Merman! Inaba:

- he isn't often out of the water at all, so you probably spotted him while he was hunting a land animal, like maybe a young deer drinking at the lake

- once his eyes landed on you, though, the thought of catching said deer immediately threw itself out of his mind

- he froze, as did you, considering whether he should attack or just dive back into the murky waters

- make any sudden movements and he's swimming away IMMEDIATELY

- he's very easily spooked and doesn't really have good experiences with most humans

- I say most, because he's pretty chill with urita and his bloodline because of the pact they have with his own

- unlike with Cosmo, you have to be very patient when it comes to Inaba

- one wrong move could lead to the loss of all the trust you've built up with him

- it probably takes weeks if not months of you coming to his lake everyday in order for him to realize you aren't hostile

- note that you should come and go at the same time everyday so that you become a part of his routine and he can get used to you easier

- it'll take even longer for him to let you get close to him, and probably more than half a year to let you touch him

- despite his aversion to touch, your presence, or lack thereof does affect him

- if you miss even a day, he'll pester you immediately once he sees you again, asking where you've been and warning you not to disappear again, or he'll stop seeing you (it's a lie, he'd miss you too much)

- he's not actually very good at producing human words/sounds so a lot of his complains would be incomprehensible noises (for humans) and when he does speak, it's very simple words

- he only knows words from his conversations with urita and even then he doesn't speak much, just listens

- also, he isn't very curious about humans, he thinks he knows enough and thus doesn't really question you about your anatomy or anything

- if you show curiosity towards him he might be a bit reluctant to answer your questions, especially if they're weird, but he does like that you seem to be interested in him

- he won't mind simple requests like asking to see his fins or feel his hair, but if you ask him to explain how his respiratory system works, he'll have no idea either

- if there were to be something he was curious about, it would be your skin's texture, especially your fingerprints

- he doesn't have any finger prints and his skin is slimy and scaly as compared to your relatively dry and slightly bumpy one

- you two have kind of a "he can touch you but you can't touch him" relationship

Naga! Cosmo:

- as opposed to Inaba, where you spot him, Cosmo was the one that found you

- you were going on your typical nature hike, same time everyday, and seeing you so routinely piqued Cosmo's attention

- he likes to hang out in the trees, his body draped over branches and he hangs his head down, staring as you walk your usual path

- once he deems you safe to come into contact with, he picks you up, wrapping his tail around you and pulling you up to his eye level, where you'll hang from the branch by his tail while he observes you

- this takes about 2 weeks, he isn't quite as wary of humans as inaba

- he never actually gets to see humans, so you're like a pleasant surprise to him

- don't try to squirm and wriggle your way out of his grasp, he'll just tighten his hold further, it's a subconscious thing, as he hunts via constriction and typically isn't trying to keep wriggling prey alive

- he knows he didn't make a very good impression and probably scared the shit out of you, but he's worried that you'll run away if he lets go, so instead he lowers the both of you to the ground where you two sit, you still bound by his tail

- attempts to initiate conversation but, due to lack of human contact, is very bad at it.

- barely knows any words, can at most say a greeting but that's it

- he makes you promise that you'll keep coming everyday and not avoid this path because of him

- and indeed you do, keeping to your routine, much to his joy

- you even teach him your language, which makes him really happy because now he can properly communicate with you and possibly other humans

- he's a very quick learner, smart boy

- you two have some sort of exchange of information, where you teach him to speak, and he teaches you about nagas

- he honestly doesn't know much, and can verbally explain even less, but he'll let you find out yourself

- really likes how curious you are, even if he doesn't understand many of the words you use in your questions

- he lets you touch him quite easily and isn't as particular about it since his whole hunting style revolves around being in close contact with his prey

- let's out soft noises when you run your hand down his tail, it tickles for him

- whatever you do to him, he'll do the same back, as if he's trying to mimic you in an attempt to communicate better

- like if you touch his hair, he'll touch yours back, if you tilt your head to the side out of curiosity, he'll follow suit

- definitely very curious about your legs and how you walk

- your legs are probably his favorite part of your body, it just intrigues him so much he has to know more

- will touch it without asking, ranging from a small poke to a grab and even sometimes a pinch

- he's just so curious!

- he'll even ask you to walk/run around so he can see how they work

- all in all y'all become close very quickly and he always tries to make you stay for as long as possible

may i humbly request some poco headcanons for this au..

Oh gosh Poco my boy- ask and you shall receive! (This one is VERY long thank you for your time 🛐🛐)

Poco's death, as of now, is unknown, even to him. One day, he woke up as a skeleton, clutching his trusty guitar. He always had a soul full of music and went off to explore this seemingly new world.

His attacks in this AU are quite similar, with his musical strums carrying quite a punch! Mostly, he plays a more upbeat tune to heal hid allies.

Currently I am working to redesign him slightly, but I have some notes to add on his design! His entire body is just the skeleton, no fur or feathered parts at all. In the redesign, I want him to wear some fake fur and feathers to replicate a fluffy, more friendly looking dragon.

The reason he wears fake fur and feathers is because as he played just as a skeleton with a hat and a tailored suit, he scared off some younger kids with his bones. Now, he's much more fluffy looking and approachable, especially for the younglings. He also uses small claw protectors on his hands so that he doesn't accidentally break his guitar strings (they are reinforced as well in case).

He slowly started to gain fame with his music as he explored the world, bringing songs that had a distinct ring to it. They were always a joy to listen to. Minus a few sour notes here and there, it's agreed that Poco is just very fun to watch perform.

It was in his expeditions with music that he met El Primo and Amber, fellow performers with their own craft. El Primo was an up and coming luchadar, while Amber was still finding what niche she could do in this growing world of entertainment.

Extra notes on Amber: She might've been a ribbon dancer or a baton twirler at this point! Her performances in the sky were really quite nice. She was happy, though other performers caught wind and were inevitably better than her, even with all the efforts she put in. This later led to her practicing with fire dances, as she learned her feathers were fireproof.

Back to Poco, while he played songs and did have a nice fanbase, they sadly left him for a bigger and much more popular band. This is based on old descriptions in-game. At this time, he nearly fell into a lot of sadness, feeling alone again as when he woke up after becoming a skeleton. He fell into a creative slump during this time.

When all hope was lost, El Primo and Amber helped him back on his feet to find his rhythm again. They stuck with their friend no matter what anyone thought. Now he's slowly building up his fanbase again at the park, becoming much more successful!

He's still part of the Bad Randoms band. He got invited on a few years back from Stu, who had seen a small show of his one day at a tavern. He and Stu became good pals a while back (I mean, who could be friends with Poco), and when Stu met him again he invited him on with a band that he and Buzz were forming. Buzz liked his vibes and they've been rocking ever since 🤘

Sometimes, he gets dreams of his time when he was alive. They're faint and far in between, but it slowly becomes clear it wasn't...recent. He'd been down under for a good few years, at least. Once he woke up crying, apparently seeing some loved ones in the dream. His heart, though now bound by magic, still missed them. If only he could remember their names.

Poco can play quite a few instruments! The guitar, ukulele, bass, banjo, harp, and keyboard. Oh, and maracas! He's got a whole collection at home 😎

He has a prehensile tail, which helps him carry his guitar.

He's very light, kind of like holding a couple of grapes /ref (seriously though, on average he's very lightweight. His bones were hollow as he was able to fly before, but now he cannot. Sometimes he gets dreams of flying, but it sort of spooks him out, even if it is fun.)

He has a lovely singing voice! Poco can do a few solid imitations of other brawlers' voices, and sometimes, they even help in brawls to disorient enemies in the bushes.

Oh damn…yeah on the “Aiden has killed a guy” thing we definitely disagree 😅 I gotta say, the concept of turning INTO an Elder Dragon is seriously something else…and it’s so neat that you also LOTG…I was like “hey how come at the end Aiden’s a solemn and then you see him at the beginning of World and he’s like “heyyyyy”. And she’s like “probably trying to be cool”. Still love how he sees you sitting alone and is like “absolutely not :)” ah, hold on, lemme continue this in another ask 😅

honestly my main backing for saying he's had to kill someone is two things: a) i like to make my faves suffer and having to kill another person would weigh VERY heavily on aiden, b) guild knights already do that as is, so while it's definitely FAR more likely that aiden was tasked with Just going around to help protect people, it Is a possibility and i use that to my advantage to make him suffer<3 i'd say he's fine but [gently pats the top of his head] this bad boy can fit so much repressed trauma in it LMAO

aiden was, i believe, the second instance of someone getting poofed into an elder dragon by vodrem; everyone else was just normal monsters (shang was an anjanath, and ended up keeping the alt form because he looked like the anja that raised him, the admiral was a tigrex, the huntsman was an acidic glavenus, the tracker was an odogaron, the seeker was the other elder dragon, an eo garudia; i don't THINK there were others but this was over a year ago and my memory is fuzzy</3 achilles also ended up getting poofed into an elder dragon at some point after the guild arc part 2, a xeno and then safi'jiiva, after aiden got spooked back into the fatalis form and let him drain some of his energy to speed up the molting process. he also ended up keeping the safi form, albeit by choice, so now he's just kinda this fucked up Black Dragon Lite™️ safi with primarily black colouration and dark red mottling and purple energy, i actually have a drawing i did of it somewhere as a ref for my friend, he is Very Pretty😌) i chose fatalis primarily because of how heavily i associate aiden with fatty (thanks iceborne) but also since i thought itd be interesting to explore a kind and outgoing and bubbly character like him grappling with the innate violence and rage of a fatalis... yet again making him suffer LMAO. to give him credit, he's done a good job at it, mostly because he typically just ends up being an oversized skittish cat who refuses to actually use any of the fatalis capabilities (save for flying, which he does admittedly enjoy). pancaketalis<3 i'll draw him fatalis'ed eventually, once i figure out how to texture the burn scars since they wouldn't be all that visible bc of the black scales

i definitely see aiden as the kind of person who doesn't, like, really Want to Let others see any solemness or whatnot from him most of the time; he's energetic, excitable, social and outgoing, and wants to maintain that---he doesn't want people to worry over him, i think. after all, he's usually the one that's trying to cheer everyone else up and support them, which may sort of be a way to try to deal with his own issues, in a way? me too buddy me too

i also adore how he's introduced in world, i think it's part of what got me to like him so much tbh. him immediately gravitating towards the one person sitting alone that didn't appear to have anyone else but their palico around with them, because everyone should feel included and welcomed, and while everyone else is already eating and talking away the player character is just sorta There, so of course, he strikes up a conversation, because that's what he does<3 nobody gets left out or left behind

(sidenote: i love that the fatalis pre-cutscene mirrors the intro cutscene. chefs fucking kiss im so normal about that)

Hey what's up randomly coming here to tell you you're a joy and I hope you have a wonderful day. Seeing you on here always brightens things up but regardless you deserve to take some time off, I wanted to acknowledge how much you're doing as of late (at least what I've seen or heard of it online heh) and you're handling things good. I've really been low energy wise (May be facing tad bit of a burnout from the current evidence quq') HAVE been trying to focus on this upcoming project for halloween I have in mind! tho has resulted in me not really being able to start & finish full art pieces or other projects i have gnawing in the back of me noggin -u-' (Seriously my art folder just now has entire rows of wips when I look up my clip files nowadays with maybe one or two seperate pieces i fully coloured inbetween asdfgfds 'x3 sight i ain't use to that for sure)

whyy must there only be 24 hours in day>:/ I'mma hold and cuddle your words for quite awhile if you does not mind,cause again they gift me such a smile and MORE Morso-!!
