, and more tired than I can ever remember, but otherwise fantastic,” she said.
As if summoned by the mere mention of him, the baby wailed from somewhere off to the side. She sighed.
“Gotta go,” she said. “Time to feed him.”
“Good luck,” he returned.
They said goodbye and hung up. Then Gwilym’s own stomach growled. He closed his laptop and headed for the dining hall, not wanting to be cooped up in Dr. Bennett’s office any more. Sure, there were some things that needed grading, but they could wait.
He walked, mulling over once again what Dr. Bennett had said in that first phone call. Be careful there. He had a feeling he knew what she meant. He was full on crushing on you, which was not something he had felt since he was your age.
But that was just the thing. You were so much younger. And he was still your professor. Any relationship would have to wait. Even then, how accepted would you be? The age gap was still frowned upon, even after you no longer had the teacher/student dynamic. Not to mention that after the semester was over, Gwilym was going home to London, and you were hoping to be in Los Angeles.
As he made his way to the dining hall, he ran into Dr. Edy, one of the journalism professors at the school. She was very kind to Gwilym when he had gotten lost finding his office for the semester, and since then they had remained sort of friends. He greeted her warmly.
“Hi, Caroline,” he said. “How are you?”
“Great, Gwilym, how are you?” she returned with a smile.
Across the courtyard, you stood with Sloan and Andrew. You hadn’t noticed Gwilym right away, but when you did, your heart sunk. He was with Dr. Edy, and looked very happy to be there. She was touching his arm and beaming at him. She wasn’t quite as aggressive as Edith, but the intention was the same. She was attracted to Gwilym.
And how could she not be? He was so talented and kind and funny and handsome. It was all the same things you thought of him. You just couldn’t act on it because of some rules you now fully considered dumb and arbitrary. That was probably your frustration talking, but you were done ignoring it.
In the weeks since the party, you and Gwilym had become even closer. Those ten minutes before each class period were more sacred to you than any religious service you could remember. You never missed a class or your unspoken appointments.
Those minutes contained everything. Getting to know each other, joking around, little bits of private rehearsal. Each one brought you a step closer to Gwilym. Your feelings for him - which you had acknowledged only to yourself - were beyond friendship. Though you were content to keep it there for now and keep you both out of trouble. You couldn’t help but hope that maybe, after the semester was done, something more could come of it.
Now, as you watched him with another woman - one his age, who was available, and would not cost him his job - you were hit with such a pang of jealousy it nearly knocked you over. Your chest felt constricted as your eyes followed them into the dining hall. He had not even glanced your way. They disappeared through the door and your heart ached at what would happen after. They’d share a meal together. Like a date.
“Hello?” Sloan said, bringing you back to her. “Y/N, you in there?”
“What? Yeah. Sorry. What did you say?” you replied.
“My coworkers are throwing a party before Fall Break,” Andrew said. “You interested?”
“Oh,” you said. “No, not really.”
“It won’t be like last time,” he went on. “These people have morals.”
You laughed lightly.
“I know, but I’m just not that into parties,” you said. “I’d rather stay in. I’m reading this book Gwilym loaned me and I’d rather have that, with a glass of wine, in my own room.”
“God, you’re lame,” Sloan groaned.
Andrew frowned, as he always did whenever you talked about Gwilym. Or mentioned him in passing as you did now.
“Come on, Y/N, please?” he pressed. “It’ll help you get your mind off of -”
He stopped himself. You narrowed your eyes at him.
“Finish that sentence,” you said.
“It doesn’t matter,” he muttered, running a nervous hand through his hair.
“If you have something to say, Andrew, just say it,” you insisted. “I’m getting tired of your passive aggressive comments.”
“Fine,” he snipped. “I was going to say it’ll help get your mind off Gwilym. There. You happy?”
“Not even close,” you returned. “What the hell is that supposed to mean?”
“You know what it means, don’t play dumb,” he replied, rolling his eyes. “You’re obsessed with him.”
“Obsessed?!” you cried. “That’s a strong word, I think!”
“Do you?” he shot back. “Because Gwilym’s all you ever talk about anymore. ‘Gwilym loaned me this book,’ ‘Gwilym told me this joke,’ ‘Gwilym’s so great!’”
His tone was high-pitched and mocking, making your stomach turn with anger.
“Fuck you, Andrew,” you said. “You’re just jealous because you’re too much of a coward to tell me how you really feel. So you take it out on me when I get close to anyone else.”
Andrew sucked in a sharp breath and stormed off across the grass. Sloan’s mouth fell open as she looked between you and his slowly disappearing form.
“Well, that escalated quickly,” she said.
“I’m sick of him!” you cried. “He was a dick to Dan last year because we started dating, and now because I’m friends with Gwil, he’s being an ass about him too! If Andrew thinks he’s so perfect for me, why doesn’t he stop fucking around and make a move? And if he’s not willing to do that, I wish he’d just shut the hell up!”
Sloan’s expression was difficult to read. She was clearly torn.
“What?” you snapped. “Am I wrong?”
“No,” she said slowly. “But neither is Andrew. It’s hard to admit how you feel about someone, Y/N. And he’s been in love with you basically since you met.”
You blinked, your anger fading into shock.
“Andrew’s in love with me?” you questioned.
She sighed. “Yes. So could you please show a little more sympathy?”
“I’ll show him some sympathy when he deserves it,” you said, getting heated again. “But mocking me like that...that’s just disrespectful.”
“I’ll give you that,” she said. “But again, he’s not necessarily wrong.”
“You think Gwilym is all I talk about anymore?”
“Maybe not all you talk about, but he comes up more than should be expected, I think,” she said. “Look, I’m gonna go find Andrew. He’s probably upset.”
“So, what, you’re just gonna leave me on my own for lunch?” you questioned.
“Yeah, I’m sorry,” she said. “I just...I know he’s more upset than you right now. I live with him, I see it every day how much he...” she trailed off.
“Fine,” you said hotly. “Choose him. Whatever.”
“I’m not picking a side,” she said gently. “But Andrew isn’t as strong as you and he needs a friend right now.”
You softened. “Sorry, I don’t want to put you in the middle, it’s just…”
She put a hand on your shoulder. “I know. See you later, okay?”
“Later,” you replied.
You watched her fade into the crowd. With an irritated huff, you adjusted your backpack and walked into the dining hall. You weren’t hungry anymore, so you just got a coffee and went to find a table. There, you pulled out the book Gwilym gave you and began reading. It was difficult to focus on the words, since your mind was still reeling from your confrontation with Andrew. And what Sloan said.
You had never considered that Andrew’s feelings were strong enough to be love. A crush, infatuation, even lust maybe. But love? That seemed a bit much.
With a sigh, you closed the book, leaned on the table, and buried your face in your hands. Were you being too hard on him? Maybe you should open the door for him to talk about it and clear the air. Would that mean the end of the friendship, though?
“Y/N, are you alright?”
Your head snapped up as you heard the voice which had become the most beloved to  you. Gwilym stood there, a concerned furrow to his brow and an inviting look in his eyes. Behind him, and slightly to the right, stood Dr. Edy.
“I’m okay,” you lied. “I think.”
Gwilym turned to Dr. Edy. “I’ll see you around, Caroline. Thanks for lunch.”
“Anytime,” she returned, slightly confused as her eyes flickered between you and your teacher. “Have a good day.”
Looking disappointed, she walked away. Gwilym took a seat beside you. The smell of him wafted over as he did. You had become familiar with the scent, as it still clung to the hoodie which remained in your possession. You wore it nightly, so it was faint, but still there.
“What’s going on?” he asked gently.
“Just my dumb friends,” you sighed. “Andrew has it pretty bad for me, and things sort of escalated. I feel bad.”
His smile faltered at the mention of Andrew’s feelings.
“Have you done something wrong?” he wondered.
“I don’t think so,” you said. “I think I was harsh, but I was honest. He acted like kind of an asshole, but...I suppose he was being harshly honest too.”
“You’ll work it out,” he said. “You’re good friends. And feelings like that can often make things...complicated. But that doesn’t mean you can’t stay close. If Andrew really cares about you and wants you in his life, your friendship will mean more to him than hurt pride.”
A beat passed.
“That is...unless you feel the same way about him?”
You shook your head. “No. I’ve never felt anything more than friendship for him.”
Gwilym inwardly cursed himself for feeling so relieved.
“Everything will work out,” he said. “I know everyone says that, but most of the time, it’s true.”
You chuckled. “Yeah, I hope so.”
“Now, how are you enjoying the book?” he asked.
“I’m loving it!” you said excitedly.
“I knew you would!” he replied. “I’m so glad!”
“Thanks so much for the recommendation,” you said. “Really captivating stuff. The way this author writes, the words she uses, I just...wow. It’s beautiful.”
“It really is,” he agreed. “The use of nature in her metaphors was a pattern I picked up on and really enjoyed.”
“Me too!” you gasped. “It’s really a wonderful story.”
“I’m thrilled you like it,” he said.
You chatted with Gwilym for another hour or so and then he brought up the break.
“So, will you be going home for Fall Break?” he asked.
“Nah,” you said, shaking your head. “I never go home for breaks if I can help it.”
“Why not?” he wondered.
“My relationship with my parents is complicated at best,” you said, unsure why this was coming so easily. You normally hated to talk about your family. “They don’t exactly approve of my career choice and it never fails to come up.”
“I’m sorry to hear that,” he said. “Why don’t they want you to pursue acting? You’re amazing.”
You flushed. “Thank you. But, they just don’t think it’s stable enough. I told you they work in a restaurant, right?”
He nodded. “You did.”
“Well, because of that, money was always tight,” you said. “They’re afraid I won’t make it and end up like them.”
“That’s not really fair to you,” he said.
“It makes sense, though,” you replied. “My mom wanted to be a dancer, and started to go to school for that. She got injured and poof! The dream was gone. My dad wanted to sing, but got rejected again and again. So he gave up. They don’t have any faith that the arts is a place where someone like me can succeed.”
“You’ve already succeeded,” he pointed out. “You got yourself the scholarship. You’re starring in the show. You’re nearly graduated. Do they not see that as success?”
“No,” you said. “Without a dollar sign, they don’t.”
“Do they think you’re really not talented enough?” he wondered.
“They would have no way of knowing,” you told him. “They’ve never seen me perform.”
“Well, I think if they -”
“They can’t afford to come here,” you cut across him. “New York is expensive, and I don’t have space for them in my dorm.”
He opened his mouth and closed it again, stumped.
“I’m sorry,” he said again.
“It’s fine,” you said, and you both knew you were lying. “It is what it is.”
“If there’s anything I can do -”
You cut him off again. “Oh, no, I could never ask that of you.”
“I’m offering,” he insisted.
Your eyes welled up with tears at his willingness to help. He reached out and took your hand for the first time since he had rescued you from the party. And yet, it was as if he’d always done it. Like a habit. It was familiar to you both.
“You’re a smart, talented, wonderful girl,” he said as you met his eyes. Those eyes which had long ago won your heart. “If no one else believed in you, I would. I do.”
You took a deep breath and swallowed the lump in your throat.
“Thank you,” you said, barely audible, and you squeezed his hand. “Thank you so much.”
The next class was the day before break. You arrived early, excited to see Gwilym again after your talk the day before. Your heart lurched each time you thought about it. And you had gone to sleep that night, snuggled in his hoodie, and remembering that he believed in you.
“Hey, Y/N,” said Andrew.
He was standing outside the door, looking guilty and tired.
“Hey,” you said stiffly.
“Can we talk?” he asked.
“Sure,” you agreed. “Wanna go in?”
He nodded. You entered the auditorium and to your dismay, Gwilym wasn’t there. You held back a disappointed sigh and you and Andrew went to the front. You leaned against the stage, folding your arms over your chest, and looked at him expectantly.
“I’m sorry about yesterday,” he said. “I shouldn’t have mocked you like that, it was shitty. And I’m sorry for what I said.”
You nodded.
“I’m sorry too,” you said. “I shouldn’t have called you a coward. That was harsh.”
“It was,” he said with a chuckle. “But, the thing is, you were right, Y/N. I have been a coward.”
A jolt of nerves went through you. Was he about to confess?
“The truth is, I’ve fallen for you,” he said.
Shit, you thought.
“Hard. I think about you all the time. I want you like I’ve never wanted anyone before. I just - I see you, and everything stops. Your eyes, your smile, you voice. All of it makes me feel - like the movies and poets say - like you’re the only thing I am ever going to want.”
Your face froze as you watched him spilling his feelings. A wall went up around you because you couldn’t accept them. But the words he said had you scared stiff. It was the same way you felt about Gwilym.
“Andrew, I -”
He cut you off by pulling you close and crashing his lips onto yours. You let out a surprised yelp and then struggled against him, keeping your lips firmly closed. With a surge of strength you shoved him away, breathless and furious. You opened your mouth to begin telling him off, but a sound stopped you. The sound of the auditorium door closing. You turned your head and saw that Gwilym had just walked in.

A/N: Y’all the drama is about to get so real!!!
Warning(s): Use of the word c*nt.
Part 1  Part 2  Part 3  Part 4  Part 5  Part 6  Part 7
Part 8 here we go!!!
As it turned out, with Gwilym, making love properly meant incredibly slow, incredibly sweet, and just overall incredible. No one had cared more about you in such an intimate moment, and it made you fall for him all the more. As you lay in the afterglow with him, you looked up at his face.
“What are you thinking about?” you wondered.
He grinned at you. “I’m thinking about how lovely you are.”
You beamed and pressed your lips to his chest. His skin was still warm. You could hear his accelerated heartbeat.
“What are you thinking about?” he asked.
“I’m thinking about how much I want you,” you answered.
“You’re insatiable,” he teased.
“Just for you,” you returned.
Chuckling he rolled on top of you and kissed you some more.
Weeks passed in this bliss. Giving Andrew space was the perfect excuse to not hang out at him and Sloan’s apartment. Although, you were pretty sure Sloan kept inviting you in order to get you to be friends again. However, more often than not, you were at Gwilym’s. You also frequently stopped by his office during office hours. Sometimes you had sex, but you usually didn’t while at school. Gwilym was too nervous about getting caught. You understood, but the thrill of it made it so sexy to you.
Of course, you still had your moments before class where you talked, and occasionally snuck a kiss in every once in a while. It made you so happy, you could barely contain your giggles.
Weekends, you also spent with Gwilym at his place. This worked out too because Sloan and Andrew worked on weekends. No one suspected a thing. Everything was falling into place while you were falling for Gwilym. And you were falling hard. You wanted to tell him you were pretty much in love with him, but the right moment never seemed to come around. And you wanted to be sure of your feelings before all of that came out.
On top of all that, rehearsal was going amazingly well. The art department had created beautiful sets, and the costumes were wonderful. You could hardly miss a note, it seemed. You told Gwilym in a private moment that it was his fault.
“My fault?” he’d chuckled.
“Yes, your fault,” you repeated. “You’ve made me entirely too happy.”
“Well,” he said with a smile. “For that, I will gladly accept blame.”
He had leaned in and kissed you so tenderly, your heart fluttered. Everything was perfect. Just perfect.
Daniel trudged after Edith as she walked down the hall to Gwilym’s office. He hated to be doing this but she had told him she’d set him up with another friend of hers - an easy friend - and he figured it was worth it.
“I still don’t see how you’re gonna convince him to let you play Esther for a night,” he said. “He and Y/N are super close, he’d never take it away from her.”
“I’ll convince him by using my womanly wiles,” she said, batting her lashes dramatically.
“Oh, yeah, because that’s worked so well for you before,” he retorted.
She glowered at him and his sarcasm and he only shrugged.
“Look, I’ll pretend I’m all for it while I’m in there, but I don’t think he’s gonna bite,” he said. “But, I’m an actor, I’ll make the case with you as convincing as possible.”
They reached the door and Edith came to a sudden halt as she reached for the knob.
“What are you waiting for?” Daniel asked.
“Shhh!” she returned. “Listen.”
He leaned closer. Through the door, he heard a steady rhythm of skin on skin. Some soft grunting. Then, a quiet whine.
“Gwil…”
Daniel cringed. He knew it was you.
“Y/N, quiet, darling,” Gwilym hissed.
“We shouldn’t be listening to this!” Daniel hissed to Edith.
“I just found my ammo,” she returned, ignoring him.
She turned on her heel and started down the hall. He jogged after her.
“Where are you going?” he demanded.
“To the Dean’s office,” she said.
“You’re going to tell?!” he gasped. “Why?! Y/N could get suspended! Or worse!”
“Exactly,” she said with a smirk. “With Y/N out of the picture, I’ve got a shot at the starring role.”
“Edith, are you serious?!” he cried. “Gwilym will be fired! You could ruin both of them!”
“Since when are you Mr. Morality?” she challenged. “Don’t tell me you’re still carrying a flame for her.”
“Look, she and I aren’t like that, but that doesn’t mean I don’t care about her,” he explained. “I wouldn’t wish what you’re about to do on anyone.”
“Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t,” she said, crossing her arms over her chest.
His mind searched wildly for an answer to give her. She stood to gain a lot by removing you, but maybe he could use Gwilym as a way to soften her.
“Tell Gwilym what you heard,” he said. “Use it as a bargaining chip to get to play Esther for one or two shows or something. You can even say he has to end it with her and go out with you instead. But if you go to the Dean right now, all opportunities go out the window.”
“You’re right, Dan,” she said, looking away thoughtfully. “With this information, I can have them both at my mercy.”
“Yeah,” he said, nervous. “Think about it, okay? Don’t act rashly.”
She opened her mouth to respond, but then the door to Gwilym’s office opened. Daniel and Edith jumped into the side corridor and peeked around, watching you. You kissed Gwilym with a massive smile on your face, and he had one to match. They heard you say your goodbyes and then head down the hall, away from your peeping classmates.
Edith watched you disappear and then got a wicked gleam in her eye.
“I’m gonna go talk to him,” she said.
“Right now?!” Daniel wondered.
“Sure,” she said. “This is my opportunity, and I’m going to take it. Before you can tell Y/N and spoil everything.”
She threw her hair over her shoulder and then marched down the hall.
“I’m not coming with you,” he said. “I can’t support this.”
“With this information, I don’t need your support,” she shot back.
She knocked on the door and Daniel sighed. He watched her disappear into the office and then took off down the hall, desperate to find you and warn you. Edith was right, he was going to try and ruin this for her.
Gwilym was startled to see Edith, but allowed her into his office. She took a seat on a chair across from him and met his eyes, mischief on her face.
“So, what can I help you with, Edith?” he asked politely.
“I want to play Esther for three nights,” she said.
He blinked. “Why would I take that from Y/N? She earned the part.”
“Doesn’t matter,” she returned. “You can’t refuse.”
“I am refusing,” he said. “I could never do that to her.”
“Oh, but you’ll fuck her?”
Gwilym froze. Edith smiled at him in such a villainous way it sent a chill down his spine.
“What are you talking about?” he said finally.
“Don’t play dumb,” she said, rolling her eyes. “I heard you.”
“You’re wrong,” he insisted.
“I’m not,” she returned. She closed her eyes and raised her voice a few octaves as she threw her head back and mimicked you, “Oh, Gwil…” She cleared her throat and donned a British accent “Y/N, quiet, darling!”
The blood drained from his face. How long had she been out there? He didn’t see her when you left. Had she hidden herself away? Just so she could come in and rob you of shows that were yours?
“Give me three nights, or I take this to the Dean’s office,” she said. “Then both of you will be out of my way.”
“Why not just do it then?” he challenged. “Get rid of us?”
“Come on, Gwilym, I’m not so evil,” she sighed. “I’m willing to play ball and at least let her graduate.”
He sighed, resting his elbows on his desk and putting his face in his hands. He thought you both had been so careful. This was his worst nightmare. And now, it meant you lost three of the shows. Either way, you were being punished because he was too weak to refuse you. Gwilym had never hated himself more than in this moment. He rubbed his eyes and looked at Edith.
“What nights do you want?” he asked.
“I knew you’d see it my way,” she returned. “I want night three, night five, and closing night.”
“You can’t have closing night,” he said flatly.
He had a few surprises for you that night. You had to be the star.
Edith glowered at him. “Why not?”
“I can’t tell you,” he said. “You just can’t have it.”
“I don’t think you can really dictate the terms of -”
He cut her off. “I’ll give you opening night.”
Inside, he was cursing himself. He imagined the look on your face when he broke the news to you. It would crush you. You would be hurt and confused, and how could he explain this? He couldn’t let you feel the guilt.
“Opening night?” she repeated. “Are you serious?”
Opening night was usually the biggest turnout. It was going to be a massive blow to you.
“I’m serious,” he said. “Opening night, night three, and night five. Those are your terms?”
“They are,” she agreed. “Let me have those, and I won’t say anything to the Dean and Y/N graduates with no black marks on her record. Deal?”
She extended her hand. Gwil hesitated. Could he really do this to you? Wasn’t it better than suspension? Expulsion? Loss of your scholarship?
He shook her hand.
“Pleasure doing business,” she said as she released him. “See you in class tomorrow.”
He just scowled at her as she left, wiggling her fingers as she closed the door. He heard her laugh before walking away down the hall. Gwilym had one more question: could he tell you about Edith’s blackmail? Or should he carry this guilt alone?
He decided on alone.
The next day in class, Gwilym didn’t meet you there early. You checked your phone, but he hadn’t texted or anything, so you guessed he was busy with something and didn’t have time. You scrolled through Instagram as you waited for class to begin. You other classmates filed in before Gwilym, who came in looking rushed. You saw him exchange an odd look with Edith and you frowned. What was that about?
“Morning, everyone,” he said, running a hand through his hair. “Sorry I’m late.”
“Gwilym, you’re right on time with everyone else,” Sloan pointed out.
Gwilym met your eyes fleetingly. You knew he meant he was sorry he didn’t come early and spend that time with you.
“Right, sorry,” he said. “Anyway, let me just take roll.”
He began taking attendance and Sloan leaned over to you.
“Is it just me or is he fucked up about something?” she whispered.
“No idea,” you breathed back. “Definitely seems weird, though.”
When he finished with roll, he looked at the class.
“You can all begin wherever you like, but first I need to speak with Edith and Y/N,” he said. “Ladies, if you’ll follow me backstage.”
You and Sloan looked at each other, confused.
“This doesn’t sit right with me,” Andrew said. “Be careful, Y/N.”
“Thanks, Andrew,” you replied.
You got up and followed Gwilym and Edith backstage into one of the dressing rooms. Your mind raced with all the questions you had. Gwilym closed the door and then faced you both.
“Y/N, I’m sorry, but Edith is going to be playing Esther for three nights of the show,” he said.
It would have shocked you less if he’d punched you in the nose.
“What?!” you cried. “Are you joking?”
His downturned mouth told you he wasn’t.
“Why?!” you demanded.
Edith opened her mouth, but Gwilym held up a hand to stop her.
“It’s just...circumstances,” he said. “She’s got opening night, night three, and night five.”
You actually stumbled backwards. Your chest felt heavy with this....this betrayal.
“Opening night?!” you went on. “You’re giving her opening night?! How could you? I’ve rehearsed, I auditioned for this part, and you’re just giving it away at some request? What’s going on?!”
“I’m sorry,” he said again. “I don’t have a choice.”
“What are you talking about?” you pressed. “You always have a choice. You’re choosing her!”
“I’m not, Y/N, believe me!” he said desperately. “Please trust me! This is for the best.”
Tears welled up in your eyes. How could he do this? Three nights? And opening night as one of them!
“Gwilym, please,” you choked out. “Don’t do this to me.”
He sighed so heavily, you almost felt sorry for him.
“I’m sorry,” he repeated. “I’m so sorry, Y/N.”
You could see in his face how much he longed to take you in his arms and comfort you. Not that you would have accepted it. You were so angry at him, you could have spit nails. But mostly, you were hurt.
“Can you give me a minute, please?” you said, barely audible.
“Look on the bright side, Y/N,” Edith began.
“Save it, bitch,” you snapped.
She sneered at you and left. Gwilym lingered. Something was on the tip of his tongue, and you willed him to say it. To give some explanation for this. But he didn’t. He sighed again and left you.
You cried for a few moments. It wasn’t so much losing those nights, though that was devastating. Opening night was important. A lot of casting directors came that night to check out upcoming talent. What hurt more was Gwilym allowing this. What on Earth could she have said to him to convince him to do it? He clearly didn’t want to.
A soft knock interrupted your thoughts.
“Go away!” you called.
Whoever it was opened the door anyway. You thought it was probably Sloan and Andrew, but you didn't want to talk to them. They didn’t know about you and Gwilym, and therefore could not understand why this was such a blow to you. To your surprise, it was Daniel.
“Hey,” he said.
“I said go away,” you returned with a sniffle.
“I’m not a good listener,” he said with a shrug. “Look, I came in here because I know what happened.”
“Everybody probably does by now,” you pointed out. “Edith’s surely gloating.”
“Don’t be too hard on Gwilym, okay?” he said. “He’s just looking out for you.”
“Looking out for me? By giving away my part?”
“He’s only doing it because Edith’s blackmailing him,” he said. “She heard you two in his office yesterday.”
Shock went through you. You stared at Daniel, wide-eyed and horrified.
“She didn’t hear -”
He cut you off. “I heard it too, Y/N. There was no mistaking it. You said each other’s names and everything.”
“Shit…” you breathed.
He explained everything. What they heard, Edith’s plans, and that he’d tried to find you and warn you, but couldn’t. You took it all in, feeling very sorry for Gwilym now. This was what he had feared all along.
“Why would she do this?” you wondered. “Even for Edith, it seems so mean.”
“Because she’s a terrible person who enjoys being a cunt for no reason,” he said.
You laughed a little and a beat passed.
“My advice?” said Daniel. “Break it off with Gwil. Get rid of what she holds over you.”
“I can’t do that,” you said stubbornly. “I won’t.”
“Come on, Y/N,” he said with a groan. “Surely you’re not so horny that -”
“We’re not just messing around!” you interrupted. “I love him!”
As soon as the words left you, you clapped your hand over your mouth. Your heart raced with regret. The first person to hear that should have been Gwilym. Daniel’s jaw went a little slack as he stared at you.
“Well, shit, Chip,” he sighed. “That’s different. Does he know?”
You shook your head.
“Look, the choice is yours,” he said. “Break it off, or just let Edith have her way.”
He left. You remained in the dressing room wondering where to go from here. Gwilym was always wanting to protect you. If Daniel was right, would this be your chance to protect Gwilym? Were you strong enough to let him go? Were those really your only options?
