While the kids were busy painting and drawing, the parents were involved in an informative and interactive session with doctors on various health issues faced by children. The focus was on parenting and the emerging problem of obesity among kids which was addressed by Dr.Lalita Kanojia – consultant pediatrics, Dr.Vivek Gupta – consultant neonatologist and Dr.Priti Vijay – chief dietician. The team of consultants shared that the increasing habit of eating in front of the television and increased consumption of junk food are the main causes of Obesity among children. The lack of outdoor activities further adds to their uncontrolled weight. The team suggested a meal time where the entire family should sit together and use of gadgets be prohibited during these meals. Dr.Priti shared special tips with parents to motivate their kids to eat healthy. The fun and joy kept rolling the whole evening and the kids left with a message that a healthy and happy Kid always owns a sweet smile on the face.
