kuro antis who love grelle either know fiction does not affect reality or they believe the people they consider immoral deserve abuse

let me elaborate...

one thing i will never understand is how many grelle fans (even madam red fans) in the kuro fandom are brutal antis / jokingly "sebastian haters" / "s3baci3l DNI or i will kill you" like it's so bizarre to me...

we watch sebastian get molested by madam red and constantly sexually harassed by grelle but it's fiction so like it doesn't matter... but they're antis. so why does it not matter to them? like i support women's rights and wrongs but come on

it's the whole "yana is amending her trans character since she's poorly written" and yet it's not like she's been completely retconned. she's still a "problematic" (loosely- same way antis use it) character.

it implies 2 things:

one, hypocrisy and how the 'holier than thou' disgusting proshitters dni rhetoric is actually bullshit because in the end, your pfps/fav character is a character who sexually assaults others

two, surely you understand that fiction ≠ reality because the sexual harassment sebastian receives from grelle isn't real and therefore it's okay to like grelle as a character because grelle is not a real person who perpetrates sexual harassment.

but those who say fiction = reality and still claim grelle as their fav are the most bizarre in my opinion. because that implies something. her actions are justified because they're against sebastian. surely the words baron kelvin said to o!ciel are clearly disturbing and uncomfortable. he's not a pretty female character like grelle but i would reckon if a female character behaved like he did, the kuro antis would hate them, just like many of them hate the viscount. but her and madam red's sexual advances towards sebastian are somehow okay, somehow comedic, while the sex jokes in the green witch arc between loli sieglinde & shota ciel is somehow far worse, despite also being painted as comedic (and also coming from a place of misunderstanding not genuine malicious desire)

because mentally they have convinced themselves that if it's a "bad" or "trash" character getting abused then it's okay. and if these people think fiction = reality, what does this say about their irl views? do they know any "sebastian"s in real life? people who they consider worthy of being sexually harassed? people whose boundaries are okay to cross because they're "bad", "immoral", "subhuman"?

i just think it's a bit uncomfortable to think these people claim to hate "predators" (because 'fiction affects reality') but the way they consume kuro is "omg love grelle, she's my absolutely fav ❤️❤️" as if she isn't a 'problematic' character... unless they truly think she isn't and her actions are justified if it was irl, since they think fiction is real. now that's where it gets scary.

this isn't to say i hate grelle or madam red or any of the characters or that yana was wrong for writing sexual harassment but genuinely... how can you say "fiction affects reality" and in the same breath have your fav be a serial sexual harasser ?? she's a legendary character but like antis have co-opted her into a cinnamon roll morally good girl as if she's not a badass unhinged morally gray woman

uhh don't go interact with any kuro fandom antis over this, this is just an opinion of mine and it's kinda been in the back of my brain for a while because these people are NOT consistent w their views at all

so this post caught my eye because it was so sweet and passionate and i was gonna comment something nice

so @thefriccword, here's a fun fact, ciel is not actually 13, in some parts of the manga he is younger! his age changes depending on what chapter you're on, whether you're in a flashback sequence or not.

this is because he is not real, he is a bunch of lines. a real 13 year old does not have blue hair or a purple eye marked with a pentagram-esque sign indicating his contract with a demon. actually 13 year olds don't make contracts with demons either. because demons are not real.

and as for telling people, my best friend knows (i have known her since 2017, nothing gets past her), my coworkers have asked me what im doing during my lunch breaks and i have mentioned my fandom (kuro) and they all knew it as the manga with the boy and his butler and i said, "yeah it's a gothic romance." and they all just seemed to know about sebaciel and didn't give two shits, my favourite proof however is my mother. she is also a sebaciel shipper. that's right, my mother who is an older woman (no offense to her, she is so sweet) and who is married to a guy years 9 older than her ships sebastian and ciel (small note, my parents married out of love, she married when she was 25 and my dad 34). i say this because while many people project onto the character of ciel due to being victims of csa, ptsd etc, she doesn't, despite having the same ailment of asthma. she lived a relatively normal life (as normal as you could in a religious theocracy). she just thinks they're cute, her trauma is not personal to her shipping of sebaciel. you know because she knows they're not real.

people are valid to ship whatever they want for whatever reason they want. some do it out of trauma, some just think it's cute, some like me just think the story has no substance without sebaciel's dynamic.

you're so privileged that you can see ciel as being real. try living in a country controlled by a dictatorship like my mother did, where a long time ago, films were free to show anything, then suddenly, some religious zealots come along and go on a puritanical artistic genocide, purging all the "problematic" media and saying it affects reality... they "purify" and control what people can or can't create or enjoy.

the media in my parents' country shows women always wearing hijabs even in the shower or bedroom (women's hair is banned on tv) but go out on the streets, barely a single hijab in sight. there is no queer people in my country's films anymore but queer people in my country still exist, even drag queens who have to bypass internet restrictions to even see the smallest amount of info about drag (since the internet is controlled by puritan assholes too). if fiction was to affect reality, why is purity culture and modesty not normalised? why did queer people still exist without representation?

We have seen Ciel's Kind side as well...Ciel and Sebastian both knows when and to whom to be 'cunning' or 'Kind'...Both Sebastian and Ciel are Extremely Extremely cunning and will and does 'BEND' the rules of the game at their own advantage through their extremely calculated and refined dirty tricks and schemes ....Playing fair is not their 'concern' ... but 'winning' is ....if Ciel is the 'King' in the Chessplayer, Sebastian is the Ultimate Cheat code and Chessboard in the game ....and pawns are the other characters ....Sebastian can't be the pawn ...Sebastian simply sets up the helpful environment for Ciel to win...Sebastian simply assists Ciel in his own game ....

I dont think you're being fair at all to that post about dancing - people can like Sebastian and Ciel's dynamic without shipping them. There's many facets to their canonically platonic relationship that people find compelling. It's fine that you ship them, but it's unreasonable to expect everyone to.

i don't expect everyone else to ship them. did i say that? show me where i said that. you can't? of course you can't because i didn't say that.

your comprehension levels might be weak but that's okay, you probably wrote this ask in bad faith so you didn't bother actually reading my post but i'll give you a real answer even though i know this type of ask is usually bait.

it's the phrasing and the vitriol of that post's banner i have a problem with. the post is sebaciel adjacent and very lovely and describes their relationship in a tender way (nonromantic/nonsexual) but the person posting it has chosen to put an extremely insulting banner on their post negating all the intrigue of their post

but what i say is "not fair"? im not "unreasonable" i just don't like this chauvinistic "my interpretation is so deep, i understand their relationship better than those DISGUSTING PERVERTS!"

so i saw this post and got kinda sad

im a critic of the concept of dadbastian, i have made multiple posts criticising it as i think it often leads to the character annihilation of sebastian (and i do this without tagging dadbastian or mentioning any names, obviously). but making a mockery or giving unsolicited criticism of dadbastian towards the people who enjoy it is genuinely not the right thing to do.

it isn't helpful or necessary and i would like sebaciel nation to not do things like this, especially towards people like @krshitsuji who aren't aggressively telling shippers to die or hating on the ship. even then, the best thing we can do is block and move on.

some people just don't want to ship something and that's okay, that's the beauty of interpretation, we can all interpret things differently.

let's pride ourselves on remaining civil in the face of adversity, being able to communicate tactfully and without hurting others, and most of all, being kind and respectful because i know many of us haven't had that treatment in recent years as being in the kuro fandom as a shipper is... an experience to say the least. please let's be civil and respect everyone's boundaries.
