Ealdeen’s misery chapter 2 sneak peek

Their eyes snapped open.

The forest around them had disappeared, replaced by a dark ceiling with wooden beams and shadows dancing in the room. They had no memories of sneaking into a bed in a tavern, or someone else’s. Ealdeen only remembered the whistle of the wind through the leaves, the hard wood against their back, and Dalael’s teeth in the flesh of their neck.

With a groan, Ealdeen turned their head. A small smile stretched their lips as they noticed Syldan sleeping on a chair, his white hair covering his face. He hadn’t changed a single bit since the last time they saw him, half a year ago. They had left his shop with a promise of coming back for a visit as soon as they could, their bag full of potions and charms Syldan had spent hours making especially for them. But the more contracts they accepted, the further they took him from Ashborne and their friend.

Syldan being at their bedside could only mean they were back in Ashborne. But how? The village threatened by the ogres was miles away from here.

Ealdeen tried to sit up but their body didn’t move an inch. It was only when they looked back at the ceiling that they noticed the scent of herbs and other medicinal plants surrounding them. Syldan’s work.

3 - Y’Allwhyn

Y’Allwhyn also holds claim to being the oldest city in Azjurah, it is the capital of the old Elven nation. It is a beautiful city constructed using strange crystalline materials rumoured to be Fey in nature. Based at the northern edge of the Peridot Labyrinth jungle it has a primarily Elven population. Though all other races are welcome most find it difficult to make Y’Allwhyn their home due to its somewhat alien nature.   Y’Allwhyn holds dominion over the lands immediately north of the Peridot Labyrinth.   It is governed by a gerontocratic council of elders.   Y’Allwhyn has a seat on the Telluric council. It’s council member is Vadania Siankiir, an elder and devout cleric of Syldan. She was selected for her wisdom and keenness to maintain balance with nature through these industrious times.   Y’Allwhyn is home to the Writhing Athenaeum, a library of licensed and maintained teleportation circles.

I have a whole timeline of like… post-campaign story stuff for Syldan and Seren at this point lol. So you’ll probably keep seeing various bits out of order that I really want to draw 😅

I haven’t drawn Syldan with her wings before, so I wanted to. She doesn’t use them often, but I think it’s neat that her sorcerer bloodline has that ability ✨

Seren doesn’t really feel cold weather anymore cause of their sorcerer bloodline, but Syldan definitely prefers warmer places lol ❄️
