How was she indeed. Being upset or anything seemed out the question having told herself to get used to the disappearing act of said friend. With a sigh she shakes her head unable to help the smile, “you and your disappearing...it’s good to see you again, Doc. I’m well just roaming.”

Rot jerks upright then turns to see who had approached him. Blurry smudges with fuzzy splotches blotted out most of his vision, but he could still make out a familiar silhouette. “never better.” He lifts himself to his feet with a huff and dusts himself off without bothering to look. “i can just barely see ya there, stranger, heh heh, but it’s all good.” He walks over to his alternate and extends a hand. There are no buzzers or cushions waiting. “name’s rot, smells real nice here.” He takes in a deep breath, forgetting the device sizzling in the snow until he smells the smoke. “d’ya see a box around here? it might be buried in the snow a lil.” He looks around, but misses the box entirely.

        The silence in her dark, snowy surroundings was troubling, mostly because last she had checked, it was supposed to be two in the afternoon, and she was supposed to be in southern New Mexico, where it never snowed, at least not in the Spring. The silence was soon broken by the sound of light feet crunching in the snow nearby.

      Prepping her metal fist, she waited until the crunching stopped. Pulling her shaded goggles off her face and around her neck to see in the dark better, her eyes narrowed when she saw the figure. A skeleton in a dark robe... or at least she thought it might be a skeleton-- it looked kinda melted. Surprisingly, she didn’t seem too spooked by him.

       “Seriously, Merasmus? Skeletons again?” She muttered out loud. The snow was new though, she’d give him that-- but this time it wasn’t even Halloween.

“That’s a secret!” 

She sticks her tongue out at the other, giving a small almost over exaggerated wink, rocking herself back and forth on her feet. Instead of being anxious as usual, she seemed almost excited, welcoming the change of pace that the other brought with them.

“Well, dress me up and call me a salad! If it ain’t th’ big G!” Robotic hands clasped together, leaning from side to side as they considered. After a few moments, the display for their face flickered to show a frown instead. “Ah, you’re not our Gaster. Too...” FRIEND made a bit of a ‘blegh’ sort of noise, waggling their fingers before bouncing in place.

“Well then, I guess I should do the thing! Howdy! It’s me, your new FRIEND!” Petals turn gold, smile widening as they waved. “Do ya need a tutorial on how things work around here? Just ask your new pal! I’ll be happy t’ help!”

what sans expects to see when he leaves his house for work is a fairly quiet street and nondescript storefront of what had once been grillby’s, probably.

what he expects to see is the occasional child running to catch the bus, or undyne directing traffic, or maybe even toriel stopping by on her way to the school.

what he expects to see is not another skeleton standing on the sidewalk in front of the grocery store, just looking at it.

Been a minute since she’s seen the doc and time wasn’t on her side these days. Serinaty would like to make some more proper memories so brought him a gift, more books on the archaeology of things in the world, and some more science books since he seemed to like that stuff. “Hey doc how are you?”

A part of her was hoping these things would help him find a way free. She wished he could find freedom.

Rory thought to their self. The human was sitting behind one of the (many) trees in Snowdin, trying to steady their breathing. Their soul was thrumming LOUDLY inside of their chest, mind racing as they listened to the sound of steady footsteps approaching...

“Because I can be mistaken, little Sentry. For all I know, you’re someone entirely different.” Angel stated, chin slightly tucked in as if to assert her previous question. It wasn’t so much that she doubted his name. Of course, it wouldn’t mean a thing if she heard it from her own lips. As well as this, for all she knew, this skeleton was another entirely. The similarities began and ended in only smile and color choice. No no, the voice was similar, too. 

“Are you going to leave me picking at the bones or are you going to give me something to sink my teeth into, Unflesh?” she tittered, heels bouncing again and again off the ground-- toes sliding back and forth along the surface. “It would be rude to call you by race and title alone, no?”
