Something that really got me about D&D HAT and how much it feels like a session vs. like, a story made for the screen (if that makes sense??) is when Holga's beating guards up, gets knocked prone/dragged, and Edgin yells “oh now we’ve got him!” Like your party member just got put in a compromising situation and you've been adventuring with them long enough and know them well enough to be like "they'll be fine lemme banter." I think about it so much and it makes me so happy

Some other folk and I got together today at 9am for DESCENT INTO VLADNESS, or: Blade trilogy marathon. I wish I hadn't seen the third!

Blade - killer OST, great old school action, good introduction to Blade as a massive asshole - whole room in uproar while he was trashing Karen's apartment. "Some motherfuckers always tryna ice skate uphill" best line. He rips a guy's throat out and throws it at another guy.

Blade II - Have to confess I had seen this already for del Toro Tuesday, but it was really great watching everyone's reactions. Tron-esque score. Holy editing, Batman; cuts every five seconds. It's got that weird GDT flair and the family subplot, but definitely felt like an afterthought. The ending definitely lost a lot of us. Whole room cheering when Ron Perlman appeared, GOD i love him

Blade III - Don't waste your time. Genuinely. We read about the on-set production trouble prior to viewing and that was more entertaining. Has got some weirdly hilarious toxic masculinity??? Vampire dogs.

“Do you think his name is Blade because it rhymes with blood?”

“Blade is the opposite of submissive and breedable” “… dominant and sterile?”
