SHIELD University's Golden Angel

The devastation of the recent bombing strike within SHILED University shook the campus to its core. There’s been a great deal of destruction and death and many demands for answers and justice. However, in the face off all this darkness there shines an unsung hero of the ground. A quite literal golden beacon.

Joshua Foley (18, Sigma Kappa, pictured) proved to be an invaluable force to combat the destruction that tragic night. As a golden-coloured healing mutant he took charge of the injured, saving the lives of many students who otherwise would have succumbed to their wounds before medical help arrived.

One such student had this to say:

“I was so terrified! I knew I was dying, and then he was there, a shining ball of gold. And I just knew everything was going to be alright.”

Several others have come forward with similar stories, wanting the exploits of this extraordinary young man told. While there’s no official number, it’s been claimed he healed hundreds of victims in the course of that night.

One bystander claims Mr. Foley saved the life of resident teacher Peter Quill who appeared to have been dead mid-way through treatment. “It was a miracle how he managed to do it. A damn miracle!” We were told.

As if all that weren’t enough, witnesses report that as the SHILED Med-Team hit the scene the golden hero began issuing orders and overseeing the healing efforts throughout the campus, continuing to do in the days after within the campus med-bay.

This reporter was lucky enough to get into the med-bay and grab a few words from the hero of the attack.

“I- I just did what anyone else in my position would have done… Now please excuse me, I have patients to treat.”

Simple words that do little to describe how tirelessly hardworking this young man is. It’s comforting to know that in times as dark as these, SHIELD University really does has its own, Golden Angel.

Fourth of July Madison County Fair

 Come one, Come all!   

     You have been invited to join the fun at the Fourth of July Madison County Fair! The event will be complete with games, food, and booths from each and every society that graces our campus. Ranging from a kissing booth to a dunking booth, students and faculty alike will have some way to keep entertained. 

There is a twist, however. 

       The first booth you visit will be randomized and given to you when you receive your tickets at the gate. You MUST interact with the people who are manning that specific booth and your partner ( if you signed up for a booth ).  After that, you are more than welcome to roam around and check out what other wonders the fair has to offer!  For every booth YOU do visit, you will gain ONE POINT for your society ( that even includes replies ) and the chance to be your society’s MVP. Yes, kiddos, that title does come with bragging rights.

   BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!  

      There is another way to gain, EVEN MORE, points for your society and that is by taking THIS SURVEY to see which of our fair foods fits you best! We’d like to see if you agree or disagree with your results. But please remember to enjoy yourselves! Spend the day with family and friends enjoying the attractions, events, and entertainment that is sure to appeal to all!

Shaw read the note and looked through the gift set he had received. Christmas was more of an event Shaw understood he needed to participate in in order to be part of certain social circles than a holiday he actually enjoyed. And gift giving was always an interesting way to communicate with people. It was a shame he had no feelings about this gift one way or another. He would probably throw it away after an appropriate period of time had passed. But, of course, he would be thankful to his secret Santa upon meeting them.

It had been a little past one in the morning when Natasha got home from practice. Wearing yoga pants, a ballet Leotard and a hoodie she'd stolen from Danny, she was the picture of someone unconcerned.

The first thing she did was remove her shoes, then sneak into James’ room. Unsurprisingly, he was asleep, his breathing even and deep and his dog sleeping at the foot of his bed. She tiptoed her way to him, brushed his hair away from his forehead and smiled. He looked calm, peaceful, happy. With nothing better to do, she sat on the floor in front of his bed, ran her fingers through his hair, careful not to wake him up. It was so… weird. Natasha had never thought she'd have a son, and although she'd never gotten pregnant or raised anyone, there she was: feeling every bit as maternal and overwhelmed by love as mothers should be.

Knowing she'd kill every one of her friends to keep him safe was terrifying, but it was a fright she welcomed nevertheless.

When her fingers had gone numb from petting James’ hair, she stood up and stretched. A snack was in order - she'd been dancing for hours, after all. Hopefully, James hadn't emptied their fridge. If he had, she'd go grocery shopping (aka, steal from Adult James, Steve, Tony and Danny. Not from Clint because he never restocked his fridge with things still within their valid date).

Once in the kitchen, she opened the fridge and squinted at the harsh light. Ham, eggs, cheese, ketchup, Liho trying to climb inside as usual. Just as Natasha picked up her cat, something sharp pierced the skin of her neck, and she dropped Liho, who went with a screech.

James, she thought, and opened her mouth to scream and alert him as she reached for the gun on the kitchen table, but a hand covered her mouth, an arm wrapped around her throat and pulled her away. Natasha kicked out, but she was lifted off the floor easy as anything, as she thrashed and squirmed. She planted her feet on the countertop and shoved, making her and her attacker stumble backwards. Whatever she'd been injected with was working fast, making her vision dim with black blotches, her body heavy.  Reaching back, she tried to wrap her arm around their neck, so she could throw him over, but that move would require more control and strength over her lower body than she had. So instead, she went for the eyes, trying to scratch at them with her perfectly manicured fingernails.

Liho was meowing, scratching and biting whoever was attacking them, and good. James had to be up by now, but if he wasn't coming, then he'd either been drugged or locked inside. That meant that if he was the real victim, he was going to be kidnapped.

Natasha couldn't really hear anything but the blood pounding in her head as she struggled to breathe, but she did feel blood under her fingernails and tuffs of hair being ripped as she yanked on her attacker’s head.

Quickly, her body gave out to the drugs and the lack of oxygen. Natasha didn't even feel herself hit the floor.
