SPARKSTEMBER DAY 17: Plagiarism
I could talk about how much I love all the different versions of the songs on Plagiarism, especially the classical ones, and how special that version of Change is, and I could talk about how much I love that music video for Number One In Heaven because it really is one of their very best. But today I want to talk about how much I love their collaboration with the wonderful man that is Jimmy Somerville. The gifs are from a "live" performance at Europride 1997 in Paris.
...I say "live", because they were supposed to lipsync to the audiotrack, but the mics were on. The resulting sound was not exactly great, but they were definitely having fun ^_^ I love the mutual admiration and how they gesture to each other to take turns in stepping forward throughout the performance. It is a bit chaotic to have two front-men share a stage, but I love the enthusiasm they both put into the performance.
Apart from this one video on YouTube I've never been able to find much else about that performance, or who else performed at Europride 1997. But I love that Sparks was there, sharing the stage with Jimmy Somerville.
