2014

*sigh*

Like every other year end,a lot of us review and evaluate how the year has gone for us…..and then resolutions come next.

I’m not exactly a creative writer..lol..still working on that,so please pardon me when I start blabbing.

2014 has been pretty overwhelming…. ��Some general happenings  over the year in no particular order;

1.The Ebola outbreak

Now this was such an alarming and heartbreaking period,with families losing their friends and love ones to this disease. It took 8000 deaths to make us realize that our healthcare systems,facilities,policies and our begin to imagine the state I’d be in if a family or friend of mine was in a missing plane.God Help me.

3.Protests against the killing of unarmed black individuals ….by the police.

I’ll refrain from touching on this….cos I may not end if I start.But this is all I’ll say..:THE REVOLUTION HAS BEGAN.THE SYSTEMS MUST CHANGE..WHITE SUPREMACY MUST END.RACISM MUST END. TYRANNY WILL ONLY ESCALATE THE PROBLEM.MAY GOD TOUCH ALL HEARTS THAT HAVE BEEN HARDENED AND EMBITTERED BY THESE HAPPENINGS

Boko Haram . What happened to #BringBackOurGirls ?? The girls are still in captivity….don’t forget.

Now,over the past year….especially the last six months…I have learnt SO MUCHabout myself.

1. Talk……say what you want to.Don’t hold back for the fear of what people are going to say about you,or for the fear that people’s perspectives are going to change about you.

2.Becoming opinionated does NOT make you disrespectful,it does not make you inconsiderate of other peoples views,neither does it make it make you insensitive.

3.LOVE YOURSELF.Everything about about yourself.ALL of yourself.How you talk,your laugh,how you think about the weirdest things and laugh about them,how you talk to yourself…how you dance by yourself infront of the mirror and realize how silly you can be sometimes, LOVE it all!!

4.Don’t take time for granted….A LOT can change in a short time. Don’t let it pass you by.I have changed so much in a span of 5 months.

5.You will lose some friends as time goes by……It’s totally normal….hold close the ones you love,the ones who motivate, challenge and are loyal to you.

6.Learn to say No.

8.Be true to yourself. Seek to constantly learn and change and improve.Don’t feel eerie about it one bit,as long as you know who you are.Embrace the process of self evaluation and self discovery.Have conversations with yourself.I have always had the challenge of wanting to explore and change but stay true to who I am…I’m learning to keep a favorable balance,as God is my help.

9.With the constant negative occurrences…there is a high tendency for adaptation. There is high tendency to become almost ‘heartless’ because bad news comes from every angle.I heard and read about alot of the horrible things going on and I realize it got to a point where I would just say ‘oh’that is so sad.’ ‘Why are they doing these things?’……and then I’d forget about it and move on with my activities. Nothing struck me hard anymore…I had gotten so used to hearing bad news to the point where I didn’t exactly care. Thinking about it scares me,but I’m glad I noticed it..in order to make a change.

10.Being opinionated and having the ability to express yourself..does not make you any less of the introvert you are.(note to self)

I’d like to appreciate idrysmbiah pitymysimplicity gravity-at-last franticcurls rock-my-boatey made-from-fire unorthodoxconformist discotronich-infatuation dedebuckmann rippedoutpagesofmymind and my dear Efua Esibon of dislabelled. These amazing ladies have greatly influenced me in one way or another.They probably have no idea whatsoever how inspiring they are.. lol. Ya’ll are gaawwwwwggggeeeesssss,intelligent, strong women.I’m so happy. I don’t even know most of you personally and you’re already slaying!!!  I thank God for your lives.

Cheers to 2015 fam. Here is to a great successful new year.Filled with God’s mercies and grace for us.
