MAY FIC REC
I’m quite bad at bookmarking or keeping tabs of the stories I’ve read, but I love making lists, so I decided to make a Fic Rec at the end of the month with the fics I loved the most. (The idea is to make one at the end of every month, but we’ll see how consistent I’ll be. Spoiler: not much.)
Keep in mind that I’m still fairly new to the fandom, so this will be an odd mix of old and new stories. In no particular order:
- Lethe and Mnemosyne by montparnasse: Winter '79. Looking to get out from under the black-hole overhang of wartime, Sirius and Remus take off to play house on the Cornish moors. It goes downhill from there.
- Combat Rock by Kettle/trailingoff: We don’t know how to fight for what we want.
- Not if it’s you by @majorkey/estas_absentis: In 1985, Remus Lupin is getting by, raising Harry, and trying not to think about the past. When Sirius gets a new trial, that past becomes impossible to ignore. Art by Chiru.
- full moon twofold by renaissance: Remus never settles anywhere for long, but the unconditional offer of a roof over his head for a month is more than he can bring himself to turn down. Sirius is back home, one foot in each camp as he plays the role of the dutiful son to gather information for the Order. Learning to trust in stability can be just as frightening as embracing disruption. Like all good stories, this one has two sides. Art by Chiru.
- you already know how this will end by RedHorse: Remus knows everything there is to know about himself. Really. Art by saveyourself13.
- Come back, move forward by @wolfstarhq/NachoDiablo: AU where Sirius raised Harry and taught at Hogwarts while that arsehole Remus fucked off to do Merlin-knows-what. Not that Sirius gives one shit about it, of course.
- Something Else by @hp-shessocold/shessocold: What Remus wants, Sirius gives a shot to.
- Resignation’s Ouverture by @chromat1cs/Chromat1cs: Seeing Sirius Black trapped in a prison of someone else’s design is far less than unfair, especially since he’s only just scraped his way out from one.
