There's nothing worse than spending a couple of hours filming a video and looking at the replay only to discover there's a smudge on the lens.  My smartphone will actually warn me if the lens is dirty but not all cameras do that.  Whether you're taking photos  or shooting a video, get in the habit of cleaning the lens first. It will save you a lot of frustration. Your customers are exactly the same. And the good news is, although we hear experts saying how everyone is doing video, the reality is, they’re not. Are you missing from your social media?⁣ ⁣ In a time of selfies and TMI posting, a lot of entrepreneurs are still shying away from showing themselves on social media.⁣ ⁣ I get it.⁣ ⁣ I hate being on camera. In my head I’m still 23 but when I’m on camera I can’t deny I’m in my 50s.⁣ ⁣ And I confess I still feel a little stupid and self involved taking selfies or talking on camera when I’m out in public.⁣ ⁣ But the truth is, business is about relationships. People still prefer buying from people they know, like and trust.⁣ ⁣ And while having an online business means people can’t shake your hand and look you in the eye, if you’re putting yourself in your social media they can do it virtually.⁣ ⁣ If you post photos of yourself, show your workspace, get on video and talk to your audience, they get the chance to know who you are. What you stand for. See that you’re a real person just like them.⁣ ⁣ They get to know, like and trust you.⁣ ⁣ And I promise you … no one will buy from an online business without trust.⁣ ⁣ My challenge to you:⁣ ⁣ Take a look at your social media and your website. Are you there? Are you giving people a chance to know who you are? ⁣ ⁣ If the answer is “no” start today. Post a selfie with an introduction. If you have a dream, even if it's batshit crazy, maybe you should go for it. Especially if it's batshit crazy. ⁣ ⁣ 2️⃣ Are you serving the right clients? If you're attracting and working with your tribe working with them is so damn much fun. When you have a meeting with a client and you want to crawl back in bed that person isn't your tribe.⁣ ⁣ 3️⃣ Can you outsource the bits you hate? I couldn’t be bothered to put on makeup today so this photo for my #fridayintroductions is from earlier this week.⁣ ⁣ Rather than talk about my business credentials I’m going to share 5 random facts about me personally so you can get to know the woman behind the business;⁣ ⁣ 1️⃣I’m Canadian🇨🇦 and although I can complain about the weather with the best of us, I like winter but only when it’s colder than -20 Celcius🌡. Why? Because if it’s -20 C it’s too cold to snow so we probably have a nice sunny day🌞. If it does snow❄ it’s the light fluffy kind and you could clean your driveway with a sneeze. And when you walk on snow in -20 weather it makes this cool squeak sound.⁣ ⁣ 2️⃣I contend that one of the top ten inventions of the 21st century is fleece lined leggings. Why? See number one ⁣ 3️⃣I’m fanatically gluten free and eat #keto since 2017. Since starting this I accidentally lost 55 lbs, stopped getting migraines and for the first time in my life can wear high heels 👠without being in agonizing pain.⁣ ⁣ 4️⃣I’m a huge baseball ⚾️fan … but you already knew that.⁣ ⁣ 5️⃣Chocolate 🍫avocado🥑 pudding is one of the best foods. Online video lets people virtually look you in the eye. It lets your followers see the person behind the business.⁣ ⁣ Two types of videos help with the know, like and trust factor to help people move from being followers to becoming clients - the expertise video and the personality video.⁣ ⁣ The expertise video shows people that you know your stuff, that you’re an expert in the field. Often this type of video involves teaching something to your audience. Rather than just telling them you’re the expert, you’re showing them.⁣ ⁣ The second type of video is the personality video. In this video you share something personal - a hobby, an interest, your pet or your family. Save time with your content creation by repurposing your live videos.⁣ ⁣ Upload your live videos to to IGTV.
