As the Fourth of July fair comes to a close...  

It’s time to strap on those go-go boots, dawn your best pair of swanky bellbottoms, toss on a denim jacket, put on some bodacious neon tutus and stockings and head on over to the Ballroom in the Administration Building at 6 P.M. sharp for a totally far out and groovy trip through the decades at the dance! BUT You gotta promise us we’ll be back in tiiiiiimmmee [ you can bet this song is playing when you enter the dance after going through each decade room ]

You’ll be given a wristband and a name tag as you enter the dance from the 1950s room and travel through the decades chronologically until you find your way into the big ballroom for the dance! ( Think of it like a circle ).

Outfits:

There are a few restrictions on this challenge. To really make you guys work for it, we’re going to ask you stay away from movie / tv and halloween costumes. We want to see as authentic as you can get! So sadly there will be no: Scooby Gang, No T-Birds, Pink Ladies jackets, and the like.  Here are boards for each decade if you need inspiration: 50s , 60s , 70s , 80s , and 90s.

Posts these as either a photoset, Polyvore set picture, a collage with gifs and images if you feel inclined.  This is worth 5 points.

The society as a whole should come up with a playlist of about 10 songs from their given decade. This can range from popular hits to one-hit wonders of the era. Be sure to have ONE person from your society POST it so we mods can compress them all into one large playlist for the dance. This is worth 10 points. Graphics optional.

You’ve all been brainstorming about these since the event was announced. Now’s the time to show us. Each Society HAS to post what is in the room decoration wise and if any music or food will be used. ONE person needs to post this. If it’s not posted by tomorrow 10 AM [ MST AZ ] it doesn’t count and you’ll lose the points. Even if you don’t make the cutoff you need to POST the picture. Otherwise, us mods, will post whatever we feel like posting from that decade, sucks to be you. The rooms are as follows:

Lastly, we’re going to ask you all pick ONE of the following cliches to do AT the dance. Successful completion of them will earn your society points. [ These are for the 90s ONLY ]

Successfully start and win a dance off using only the move of your decade [ 5 points ]

Reenact a 1990s music video in the middle of the dance. [ 8 points ]

Start a large group dance with either the Cupid Shuffle, Electric Slide, or Macarena [ 10 points ]
