We might have our differences of opinion on how much water he actually needs, but my Stromanthe Triostar is definitely my favorite plant.

I’ve been working on some (very much self indulgent) plant stickers I will be releasing soon to open my store for the first time!
I love drawing plants, it has always been my comfort and my go to when I draw. I really can’t not include plants in my art!

Went over my calathea shelf to check for pests and make sure nobody needed water (somebody did) so I have pictures!!

My rattlesnake & stromanthe are so happy :D my smaller rattlesnake is also producing bigger leaves now too! I didn't get a picture of her tho, I really just wanted pictures of these two because they're SO FULL! which means I might be dividing them soon :3

(rotundifolia leaf 👁️👁️) my ivy is also thriving! Not that I really expected trouble from her lol

Anthuriummmm :3 she's flowering!!!! I wasn't sure what color her flowers were when I first got her so I'm very glad to know now that she has pink flowers!
Also obligatory succulent shelf pics because she's right beside my bed and the easiest to take pictures of :)

On the lower shelf I recently brought the sedum prop pot out of the greenhouse, the watermelon pep is doing much better! I think she just needed more water than I originally thought, my ripple jade cuttings are rooting in their nice spacious terracotta pot & the ogre ear is settling in nicely :)

All my top shelf succulents are doing well too :) except my hen & chicks and the little funky one in the tiny terracotta pot,, not sure what their problems are but I might end up repotting them if they don't get better idk

My stromanthe triostar is doing much better after I started using filtered water.
And an unidentified calathea or ctenanthe I rooted has made a new leaf

The Stromanthe plant is a stunning tropical houseplant known for its vibrant, variegated leaves that move with light, creating a mesmerizing effect. It thrives in humid environments, purifies the air, and adds a lush, colorful touch to any space. Perfect for plant lovers seeking an eye-catching, low-maintenance addition to their home

got a stromanthe triostar this weekend and the vendor was telling me how to water it, but i wanted to do more research bc i do desperately Do Not want to kill it, and now i have a million contradicting instructions, like one person says don’t water it at all and then another says to remove the plant from the soil and just plop it in a pot of water??? bro what??

I'm gonna talk about how I found my favorite plant family EVER because I think it's an interesting story
So I was just getting back into gardening & I had an idea for a purse-type accessory that's literally just a plant and I WAS just gonna draw it but I thought that would be fucking SICK to have irl so I tried to look for a plant that doesn't hate moving around a lot. Unsurprisingly, they all prefer to stay in one place, even if they're potted. But my research brought me to plants that move their leaves, prayer plants!!! They move their leaves to get more sun during the day and then they close up at night which is ADORABLE , and they're sooo gorgeous literally all of them are so pretty and THEYRE PET SAFE 🎉🎉 and all of these things made me watch tons more videos about them and eventually get some of my own<3 theyre still my favorite kind of plants and im still collecting them! I don't have many more than when I started tho because I spent my first spring fucking around with seeds despite having the WRONG conditions to be doing that at the time
#whoever let me have a blog to talk about plants fucked up#i will NEVER shut up#i love plants#calathea#maranta#stromanthe#prayer plants

here's my obligatory "i swear i'm not dead yet!!!" post for 2024! i'll finally be DONE FOREVER with college this june, which means i can go back to my hobbies again (sims included).
last time i made something was last september (yikes). i'm probably very rusty but i've also learned a lot of cool stuff in blender these past few months which i hope i can use in my future creations :-)
as for my plants........ well lol. all i have left are:
Aloe Vera
Maranta Leuconeura
Philodendron Pink Princess (the only one from my first batch of plants that survived lol)
Philodendron Pink Princess Marble (lots of pink! i like it better than the regular ppp since the variegation is very stable and all leaves got pink in them)
Pothos Marble Queen (this one got huge!)
Pothos N'joy
on the bright side they are all doing great since i've finally found the secret to keeping plants alive: ignoring them as much as possible lol. now i see i killed most of my plats by overwatering and over fertilizing. and as much as i love them i'm also staying away from delicate plants like calatheas bc my city's weather is just not good for them.
here's a list of all the plants i killed in 2022-2023:
Stromanthe Sanguinea Triostar (this one HURT SO MUCH omg)
Stromanthe Sanguinea
Philodendron Pink Princess 2.0
Calathea White Fusion
Tradescantia Fluminensis Tricolor
Aglaonema China Red
Calathea Ornata
that's all lol... see u soon! <3
