Falco Grice Theory

Anyone else find it interesting and also extremely unsettling that Falco had a dream where he saw the future? The first episode of season 4 opens up with Falco disoriented and confused, thinking he was flying around with a sword, that there were Titans everywhere. As a manga reader, this obviously caused me to pause and take note. I mean, damn, Falco admits that he saw himself flying during the battle that takes place in chapter 135.

Of course, that’s not what has me feeling unsettled. What bothers me is that he’s seen the future in a dream. This is no coincidence. Season 1 opens up with Eren waking up from a dream, disoriented in the same manner that Falco was. However, whereas Eren doesn’t remember anything about his dream, Falco remembers one specific part, and that’s him flying as a falcon during a battle with Titans. Not only is this foreshadowing, but it’s also giving us information about Falco’s abilities as a future Titan shifter...

We know from Season 3 that the Attack Titan operates differently from the other Titans. That the users are able to see memories of future users. It has not been revealed as to whether this is something other Titan shifters are able to do or not, the Attack Titan seemingly unique in this ability. We see Kruger telling Grisha that in order to save Mikasa and Armin and everyone else, that he needs to see this through. But neither Grisha or Kruger know who those people are, showing that Kruger is accessing Eren’s memories of the future, despite the fact that Eren wasn’t even born yet.

Needless to say, I’m a little distraught by the meaning of all this. If Falco has access to his future memories before even receiving his Titan abilities, like Eren did all those years ago, does that mean that Falco eventually takes possession of the Attack Titan? Does he end up eating Eren in the end?

I also thought it extremely interesting that Ymir failed to kill any of the Titan shifters in the most recent chapter. Armin, Reiner, and Pieck are all still alive, despite the fact that she could’ve easily had them killed. This is no coincidence, I’m sure. Ymir is trying to collect the Titan shifters, bring them to Eren, perhaps, so that she can reunite her fragmented soul.

Obviously Falco plays a big part in all this, but I can’t stop thinking about the fact that he’s seen the future through a dream, just like other Attack Titan shifters have. Is this pointing to the fact that Falco might end up eating Eren in the end, or does it mean something else? What do you guys think?

Armin & Ymir

I see some having a meltdown on what happened with Armin. It could be shock value, but honestly, it's easily explainable.

Ymir and Eren seem to have some sort of understanding with each other. Ymir might as well also be a goddess at this point--she likely knows about Armin's abilities in his speech. He is also a product of her and knows he is a titan holder.

This is likely why the Titan shoved its tongue in Armin's mouth--so he could not bite down and transform. A titan holding him in its hands will likely introduce too many risks to him escaping/being freed, so putting Armin in the mouth of a shifter was the best alternative. The SC did the same with putting a cloth in Annie's mouth to prevent her from biting herself.

That's why, at least for me, that panel doesn't shock me at all. It's tactfully necessary from Ymir's perspective.

If anything, Armin being where he is has me think that Bert memory is on the horizon--something I've really wanted these past few months. Armin thinks he is about to die, so this may introduce more flashbacks next chapter or even an interaction with Ymir.

But if Armin tries talk no jutsu on Ymir tho....idk lol. For me, I guess it depends on how its executed. I'm very on the fence with it.
