GROWING PAINS: A MINI LEGACY CHALLENGE by @ka1omi

i would first like to thank you amazing creators such as @thatssojordy @oshinsimblr @sashasspace @cocoelleansims @themintsimmer @ellesimsworld @simelune & many more for your amazing content and mods that make this game what it is.

@thatssojordy recently dropped a new mod called Growing Pains, which can be (and definitely should be) used in this challenge, and having immediately used it in game, it is honestly amazing and what inspired me to create this challenge. i've also been watching legacy LPs and just recently watched Inside Out 2 so this was born. it's nothing crazy, only 5 generations that can either be used in order or used as standalone challenges.

all packs are not required, however, they will enhance your gameplay as well as different mods that have been listed in the google doc. as this is my first ever legacy challenge i have created, please feel free to let me know on anything i can improve on or any changes that you would like to see or if you have any questions.

please please please tag me if you end up using this challenge, i would absolutely love to see all your beautiful sims and storylines!

Rosalind would spend her weekends at the park next to their house. There, she met several of the neighborhood kids

Rosalind's sense of family is very strong. She loves her family very much. As cheesy as it sounds, her dads are her best friends.

Brazen and Chris would do anything for their daughters. So they're happy to let her talk their ears off.

And in the evenings, Rosalind will let Marie ask her 100 different questions while she's busy with homework. Even will opt to do her homework some place that Marie could reach.

As strange as it was from the outside, Rosalind wasn't even opposed to having an alien sibling. At least at the moment, when she's contained to the house.

1338 – Day 1 – Chevalier Household

Elisaria hates Robert being away from Praaven. Especially when she’s horribly aware that he is not simply patrolling roads or chasing off the occasional group of bandits, but riding out to meet a horde of Scotsmen head-on. Hates it. As the wife of a knight, it’s nothing less than she should expect, but reality simply doesn’t chase away the fear for him that is gnawing at her insides.

With the King distracted by his new war in France, he has not only abandoned his campaign in Scotland, but drawn away precious troops, too. And like anyone would do when presented with such a golden opportunity, the Scots have immediately used this to launch a counter-attack. From what Elisaria has heard, they have re-taken several of the castles the English won before, and are now running havoc in English lands. With tales of marauding barbarians only miles north of Praaven, the earl has acted quickly, dispatching a force to intercept them and chase them off. And who else to lead that force but his trusted knight and brother, Sir Robert Chevalier of Praaven? Young Lady Maud’s husband is with them as well. Elisaria can’t help but wonder if the girl is as worry-sick for Edmund Talbot as she is for her own beloved husband.

But then again, the young lady might have other things occupying her mind. Lady Petersmarch has been ill more and more often of late, and according to Marguerite, who writes faithfully, she keeps to her chambers more often than not, with only her daughter and niece as company. Judging by Marguerite’s reports, she doesn’t look well.

Elisaria wonders whether it’s the grief that is draining the life from her. She has lost so many children, she is the last of her siblings, her parents are long-dead. Even her first – and so far, only – granddaughter never got a chance to live. Yes, there’s her two living children and her nephews and nieces, but so much loss must have eaten away at the woman, piece by devastating piece.

Such thoughts don’t serve to lighten Elisaria’s mood much, so she is almost grateful when she hears the door open and the sound of a tentative voice. “Maman? May I speak to you?”

When she turns her head, she sees her youngest daughter gazing at her, uncertain. Geneviève has turned six a short while ago, but with Marguerite in Praaven and Robert on his mission – leaving only Jehanne, Marie and Théofroy besides Elisaria to celebrate her –, her birthday has been a comparably subdued affair.

When she sees her daughter’s face, Elisaria musters a smile. “Of course, ma chère. What is it?”

“Is Father going to die?”

That question is just about the last thing Elisaria expected out of her daughter’s mouth, so it’s all she can do not to let her horror show on her face. “What makes you say that?”

“I heard some people talking on the road. They say that a lot of people die because of the Scots. And it has been so long since Father has left, and you’re sad all the time!”

Of course. With so many travellers passing by, many of them peasants or serfs travelling to town for market days, it’s no surprise that they would be talking about the raids. Their farming communities are far more likely to be harmed by them than the people of Praaven behind their walls.

She gets up to face her daughter, doing her best to look collected. “Those people weren’t talking about knights like your father. They are talking about innocent country folk whose farms were attacked. The very ones your father has ridden out to protect.”

“But isn’t that dangerous?”

“Your father has been trained to handle such things. And remember, he’s Lord Petersmarch’s most favoured knight”, Elisaria explains. Of course it is dangerous. Terribly dangerous, which is what keeps her up at night. But she doesn’t want to upset her daughter more by admitting as much to her. It’s more than enough if she worries, her children don’t need to trouble themselves like that.

Geneviève screws up her face. “That shouldn’t be so difficult, should it? Sir Silas is so old, and Marguerite says Sir Edmund is terribly arrogant.”

“Geneviève. Never say such discourteous things!”

“But it’s true!”, her daughter defends herself. Elisaria shakes her head.

“Whether it’s true or not doesn’t matter. You’re the daughter of a knight and the niece of a lord, not a peasant. You don’t speak your mind whenever you please.” Usually soft and kind with her daughters, she now makes sure that her voice is firm, bordering on strict. She will not have one of her children incur ire by speaking thoughtlessly. Geneviève may only be six, but it’s best if she learns that particular lesson early on.

Her sharp tone has the desired effect: Geneviève nearly winces, ducking her head and regarding her shoes very intently as she replies: “Yes, Maman. Of course.”

“It’s for your own good”, Elisaria says, far more soothingly than before. “You will learn very soon that people don’t like others being so very forthright. It is best for a lady to keep her thoughts to herself, however many of those she may have.”

She can tell that Geneviève wishes to object, but in the end, the girl simply nods. “Yes, Maman. But will Father…?”

“Your Father will return soon. I’m sure of it.”

As Cela and Elijah walk to town they talk about whatever comes to mind. Both enjoying the other's company but it isn't long before the see their friends.

Elijah and the girls take a seat. And the group of friends start laughing and joking. Elijah reassures them that his family and himself are doing fine.

Apollo and Titus pull Elijah from his seat wanting to mess around. The boys strike poses for the girls who laugh at their antics. Everyone is happy to see Elijah again and the mood shows it well.

Soon the group starts talking their home life's and parents. Cela complains that because her house doesn't have any men she's usually stuck doing all the heavy lifting. Elijah tell her that if she ever need help to just get him and he'll help.

Cela thanks Elijah and promises to take him up on his offer, while the other three exchange glances and laugh. Elijah is truly terrible at being discreet.

Elijah awkwardly smiles and the group teases Elijah. It seems that even getting away from his family doesn't stop Elijah from being a target. But Elijah wouldn't trade his friends for the world.

meet daisy lockhart and ronnie kettlington 💛🩵

a pair of musicians who fell in love, daisy is outgoing and bubbly, and always willing to lend a helping hand. ronnie, while always friendly and helpful himself, has an undeniable stutter that can sometimes make him seem less charismatic than he actually is. the two of them met in school, where daisy was there on scholarship, and being picked on by other students for it. ronnie quickly grew to be her dearest friend, going so far as to dress more femininely to make daisy more comfortable around him (and learning that he quite enjoys feminine fashion in the process).

Finally! After 2 weeks of searching Eduardo discovers a Pink Diamond! The science facility rewards this heart-shaped donation with some blueprints for him to make a 'mysterious invention'!

And then, of course, because my game loves to antagonize me, Geyser digs up another TWO(!?) the very next day!

We'll keep them in storage for now, as you never know when some more diamonds might come handy in the future 😉
