Origin Story: Sith Warrior

Combat Style/s: Juggernaut
Combat Role/s: DPS
Alignment: DS
Allegiance: Sith Empire
Title/Job:
Romantic Interest: [available, orientation: bifurious]
Information: Akise was born on Ziost to a wealthy family with minor political power. When it became apparent that she was not developing any Force talents as a child (her older brothers had both shown signs of strength in the Force early), her father encouraged her brothers to fight her in an attempt to shock her system into protecting itself and bringing about a Force breakthrough. These fights were emotionally draining on her oldest brother, Karuvis, who did not want to hurt her, but her brother Vurija relished them. The fights left her hard-of-hearing, scarred, and with one of her legs so badly damaged that it had to be amputated, but never brought about a Force breakthrough. She ran away from home before her father could have her killed to hide her failings, and worked with underground "doctors" and engineers to build improved prosthetics and cybernetics for herself to mimic the ways her brothers moved and fought, to make it appear that she could use the Force the way that they did.

A friend got me the Marka Ragnos armor set in exchange for giving them a shitload of high-level crafting materials I didn’t need (among other things; they also gave me some cartel market dyes and some sweet decos, including a Sith Emperor’s Throne), and Mahzarin likes the helmet because it makes her taller than @astrifer-bound ‘s Phaaze (just barely)
(also, @thatmmolesbian, I’ll make the joke so you don’t have to: you could say that, in this outfit, Mahzarin looks a little...horny)

Will you ever tell the story of Akise and the bounty hunter?
That would require me to actually write the story of Akise/Mahzarin and the bounty hunter...
I have the vaguest of outlines plotted, with the bounty getting posted and Moxie taking the contract, Moxie tracking Mahzarin to a relatively backwater and skeevy area and then watching her for a day or so, including getting herself into a fight with some goons, and realizing that Mahzarin isn’t using the Force, recognizing a lot of the same types of tech that she uses in her own combat gear—hidden well from someone who isn’t tech-minded but there. She amuses herself by debating if Mahzarin is a Sith who actually respects non-Force-users enough to enhance her abilities with technology, or if she can’t actually use Force and is faking it, and decides this target will be a fun one to banter with before taking in or taking down. An extremely homoerotic fight scene ensues. It starts as a bare-knuckle brawl because they both claim they’re “honorable” and can give each other a fair fight, but after Moxie headbutts her and starts handing her ass to her, Mahzarin fights dirty. There’s biting. I eventually forgot where I was going.
Basically Mahzarin just needed someone to pull her hair and call her pretty and figure out what she was and put the math together on her bounty and decide that the target was better than the money being offered (even if “better” is extremely relative here and even if Mahzarin has to be dragged kicking and screaming into any sort of supportive relationship). I’m still working on them, and it complicates things that Mahzarin also develops misguided crushes on everyone else’s ocs, the latest being @astrifer-bound ‘s Phaaze because have you SEEN that beefcake? Mahzarin has been his main wingman in-game but I want my tiny angerball to be with him and learn what love is?

I’ve been playing Mahzarin with all of her abilities instead of just with the ones that I can explain her actually being able to use as someone who is Force-blind, and?? vengeance juggernaut my beloved???

I forgot about this fucking scene, why do warriors forget how to put their goddamn lightsabers away in this scene and just swing it around and put it though their own stupid throats while talking about how they might just die of boredom sjkshfasdfaskdlf

Mahzarin and DS!Jaesa have been having some of the weirdest interactions so far. DS!Jaesa is such an edgelord (I’ve always described her as Manic Pixie Serial Killer, before having had a playthrough with her, and it still stands so far). It’s odd trying to navigate how Mahzarin would handle the conversations with Jaesa, since in my canon, she mostly does her best to just not talk to Jaesa at all. This has led to some very interesting conversations that I can stretch to interpret as Mahzarin and Jaesa talking about Mena and have myself a good chuckle.
But here she is basically telling Jaesa to please just bone Mena already for the sake of the rest of the crew:
Here’s Mahzarin explaining why she doesn’t trust Jaesa’s power:
(Vette, distantly: the girls are fighting!)
(this would honestly fit really well into my (electric feel) series in terms of Being Mean To Jaesa because I’m just Like That, and she might be desperate enough to try to go to Mahzarin for advice, even if in this actual conversation, she’s asking for permission to go Do Some More Murder)
Mahzarin’s advice: Well, if you’re not gonna nut up and ask Mena out, and you’re content to just sit back and watch her keep fucking Quinn, I guess just wallow in your angst and see if it makes you fight better?

Because my response was gonna take more than allowed for one reply, I figured why not just make a post (especially since I’m in a Mahzarin mood, and there might be more of you than just @swtorpadawan curious about how things work with my little liar now that I‘ve spam-posted about her).
The basic background is that Mahzarin is not Force-sensitive, but has learned how to fake it extremely well through a combination of cybernetic enhancements and dedicated combat study (and some hand-waving on my part for some details I haven’t quite hammered out yet).
She is a Vengeance Juggernaut, but I play her as close to how I have her in my head as possible. She can’t use any true Force abilities, so no Choke, no Chilling Scream/Force Scream, no Shatter (imbue lightsaber with the power of the Force for extra stabbity, as much as I love that move and the giggle that comes with it). Any moves that technically use the Force, but I feel could be explained by her cybernetics or her engineering skill (Smash, the various lightsaber throws, Force Charge, etc.) get to stay.
(I just don’t even have the abilities I don’t think she would realistically have on a quick bar for her, so when I play her, they don’t happen. Or, for the ones I really like but don’t think she would have, they’re on a secondary bar but not a hot key so I have to really think about it before using it. Mahzarin will probably never do group content, because telling a group my Jugg can’t interrupt or Push or do some of her better moves for Reasons™️ might not go over well.)
She has gauntlets that interface with all of her various other tech to control the boosters in her boots for her fake Force Charge/Smash, control her lightsaber throws, and enhance her strength, but most people just think they’re decorative armor because Sith are Extra Like That.
Because the wording of that last question...tripped me up for a moment: don’t know if you’ve noticed Mahzarin’s scars or not, but she is not personally into being choked, by the Force or otherwise. I assume you’re asking how she chokes others? If someone really deserved it, she would choke them to death with her bare hands, knowing that she would be called uncouth and worse for getting her hands dirty that way (and risk exposing herself for it), but it would be a very last resort. But even being on the giving end of a choke rather than the receiving end would probably not end well for her anxiety.

Interestingly, Mahzarin got two letters from Jaesa that neither version of Mena got. I’m pretty sure that Mahzarin made the same choices on the decisions that I thought impacted Jaesa stuff. Mahzarin is overall darker than Mena, and cares a lot less about what she does to other people, but she eventually starts working for Mena, so I’m trying to have her follow relatively closely to Mena’s decisions in some ways. She spared Yonlach, Ulldin, and Jaesa’s parents, though she was probably a little bitchier about it all than Mena was. I’m sad that neither version of Mena got these letters from Jaesa, even though both Menas and Mahzarin all fought/killed Zylixx and spared Ulldin. Is the difference that Mahzarin told Ulldin that he would be a message to Nomen Karr and his padawan or whatever the choice was? I can’t remember the exact options, but Mena said something different to him there.

Who wore it better? (”it” being the Wicked Huntress or “Steal Vaylin’s Look” armor set with the Glorious Charnel mask). That’s Khynan on the left under the gold mask and Mahzarin on the right under the charcoal mask.
