MARCH ART MADNESS ROUND 4 RESULTS

THANKS TO CHAMELEON ART PRODUCTS FOR THEIR SUPPORT OF THIS YEAR’S MARCH ART MADNESS! NEED ART SUPPLIES — GO CHECK OUR THEIR HIGH-END, DURABLE MARKERS, PENS, AND COLOR TOPS!

WE BEGAN WITH 64 ARTISTS (BROKEN INTO TEAMS OF FOUR) GOING MANO-A-MANO OVER 5 WEEKS OF ART BATTLES WITH CHANGING THEMES SHOULD THEY SURVIVE EACH SINGLE ELIMINATION BOUT.

MARCH ART MADNESS 2019 ROUND 4 WAS ONE OF THE MOST DIFFICULT ROUNDS YET! These ELITE 8 artists were some of the best of the WHOLE TOURNAMENT yet they also had one of the TOUGHEST THEMES: COMIC PAGES.

PAGE LAYOUTS, SPEECH BUBBLES, PERSPECTIVE, and STORYTELLING were the elements that defined how STRONG EACH ENTRY WOULD BE REGARDED by our JUDGES. As it stood, all artists attempted to produce effective comic pages with only @georgeobrooks choosing to represent the work in black and white sans speech bubbles. Bonus points were awarded to artists for getting their work in early and all but @jtlucas, @adrianartxv, @georgeobrooks and @impy0J failed to get these points (although only @impy0j didn’t get docked points for late entry either). These points were important but not critical as the popular vote and the vote from judges were relatively similar.

@Celestial_Pulse and @jasonas263 were exceedingly popular in each match up (which was the difference for @szionartz who had been a favorite). For the close matches — essentially it came down to clearly rendered comic pages with strong panel work and interiors as well as speech bubbles. One wonders for artists who had been competitive if things would have been different had the activated a RANKING POWER?

It now ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS! Round 5 - the FINAL CHALLENGE aka THE FINAL FOUR.

Here is the final! I took artistic liberty and went with a surrealism route. Since the character, Kalie was kidnapped as a child since then he found comfort in listening to falling rain. I wanted to emphasis his state of mind in his comfort zone also add an emotional and spiritual mood to it since he activates his power with his emotions of anger. I was really rushed this week but I made the deadline. Yush!! So I turned in a version that's a bit rough you'll see it when you swipe then there's the final clean up at the end. 😂 A little sad I didn't get the official final in but the semi final one will have to do. Hey guys! Thank you for sticking with me. Today is my birthday and I finally made it to 25 years of good life.❤ Sorry for the lack of post I was actually working on a project which was scheduled for today but it got derailed by some sudden events. It's personal I can't really talk about it. I will be posting again so keep an eye out.
