at this point i NEED to give an honour mention to @berisims becase Morgyn may not be an original character but i LOVE her Mor so freaking much. Oh and @lilamausmaus's Nero which I know absolutely nothing about but has an impeccable aesthetic

Simblr Gratitude Day!

I'm not a huge fan of listing people by name because I'm always worried I'll forget someone or that somebody will feel left out; however, I'm going to do this anyway. This list is by no means exhaustive and it's not going to be in any particular order.

Before I get started specifically mentioning people, I just want to say a huge thank you to all my followers (nearly 900 of you!) and to everyone who's ever interacted with anything I've ever posted.

This blog is eclectic, disorganized and generally chaotic (probably a lot like me), so I want to thank everyone for putting up with my nonsense for the past three years on this blog, and since 2015 on my old one. Thanks to everyone who likes my posts, thank you to those who reblog, and an extra-special thank you for people who comment on my posts. The comments give me the biggest and best hits of dopamine, I assure you!

Most of all, I want to share my appreciation for everyone who has the courage to put themselves out there, everyone who has a passion for this game after so many years, and the absolute abundance and variety of creativity I see on here every day. No matter what you're doing on here, every single one of you matters and each of your endeavours are worth it. Keep being creative, helpful, kind and generous. You make simblr a better place.

Mishka’s Cowplant 🌱🐮

The last time we saw Mishka’s cowplant, it was just a pair of horns sticking out of the ground. It’s fully grown now, and it has a healthy appetite.

Mishka keeps it well-fed so it doesn’t try to lure in meals for itself.

...and there's not a speck of glitter in sight. I think it's obvious who's in charge in this relationship when it comes to wardrobe choices for public events.

Milena is an immigration lawyer with a very successful practice, and Stan is a figure skating coach and former competitive skater. Stan and Milena have one daughter and two grandsons. They share their home with a dog and a cat, and their doors are always open to all their "adopted children" (a.k.a. Stan's current and former students who may need a helping hand or a hot meal and some comfort).

Stan and Milena would like to invite you in for a tour of their home.

To begin, here are some outside views:

They spend a lot of time in their back yard, and they've taken the time to make it both cozy and beautiful.

On the first floor, there's the kitchen, dining room and living room, as well as a bathroom, guest bedroom and laundry room.

Ice the cat is constantly on the counters. Milena has given up trying to train her not to jump onto every surface.

A couple of hallway views (featuring Milena & Stan's favourite closet):

Laundry room:

The door in the laundry room leads out to the garage, where Stan keeps his woodworking bench and where they store all the outdoor equipment like gardening tools and snow shovels. The other garage door leads out to the back yard.

Milena's car takes up the other part of the garage.

Back inside, there's the open concept sitting room and dining room, complete with a fireplace to keep everyone cozy on snowy or rainy days.

The guest bedroom doesn't have a lot of clutter. Stan and Milena leave it up to their steady stream of guests to provide their own. The other door in here (on the yellow wall) leads into the downstairs bathroom, which is also accessible from the front hallway. Having a door to the bathroom inside the bedroom makes it more private and discreet for guests.

This is Ice. She does what she wants:

Milena: Popcorn isn’t for dogs, Domino.

Domino: Please, Mother? I’m a good girl. I deserve a treat, don’t I?

Milena: Oh, all right. Just one piece.

Domino is spoiled by both her human parents. She loves attention and doesn’t discriminate.

Time well wasted on my day off 😆

I successfully made an elevator that can be placed anywhere on a lot, and it can be placed multiple times. I actually had to do it twice because I accidentally deleted the footprint on the first one and couldn't figure out how to get it back. Oops.

Anyway...

It's not perfect, but I'm happy with it and it'll do for story purposes for now. I have to fix the normal map, and I have to see why that little ramp in front is showing up on my edit and not on the original. Nevertheless, I'm calling this a good day's CC-making.

My multiple placement elevator is made from a closet. I was going to remove some of the closet tuning, but then I remembered that closets are woohoo/make-out locations, and I thought... I need my sims to be able to make out in an elevator! So, here we are.

Victor came over to visit Yuri at work, and of course they tried it.

Yuri: It's my office. I can do what I want.
