Spring encounters

Spring is in full swing - everything is turning green, weather is tricky, sometimes warm, sometimes rainy. Here, a cat living somewhere around. This poor kitten is definitely underfed, and obviously isn't the happiest cat around, I hope to catch some time out of the office soon to take proper care.

Taken with Panasonic GX7 digital mirrorless camera and adapted Konica Hexanon AR 52mm F1.8 manual lens on AR-m43 adapter. Wide-open aperture, at reasonably close to minimal focusing distance to have as much bokeh as possible. Not bad!

Hyde Park Bee by Christopher Deacon Via Flickr: Meyer Optik Trioplan 100mm f2.8 Aperture was either wide open or, at most, closed down to f3.2 This photograph was taken in May 2019 in Hyde Park, London, on a very pleasant sunny afternoon. I am amazed that I was able to nail the focus. I have taken literally thousands of photos with this manual lens, some of which have turned out to be pretty, but at my best, the focus is still somewhat soft. In this case, even the legs of the bee are crisp - not easy with this lens wide open!

Spring encounters

Spring is in full swing - everything is turning green, weather is tricky, sometimes warm, sometimes rainy. Here are some flowers hanging around the vineyard that looked nice.

A Dream Remembered by Christopher Deacon Via Flickr: Meyer Optik Trioplan 100mm f2.8 Aperture was wide open. Another photograph from Stratford Ontario, taken outside the front entrance of the Festival Theatre. These flowers are called Corn Cockle. The photograph seems to present a glimpse of something blurry but lovely, like a fleeting memory from a dream. Much of the detail is no longer decipherable but the impression feels pleasant and we'd love to hold onto that world which seems however destined to fade from our memory by breakfast.
