"Enough!" Severus declared. "You are ill, coughing, and in no way capable of working."

"But..." ACHOO! Given the obvious, Harry sighed and nodded.

"I'm surprised Winky let you out of the house," Severus scolded.

"Well..." Harry looked shifty.

Severus rubbed his forehead. "You snuck out. Go back and let her take care of you."

"I could use hot tea and a nap," Harry admitted.

Fireflies

It had been a long, hard week for both of them. Severus had spent time working with his students and Harry had a difficult case that resulted in otherwise needless deaths.

They sat together in the small garden behind Grimmauld Place. Minty brought cold drinks and biscuits as fireflies danced in the flowers.

It felt good, just to sit and be.

Shop

"Only you would come home with a post-eagle instead of a post-owl," Severus said.

The white-tailed eagle balanced on Harry's arm. "He is big. His name is Butler, and he has good manners, according to the man in the shop."

"Good thing," Severus replied, offering Butler a piece of ham. The eagle took it delicately.

Woozy

Severus swept through the floo at Grimmauld. "How is he?"

"Woozy," Sirius said. "He essentially took a bludger to the head."

"Silly boy," Severus sighed.

"He's an adult, an Auror, doing his job," Sirius said firmly.

Severus rubbed his hands on his face. "That is still... difficult to process."

"I know," Sirius admitted. "I worry, too."

Embrace

Harry hesitated for a moment. Then thought fuck this! and reached out to take Severus into a warm embrace.

It only took an obviously startled Severus a moment to relax and return the embrace.

"This is nice," Harry said softly.

"It is," Severus whispered.

Prison

"I never realized how much of my life... my life before... was a prison," Severus admitted as they sat in front of a fire. "This life I've been given has freedoms I barely knew existed."

"Is the mind healer helping?" Harry asked.

"Definitely," Severus nodded. "Before... such an admission would have been showing weakness I could not afford."

Sandals

Harry smothered a laugh.

"Sandals are perfectly adequate footwear for tropical summer days," Severus said stiffly.

"No! Sorry!" Harry apologized. "It's... unexpected?"

Severus brought out his wand and transfigured Harry's trainers into sandals.

"Fair enough," Harry smiled as he wiggled his bare toes.

Picnic

"Minty packed a basket of food for us," Harry admitted. "I couldn't not take it."

"Minty's food is always welcome," Severus admitted.

"Do you have time for a break? We could have a picnic in your office," Harry suggested.

"Let me add the rose oil to the potion and I will turn it over to Cordelia," Severus replied.

"How is she doing?" Harry asked.

"Very well," Severus admitted.

Strawberries

Peering in the sweet shop window, Harry admitted, "Chocolate covered strawberries are over-rated in my mind. Unless they're freshly made, or held in stasis, the strawberry becomes too mushy for my taste."

"We could make our own, and you can share which variation you like best," Severus suggested.

"That would be fun!" Harry nodded.

"You don't have to buy another home," Sirius protested. "You and Severus are welcome to live at Grimmauld as long as you like."

"I just thought... maybe you'd like some privacy yourself," Harry said. "You can have... friends over. Or whatever..."

"There are charms for that," Sirius laughed.

"Meh. It's also part of my effort to stimulate the economy, as StoneAxe would say," Harry admitted.

Harry knew the thong would be a bold choice, but he wanted to show off.

"Brat!" Severus' arms came around him. "Showing so much of yourself!"

"I thought it would get your attention!" Harry smiled as he leaned in for a kiss."

Harry woke in a white room. He sighed.

"ZIR!" he shouted.

"Calm down," Zir soothed. "Just wanted a chat. See how things are going..."

"You couldn't visit the house like you normally do?" Harry pouted.

"Well, I was trying to be... sensitive..." Zir admitted. "In case Severus was... visiting..."

Harry blushed.

Ice Cream

"You have dripped ice cream." Severus pointed to Harry's chin.

A pink tongue darted out, trying to capture the treat.

"That is what napkins are for," Severus grumped as he reached over and used his napkin to clean up Harry's chin.

Harry swiped his tongue at Severus' hand, grinning as Severus blushed.

Candy

Harry had coaxed both Sirius and Severus to see another film with him.

"We all need to get out of the house," Harry said firmly, and had smiled when they both gave in.

"The best part of being an adult is that we can eat all the candy!" Harry announced as they made their way into the theatre.

Assuage

"My grandmother says you were my dad's best friend," Teddy said to Sirius. He turned to Severus. "And that you went to school with him?"

Harry had to assuage the grief that came from Sirius, that he had not known that Remus had died in the War. Harry hoped meeting with Teddy would help, that something of Remus still existed.

"Tell me about him?" Teddy asked. "Both of you!"

"Your mother was a voracious reader," Severus said. "She was always in the library at Hogwarts."

"Like Hermione," Harry smiled.

"They would have been good friends," Severus admitted.

"More like they would have taken over everything, if they had ever gotten together," Harry laughed.
