not really at least in the same way? i don't think!! :0 w steve we have a lot of basis to go off of bc we get 4 seasons of specific characterisation expressly to do with how he interacts with romance + girls + his own reputation thereupon so it's really fun to extract stuff from that but with eddie he's sort of more of a blank slate but also funnily, in comparison, we do get a LOT of character building back story and development even through implication that makes it a different kind of interesting thing to gather stuff from 🤔 it's also funny that we know way more about eddie's home life than robin OR steve's LOL literally just funny...

i think it's fun that the gay hc is so popular with eddie and i get it he is a little gayboy tbh and i also think it ties in significantly with how... you can tell from extrapolation and just basic like, relation that eddie is this guy who was outcast by society BEFORE he developed his own counterculture against it and the way he wears his specific type of anti authoritarian anti mainstream bubble wrap is in line i think with some sort of intrinsic part of him, and others, that he may feel he needs to protect and defend against. a not insignificant part of a lot of actual counterculture is being against the bigotry and oppression that goes hand in hand with society at large and, fundamentally, the loudest voices against oppression and the leading forefront will always be and SHOULD always be the victim and survivors of it, and a gay metalhead with a punk rock attitude in the 80s is the easiest thing in the world to imagine. i think we as like lgbt people and anyone else who has a certain hand in... allyship can pick up on this really easily with eddie and see ourselves in that part of him that feels different than the same vein social ostracisation like, dustin and mike go through, even if on the surface it appears similar.

so yeah basically i think he's literally gay. i don't know if the quote unquote gay CODING was intentional and i'm going to go with a definitive Not but i will enjoy the spoils nonetheless. i also think it's significant that a lot of the real life inspiration for eddie specifically WERE gay kids and probably that is where this unintentional coding springs from... the hunt the freak line is a very important one to me as well for this specifically with that it's him and robin, a canonical gay woman, meeting him on his level without skipping a beat. this is also where i disagree that obviously his death was not "bury your gays" because anything picked up on was not something that was figuratively put down 😭😭 the duffers did not have EDDIE circled on a whiteboard with 💯 GAY -> pointed to it we literally just think he's gay.

also just bc i kind of side stepped the sexuality hc itself unintentionally HEH i think he could also be bi sure and all this remain true!!! though i don't think he had any feelings for chrissy (and to me reading that scene as him having a crush on her comes off... different. soz.) potential age gap notwithstanding. i think bi eddie could be fun and also hilarious bc it means he had even more of a quote unquote chance and still erm. committed virgin sacrifice </3 i do agree with the like general consensus of him being bi feels different if only because erm... there is a lack of actual evidence that he is inclined one way or the other and being assumptive of his supposed attraction to women in order to undercut the gayness is like a very classic homophobic. thing. and also weirdos ruin it

if eddie is bisexual i think it is purely in theory for him as well as us (lol) and he would probably be SO annoying stoner-esque "why limit your love to just one half of the population mannn" type about it despite never getting any bc he's scared of girls in a gayboy way. also i do not see truly any part of him being some sort of behind the scenes suave seductor of women DESPITE what the horny minded may or may not think... he is not looming over any girl being some sort of manic pixie edward cullen reject he goes home and neurodiversely plays the same chord over and over again on his guitar then passes out wearing jeans he is literally a wet eyed loser not a wattpad BAD BOY. Seeing msr posts every day for weeks and months? Seeing the height difference and soft gazes and aliens (aliens!!)? Reading your meta tags and thinking “if only I Truly Understood”? Each one chipped away at me until I was finally ready to start watching.

Do you watch the episodes when they air? usually not being a brit who doesnt have hbo  i watch like a day or two later when it airs on sky Atlantic  or on now  tv the first three i watched on dvd from a friend who had the boxset it was when we were sharing a house walked in  the logue one  Morning and she watching it and its that bit where the mountain cuts off the horses head and im like what the hell are you watching ?? i just woke up i wasnt expecting violence this early in the morning ? and then sat down and watched it with her and im like and watched the whole rest of season   one and im like what the hell is this show  ??  ....is there more ?? btw my brother said he got half way through season one and said it  was boring im like season ones the best ?? and hes like oh i dont enjoy  historical drama im not interested in medieval history and im like face palm he thinks this is historical and he also doesnt like history wtf i mean  how am  i related to this fool but yeah thats tangent  and i told him get to ep nine so he could see ned stark beheading he said maybe but if i agreed to watch stranger things with him lol :/ 

How often do you rewatch it? Do you rewatch it from season one? ive re watched all the way  it through a few times but usually would only watch my fav episodes ive seen the red wedding so many times though because wed always watch it with some friend whos just getting into and hasnt seen that one yet so we can see their reaction 

Do you rewatch the previous episode before the next one airs? Not usually on each  occasion but my aunt and uncle always do so when i watch with them i do  

Do you eat anything while watching? if so, what do you eat? not usually a proper meal but  i might have snack like crisps or popcorn unless its a glory scene 

One character that everyone seems to like that you don’t care much for hmm cersei ?? and i didnt lime petyr baelish much but he seemed popular at least among my friends  but i do agree he shouldnt had a better death scene they took all the cleverness out of him and though i hadnt liked him it was a shame in a way like the couldnt find way him to go down in a clever interesyting way so they had to dumb him right down  book pb wouldnt get caught like that people like show euron apparently me  hmm not show much to put it nicely also ave mixed feelings about stannis book book and show wise and i like jon but hes not the ultimate  hyped favourite like he is with a lot of people and perfer theon to him tbh

Favourite scene: robb getting crowded any scene where theon smiles  theons monologue  theon and sansa hug jon and sansa arya sansa hug jon and ygritte kissing on the wall jaime jumping to save brienne theons speeches both tyrions speeches both but the one in season one was really funny tyrion dragging the chair across the room when everyone is is science idk that cracked  me up bronn duelling for tyrion the one where Catelyn announces to everyone that (she thinks)  tyrion tried to kill bran cause that was the first ep id seen thats the bit that got me hooked  theon getting back up and fighting that ironborn guy pdrick saving tyrion  and i still maintain that viserys had the best death also not to be a basic bitch but that first time dany does her fire thing in season one i was #stunned 

One character you wish got more appreciation: theon duh #nomoredickjokes2018 but also meera and jojen too i suppose  and shireen and sansa and they could've (shouldve) done more with myrcella and tommen   and brienne too was underused and gendry also idk if if i like the way the tried to iron the grey parts out of tyrion and jon  and bran i wish they done brans story better and wed have got that tree scene with theon also as a disabled gal  certain comments some people make about uselessness of bran sometimes make me uncomfy tbh 

Fanfic or nah? i usually only read theon based ones and thats usually just theon robb theon sansa or sometimes theon jeyne p cause i cant do bolton heavy stuff im a whimp  but i read the occasion jon / ygritte or jaime / brienne and once i tried theon jon  but i wasnt sold soz :/ i read theon ygritte once as well  that actualy worked surprising well and theon domeric .. aha  thats mine  and @blueagia s baby

 i liked season six   better than season 7 or 5 but it made me lol in a way cause it seemed like they went ok ok you didnt like it last time when we killed all the women we heard you! we did ! weve changed things yes  so how about this instead ...   the woman kill everyone ! yea ? you like that ? we good now ?  sweet as ! put more women killing eveyone into season 7 dave we on the money

On a scale of deffs gonna die to probs gonna die... S8E2 recap and S8E3 predictions

Aloha Brodie, here is my recap for S8E2.

I’m gonna do this a little differently - with the Battle of Winterfell happening on Monday (RIP my soul) and a lot of characters dying in the battle, I’m going to rate each character on a scale from Probs Gonna Die, Legit Might Die and Deffs Dying based off their plot lines in Ep 2. There is no safe on this rating scale, because let’s be honest... no one is safe in this episode.

Cos we got a lot of full circle moments, lots of characters achieved things they’ve been working towards for a long time, so that means they’re dying. Soz I don’t make the rules, I just recap them.

Let’s start with our forever third wheel, Ser Jorah. J Dawg starts the ep by counselling Dany to forgive Tyrion. It seems he’s accepted that he’s never going to get her love (in the way he wants it) and that he’s never going to be the brains she needs (that she gets from Tyrion). Next time we see him, he’s asking / telling his cousin, badass boss bitch Lyanna Mormont to go to the crypts where it’s safe and she’s all Beyonce about it and basically starts singing Girls (Who Run The World) to shut him up. Such a badass. And then, Sam interrupts to give Jorah his family sword. He makes this whole speech about how Jorah’s daddy-o aka Lord Commander Jeor from the Nights Watch was like a father to Sam etc etc etc and if he can’t have Jeor’s sword (remember, Jeor gave the fam sword to Jonny boy, but changed the Bear on the hilt to a Wolf, and thats now Jon’s  sword Longclaw) then he’d like Jorah to have the Tarly fam sword. This is a circle closing for J Dawg, so I’m rating him a Deffs Dying. RIP Jorah.

Moving on to our KWEEN ICON M’LADY Brienne of Tarth. Darling Brienne, I genuinely hope she doesn’t die yet. God I love her. She starts the ep by backing Jamie, and calling him a Man of Honour (TBT to that scene in the bath in an earlier season when she called him a Man Without Honour and he told her about WHY he killed the Mad King). Next, we see her watching Pod train other soldiers with pride in her eyes (side note - Pod got Hot?!) and then chatting with Jaime “Heart Eyes” Lannister. Jaime offers to fight under her (oo-er) as a common soldier, and it’s a real moment of respect, cos he’s showing her that he has more faith in her than he has in himself. Finally, she joins the Drinking Bros (trademark pending) by the fire. Our best bud Tormund asks why she’s not a knight. She says “Tradition” and our feminist best bud replies “FUCK TRADITION”. Cos this is a pissing contest between Tormund and Jaime who both LUUUUUURVE Brienne, Jaime then offers to make her a knight. Cue Brienne kneeling, Jaime doing the thing, and Brienne crying and smiling like the angel she is. This is legit full circle, and all signs point to death, but because I love her so, I’m rating Brienne a Legit Might Die for my own sanity. NOT A DEFFS DEAD OK.

Let’s move on to our Feminist Best Bud Tormund. I loved him tackle-hugging Jonny Boy and calling him “Little Crow” Awww! FRIENDS! He reveals he drank giants milk for 3 months and that’s why he’s so strong. Iconic. Then reveals he’s an undercover feminist out to destroy the patriarchy. Then applauds Brienne when she becomes a knight. Bro hasn’t had any circle moments, he’s not dying. He’s a Probs Gonna Die but like pretty sure not. His whole thing has been that he wants to make giant babies with Brienne, and that hasn’t happened so he’s not dying yet.

Now, Jaime. Our Kingslayer is all grown up. Buddy arrives in Winterfell and has to convince Angry Dany that he should stay. Brienne defends him, and it’s really a moment of significance for him, because he has so much love and respect for her, so it really shines through that she now has the upper hand in their relationship, which is growth for him to concede that. Then he chats with his bro Tyrion about Cersei, and Tyrion calls him out for letting Cersei get the best of him. Jaime doesn’t argue - more growth. He knows his mistakes and he’s learning from them. Then he goes down to Brienne and offers to fight FOR her, not WITH her. Buddy is giving her the power, he’s not taking it from her like he would have done in the past. So much Heart Eyes in this scene. Cut to later and they’re by the fire and he Knights her. SO MUCH CIRCLE CLOSING. I’m sorry to say it, but I think he’s gonna die on Monday. I just, I have a feeling in my gut. It’s gonna happen. Poor guy. Jaime is DEFFS DYING. Soz.

Now, our gal Arya. ARYA GOT LAID. WHAT?! I, like everyone else on the planet, had to google her age. She’s 18. And go girl for snagging your boy Gendry. That love story began in Season 1! Finally they banged. YASSSSS! But, I don’t think that’s a significant circle moment for her. There’s more to come for Arya, so she’s a PROBS GONNA DIE. 

Sansa. What a character arc that one has had. From spoiled brat to Lady of Winterfell. I enjoyed her back and forth with Dany, and her not backing down when she asked what was going to happen in the North. And I LOVED her reaction to seeing Theon. I ship them. Thesa is the hottest new couple of 2019. Gotta say though, I don’t see her dying yet. She’s going to continue to rule the North after they win. OR, she’ll be sitting on the Iron Throne. No Circle Moments here. PROBS GONNA DIE. (But like not really).

Jesus this is a long post. Not even sorry. This is basically therapy for me as I prep for Monday. 

Sam/Gilly/Baby Sam. All safe. If anyone is going to survive till the end, it’s these 3. Sam is too smart to die yet, and Gilly/Baby Sam are too resilient to die yet. PROBS GONNA DIE. Also no circle moments this ep, not really.

Edd aka the third member of the Nights Watch Bros (copyright pending). He’s the only one of the three bros who will die. They didn’t write a scene where they discussed how the last one alive has to burn the others if at least one of them isn’t gonna die. RIP Edd. DEFFS DYING.

Tyrion. Our Hand of the Queen hasn’t come full circle yet. He’s achieved a lot, and he’s almost closed the circle (the fire chat with Jaime about Self-Betterment suggests that) but he’s not quiiiiiiite there yet. More to come. I see him as Hand of whoever sits on the Iron Throne in the end. How badass would it be if Sansa sat on the Throne and Tyrion was her hand?! PROBS GONNA DIE.

The Onion Knight, Ser Davos. Poor Davos has been through some shit this series. Losing his son, then Shireen who he basically adopted. And then this episode he has that chat with the little girl with scars on her face who wants to fight. He’s basically the dad of the show, and he’s going to die just to destroy us emotionally. DEFFS DYING. RIP Davos.

Pod. This is a hard one. Poddy Boy is hot now, so I feel like he might die cos of that? Why give us stubble and wavy hair if not to tease us with what we can’t have ever again??? Maybe he repeats his actions at the Battle of Blackwater Bay when he saved Tyrion? But this time, he saves Brienne by taking an arrow for her or something? I’m in the middle, dunno. LEGIT MIGHT DIE.

DANY. Dany isn’t gonna die yet. Like seriously. She has much to learn young padawan. Is that the right quote? I dunno, that line just came into my head from star wars and I cbf fact checking it. She hasn’t finished her circle. We need more drama between her and Jon now that she knows Jon is her nephew. Maybe the real final battle at the end is between her and Jon???? PROBS GONNA DIE.

Jonny Boy. He’s not dying. LOL. As if anyone thinks he will. Jon is gonna live at least one more ep for the same reasons as Dany... The Drama still needs to unfold. PROBS GONNA DIE.

And finally... Ghost. IF GHOST DIES I RIOT. I’M NOT GIVING GHOST A RATING. GHOST LIVES OR I RIOT IN THE STREETS OF SYDNEY.

Fuck Winter. Can it be Summer yet???
