one of my favorite sights today at graduation was a very tiny young boy running away with his father's gown. 4 or 5 years old, if even that. his dad is a civil engineer student, so instead of a square cap, they got hard hats, and this little boy had it on. he had his dad's gown in his hand, tossed over his shoulder, running across the lawn with no clear intention on where he was going, he just knew to run. his father, nicely dressed in a dark red suit with a pale grey tie and shiny beige-red shoes, running after him in the lawn. his gown was getting so much dirt all over him. the little boy was laughing so hard the entire time. the dad scooped him up like he was today's mail.

could you imagine if mlb trended again #1 because everyone for no reason whatsoever decided to pretend that stormy weather, the first episode of season 1, just suddenly came out and no one's ever heard of this show before

so, that's rather interesting.

as of writing this, the admins/mods on the other server haven't reached an agreement, and rather wait for them to give us the opportunity to opt ourselves out from something that should've been opt-in in the first place, many authors and users of ao3 are now starting to tag their fics in an attempt to dissuade their use.

the ot4 server came up with a tag that hopefully (with ao3's approval) will become canonical soon: "Do Not Use For Miraculous Fanworks Book Club", and it is being used by authors who aren't even apart of our server, as well.

i've got a lot of fics to slap this tag on, but i'll do it, just for an attempt to stay away from a server that poorly handles events that should be treated with care.

the fact that we have to tag my fics in a way so that they aren't touched is... upsetting. the fact that the admins have no update, even after a week, is rather impressive. i hope they come to a conclusion soon. i hope they understand that what they did was ridiculous, and that it really puts it in their mind that this was a serious breach of privacy and trust.

this mess is ugly. there's still damage to fix in my own server with what you caused; many of the writers there are scared to post, wondering if they'll get mocked or ridiculed over what they write. this was insensitive. who knows how big your outreach actually was with this behavior.

just a reminder to those of us who struggle with numbers on AO3; who see fics with startling hits, kudos, and especially comments— to those of us who see popular fans online and compare ourselves to their numbers and wonder why we aren’t like them:

hey.

just take a deep breath.

a fan that big and that well-known is going to have bigger numbers in general. their name carries weight and recognition, and more people are willing to click, which skews our perception. and no, i don’t say that in a “they don’t deserve that type of numbers” way, not at all. this isn’t a post to hash about them, this is an emphasis on you. i just mean, it’s okay.

it’s okay.

it’s okay not to have wild numbers on your ao3. it’s normal. it’s standard. writing and posting on ao3 is a quiet, lonely thing sometimes.

personally, i hurt myself every day whenever i check my numbers. aspiring to be more than what i’m already building. this isn’t good for me. we need to breathe.

take care of yourself. your works are wonderful, and they deserve recognition, but don’t hurt yourself trying to achieve a goal that might be hurting you more than helping you grow. please don’t burn yourself up trying to catch a star.

i have a five-week gap soon where i don't have anything to post in between it. i have a few ideas on how to fill them, but i need your help. this is going to be kind of a long post with a poll at the end, so i'll shove all of this under a read-more.

option 1: title of the wip is "silk and satin", explicit, a kwamiswap fic where lady noire uses adrien's apartment to nap. they never meet, ever, so this was never discussed, but adrien knows that lady noire's been showing up and leaves gifts behind. he's kind of like a sugar daddy, but not really— all she needs is the gratuitous use of his walk-in shower, his bed and blankets, and a place to lean back against to put her hand under the waistband of her panties. 5 chapters, reveal at the end (maybe), adrinoire endgame.

option 2: title of the wip is "job huntin'", explicit, a demon lovin' fic where adrien and luka meet for the first time. the two of them get into some scuffles— namely, adrien dealing with the fact that there's a first in elysium who refuses to talk about the fact that he's a first— while luka deals with the fact that adrien is gabriel's son. this will presumably be in only adrien's POV though, so. eh. i'm not sure how i'd get that point across... anyway, i'm unsure how many chapters i'd need, but i already have 2 chapters ready. lukadrien endgame.

option 3: title of the wip is "marinette and adrien are succubi", explicit, a demon lovin' spinoff where it's an au of an au. marinette is a cradler in paris and owns a brothel, where her favorite customer (luka) comes in regularly to the glory hole. there's no way to meet the actual customer face to face because of [plot and good reasoning i have yet to figure out yet]. marinette and adrien are dating, and adrien is her little boytoy. adrien is simultaneously obsessed with luka's cock yet also hates him, because he's concerned that luka will take away his girlfriend. 3 chapters minimum. lukadrienette endgame.

option 4: a collection of all the oneshots i have yet to finish, ranging from teen to explicit, all without any connection to any of my AUs i have. i'll post 5 oneshots in total, one per each week.

all of this is conjecture— i'll try really hard to do the one that wins, but since i have ADHD, i'm prone to pivoting sometimes. not always— i definitely do my best to post what i've promised— but i just want to make sure everyone knows that i'm tryingngngngn.
