Okay, so you watch quite a few Let's Plays! I used to watch them all the time, but that was maybe a decade ago, and I really only watch them sparingly now. The only ones I tend to watch are people playing The Sims, which I'd love to have again. So I'm afraid I can't give any great recommendations unless you're interested in that, haha.

As for where I'd like to go next...I went to the UK a couple of months ago and I LOVED it, so I'd really like to go back, but I also want to go places I haven't been yet. I'm thinking Switzerland would be nice, maybe France (but really I'd only be going for Pere-Lachaise Cemetery) but I've also been thinking about Brazil a lot! I love Brazilian music and I'd really like to explore what Brazil has to offer. The only problem is that nobody wants to go with me. 😭

So back to Christmas...with the season coming up, are there any favorite Christmas movies you like to watch?

The Sims is like a disease (a good one), it has a grip on you and doesn't want to let go - I have a friend on my year that is addicted to The Sims, he would probably appreciate the let's plays you're watching 👀

Look at that, I want to go to France at least once for Pere-Lachaise Cemetery. Wanna put at least a flower on Jim's grave, I own him so much 💜 *gasps* Why nobody wants to go with you to Brazil? It's sad!

Actually yes and it's the "Die Hard" trilogy 😂 My family is extreme!

Jokes aside, my mum always watched these movies on Christmas and it somehow became a tradition. Also, each year seeing Alan Rickman and Jeremy Irons? Sign me up!

I'm sorry to hear about the cold, I hope you feel 100% well soon. I'm doing fine, in spite of the respiratory allergies 🤧 I know the struggle it is to not be able to breathe properly and it sucks!

I like art too, even though I don't really do anything artistic. I like 70s sci-fi art and some artists like Wayne Thiebaud and Magritte. I would never say I understand a thing about art, though, I just appreciate seeing it haha! I'm curious about the new style you discovered, is it ok for you to share it?

I think I listen to a lot of classic rock too, but pigeonholing music genres is actually something I'm not good at, at all! When people ask me what kind of music I like the only thing I can think of saying is that I like music from the 70s. But I think that's actually a good way of describing my music taste lol.

As of now, what would you say is your favorite artist/band/album?

Yess, 70s sci-fi art is so cool! Also I didn't know Wayne Thiebaud, but I just looked him up, and wow, his art is really cool! (Also I do like Magritte too) 🌟

And yeah, I'm probably going to post some art too, but I can show just a photo before I do a proper scan. It's not anything groundbreaking, of course, the style is new only for me haha.

It's a big step for me because my art is generally way too rigid, but this style is very spontaneous, so I finally get to loosen it up. Also I'm so happy to be working with colour pencils again. ✏️

And honestly, I think your approach to music genres is the proper way to go about it - there was a time I was so obsessed with genres, I would just give you a long, boring list of classic rock subgenres if you asked me what music I like haha.

Lately I've been really obsessed with Pescado Rabioso and Almendra (70s and 60s rock bands from Argentina). If you don't already know them, I recommend Cementerio Club by Pescado Rabioso and Ana No Duerme by Almendra; they are amazing songs!

Radiohead: their most famous album is OK Computer, but all their albums are good. They changed up their style a lot, going from grunge in the early 90s with their debut album Pablo Honey to more experimental rock a few years later, to electronic music in the early 2000s with Kid A and Amnesiac and maybe Hail to the Thief. 2007’s In Rainbows was… hard to describe but it’s very good and one album I have to listen from start to finish with no skippable tracks. With their most recent albums The King of Limbs and A Moon Shaped Pool they dipped into jazzy instrumentation. They’re on hiatus right now but the singer and one of the guitarists is in a band called The Smile with a jazz drummer from another group. Sorry for the wall of text lol, I love Radiohead’s music

The HU: Mongolian folk metal with traditional Mongolian influences sung in Mongolian. Their second album Rumble of Thunder is what I’d suggest for harder music. I don’t speak Mongolian but I love the energy lol. There’s other Mongolian folk metal groups like Tengger Cavalry who were from Inner Mongolia (part of China now) and were early pioneers of the genre though the HU is the most well known right now. I know of other bands from Mongolia and other countries with similar cultures who do throat singing but their names escape me at the moment. If I remember I’ll let you know

Ooooh that does sound interesting — I like it when bands really switch up their sound over time, it's so cool to see how an artist's style adapts to new influences. I'll have to listen to In Rainbows, and probably one of the more recent albums, too, since I love jazzy influence lol!

Oh, I have heard of The HU actually! What a cool genre to get into. I know a guy who lived in Mongolia for a few years and everything I've heard about the country and culture is just incredible! He wasn't specifically into folk metal, but I had another friend who got really into that genre and gave me a fun, albeit brief overview once 😂

Absolutely! 🤣 they’re like my first rock love lol

I like other prog bands (especially King Crimson and PFM), more classic rock like Led Zeppelin, David Bowie and The Beatles, and then a list of other various favourites: David Sylvian and XTC, Radiohead, Blur, Nirvana, Deftones, Nine Inch Nails, Elbow, Nick Drake, Björk, Kings Of Convenience, Pond,… we could be here a while 😆 also what music do you like? 😊

I gotta be honest, winter is my least favourite season, I love Christmas and new years but all the long months after that remind me of bad experiences :/ I do like the winter aesthetic but it doesn’t even snow here so… after all the festivities are over I’m gonna be waiting for the flowers to bloom 😅 I used to love summer but with global warming now it’s getting um… inconvenient to go outside. So now it’s autumn. What’s your favourite season? (Is it winter? 🫣)

Oooo hydrobike sounds incredible, I’ve never tried it but I can easily see how fun it could be (and how difficult to find, I never even knew it was a thing until now😅)

That’s really cool, I’ve really been wanting to get more into both Star Trek and especially Tolkien 👀 (I have most of the books and I started reading them but then something bad happened and now I kind of associate that time of my life with them, which sucks because I was enjoying them so much!). I really like horror for some reason (I realise it makes very little sense, to want to be scared, but I can’t really describe it), but besides being a huge classic rock fan lately I have been a little too burned out for fandoms :/ it also doesn’t help that my biggest fandom growing up was Harry Potter and, well… now I don’t like to talk about it. Other things I enjoy very much are videogames (especially Minecraft - basic, I know, but the feeling it gives me is really peaceful, even when it gets hard or scary) and, to an extent, watching YouTube and being in YouTuber fandoms/communities.

Sorry if I rambled a little, but it’s new year’s eve and I am not entirely sober right now because of celebrations 🤭🤭. Speaking of, I hope you have a fantastic new year and if you ever want to talk again please let me know and I’ll reveal my secret identity! 😊

And oh my, that's you in the photos?? Talk about stylish!! I love the vibes ✨ My own style can vary quite a lot depending on my mood and the season, but it tends to be along those lines too! If I'm dressing up in the winter it tends to be a nice pair of trousers, buttoned up shirt and dress shoes, possibly with suspenders and my trustworthy pocket watch. For casual I might wear a band T-shirt and trousers, and I have a dramatically long brown cardigan that is awesome for the winter season. And then I have two nice wool coats for outerwear, a brown felt hat and one brown leather cap (wonderful when it's cold!), dark brown leather gloves and leather boots. I wear almost exclusively warm colours, lots of brown and green but I also love rust, red and petrol! In the summer I tend to dress a bit more hippy-ish, and for Christmas eve I rock a red rockabilly dress and high heel sparkling ruby slippers! I love the quote by Algernon from Wilde's The Importance of Being Ernest: "If I am occasionally a little over-dressed, I make up for it by being always immensely over-educated" 😄

Your job sounds like a lot of fun! At least you're in the right line of work, it sounds like, and that is good. (I currently study half time and work the rest as a substitute teacher, and though I feel like I'm being useful and do learn a lot, I also so very much feel that I don't belong there most days and very much miss being around artsy people). I've also been rather lost (haven't had a professional acting gig in years for example, and miss it so much), but one thing I've found regarding life and work is that, you know... you don't have to pick one thing to do. You can do so many different things, and you can always change path. In my experience, focussing on things that you enjoy doing and being patient tends to lead you along the right path ^^ If you miss performing, perhaps it's a good idea to focus on finding a way to perform again, whether it's on a professional level or not? Roads that other people have paved are not always right for us, and sometimes it takes some letting go of those made up rules to find our own paths. That's my advice - that you didn't really ask for, so take it or leave it, hehe! But I hope you will find your place eventually (I think you will).

Well! I'm finishing writing this at nearly three at night - there never seems to be enough time during the christmas days! I baked a cake today (with ginger, cinnamon and banana) and my best friend came over and we exchanged gifts. I hope that you are having a great and relaxing time, whatever you've been doing today and are doing tomorrow! ❄️🎄

Yeah it's dual enrollment stuff, I'm actually a history major and I really enjoy getting into those kids of things, even if military strategy isn't my thing it is still very interesting to read about. A my little pony war game sounds very fun lol, unfortunately all I can think of is that one mlp x fallout fanfic even though I know that hearts of Iron is completely different in almost every single way lmao

Anyway, about the movie: YES IT IS WORTH WATCHING!!!! Just keep in mind it is from the mid 80s and takes place in the 50s and based on a Stephen King novel. It is a damn good movie.
