Sora to Hara is out in English!! :D

EEEEEEE SORA TO HARA IS OFFICIALLY OUT IN ENGLISH!!! :D :D :D The story that features my favorite Doukyusei boy Sorano is finally here, I AM SO HAPPY! :D :D :D It’s called Classmates vol 4: Sora & Hara in the English release. I’m so excited that everyone can now read about this shrewd chaotic good goofball! :D

It has the same translator, Jocelyne Allen, as the previous Doukyuusei/Classmates volumes and once again she delivered an absolutely fantastic translation! :D Sorano often uses extremely casual masculine speech and slang, way more so than the other characters when speaking in regular casual speech or even regular masculine speech. It can be hard to translate into English, so many official translations kind of ignore it and just make it sound like it had been regular casual. I think she did an excellent job conveying that difference where it occurred!  I know that many people hate Hara for how horrible he was in vol 1-3. But this is the volume where thanks to Sorano pushing him, he starts to have a change of heart and a change of character. 

It’s also where we get to know Koma-chan, Hibiki, and Arisaka! And Kusakabe and Sajou appear in 2 chapters, one of which is a short chapter full of cute Kusajou moments. ^_^

So please support the official English release of Doukyuusei/Classmates by buying this and all the other volumes! It’s available at all the usual places that sell manga, both physically and digitally, and so far vol 1-4 are out. O.B. (vol 5 & 6) will be in an omnibus format released in April 2022, but some stores have pre-orders up already. When I was listing out my favorite characters for the About Me page, it reminded me of a post I saw here years ago about how when you line up your favorite characters from your fandoms it will be clear you have A Type (tm). Looking at them lined up where 3 of my top 5 are basically the same character in a different font and the other 2 are quite similar, I’d say yes, yes I do have A Type (tm). 😂

This is for Doukyuusei Week 2021 Day 7: Free Day! :D I didn’t have time to do my initial idea for the AU prompt option for today because it would have involved 6 characters. ^^;  So instead I went with the Free Day prompt option and drew Sorano doing one of his model photoshoots in a field of hydrangeas! ^_^ Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers and I think Sorano’s pink hair will look really nice against the blue/pink/purple shades of the hydrangeas once I get a chance to paint it. :D

Blanc Ch 11 translation

So if you want to read it, go buy the official version or request it from your public library! :D  Below the cut is my translation for Blanc Ch 11! Aka THE WEDDING CHAPTER!! :D I AM SO HAPPY FOR KUSAKABE AND SAJOU!! :D

I was told Honyakusuru already translated this, but I had to do my own translation for Zandynofansub’s scanlation and I like to have all my translations on my tumblr for consistency’s sake. I’m so frustrated it took me this long to finish this chapter. T_T But between everything that happened last year and everything that’s happened this year (I had to deal with a lot of life things such as moving to a new state and Murphy’s Law has been relentlessly following me around this year @_@), I feel like finding time and mental energy to work on it at all is an accomplishment. >_< But I did my best to be sure it’s as accurate as possible! ^_^ Like with the kanji for Kinosaki’s first name that could be read as either Hideto or Shuuto, the kanji for Tani’s first name could be read as either Naohito or Naoto and the kanji for his wife’s first name could be read as either Maaya, Maya, or Aya. I went with Naohito for Tani because I’ve seen that name more frequently in mangas I’ve read. As for his wife, I thought it was cute that she might have a similar name as their daughter, Mayumi. But Miyamura’s first name is Maya, so I went with Maaya to make it slightly different than that and still have that Ma starting sound.

As always, please support Nakamura-sensei and buy the mangas if you’re able! Vol 1-3 of Doukyuusei are already available in English (they call it Classmates) at pretty much all places that sell mangas. Vol 4 (Sora to Hara) will be officially released in English from Seven Seas in November 2021, and a combined omnibus of vol 5 and 6 (OB) will be released in April 2022. Without words on how to explain my love for this man, I understand why people hate him so much, but whether you like it or not, Hara-sen is a character in Doukyuusei, and a simple comment from a hater will not erase Hara's GREAT development in Doukyuusei and especially in Sora to Hara. A lot of people say that Kusakabe hates Hara, but then why did he invite him to his wedding with Sajou? To show him that he has Sajou? Who wants to prove something? Oh no bro, please. I don't pass on what Hara did, but people must understand that he has development as a character in Doukyuusei. Hara-sen, you is the best 😔🤲.

This is for Doukyuusei Week 2021 Day 1: Karaoke! :D Back when Nakamura Asumiko was taking suggestions for the Opera Subscriber Bonus Booklet comic, I suggested Sorano, Hara, and Koma at karaoke. She didn’t do that (although I feel like I still won because there was a Sorano, Hara, and Koma comic in it :D ), so I’ve wanted to draw such a scene ever since. This prompt seemed like the perfect time to do it! :D Hara strikes me as the type to get REALLY into karaoke, especially when drunk. XD 

Life had been so insanely busy in the time since they announced the prompts, so I only was able to get sketches done for each day. >_< But I do have a completed sketch for each day and will do my best to get at least some painted before they stop taking submissions!
