“Shh-shh, quiet Sophie please,” Ruby mumbled as she bounced the little infant in her arms. She was exhausted with dark circles under her eyes and a pale completion far waxier than that of a vampire. She hadn’t slept in a while... so long. She was exhausted. “Either move the fuck on or offer some advice but stop gawking,” Ruby’s tone shifted to a harsh one when she saw somebody looking at her. Moms were judgy, and she didn’t ask for this.

Sometimes she was too quick to agree to things because she wanted to be a good person and nothing made that more obvious than the grueling 1100 mile drive she had ahead of her. Normally she would have just flown to Georgia for the wedding but doing that would mean having to ship the dress and Ruby wasn’t going to do that. After all she’d spent months designing and sewing the dress and had promised at the last fitting that nothing would happen on the trip to the wedding. So how could she change that just because her boyfriend decided to be a flake and not go with her anymore? She was carefully putting the dress bag in the back of her car when someone put a bag down near her. The brunette looked from the bag and slowly up to the other person before her expression turned confused. The bride had mentioned her older brother living near Ruby and that the two fo them should ride together but this looked nothing like the guy she remembered.

Granted she had grown up since being a seventeen year old spending the last night of summer looking up at the stars next to him but it had only been six years. “Hey.” She put on a smile before setting the bag in just the right position so there would still be room for everything else without doing anything to mess up the dress. it was the only thing in the car that really mattered. “Thanks for doing this. I’m sure you would rather be flying so... thanks. I really appreciate it.” She smiled before putting her bags into the back of her crossover. “It’s been a while right?”

It didn’t take him long until he found the library, any other day would take him ages to find it since he had never been there before but this time it was easy to find it. Once he spotted Ruby, he made his way towards her, holding the prom ticket that he told her he would buy, as he also held his math homework. As he approached her, he waved at her. “What’s up Zizes?” He asked, as he handed her the math homework. “Here, I need it done by Thursday. I might have drawn on it a bit and I don’t think you can erase crayons.”
