PSA on tagging ships

I am lowkey begging everyone to use & for platonic pairings.

This is what we used to do in fandom back in the day (not that far back tho) and it distinguishes between your classic romantic/sexual ships where you want to see them kiss etc. and the ones where it's just... two characters interacting.

Like if you were referring to Sam and Dean ~romantic stylez~ you would use Sam/Dean or Sam x Dean, but if you were just appreciating their platonic relationship you'd use Sam & Dean (or Sam&Dean).

If you tag two something as Annie x Barb I am going to assume Annie and Barb kiss, okay, and then one of two things happens:

If I'm into that I'm going to be disappointed when there's nothing shippy.

If I'm not into that I might not engage with that fanwork to avoid it.

Basically remember:

Person A/Person B = non-platonic

Person A x Person B = non-platonic

Person A & Person B = platonic
