I got bored and wanted to write a small StarkShadow (my ship name for Tony and Kage) fic. I'm where the idea came from, I just wanted Kage to fight something cool with her Mecha arms and wings Tony made her. I guess this could also be Post-infinity war too since Dr. Strange isn't in the fic. Anyways enjoy.

Smoking is bad, even for dragons.

It had been a year. A whole year, since the event that tore Kage apart. Even though things had returned to normal and everyone was back, seeing her friends and the ones she loved lose to Thanos was still fresh in her mind. No amount of human intervention could cause her to forget. Nothing except smoking. Usually nicotine would be harmful to Humans but for her it acted as a sedative and alcohol effected her more than humans as well.

So there she was. Laying on the edge of the highest building in New York. She unscrewed the empty cartridge of her e-cig then replaced it before she took a long drag and let out a cloud of light grey and purple smoke. She enjoyed smoking as well since it calmed her and it made her feel at peace.

He sound of rockets followed by the sounds of the fire escape door opening caused her to morph one of her Mecha arms into shield form to get the sun from her eyes, "you brought Peter?" She asked and glanced at Tony before she reached beside her for her beer, "I'm not Parker, Kage" a deep voice calls but she morphs the shield back into her claw then shot it off the edge. A moment later the sounds of yelling caused both Tony and Stephen to sigh, "hi guys" Parker grins sheepishly, "I thought I told you not to follow us" Tony growled, "I just wanted to make sure she was ok too...." Parker blushes, "this isn't really a good place for you to be. Especially with a-", "I know what you're thinking but right now what she needs is not what you two are going to do. Kage, I'm hungry how about we get some tacos?" Parker interrupts Stephen, "Peter you really need to head home. really" Tony instructs him, "Shadow?" Parker calls to her softly as Stephen leads him toward the fire escape door.

A loud thump causes Stephen to free, "Peter! Gliding spider!" Kage yells then Parker breaks free of Stephen's grip and jumps over side of the building next to her, "what are they doing?!" Stephen yells as Kage smirks and flips off the side. Halfway down Kage catches up to Parker in which he clings to her back before he shoots a web to a building that sends them launching into the sky so Kage can deploy her wings.

As Tony watches their coordination in fascination high above, Stephen flies after them to try and catch them as Kage dodges in and out of the buildings to catch Parker as he glides back down. I'm annoyance, Stephen shoots an energy ball towards Kage only to have her block it and dive into the subway with parker. The subway was busy this time of day and Stephen sighed as he tried to find them. Finally he saw them get on the subway and he too got on just in time but on the wrong cart. A subway ride later he ran after them only to find that they were two kids that looked similar.

On the other side of town, Kage and Parker sat in a taco lounge, "that was a great idea giving him the slip" Parker laughed, "ah he forgets I have my own magic" she Snickers and munches on a taco, "but I thought you might want to ditch them. I know you're going through alot and probably didn't want a huge lecture" Parker shrugs, "indeed I did. You seem to understand me more than them even though you are young and human" Kage glances at him, "we've all been there, I mean I still get lectured by my aunt so of course I understand that more" he joked, "yeah, your still a good friend to have, even you Tony" she smirks at Parker and a hologram of Tony appears, "whoa! Since whe-", "since the Thanos incident Parker" Tony teases, "So you heard all that?" Kage sighs, "yeah and I know where you both are. Don't worry Stephen doesnt. He is too annoyed how you both out smarted him to ask me for a solution. How about you come back to my place for a drink Kage and you Parker, you have school tomorrow so go get some sleep" Tony suggests, "fair enough" Kage shrugs, "alright then see you soon" Tony nods then then the hologram fades, "guess we gotta go huh...." Parker sighs, "no worries we will hang out soon" she smiles and makes a portal to his room, "that's still so cool" he chuckles as he walks through it, "maybe one-day I'll teach you. Good night Peter" she smiles as she ruffles his hair before the portal fades.

The sound of a portal opening then closing made Tony chuckle, "still know this place in and out don't you?" He calls as Kage walks in and sits at the bar, "yep, you know my poison" she glances outside, "indeed I do" he says sliding her a large glass of a blueish drink, "mmmmmmmm yes" she grins and chugs it down, "I didn't know you and the kid were that coordinated. Where did you learn that?" Tony asks as he takes a sip of his own drink, "he came to see me at the sanctum as I was training. I needed flight practice so he wanted to try some things and we ended up being very coordinated so yeah" Kage nodded, "fun. Why did you think losing wizard boy was a good idea?" Tony inquires, "geez you sound like heem...." She hissed and took out her e-cig, "Kage don-", she had already puffed out a cloud of smoke by the time he started, "yu know betr than too teel me nawt too do eet" she growled and took another drag.

Without warning, Tony walked behind Kage and held her tight. She let out a sigh and lowered her ears before she looked at her Mecha arms, "I.....I never tolded you tanks......I sowwy......" She slurred but Tony kept holding her, burying his head into her scaly neck. Finally he breathed out what seemed to be a sob but the alcohol started to hit, "Toooneeeee are yoooo okkiee dookieee?" She said in a sing song way and he only tightened his grip, "I'm sorry.....I'm so so sorry angel....." Tony sobbed, kage's mind instantly cleared, "Tony...?" She asked and shifted to where she was facing him, "I didn't mean for you to get so hurt by this. I'm so sorry......no one not even you, especially you..... should never have to see what you saw....." He sobbed more, "Tony....how many drinks did you have?" She asked and she looked to see an empty bottle of wine next to a nearly empty bottle of champagne, "oh Tony...." She sighs and nuzzles him, "Angel....." He whimpers, "Tony don't call me that....I'm not....I'm not your angel...." She glances off, "I know.....your Stephen's....." He sniffs, "we aren't together Tony. He wants to keep it professional....for my safety...." She looks away, "he is a fool....anyone that got the privilege to be with you would be lucky......." He sighed and rested his head on her shoulder, clearly drunk, "How so?" She asked curiously, "Your smart, funny, cute, you don't let anyone say you can't do anything. Even though you had a hard past you look at it like it was a challenge you over came.....and your so much different from us humans" he chuckles drunkenly, "heh ok Tony I think it's time you get to bed before you say something you regret" she shakes her head as she helps him to his bed, "only thing I regret is you, not being with you" he sighs as he flops in his bed, "and there it is" she rolls her eyes and goes to walk off but he grabs her tail, "don't leave me.....please?" He asks looking at her, "fine.....but only if I can smoke" she glances at him, "just this once I'll accept it".

She sits on the bed beside him and he lays in her lap, "smoking is bad, even for dragons." He murmurrs, "you know it helps me" she sighs as she exhales a large cloud, "what if you found something else that could help?" He asks, "nothing else helps. You know I've tried everything....." She sighs more, "all but one thing" he whispers, "what do you me-" she was cut off by him jumping up and kissing her, "haven't tried that" he smirked, "tsk, your too drunk to try that" she hisses, "I'm very good with acting" he smirked and showed her a blank breathalyzer reading, "why you little!" She went to hit him but kissed him back instead, "well?" He asked, "I need to be more sober to test my theory" she chuckles and flips beside him, "guess we'll have to try in the morning then" he laughs, "indeed so".

I just got out of my pool and I want to write a StarkShadow TSOW AU story. The Shape of Water was a really good movie legit.

Pretty much I had the idea that Tony and Steve would be Eliza and Zelda and they would work at a facility or whatever but either Bucky or Stephen would be the scientist Dr. Hoffstetler that wants to help. Kage of course would be the creature but she would be more dragon-like.

The gist of the story would be that Tony is mute, due to a childhood accident and lives with Pepper (she's older than him, to match up with Giles, the man Eliza lives with in TSOW) who is a fashion designer. He works as a janitor in this facility with his best friend Steve. One day a strange man by the name of Obidiah (meh) brings a huge tank into the facility and catches the attention of Tony so he meanders over to the tank and taps on it which causes the creature inside to screech and thrash about. (Aka this scene 👇)

Well after that little interaction Tony tries to go by the room to see what exactly what was in the tank, much to Steve's disapproval but one day he and Tony are called to the room because of an accident. The small tank is gone but a taller tank with a window replaced it (I think it wraps around to the one surface pool?). As Steve cleans one side, Tony does the other but when he walks by the window he sees a silhouette and two glowing eyes watching him. Stepping closer he watches the silhouette shift into a creature and it too comes closer (Aka this scene👇)

After that, nearly every day for lunch he comes to the room and offers the creature bits and pieces of his food to gain it's trust. Tony found that it enjoyed fish the most so he made a note to bring some fish for it.

A few times, while he and Steve were in the room, Tony noticed that the creature was trying to copy the hand signs he was doing so Tony slowly taught it certain words like 'fish' and 'hello' as well.

One-day, Tony and Steve are called back to the room for another clean-up but this time there was a purple inky liquid on the floor and Tony noticed that it was also in the pool. Tapping on the tiles around the pool he looked around but the creature looked to be gone. A faint chirp called his attention to a dark corner of the room and he noticed a trail of the liquid went to the corner. As he followed it the sounds of gasping and whimpering got louder until he was face to face with the creature which was injured badly. Tony signed 'are you ok? What happened?' And the creature limped into the light to show a huge gash on its underside and Tony also noticed a chain around its neck.

The following day Tony and Steve were called to the main office to be questioned about the creature. It seemed like the man running this operation had also taken a liking to Tony but he wasn't having none of that. So every other day or so Tony would sneak into the room to visit the creature but One day there was a scientist who had to stay behind. He greeted Tony and told him he didn't care for how Obidiah was treating the creature either and he also revealed to Tony that the creature was female and they wanted to try and breed her to have more but the was more hostile to everyone except Tony. The scientist agreed to let Tony see the creature as long as he could take observations of how they interacted.

This went on for a week or two before Obidiah got impatient and charged in and tried to have his way with the creature but much to his dismay, she ended up nearly ripping his arm off so he had her chained down to the floor while he recovered. When Tony came to see her he was all but enraged and went to the scientist for help. Together with Steve and, they devised a plan to get the creature out but how to get her to his place was a different story.

Pepper wasn't too keen on helping Tony steal an unknown creature and bringing back to their home but Tony told Pepper how he felt and how he wanted her to be safe and protected so she gave in and joined in the plan.

Much to Obidiah's madness the kidnapping of the creature goes smoothly and it taken to Tony and Pepper's house where Tony allows the creature to stay in his pool like bathtub. Just like any other inhuman creature the creature, which Tony named Kage (Kage means Shadow) due to her jet black scales, she needed alot of special needs like a certain type of water (which the scientist provided a special mix for them to put in the water) and food (Tony figured out that when bought in bulk fish was cheaper) but nonetheless he cared for her and they grew closer.

All was going good until one day, Tony woke up to her gasping and whining next to him. He and Pepper had to help her back into the water but it seemed that it wasn't doing much so Pepper called the scientist to check on her. Come to find out, she had been away from the ocean too long and needed to go back and Obidiah was starting to catch onto them. There was a day that was perfect for Kage to return as there would be a storm and it would take her car out to sea where she belonged. That was 2 weeks away.

That's pretty much all I have but I'll maybe try to write a rough draft or teaser. If anyone is interested let me know.

Also bonus: Kage and Tony gonna fuck but the cat eating scene isn't gonna happen. I love cats and I cant bring myself to put that in my story.
