I finally saw the eighth episode of Carnival Row last night. Last actual film was Doolittle with my kids, which would have been much better if RDJ hadn’t overdubbed himself in post with a truly horrendous Welsh accent. (And if Welshman Michael Sheen hadn’t been standing RIGHT THERE through the whole darn thing. Sacrilegious.)

Currently reading:

Ah ha ha ha. Lots of Good Omens fanfic. But aside from that…

Far From the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy (for the second or third time, in order to Shout About It Angrily at/with @poetic----nonsense). It’s voluntary self-punishment, because I loathe Thomas Hardy. His pastoral descriptions and ambiance are lovely. His misogyny is not.

The Brothers Sinister series by Courtney Milan (I don’t know where, it’s one giant ebook, I think I’m halfway through?).

The Wild Remedy by Emma Mitchell, one month at a time, roughly contemporary with whatever month it is.

Innumerable books of which I have read the first few pages and then lost track of while fanfic drowned me. I am so sorry, abandoned books piled on the bedside table, I really am. (How behind am I? I have two recent unread Seanan McGuire books plus the last half of Middlegame, the two last Elizabeth Bear books, the last Guy Gavriel Kay, and the latest Erin Morgenstern. All of which I preordered in hardcover because I was eager to read them.)

I just finished The Hand On the Wall by Maureen Johnson, the third in the Truly Devious trilogy. A very satisfactory ending to the series.
