'God's love can heal and complete you' . How often we hear this preached at church, written in books, advised by someone else? I always says amen but in real life there are a lot of puzzle pieces that's missing, sometimes I know what pieces I needed, sometimes I don't even know that it's gone, and worse, I don't even care anymore. But thats's not Who our God is. He never cease to work in us, He kept mending and putting the pieces where it should be, even when we are not asking for it. This year I prayed for my father, I told God I don't know what should I do, but I want to be someone who lives with a healthy amount of father's love, I don't want to be a cyborg christian anymore, a walking shell that looked ok but so empty of love inside. Last month I got the chance to be welcomed warmly on a trip by my friend's father, where as usually when I saw affection by other father, I compared it with my own and got bitter, but that time there's something changed inside me, I didn't feel envious, instead I felt that their interactions showed me that God our Father is warm and affectionate. I gave thanks, even if I didn't get it from my own father but God enabled me to witness it. And tonight, I took photos of a girl's birthday party. Her dad surprised her with a serenade, and told the story on how he waited long to have her, and he treasured her forever for being his first born. I was deeply touched, but again, no envy, no self pity, only a small voice told me, God our Father is romantic, loves to give surprises, and treasures me more than anything. I felt so loved, and very grateful, I can't see Him, I don't know how He works, but through other fathers, He told me that I am not missing anything, He can put the pieces of my heart together, heal the wound, and even create new pieces unknown to me before. I wrote this on a print paper, it buckles but i kinda like the composition. These days my mom bombarded me with the info from her chat groups, they are panicking and worrying over the news of israel and UN, how they are trying to give back the land to the palestina. They are afraid of the upcoming war, of what becomes of christians if there's a moslem vs christian vs jews war. She kept talking about it almost like a paranoid, then out of annoyance I told her to stop preaching fear and worry. I asked her to read matthew 24 (amazing how a bible class in uni makes you remember stuff) and told her that Jesus, the apostles, all preached about the persecutions, the hardships, and they never once say be panic, be afraid and let your fear make your life decisions. Christianity survives better under turbulance than other prosperity, so I say friends even though there are a lot of people who makes rumors, who spread prophecies about the hard times, Jesus only wants us to be faithful, to keep doing what He wants us to to, nothing complicated, while you read the news, keep reading your bible too! I always struggle with fear of being compared, fear of people finding me unworthy of love. So I have hard time having a competition, accepting someone new as a comrade because I feared for no reason whatsoever that people will choose that other better person over me. It did happened in the past, it may happen in the future too, there's no way of preventing it, but now every time the anxiety attacks, every time I felt the pain of rejection and comparison, I know there is a hiding place in the arms of Him Who loves me.
