i much prefer those work meetings in which i'm taking notes on a bunch of doctors talking about extremely specialized medical things i don't know anything about using 100 acronyms i've never heard of to those work meetings where my boss drones on for an hour about things i understand but find boring. like okay i'm awake i'm awake! and now i have a fun puzzle to solve called looking up all the phonetic spellings i used in my notes and trying to figure out what real-life cancer therapies they presumably correspond to. enrichment in my enclosure.

Ω’Ω  Ψ±Ω…ΨΆΨ§Ω† Ω‘Ω€Ω€Ω’ (20th Ramadan 1442, 2021) : Layla-tul-Qadr
Ψ§Ψ³Ω„Ψ§Ω… ΨΉΩ„ΩŠΩƒΩ… (peace be upon you) πŸ™‚
yes I skipped 5 whole days... but blogging really wasn't my aim in Ramadan, it just happened. πŸ’πŸ»β€β™€οΈ
The past 5 days have been busy and a bit of a blur.. the weather is changing and full on summers are upon us. I keep waiting for rain though cause the clouds kind of gather every evening, grumble and then leave without pouring. this reminds of the one quote about Ramadan: "Rajab is like the wind, and Shaban is like the clouds and Ramadan is like the rain" and also "who ever does not plant in Rajab, and does not water in Shaban, then how does he expect to harvest in Ramadan?"
P.S it rained 😁 video at end. Rain makes me happy. Yes I'm a cliché ✌🏻
The last ten nights of Ramadan are upon us, and what makes this night so special is that this was the night our Beloved Prophet (SAW) was revealed the Quran to for the first time.
Allah says in the Quran: "the night of decree is better than a thousand months" (97:3)
In another Hadis narrated by Aisha (RA), Allah's Messenger (SAW) said: "Search for the night of Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan (Bukhari)."
So for this year (2021, 1442 AH), if you started Ramadan on the 14th of April, your odd nights land on 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th (and 13th if we get 30 fasts instead of 29)
P.P.S Chaand Raat, or the night of moon sighting for shawal/eid is also a night you should spend in the remembrance of Allah. It is the night of Ar'afa. More on this in another post if I decide to write any more blog posts after this..πŸ™ƒ
Our Honorable Prophet (SAW) says: "who ever prays on Laylatul Qadr out of faith and sincerity, shall have all their past sins forgiven." (Bukhari)
In essence, the month of Ramadan is all about forgiveness and if you do not get yourself forgiven by Him in this month, you have lost a huge opportunity!
There are so many deeds you can perform on each night: quran recitation, sadaqah (charity), dhikr (rememberance of Allah), tahajjud, saying nawafal.
This video by Yaqeen Institiute highlights 5 deeds you can perform on the night off.
Other deeds that I've been performing regularly from the past two Ramadan's are:
Every night give one rupee (or 10) as charity, whenit lands on the Night of Qadr , that one rupee charity will reap you swab as if you've given charity for 48 years.
offer two rakhats every night, when it lands on the Night of Decree, it will be equal to you worshipping Allah for 48 years.
and lastly, recite Surah Ikhlas 3 times every night, When it Lands on the Night of Power , it will be equal to one Quran a year for 48 years! Imagine the Sawab here.. for context, linking this video here so you understand how immense the Swaab is for each of these three deeds.
These are recommended by Imam-e-Kaba, Sheikh Sudais. πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‡
Also, read this tweet on twitter on the wisdom behind why the night of Layaltul Qadr is concealed and I love it:
"Why did Allah conceal Laylat al-Qadr?He could have made it a specific night so people could be completely prepared for it.But it is concealed in order that the believer remains in a state of anticipation – awaiting and hoping for the bounty of Allah. Thus his connection to Allah is not based upon one specific time which comes and goes and then he turns away from Allah and gets on with something else. This is the divine wisdom. Furthermore that anticipation of Allah’s bounty nurtures a state of knowledge of Allah in the heart – the more you turn to Him the more you seek His pleasure, the more you hope for His gifts the more light increases in your heart.
Allah says in the hadith qudsi: β€œI am as my servant perceives Me.
”The more you think good of Him, the more good grows in your heart; the more you believe He will give you, the more He will give you. This develops and nurtures your relationship with Allah which is the secret behind Laylat al-Qadr, the secret behind Ramadan and the secret behind every act of worship.– Habib Ali al-Jifri"
Isn't that something!? πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯Ί
I hope that when Allah accepts duas on this night, yours and mine is one of them, when He forgives His slaves, you and I, are one of them and when He showers his blessings and mercy, you and I are of the lot. May we have a place in Jannah (heaven). in sha Allah and Ameen.
