Descrição enviada pela equipe de projeto. Este estúdio é um anexo à uma residência contemporânea existente. A adição deste projeto ao local forneceu um pano de fundo e um suporte para um pátio existente e uma área externa em torno da fogueira.

Para distinguir o estúdio da residência existente, trabalhou-se sua própria identidade. A maneira pela qual o anexo encontra o solo foi executada para minimizar o impacto na paisagem existente. A estrutura do piso com vigas de aço e o deck de concreto composto são sustentados por seis pilares de concreto com 36” de diâmetro, permitindo que o estúdio “flutue”, tocando o solo apenas nesses seis locais. O desenho distingue ainda esta nova adição em contraste com a laje convencional da residência principal existente.

O revestimento do estúdio é composto, em grande parte, por painéis de aço padrão A106, de 10 ”e 12” de altura. Usando o módulo padrão obteve-se um tempo mínimo de preparação e fabricação. O envidraçamento com isolamento reflexivo de alto desempenho térmico é usado em todas as aberturas do projeto. Este envidraçamento isolante é configurado com uma superfície refletora que permite a máxima rejeição de calor enquanto oferece a maior reflexão. A combinação destes dois materiais para o revestimento da obra procura complementar, absorver e refletir a paisagem existente. Além disso, a escolha dos materiais distingue a adição da paleta existente.

O espaço interior é configurado como um plano aberto para permitir que o lugar seja usado como um estúdio do artista ou espaço de galeria. Três grandes divisórias móveis podem ser configuradas de várias maneiras para permitir a diversidade espacial e aumentar a área de superfície para expor o trabalho do artista. Um sistema integrado para sustentar as obras de arte é incorporado e detalhado com o drywall. As portas de vidro deslizantes celebram e integram a paisagem desértica enquanto a configuração das janelas permite vistas do pátio existente e da Montanha Camelback.

Este estúdio envolve as circunstâncias do local, estabelecendo deliberadamente a sua própria língua que é, ao mesmo tempo, um claro contraste com a residência principal existente, mas que mantém o respeito pela paisagem da região. Traduzido por Camilla Sbeghen
