there are so many girls fawning over them both

with rui it's a lot of little girls with precocious crushes on the tall boy with the soothing voice from the show they saw at Phoenix Wonderland

and with tsukasa it's a bunch of teenagers online that think they can fix him and call him their skrunkly and/or blorbo from their J-Pop group

there was already speculation about tsukasa's relationship status from the moment he debuted with MMJ! but it only gets more and more heated after he's spotted in Phoenix Wonderland with rui

some fans go to the park and corner rui and ask him "so are you like his friend" and stuff bc they all ship him either with one of the girls in MMJ! or with no one bc he needs to be single for their fantasies to work

and rui just goes "yeah he's my friend. but put boy in front of it"

TWITTER LOSES THEIR GODDAMN MIND FOR WEEKS ON END

ena, nene, and shizuku all comment on the situation before rui or tsukasa does

ena and nene both roast tsukasa. ena says "two whole clowns" with a picture of them attached, and nene says "it says a lot when your bf who is literally a carnie is still more of an adjusted person than you are"

meanwhile shizuku just says "they're very happy and that's all that matters" (she had to have ena type it for her bc her phone died and she forgot that she needs to charge it)

finally tsukasa makes it official and posts a pic of them together on his profile

FINAL SWAP AU; A REWRITE

The Final Swap AU is a  universe where fates change. I always saw swap universes as more of a path altered or not taken. Ever had a fork in your road? Whatever path you decided upon, another universe would refuse. Some of the smallest decisions could affect the results of the future. This universe is where a character like Gary Goodspeed would end up becoming a feared tyrant. A universe where, Lord Commander was no more, and Jack had to rebuild a life he gave up on.

Some brief background info:

Gary Goodspeed grew up mostly with his father after his mother died from sickness. Since John was a Commander and called to missions, his son mostly spent his free time alone. But if there was anything Gary loved more, it was spending time with his dad. He wanted to be in the Infinity Guard, to be a hero too, just like John.

It crushed young Gary’s heart when his dad and the co pilot were declared ‘missing’ (many believed dead) from the wreckage of the breach mission hours after their departure. Many of John’s friends from the Guard pitied Gary, and decided to look after him. Gary was about a few years off from enrolment, and with the help of his new guardians, he was trained until that day. With such commitment to entering the Guard, Gary was allowed to enrol earlier, who was then quickly accepted.

John Goodspeed was found floating in the voids of space many months after. He suffered some amnesia but was otherwise stable. It was found out during the breach operation, a temporal worm formed too close to their ship, swallowing John and most of the shuttle. John miraculously survived the intense travel, luckily travelling only few years in the future. John did everything to make up the lost time with his son, who was overjoyed to see him alive.

A war between the Infinity Guard and an unknown power had been raging years after the breach sealed. Everyone was doing their part to help keep the opposing forces away from harming other planets. The Guard accepted more people than ever.

Quinn enrolled sometime later John returned. Quinn eventually got along with Gary and became close friends, both being mentored under John. They would sometimes be lucky enough to do missions together. Quinn worked hard to rise through the ranks, and after so much trial and error, she rose to commander. Gary wasn’t in much rush to earn such a rank, which lead to a slight separation between them.

The war abruptly ended. Some of the higher up’s start acting a little off. Things were being mysteriously being shipped out. John and Gary both notice these strange happenings, but both at first brushed it off.

John at this time was considering retiring. Of course it was a secret between him and his son, and John would need time to really think about it. His decision was interrupted when he was called to another mission. The location wasn’t disclosed, which gave Gary some serious doubt, but John reassured him.

Things were quiet until John was suddenly reported dead. Gary wanted answers, but Superior Stone refused. He was furious that Stone is keeping things from him. By this time, Gary had noticed enough to believe the Guard were becoming corrupt. After a falling out with Quinn, Gary set out to prove his suspicions. He avoids arrest, lays low, until he digs up information on what or who could be now involved with the Infinity Guard’s sudden change.

Gary finds the Lord Commander, and during some attempted sabotage gets captured. He breaks out, resulting him and the Commander get into an fight which leads to Gary suddenly getting chosen. The Order investigate into the “new Commander” problem and decide to really take control this time. For the next five years Gary is known as The Master Commander, and under The Orders care, becomes a dude you really don't want to mess with.

Much of the events from present day runs similarly to season 1. Quinn is the lead character, and Jack has a role of his own. Quinn’s goal is to find a way to save Gary, while the rest of the group want to kill him. This universe runs up to episode 7. After Avocato dies in episode 6, Mooncake blames himself and runs away. Both the Master Commander and Quinn are in a race to find him. The main story ends there. There are three main endings to explore. I consider the Good ending canon as I personally enjoy the story and Mc’s reformation. In that ending, The Master Commander runs into another version of himself, Starboy, a half celestial, and DOESN’T kill him.

The rest of that story is yet to be told.

Vivid BAD SQUAD (An, Shiho, Airi, Saki)

saki doesn't understand why her friends are so intimidating they're really just softies that love girls when it comes down to it

shiho gets recognized at gigs because her sister was a former idol (and later, gets recognized because shizuku is an idol again) and every time shiho has to pretend like she doesn't know who her sister is

even funnier is that airi will sometimes save her by going "oh you mean shizuku like my girlfriend? the famous idol shizuku who is dating me?"

an shows up to rehearsal one day mumbling "emo boy" by ayesha erotica under her breath and the other girls are like "BUT AREN'T YOU A LESBIAN AND DATING AN EMO GIRL???? WHAT IS THE TRUTH AN SHIRAISHI"

the groups before the merger were An and Airi (who went by the name BAD/GALS) and Shiho and Saki (as Viva la Vivid!)

Nightcord at 25:00 (Mafuyu, Touya, Emu, Kohane)

emu has to go to their SEKAI at least once a week to get the rest of them out of there and to school

kohane made a joke about emu being a letter away from emo one time and emu thinks about that every time they hang out now

touya and kohane immediately tell mafuyu to get some therapy and emu is just sitting there in the SEKAI after mafuyu makes her grand speech like "well maybe i could write a song so happy that it cures mafuyu-chan's depression"

the other three are shell-shocked when they find out that emu's family runs Phoenix Wonderland, and yet none of them actually do any research on emu before meeting her in person in the SEKAI for the first time so they don't know what she looks like

mafuyu's user is still Yuki, touya's is DOGdaze, emu's is WONDAHOI, and kohane's is KuroKoha

Leo/Need (Haruka, Honami, Akito, Kanade)

akito makes fun of his sister for being a cutesy idol despite him literally being in a cliche-ass band with his childhood best friends

haruka was literally a former idol and should have been given every opportunity to play the piano again and yet she sucks at it so hard when the band gets back together for rehearsal the first time

akito and kanade become friends again because their significant others are involved in a shady online groupchat and they vent to each other because what if it's a fucking cult???? what then???

haruka and akito are frenemies but only on akito's side because HARUKA WAS A FORMER IDOL AND HE'S JUST A FUCKING BASS PLAYER????

kanade almost immediately took to guitar and her dad (who was a street busker for the majority of his life) got upset about her being so naturally attuned to instruments rather than her being better at songwriting than he was

Wonderlands x Showtime! (Minori, Mizuki, Rui, Ichika)

mizuki & rui cause nonbinary circus chaos everywhere they go

ichika and minori bond over the fact that their partners are in leo/need (and minori is astounded when she finds out that ichika also has 2 girlfriends in vivid bad squad)

minori goes fucking berserk when she learns that rui is friends with a member of the ootori family

everyone but minori is trans and minori's the ULTIMATE cis ally

minori often gets lead roles, ichika is the secondary actor, mizuki is pretty much a wild card, and rui directs and produces the shows as well as plays smaller parts

MORE MORE JUMP! (Nene, Ena, Tsukasa, Shizuku)

again, loser tsukasa tenma real in all timelines

once nene and ena learn that tsukasa is close with rui, they will never ever shut up about him dating a clown (shizuku tries to remind them that rui isn't actually a clown, nor is tsukasa actually dating him. this does not dissuade them in the slightest. in fact nene even goes to ask mizuki and mizuki says "yeah they're gay keep scrolling")

ena and nene are best friends and have sneaked out of at least 1 rehearsal to watch VBS

shizuku offhandedly mentioned once that it might be nice to look uniform with tsukasa wearing a skirt and he hasn't looked back since

tsukasa wants to pretend like he's the actual leader of the unit but shizuku is actually in control here

ooooo if we can ask questions about the swap au then.... what tsukasa and saki's relationship in the swap au? like does he show ip to every vbs performance and everyones like "omg that stupid idol guy is here again" and he makes idol merch for his sister even though shes not and idol? i answered a similar ask abt saki's view of her brother right here, but i never mentioned anything abt tsukasa so here we go!

tsukasa shows up to almost every performance (he only doesn't show up when there are scheduling conflicts and he is literally FORCED to miss a show)

he is so proud of his sister it's so sweet

saki notices him in the audience almost every time and will sometimes shout him out

this fuels his ego Big Time

a lot of audience members just flat out know him first and foremost as Saki's Annoying Brother rather than as a literal J-Pop idol

very rarely he actually joins saki on stage for a duet and it's always so goddamn cute

he absolutely does make merch for his sister and sells it at VBS shows

this is the only embarrassing thing abt him to saki, which really shows both her love for her older brother and also just a severe lack of judgement

the merch itself is actually pretty good quality

one person shows up and has no idea who tsukasa is and sees him selling Only Saki Merch in the back of the venue

after the show that one person walks up to saki and is like "hey just so you know there's this weird guy selling t-shirts and stuff for you. he might be stalking you"

and saki is just like "oh yeah that's my brother tsukasa!"

that person goes home and looks up tsukasa tenma and absolutely goes feral upon seeing that he's technically more famous than saki

after saki brings this up to tsukasa he starts making merch of the other girls but still mostly makes saki-based merch

and later on that person that told saki her own brother was a stalker shows up to a more more jump! concert decked out fully in tsukasa merch. character development. character growth

shiho will do a lot of instrumentals for the group, half bc she just genuinely enjoys making them, and half bc she wants to show off her technical prowess

an does the most lyric-writing, with saki in a close second

at some gigs saki will perform stripped down acoustic versions of their songs with nothing but her piano as accompaniment, and most fans absolutely adore these performances

airi is the choreographer of the group and does a lot of rapping (alongside an and occasionally shiho, saki almost never raps)

the group's new overarching color is a more neon pink compared to the OG's red

mafuyu is still the band's primary lyricist and is still making music on the side as OWN, but she sometimes also lends unused album covers from OWN songs to the group

touya is the arranger and composer, secretly loving to still play his piano and violin despite his overbearing father's strictness

emu manages the group's social media presence and will often make the group's covers, graphics, and merchandise designs

kohane creates the group's videos, tracking her own dancing and movement into a program to create the group's personas, similar to virtual idols

mafuyu sings most of their songs, with kohane in second, touya in third, and emu really only chipping in as backup, but she's more than content to do so

Leo/need (Haruka, Honami, Akito, Kanade)

haruka plays the keyboard but fell out of practice after her days as an idol, until both shizuku and airi recommended the tenma siblings' mother as a teacher to get her back in the habit

honami still plays the drums, and she is still the last person to join the group, mostly due to the same reasons as in the OG

akito plays bass, and is second-last to join the group, mostly because he's intimidated by haruka and kanade's talents and wants to stand out on his own

kanade plays guitar and wants to believe that nothing's changed with the group because the group fell out around the time her dad fell ill, and so she's still in denial about the friend group falling apart

their cardinal virtual singers are the kagamine twins, and rin and len's dynamic best reflects haruka and akito's frenemies dynamic

Wonderlands x Showtime (Minori, Mizuki, Rui, Ichika)

minori can't put on her own makeup very well and so she almost always outsources her job to rui or mizuki (very rarely ichika, only in the most dire situations). also her color is more vibrant orange now

mizuki is surprisingly good at memorizing their lines to the point where sometimes when they have really small roles they can be offbook by the second practice

rui writes most of the shows but he always goes to emu to get approval first, since after all this is her family's park

ichika writes all of the songs for their shows, and also does the music backing them. she specializes in more somber, solo songs

their cardinal virtual singer is miku (catgirl miku real in all timelines) and she constantly suggests them including vocaloid songs in their shows, to varying degrees of success

MORE MORE JUMP! (Nene, Ena, Tsukasa, Shizuku)

nene's fans pay the most attention to the music itself, and are very quick to criticize tsukasa for the moments his voice gets more nasally (which he literally cannot control)

ena's fans are the most active on social media, and are very critical of tsukasa for being annoying on twitter (which he literally cannot control)

shizuku's fans are the most diehard and pay attention to the aesthetics of the group the most, and criticize tsukasa for how often he stands out against the girls (which he literally cannot control)

tsukasa's fans are few, but are the most vocal, and will criticize other fans for how much they deride him (and he literally cannot control his fans)

ena's color is more a pastel peach, and tsukasa's color is more subdued and pastel now. also the green of the group's color is slightly more mint-ice-cream-colored

An, Shiho, Airi, Saki - as Vivid BAD SQUAD. Just a group of lesbians that are out on the town looking to make women swoon. Mean lesbians and also Saki's there. Their patron VIRTUAL SINGER is KAITO, and they all needlessly and shamelessly roast him simply because he is a man.

Mafuyu, Touya, Emu, Kohane - as Nightcord at 25:00. The three quietest and most genuinely dissatisfied people in the world end up becoming best friends with Pure Sunshine incarnate. I think their patron VS would be Luka, like in her "Lie" era. You know the one, where she sings a sad song about giving up her lesbian love with GUMI.

Haruka, Honami, Akito, Kanade - as Leo/Need. Four incredibly different people that were friends as kids and have since completely disconnected. I imagine that Kanade would actually be the one trying to bring them all back together, despite her seeming to be uninterested. Their patron VSes are the Kagamine twins, I think.

Minori, Mizuki, Rui, Ichika - as Wonderlands x Showtime. Minori and Rui get approval from Emu (whose family still owns Phoenix Wonderland) to do shows. Plus I think that Mizuki would absolutely adore sewing their costumes. Their patron VS is Miku, and Mizuki sometimes straight up refuses to leave the Amusement Park SEKAI because they are enamored with catgirl Hatsune Miku.

Nene, Ena, Tsukasa, Shizuku - as More More Jump! Saki gets into a crowd with rude lesbians and Tsukasa is in a crowd with disinterested lesbians. Tsukasa Tenma idol girl moment also. Their patron VS is MEIKO, and all of these people except for Tsukasa are less interested in the idol business and more in just making music. Nene and Ena are just like "Tsukasa looks fucking dumb" and Shizuku does nothing to defend him. Loser Tsukasa Tenma real in all timelines.
