We had an enjoyable dinner one evening at Paul Aner Brauhaus across from the Conrad. They even had live entertainment. She was really good! Griffiths Cafe has been closed for several years now. Still no new tenant. Sad. Griffiths was my favorite coffee shop in Bukit Mertajam and was pretty close to Mama's house. They had great coffee true, but the people there were just so welcoming and friendly. Sorry they didn't make it. Across from Griffiths, where I'm taking the photo, is a great little place to eat. It's The Garden. First shots with the insanely fast Chinese Zhong Yi Optics' Mitakon 35mm f/0.95 Mark II Speedmaster (Fujifilm XF Mount) around Drayton Mills and Bella Latte in Spartanburg. My La Marzocco latte was tasty and beautiful but, the photos sucked! It was cloudy (Hurricane Nate's fault) so I took a few other photos. Give me some time to learn the lens. It's totally manual so, focus peaking is the way to go. How 'bout gettin' down a little at Tow Boo Kong (Nine Emperor Gods Temple) in Butterworth for Chinese New Year 2017. Our first stop, a marathon 12 hour day and evening at Singapore's stunning Gardens by the Bay. When I wasn't shooting with the amazing bokeh monster Mitakon 35mm f/0.95 lens affixed to the X-T2, I was pulling out the X100s. No need to have a green thumb. After having yogurt, a bacon & egg bagel, and filling up with several lattes at Mugshot Cafe we go for a stroll around Lebuh Chulia and Love Lane. Now, we stay with Mom on the mainland, but our family, showing me around, took me to see Yeng Keng Hotel (362 Lebuh Chulia). It was so colorful I wanted to snap a few shots. Just so ya know... It is an INFERNO out in the sunshine, but inside is a powerful A/C unit. So, while I cool down I take more photos. I didn't see what's in a room, but the rest was great and well worth looking into staying. Wall decor outside the rooms. Ok, geek time... It looks like a what? A pineapple right? Well, the decorative stuff below the "pineapple" is what we call, here in South Carolina, Spanish Moss. Hopefully NO chiggers. But people here wouldn't know what I'm talkin' about (Chiggers{mites}). Anyway, I digress... Spanish Moss is an epiphyte and member of the Bromeliaceae family...
