Saki is an underrated character and i feel like people don't Get what Yosuke's thing with her was.

Saki was one of the first people to be nice to Yosuke when he moved to Inaba, and importantly the first GIRL. Yosuke is obsessed with performing heterosexuality. he is thinking about girls 24/7 and not necessarily because he is attracted to them but that's what he thinks he should be thinking about as a guy (and to get away from his gay thoughts)

Saki is nice to him and that lights up his little brain into thinking that he has a chance at a girlfriend so he gets attached. his first girlfriend! if he has a girlfriend, there's no way Yosuke is gay!

now I don't think Yosuke ever fell in love with Saki. his behavior doesn't lead me to believe that. his Shadow taunts him that he only came snooping because he wanted something to do, not because of Saki. the game establishes that Shadows don't lie for the most part, so there's an element of truth, even if it is distorted.

my main point is that Saki did mean something special to him as one of the first people to show him kindness (even if it it was likely fake) but also she was the hope for a "normal relationship" with a girl for Yosuke. with Saki, a closeted Yosuke could have been straight. but that got torn away.

i feel like a lot of people ignore Saki because they think she's kinda inconvenient when talking about souyo but she's important to Yosuke's character!

I don't THINK I posted this yet?? idk though lmao. But, Splinter/Shredder swap. Doubt I'll ever write anything fr for it, but:

Saki fled to NY after Yoshi beat him, Yoshi stayed in Japan and rebuilt the Hamato clan.

Yoshi raised Miwa. Takes everything WAY more seriously than he used to, because he blames himself for what happened with Saki. Super open about his past, as he is in canon, but though he feels a lot of guilt about what went down, Miwa believes pretty strongly that it was all Saki's fault and she hates him and is glad he's dead.

Miwa is really close with her dad, pretty similar to canon.

Saki seethes in New York for a while, hating Yoshi, but after being alone with his thoughts for so long, without any yes-men, he starts realizing that his lies don't hold up under scrutiny.

Intensely guilty over it, because the whole reason he ever was so delulu is because he couldn’t handle the guilt of being WRONG. So now he has, and he’s really self-loathing about it.

Eventually gets 4 turtles (later than Yoshi did in canon, meaning they're 4-5 years younger than Miwa), because Shen loved turtles. Mutation happens, he flees to the sewers.

Starts going by Cinder, bc he is what the fire left behind of Oroku Saki.

Still names them the same as canon, to kind of honor Yoshi bc Yoshi loved Renaissance art (and I don't want to come up with new names hflkashdlgkskdlg)

He raises them to be REALLY non-competitive, bc he really really doesn't want them turning against each other. Gets along the worst with Raph as a result.

Very secretive about his past, mostly out of shame.

Just like canon, Yoshi learns that Saki is alive because of a news broadcast about ninjas in New York. He immediately goes to NY to find him, and Miwa chooses to come with.

Saki is SURE that Yoshi wants him dead, because he would if the roles were reversed fhkldaskgl. He'd probably let him, except he has his sons to take care of. Yoshi just really wants his brother back after all this time. Miwa DOES want Saki dead. Turtles have no clue what's going on, really, except that they can't tell this sad old man or this angry chick where they live.

I've wanted to make some drawings of this first but idc atm I want to share that I HAVE A PRSK GROUP SWAP AU!!! :D ..... and I care about them.... lots....!!!!

I've posted some of these images on my tiktok account but I want to move my postings about the AU to here cuz. It's just easier. And nicer.

Anyways all of the groups are in process and I'm still working on their aspects, designs and lores, and I will talk more about the characters + make drawings for them in the future

(I know the name isn't like this in the image it's just cuz I've changed my mind later on) Consisting of Minori (Leader), Mafuyu, An and Emu, and their music consists of cutesy melodies with a fun and catchy beat, with normally dark-ish lyrics. They also make choreographies for their songs and lives on their channel :)

HELL'S KISS is a metal band that takes their work and music very seriously, recently getting popular and going on professional, with only "The best of the best" members. Consisting of Airi (Face of the group), Shiho (Leader), Akito and Kanade

Vacation Days! A group that has happy and liberating songs, to demonstrate their desire to live life to the fullest and to take a break of their problems, just fun here!! Consisting of Saki (Leader), Toya, Shizuku and Nene

Hide-and-Seek is a vague and mysterious group, that the members feel like their dream or purpose in life is missing or troubled, and transform this into emotional, calm and melancholic tunes. Consisting of Rui (Leader), Ichika, Kohane and Ena

And lastly, Us & The Dance Floor! A group that works as a distraction to the members' problems and try to focus on their self-esteem and self-love issues, by creating jazzy and catchy songs to grab people's hearts and love. Consisting of Tsukasa and Haruka (Leaders), Mizuki and Honami

My initial off the top of my head wxs Pokémon partners match up would be

Nene - primarina/rotom/hatterene. Primarina is self explanatory, the rotom was originally rui’s but it possesses robonene so it’s hers now, and hatterene…

Emu - bewear/mr. mime/togekiss. Bewear is funny (& similar to the mascot bodyguard), Mr. Mime is self explanatory, togekiss is self explanatory wrt Pokédex entries.

Rui - porygon z/mimikyu/silvaly. I feel like all of these are pretty self explanatory.

Tsukasa - dragonite/sylveon/rapidash. Dragonite is a wxs world link reference, sylveon just fits, rapidash because there is no Pegasus pokemon.

so instead of what i did with Mercury VR, i'm just gonna post the rest of my groups in one post :) yeah

i'm a bit iffy on the cotton🍬sweethearts name so don't be surprised if the logo changes or something

the name is strving artists, which i kept like that so that whenever i want i can make it interpreted as 'starving artists' or 'striving artists'

this is very similar to the first unit i ever made, except since kanade's in Mercury VR i added mafuyu

I dont have anything specific to ask, but I want to know more about your Parent Swap AU. Why does Shredder favor two of his sons more than the others? Are there gonna be any ships in the story?

Shredder favors Raph and Mikey (Aka Raion and Keiji) because they tend to do what he would do. In the show, during seasons one and two, we see that Shredder's strategy is mostly "keep attacking until they falter" like during that one episode (that I can't remember) when they're talking about beating everyone in the foot clan, comparing the fights to a video game. That's more Raph's fighting style, which is why he's the leader and favorite. He also is most likely to tell the others to follow Shredder, which earns him favors, though not out of any loyalty, but fear for their safety.

Mikey gets slightly favored because he's always been the most excited and interested in stories about Tang Shen and Miwa. Shredder views that as support for himself, which is why Mikey gets more favors, though not as much as Raph, due to his short attention span. Though there are things Mikey doesn't agree with, he's able to hold off and hide it until Shredder's not there.

Leo and Donnie are different because they outright didn't agree with him. Donnie, as we see in the show, isn't afraid to speak his mind if he thinks something is dumb. He's also very inventive, which has led to problems. I figured Shredder would be less tolerant than Splinter when a machine fails, leading to Donnie drawing his ire more often than not.

For Leo, part of the reason I had Shredder hate him so much was simply the amount of hatred he has for him in the show. In this AU, Leo's still the mom of his brothers, and he always gets between Shredder and his brothers. Not only does this anger Shredder because he's getting in his way, it makes him think of Yoshi, who he hates more than anyone in the world. Throughout the story, this is going to become more and more ironic (situationally) as it's revealed that Leo's more like Shen, the woman Saki worships. (I really like how @virgilisspidey wrote about it in their Mama Leo fic, which is also what made me realize the comparison for the first time).

(Also, a little thing I try to keep consistent is that Shredder never refers to the turtles as his sons. They call him Father, but he doesn't call them his sons, he sees them as weapons. As such, he favors the best fighters.)

As for ships, probably not in this story. The way I'm planning it is that the fic out now, Parent Swap, is going to be the first part of a series, and is mostly going to follow season 1, though I deviate at many instances. In this one, the overarching plot is the turtles escaping Shredder and his abuse. As such, they don't really focus on anything like that. I would like to add more later, but I also struggle to write romance as an aroace. I would like to add Capriltello, though, later in the series, as that is one of my favorite ships.

Shredder sons! Or how he calls them "my trouble demons". Do not ask where he got the idea for their names. In order:

Diego Oroku/Leonardo Hamato-16 y/o is the little twin. Hides his fanboy attitude and face from others.

Gael Oroku/Raphael Hamato-16 y/o, and even though he is the older twin his attitude and height say other things. He is the chef of the brothers.

Tenoch Oroku/Donatello Hamato-17 y/o and the older brother as the leader who has to always carry at least one rope to stop his brother from killing themselves.

Jaime Oroku/Michelangelo Hamato-14 y/o, practically the little brother and the most "peaceful" of all. Loves to use his weapon as a toy.

Diego Oroku-Red-footed tortoise-thought like his brothers he is an omnivore, he actually eats more meat as his mouth shows that too. His weapon of choice is the katana twins but is essentially a master with any sharp weapons and bites. In general, he prefers not to be restrained but he can her docile and easy-going.

Gael Oroku-Russian tortoise-he LOVES space! Since he was little, aside from fighting, astrology and physics have been a hobbit that shares with Tenoch when he talks about science. He is very scared of snakes. His damaged Plastron was an accident caused when his father was protecting him and his brothers from the Krang. He is the only turtle to choose the same weapon as his father.

Tenoch Oroku-Greek tortoise-as the brains, the older brother, the leader, and maybe more. Tenoch never gets a rest when his father is not around. Will mostly pass his time inside his room building something, unless is a mission or an emergency he will never leave his room. He built a battle shell as a backpack where he keeps most of his deadly inventions. His main weapon was a simple lance before he fused it with an electric field that could fry the strongest hardware.

Jaime Oroku-Spotted turtle-the little guy! Obsessed with painting and any kind of art that can get him messy and hard to clean. He is the only one of his brothers who is semi-aquatic and will always go on little adventures through the sewers on behalf of giving Shredder a heart attack. Though he is very curious, alert, and active, he can become stressed if there's too much in his surroundings or if his family is away for a long time.

Sibling swap:

This is just an excuse to project chronic pain on Tsukasa. Originally considered just giving Saki a physical disability instead of illness, but idk it felt wrong? Like that would fundamentally change her experience by changing it.

So yeah, Tsukasa was born with a misshapen spine (based on spina bifida, except the part that you can tell someone has it from birth) that causes severe pain, especially in the back, along with weakness and lack of sensation in the legs and lower back area. Also when he was younger, before Physical therapy, his legs would sometimes give out on him

Before his legs stopped working for the first time, his parents didn’t take him seriously about the pain he was in, they weren’t being malicious just typical non-recognition from able bodied people. So he spent awhile thinking what he was going through was normal and kinda permanently internalized the idea that any pain that wasn’t entirely debilitating was just something to work through-

Of course once his condition was discovered, he spent a lot of time in and out of the hospital with the amount of surgeries he needed along with mapping plans for his future. E.x, treatment plans including projected support needs based off his current condition, what level of mobility aids would he need at all times based off his, well, mobility and of course what type and how much physical therapy he would need in the moment and moving forward.

While it ends with Tsukasa having the core strength of a god, PT (physical therapy) at the start was Hell. Since he had little to no strength at the start, even doing something as simple as leaning forward was incredibly painful. A combination of pain along with frustration of not being able to do incredibly basic movements is hard for anyone to deal with, let alone a child, so it’s really no surprise Tsukasa hated the PT and also tended to completely lose his chill during sessions- Honestly if young Tsukasa knew curse words he’d be a damn sailor!

(Side note anyone who says canon Tsukasa would be anything but strong obviously have never done stunt work or dance. Mans got that lean muscle, do not discount him because he’s a theater nerd and not a jock)

He still plays piano and wants to become an actor, his mom was teaching him piano before his disability was known and it was one of the few activities he enjoyed that he could still do reasonably well while not pushing himself. Except the whole posture part, he can’t sit up straight because of how his spine is bent, so he uses the piano itself to push himself upright, yes he’s very bad at playing softly.

Still he becomes quite skilled since he spends so much time playing and ends up bonding with saki over it. As she says, he would play with her for however long it took her to figure it out and whenever she was able to play the whole thing right, he’d smile at her so genuinely Saki believed that maybe for that little bit he’d forget about his pain. That’s what inspired her to not only learn piano as best she could, but also write music. So there’d always be a new piece to perfect and make her brother smile.

Of course since Saki goes to school normally, she has access to her piano a lot more and is more proficient at playing and making music by the time leo/needs story happens than in canon. Also she definitely plans to go pro, she wants to create music that makes you momentarily forget all the bad things in life and share it with everyone!

Tsukasas reason for wanting to be a star is the same as canon, except it’s about how the star made everyone, including himself, smile for real and made his family happy, washing their worries away. So he wants to be a star to make his family smile in genuine happiness around him, instead of strained and worried smiles.

When WxS story takes place, Tsukasa is not going to school and is instead enrolled in online classes. Partially to suite how often he needs to be in the hospital, but also because none of the nearby schools are particularly accessible- by this point Tsukasa has enough mobility to be able to walk without aids for short periods of time and otherwise mostly use crutches, although he does have a walker for bad days and also for holding stuff. But that’s on generally flat ground, having to walk up and down stairs in a school setting would be decidedly Bad.

Other small details: Wonderland Sekai is slightly changed, the floor is all clouds which are super soft and easy to walk on, and the gravity in the Sekai is noticeably lighter which makes walking a bit easier on someone who’s constantly weighing down on themselves because of spine problems.

Tsukasa still has memory issues, but it’s hard to see them as a real thing when it makes sense that days of doing the same things kinda just bleed together. They are still a problem, just harder to recognize.

Due to weakened sensations in his legs, Tsukasa has a lot of little scars on them from not being able to feel when he’s gotten injured.

I do have WxS general story arch laid out, but this is already getting long so I’ll make that another post (if people want it?)

All I’ll say about it is, the troupe do Not know about Tsukasa’s disability for a good bit of it and it will cause problems™️
