Давно давлю в себе этот пост. ⠀ Но блин, слишком много людей пишут мне об этом. О голых животах в съемке беременности. ⠀ Я как-то привыкла снимать своих беременяшек (а вчера ещё узнала название "беремулька") в одежде, и животик голый не показывать. И многие девочки пишут, как это тактично и непошло - не показывать живот. Мужчины (по собранной мною статистике) тоже против голопузиков 🤰. ⠀ Я же склоняюсь к тому что голым животам - свое место. В тематических спортивных съёмках например, или в йоге....или где? Day 16 of my Advent Calendar is a step back to 2012 when I had the pleasure of photographing a ‘Vintage Tea Party’ for The Wedding Factor magazine. This was the first shoot undertaken by the newly-formed @thepropfactory under the supervision of Carmen. I visited them at their Exeter base some seven years later, to discuss a mega-shoot next year and my, hasn’t their organisation grown. Work coming out of their ears, props to die for and employing probably half the city of Exeter - a tremendously successful and well organised business! As part of a multi-collaborative shoot I did in the summer, this is probably one of the most divisive images I have ever produced. Entitled “Bercow’s Badge” it is a visual metaphor for the current situation in which the UK finds itself - stricken and stumbling blindly into the future; engulfed by the smokescreen and hot air emanating from our hapless Prime Minister. Against a transparent wall of continental disappointment and derision, there is still hope that a way can be found to achieve the unachievable - or just see it all for the folly it is and revoke Article 50! I was very honoured to photograph the ridiculously talented @tamsinballsinger as part of my ‘Warrior Women’ series. We discussed at length the theme of the shoot and the metaphysical aspects and associations of the props. Tamsin wanted to include her beloved Samurai sword and combining that with the constraints of the pink cord we arrived at this beautiful image that works at a pictorial and metaphysical level. It’s mid-July and the lavender fields in Sault, Provence are in full bloom. In 2000, and before children, my wife & travelled down to the South of France in our beautiful TVR Griffith to sample the atmosphere and intoxicating smell of these expansive fields.This photo was an old 35mm Fuji Velvia transparency taken on my Contax G-1 that I was using at the time. Well I can finally reveal the most exciting project that I have worked on in years! The very lovely @tamsinballsinger asked me to provide the photography and design for her new album ‘Notturno’. With the release date tomorrow I can post the image which is featured on the front cover. The shot was taken in the woods of @tawstockcourt where the trees have a magical quality. The theme if the album was night, which allowed me to explore the darker side of imaging. Tamsin was an incredible model as well as an incomparable singer and I have vivid memories of being serenaded whilst changing lenses, lighting etc! It also allowed me to create a surreal image featuring a little bit of compositing! Shot on my Olympus OM-D EM-1 mk 2 and 12-40mm Pro lens, mounted on a Benro carbon fibre tripod and shooting with Delkin Black cards.
