Valentina was putting up posters for the cheer team’s next fund raising event. It will benefit the arts department as well. She knows how important the arts department can be to some people. She’s the cheer captain and student president so, she has taken charge of this recent fund raiser. The girls have decided to put on a bake sale, which will require actual baked goods to be brought with appropriate allergy guidelines followed. She and several other trusted cheerleaders will vet the food brought in. They’re trying to get other people to volunteer, the cheer team can’t do it on their own. She’s been hanging posters up and asking around. She’s gotten a few people to commit to it. She stops when she sees Nate, fliers for the bake sale in her hands. She contemplates approaching her further. Gaining him as a volunteer would cause other football players to help as well as other students. He is popular after all. But, he’s always unsettled her. There was just something about him that she found….wrong. She hesitated before turning to leave, hoping he did not see her.

[ID: Digital Art in color of Trigun Maximum, characters included are Wolfwood, Elendira, and Legato in a casual meeting situation. The piece consists of orangey yellow lighting and purple shadows. Wolfwood sits on the left side, facing Elendira who’s on the right. He’s seated on a plain wooden chair with one knee up and he’s holding the strap to his Punisher in his left hand while his right sits against his thigh, He has an irritated expression as he speaks to Elendira. Elendira is sitting in a fancier seat, her right arm rests against Wolfwood’s propped up knee, her left hand holds her suitcase. She’s sitting cross legged with an amused expression. Legato can be seen in the back at the center of the image in his mobile body case, one of his eyes shown to be glaring at Wolfwood. End ID]
[ID: Sketch, uncolored comic. Elendira says to Wolfwood, “I’m not telling you to dedicate yourself to him, but just accept the situation at hand. We could get along better if we were on the same page.” Wolfwood responds, “Don’t peg me me for an optimist. I’m not dumb. But, I’m also not going to just live in resignation. Plus, I don’t have any interest in getting along with ya.” Elendira coos, “Aw, you sure? I have a wonderful shoulder to cry on when the weak people you’re trying to protect eventually dies in the coming months. Though, I guess it’s fine. Someone like you might just die before then anyway...” She snickers in her hand while Wolfwood is speechless and just glares. Legato is faintly drawn in the back, glaring at Wolfwood, muttering “worthless” repetitively. End ID]

the chunin exams arc was so interesting for how it portrayed sakura's potential and how people in her life influenced it. kakashi lying about the team-based enrollment criteria because he thinks sakura would be likely to sign up only to appease sasuke, and being genuinely surprised when she shows up anyway. naruto being completely oblivious when sakura was upset preceding the exams and also after she cut her hair in the forest of death. naruto literally dreaming about saving sakura from enemies, being the hero to her damsel-in-distress. sakura moulding herself into a perfectly feminine lady because that's what society demanded and what she thought sasuke would want. versus sasuke calling her out for focusing too much on romance instead of her skills like she should be doing. sasuke picking up that she was upset because she felt inadequate and reminding her of what she was best at -- maybe even better than him -- and never begrudging her for it. ino hacking into her mind because she was sure, not a single doubt in her mind, that sakura would know the answers to the impossible questions on the written exam. ino and sasuke both stepping in to save her during her fight with the sound nin, but only after being spurred on by the brutal beating she took. ino and sasuke getting frustrated with naruto when he commented on how her haircut looked because it made sakura trivialize her experience and offer a fake explanation about women being fickle. the flashbacks revealing to us that ino affirmed that she would one day bloom into a beautiful flower. ino and sasuke serving as a catalyst for sakura to get stronger before pt 1 and pt 2 respectively. idk do you see what i'm seeing

Shooting stars burn bright and fast, and then they're gone.
Bill calls Mabel "Shooting Star."
Because of the first sweater we see her in? Yes.
Only because of the first sweater we see her in? . . . Doubtful.
Mabel is effervescent, a force of nature. In a recent YouTube interview, Alex Hirsch described her as extremely passionate, always moving so fast from idea to idea, from thing to thing. The reason why shooting stars glow is because of the speed at which they move through the atmosphere; shooting stars move at hypersonic speeds, and those speeds create friction between the gases of our atmosphere and the meteor itself. That friction creates an immense amount of heat and pressure around the meteor, which creates the flame and the glow that we see down below.
This description encapsulates Mabel. She feels every emotion with everything she has, and when she has a new idea or whim, she throws herself into it 100%, not pausing to give anything a chance to get in her way. She's fast, fierce, and bright; she captures the attention and hearts of everyone around her.
But here's the other thing about shooting stars: the heat that allows them to glow also destroys them. The vast majority of meteors turn to ash long before they ever have a chance of reaching Earth's surface. They dissolve before we ever feel them at all.
When you think about the pitch for season two where it would have opened with Dipper's future self coming back to try to change the past because his Mabel had died . . . when you think about how, in the season two that we did get, Bill was going to kill Mabel in the final Weirdmageddon episode, her shooting star symbol looming in his eye as he prepared to snap his fingers on the word "you" . . .
Shooting stars burn fast and bright, and then they're gone. It's interesting to think about how close that came to being true for Mabel -- how both the good and bad aspects of the shooting star imagery could come into play for her character and story arc.

I am alone on this barren earth (Jason Todd liker and Mia Dearden liker who honestly thinks issues 69-72 of the 2001 Green Arrow run are fun and good and would really like to talk about them beyond "Jason Todd was ooc and irredeemable there because he was trauma-dumping on Mia but also everything he said was fake and made up and he was manipulating her to become his sidekick and he blew up her school in retaliation because she didn't so really we should ignore the whole comic as bad writing /or agree he should just be read as an sadistic sidekick killer" (None of which is true and over half of which is directly stated to be false in the comic's text) but all people ever have to say about the comic is weird wrong takes about the three pages in which the gym fight happens ripped out of the very interesting and fun surrounding context)

I love my girl Elain with long hair and know she's 100% a long hair girlie but I saw this picture on Pinterest and am thinking about her needing a drastic change. She channels her inner I'm Just a Girl ™️ (because almost all of us immediately need to do something with our hair the second we feel something) and she does a big chop, living her "short hair don't care" life for a while. She rocks it.
