Fuck you and all your little brain washed rats sending people hate because you cant take responsibility for your actions!! But go on stay silent like you always do, pretend its nothing of your business, keep being a fetishizing racist delulu like you love to be while pretending to be the best blog on tumblr!!!
NOT like anyone will see this but YOU will so LET’S GOOO!!!~~
TW: mental health and more (if you feel like this can trigger you, pls don’t read this, breathe in and out and listen to this HERE and remember I love you), loads of tea and Mimi NOT being a friendly and kind ghost.
funny enough:
I never pretended of said I was the best blog. But I guess the fact that you say it might be because you heard it frequently? Thanks for thinking so^^
I sent hate to no one and u r the one sending it to me rn ^^ In my whole 4 year journey on Tumblr I received a lot of love but also worse hate that you can imagine. Yes you are saying now you are receiving hate ... funny how it’s bad when It’s addressed to you but when it’s at me and my dear followers it is not. Still, I never told anyone to go hate on you. You were the idiot that tagged my old blog and as soon as my blog was gone pple searched me and found out you were the reason behind this. But as you keep hating on me. Let me tell you I am kind but don’t mistake that for me being a coward.
I am not into insulting others and I don’t care much if you insult me. BUT don’t YOU DARE touch my dear followers. Insulting ain’t hard. Let me try: The only rat here is you hiding in your hole as an anon. I went and compared your writing with this ask and previous hate asks. And it was you~ Good for you~ the sewers smell just like your filthy mouth spilling sh*t left and right. So on brand. However, I know who you are @hobisbeautifulass Hi ^^
Me racist? HAHAHAHAH you truly know NOTHING about me nor my ex-blog’s message. It was a place when you were welcomed no matter your skin color, religion, gender ... proof? well it got deleted thanks to you. but ask around this time and search for who reblogged my posts as they were always the top of the tags (even if I don’t trust how bad you are at research). I supported the BLM movement and still do and will always do but I did so veeery early without anyone telling me. Not for the notes but because of my humanity. I wished my dear followers’ happy holidays no matter their religions. And never cared about those things. Why judge someone on something based on religion or how they were born. As for the LGBTQ+ community, I was always and will always be there for love being love. I talked about mental health and opened venting nights. I helped left and right and when I was receiving hate because of people like you spitting lies about me. What did I do? Did I go online and called people bad? No. I looked back at myself and asked myself if I did anything wrong. I tried to educate myself and apologized sincerely when I had to. I read books and watched documentaries to learn how to become a better human. AND never repeated a mistake twice. You tend to forget that our cultures are different and sometimes you grow up to see some things as normal when they are not. This is not an excuse tho, so I always believed that I was lacking and if someone had something to say against me, there is a chance they are right and just in case I should reflect on myself. But for your case it was pure nonsense. ME? a stalker? how can I stalk when I have social anxiety and at that time couldn’t even leave my room? I am even afraid of taking public transportations and just the other days I was crying from joy when I took a taxi alone. they said I was in Japan stalking Jimin and Jungkook and took a pic when I was NEVER EVER was on that land. You put me on the same list as people who bought info about BTS’ flights to be on the same plane as them? I was stalked before and let me tell you it ain’t cute and fun. I am even scared of the idea of being followed. that’s why I never shared openly my age, country, or anything about me on my blog. that’s why I have no personal social media to this day and that’s why making my ex-blog was some sort of miracle in my life.
Silent? yes I was silent when I received hate and didn’t even vent to my dear followers or pointed fingers. Why? because I thought as my day was hell I shouldn’t make anyone’s day worse. I was worried about my dear followers with mental illnesses being triggered. I tried to take my life so many times I lost count but I still came here and smiled. It was my safe place and you took it away. Yet, I should pity you? You hated on me first for no reason and you know it deep inside but right now you are trying to convince yourself that you are the angel and feel no guilt. Compared to you. I pointed fingers at no one and didn’t name you when my blog was gone. Why? because compared to you, I thought you will not be able to manage the hate and what was done .. I didn’t want you to suffer the same way I did when you are the one who made me suffer the most the past couple of days. But the kind Mimi is someone you will never remember because you dared touch the friends I love and calling them names. I don’t mind people insulting me but don’t you dare touch my people. I know myself best. My dear friends/followers know me best. I thought ... I could leave without this mess but you keep barking in my ask box and it’s annoying. I left this backup account just to talk to my friends and yet you are here to ruin things again? I should stop being kind to the ones who deserve non of it. I ignored you when I had so many followers and you went silent too because you were scared of me. But as soon as I lost my blog because of you, you went, edited and then reblogged that stalker post. How can I be a stalker? do you even know the definition of a stalker? do you even know shame? well .. I don’t think so.. you said it yourself. You are NOT ashamed (and you reblogged that so many time lol).
Death threats? this is no competition but thanks to people like you I have been there and wish no one to be there not even you. The only difference is that you almost killed me for real. You were not the sole reason? Great job walking away from you beloved word: RESPONSIBILITY. And I didn’t get just anon hate, I got literal tagging by people like you, DMs, and people pointing guns at me. That’s why I didn’t mention you. I was worried about the one who took away what I worked for for 4 YEARS. I was more sad and concerned about the ARMY fandom here. Do you know how many rely on my updates? do you know how many people said I helped them? do you know any of that? do you think 200k people were “rats”? Do you think if I did and say wrong thing I will not be questioned by those people. I always told my dear followers: “friends, if I do or say anything wrong or share anything that hurts anyone please tell me. I am willing to learn from everyone.” But what did you know? what did you do? Well .. guess you love notes? As the most notes you ever got and the most attention was when talking about me?
Love how you talk about fetishing when my blog was what people call “family friendly”. I also like BTS. I love them for their music, talent, personalities and the happiness they give me. I also enjoy BTS’ bond and love their interactions. I posted content of all kinds of interactions JM X JK, JK X V, V X JIN, JIN X SG, SG X JH, JH X RM, RM X JM ... If you are calling this fetishing asian men just because I scream over BTS as a fan and love their bonb. Then aren’t you against the idea of being an ARMY? I was a clear OT7 and you were told that you weren’t right:
Then you answered this without even explaining the nonsense about me:
idk .. I am trying to find sense in your nonsense so .. wait wait let me look at the definition of fetishism first.
Fetishism /ˈfɛtɪʃɪz(ə)m/ noun: a form of sexual behavior in which gratification is linked to an abnormal degree to a particular object, activity, part of the body, etc.
Then .. judging from your URL alone hmmm ... cute. I won’t even talk about the SMUT you write that is full of kinks and fetishism. Well I have no problem with fan fiction but the irony you spit is out of this world.
Also, I made money out of mimibtsghost? HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH no lil one. I worked day and night for FREE. At some point when BT21 just came out and there were no products on AMAZON or anywhere but S.Korea, someone reached out to me to offer 20% off or something for my dear followers. When they asked what I wanted I said what about international giveaways for my dear followers. Basically, made gifs, found content, updates, analysis, edits, and so on for free. Again, w-wait .. Aren’t you the one asking for commissions? Well .. It’s not wrong. But again THE irony.
So, I went to see that post you made about me with “PROOF” and it was just another person who was salty as I got them blocked I can’t even recall who they were but oh well. Their arguments according to YOU and many should be taken as FACTS just because they said them? You said HERE that your first comeback was MOST:7 that came in just last year (2020) SO what the hell do YOU know about what happened years before you came when all the proof you pointed at where baseless without any backing?
Let’s see this so wise person you used to delete my blog and what I have done ^^
The gifs: There is a story to this. The first week I came to Tumblr, It was my first time on this site and the first time I share anything. I shared some content and my analysis had a lot of notes for a small creator that started just a week ago. But I made a mistake, I found a gif and posted it while crediting the gif maker. At the time I had NO idea it was wrong. I logged off and after 5 hours I log in and there was a WAR for that ONE gif. The big blog had me blocked and her friend was telling me to take it off. As soon as the person told me I did IMMEDIATELY and apologized againa and again and told them to tell the original gif maker to deblock me as I want to apologize directly and that they can block me after that. They did and I apologized but they just kept insulting me. Of course it was MY mistake and that’s why I apologized. But for them. for a mere gif (yes I say a mere gif because I made so many gifs and they were used on all platforms but I never thought it was necessary to hate that much on someone like they did to me). That blog was big and had big blog mutuals. Thanks to that, I became someone you do NOT become mutuals with but block and never reblog content from. Without any big mutuals. Without any shoutouts. Only my love for BTS, my dear followers’ support and my hard work.. My blog, became bigger and FAST (I got 10k in less than 6 months after I started) and that brought loads of jealousy and thus more rumors. Even if, I apologized and since then made my own gifs. And I made SO many gifsets that I can’t remember how many there were. What I can recall is at some point I made them daily and many times a day.
Ships Jikook? I posted content of ALL the members interactions. I was here at a time where Jikook stans and Taekook stans where always fighting. BUT I posted about both and even made so many posts to encourage loving all the members and all the interactions. I also used the tags solely used for shipping with other big tags to show that BTS’ interactions are all important and their bond is beutiful. That our fandom shouldn’t hate on a member just because they are not part of a ship we like. And wait .. even if I shipped Jikook? I got called ALL those names by someone who ship the members with readers and write sexual scenes? Like, wait ... I am truly confused. Like, write fanfic and do all you want as long as you hurt no one I guess but why am I getting hurt for doing non of it? Like according to you, the person you should be cancelling is yourself?! I am also not into cancel culture like you so hahah whatever.
Posted stalker pics: well wow the story changes each time. Next thing you will hear that I was the one holding a camera for a member in a Vlive lol. Let me teach you about this update thing I was doing. I follow accounts I trust and that’s how we get info circulating fast. I always do reasearch but sometimes mistakes are made. For example when lately people shared pictures of BTS leaving their virtual concerts and schedules. There was a watermark of a news outlet. Normally we trust those but only later we realized that those people stalked BTS. You clearly can’t know it all. But I still didn’t share many pics related to many events (I will not name those as pple can search them even now because some pple never deleted those). And all big accounts shared many pics then deleted later. This happens all the time but it happened like ONCE for me. However, I am called a stalker for that?
When Jonghyun passed away ... I don’t even wanna recall that night as the memories just ... when that happened I posted about it and send my condolescences. that post had over 10k notes and was at the top the tag. Why did I do that? I was devastated. Yes, many were but I will talk about me rn: I was suicidal the days before that and one of the songs that I listened to when I was broken where by him. I has been in the kpop world since 2006. And learned about his group since their debut with ‘Replay’. I was never a stan but I still knew of many groups and listened to all the songs I liked. I was very sad when he was gone and ANGRY mostly. Why is this angel leaving? Why is someone like me still here? Why did I not leave instead of him? How much did he suffer? And in the midst I posted a post from twitter that stated how agencies usually put down pple with mental illiness and hide it in the industry. Yes, that was important but NOT at that time. I shouldn’t have posted that and I realized after 5 min of doing so that it was WRONG. So I deleted it FAST but it kept being reblogged and I kept getting hate and people telling me: “Go kill yourself”... the sad part is that I almost did as my answer was “true ... why am I still here?” I apologized and logged off then to this day won’t forget crying at 3 AM while walking outside next to my dad. I was outside as I couldn’t breathe anymore and the idea of seeing the walls of my room was hell. I cried and cried and the teary eyes that my father looked at me with are something I am ashamed of to this day. To add one more thing while I am spilling the beans. I hate learning about someone dying. My grandma passed away sometime before that and it was so shocking to me. and some people came and told me when I was mourning her: Go follow that bitch of grandmother of yours. And for what? At that moment I didn’t think I would live to see the next year but I went to therapy and took medecine that was hurting and made me shake all day just to turn somewhat sane. No one knew tho ... I smiled all day and cried all night.. Even on the blog I fought no one of the ones who hated me. I just blocked them but even that was an insult to them?
Again, you said no one should defend me. Yet, you were ready to fight whoever touched anyone around you. What about changing your URL to beautifulassirony
Also THE hypocrisy. If you are sorry then why are you answering an ask of someone isulting someone you want to apologize to? Just make a post wher you apologize or ignore it from the start?
One more thing but surely not the last. You said you were good with research which you are NOT. So, let me show you what an OG detective ARMY can do. But first, as I was scrolling I saw some of your “work” (let’s not even talk about those gifs) and I am just giving my point of view here: I hate how you painted Namjoon as this horny-idiotic-make-dog. Like I get it it’s a fanfic or Namjoon as a dad but ... Namjoon is such a smart man who is very respectful and ofc he is a human with needs like many but what the hell is this way of portraying a character? Also a character is not cool, amazing, and a strong woman just because they curse and belittle their partner.
Oh well, only you kept reblogging that as it show 36 reblogs when only 33 as still there when I looked and out of those 13 reblogs are yours? (you might have reblogged it more) but again some people might have liked ... people have different taste ... so ... whatever.
Let’s continue, shall we ^^. You said you were the victim here when I was the one getting robbed right? How can I believe someone who reblogged the post below and was proud calling themselves an abomination or how the Oxford dictionary defines it: a thing that causes disgust or loathing. For once you weren’t wrong.
What can you expect from someone who has the “I am not like others” kinda mentality while stating relatable things that everyone goes through?
This is getting pretty long. So to sum this up. You are now telling others that hate is NOt ok and that they should be ashamed of themselves when you yourself is not ashamed of hating on me?
I am not the type that sends anon hate. I might ignore some barking but the past days you came and bite me hard. I face the ones I have to face without fear. I know I am not the bad guy here and I don’t care much what you think about me. Even BTS got haters. This says a lot. BUT do NOT dare talk badely of my dear friends/followers. You said you do research well? Start by deleting the post below that was originally by ME from your blog ... oh how meticulous you are. From your baseless receipts to your twisted logic. Indeed people on the internet can say anything and it will be FACTS. You painted me as the devil and painted yourself as this researcher? What’s next you receiving a Phd in ‘pity me’ after your MBA in lies and irony? Whatever~
Whaaatever~ Karma will have upcoming talks with you. No need for you to apologize. I never cared about you and you only got attention using me. But I am not here anymore how will you get that blog running now? Are you gonna add me in a fanfic next? No need for you to send me my appearance fee when you do so~ And no need for you to apologize to me just apologize to you conscience if you have any left. As for me @hobisbeautifulass you are just someone I will forget soon anyway~~
And because according to what you said HERE when you described the things you hate about people and I thought that was VERY close to how you treated me. Thus, you might really not stand yourself rn.
Do.Not.Worry. BTS are starting the Love Myself campaign again and just in time for you to jump in (you are good at jumping to conclusions about me so I won’t worry about you). I know you don’t like me or my friends but be sure to love yourself at least ^^
You are a Hobi stan? Then learn from Hobi to share some sunshine not bring the storm. Have a good day~

Blog organization: A guide
Mama bird here, gonna give ya a rundown on how to make ur bloggos 👍👍 so y’all can gain more traffic and love for all ya lovely blogs and mons.
Been doing this pokemon blogging business for 4 years, been here and back, so lemme give ya the 411 on how to make them blogs sparkle n shine
Pokeask/daily blogs should be focused on exactly that: interactions and the such. OOC should be limited to munday memes and the such. I know some folks prefer to keep ooc meme prompts to weekends and munday, I’m more neutral on that. Do what you like, just tag it accordingly so people can blacklist if they don’t want to see meme content. Use a meme tag. I myself have a personal tumblr where I reblog all sorts of stuff, cuz tbh when I look at a blog I want to see stuff relating to the theme of the blog, not random ooc reblogs (been seeing a blog reblogging animals relating to their muse under a specific tag, I’d say that’s perf fine since it’s related, and there’s a tag that can be blacklisted if folks don’t wanna see it!).
But Yonder I want to talk to other people and jab about the stuff I like! How do I talk to others if I’m gonna clog up daily/ask content here? Fam I feel you. I talk bout myself all the time lmao. On my twitter, and in discord chats! Got twitter a year ago, It’s a perfect platform to get to know others better, and you can do memes there too! Nowadays when people talk to me via IM I redirect them to my twitter cuz it’s just easier for me. The formatting of twitter just makes it easier to start convos b/c everyone’s pretty much constantly making new convo starters you can respond to whenever. This is more of a personal note but I don’t really show my personality much here on my blogs so by looking through my twitter peeps’ll be able to better judge if we’ll get along!
Speaking of tagging: Abuse the tagging system! Got an ooc post? Tag it ooc! Got an art post? Use an art tag (you don’t have to, that’s getting fairly specific, but I do)! For example: I use the tag #out of park for my ooc posts. And specific mons are tagged as is too! So if someone wants to dig up a specific response they can via a species tag like #pangoro or w/e.
As a side note when people search up tags on tumblr, only the first 5 tags of any given post are put into those tumblr searches. If you want people to find your art tagged under #pkmnart or w/e, be sure it’s one of the first 5 tags in your post! This’ll make sure your content will be seen by more people who otherwise wouldn’t have seen it.
Have all info on a muse easily accessible (aka, a ref)! If I can’t find it within 5 clicks or so (this is relating to user interfaces in general on the web), I’m probably not gonna bother to dig around for it. Got other things to do fam, job, college, commissions, adult life n all that jazz. And we all know social media gives us terribly short attention spans lmao.
Clean up outdated material. Done with that meme you did a few days ago? Delete the prompt so it’s not cluttering your content. If you really wanna save those meme responses, make them into a private post, or compile them all in a draft and delete the original posts. It breaks my heart when I see a lovely blog, but I gotta dig through 10 meme prompts to see any actual content. I usually don’t follow a blog back if I see that.
This is a huge pet peeve of mine but Trim Ya Posts!! See this?
I’ll instantly unfollow if I see this. If you’re going to reblog something like this please, I implore you to 1) use ya personal blog homie, this really shouldn’t be on an ask/daily blog. 2) tag as #long post so that blacklist extension can do it’s magic. This extends to untrimmed rps. Xkit has extensions that allow for deleting the older replies in threads, so when you reblog something your followers aren’t seeing the same starter post for the 20th time.
What if I can’t get Xkit? Well, usually in that case the best alternative is to draw/make the reply and put a [previous post] link either above or below your reply! Trust me, your followers will thank you for it.
Some other tips:
Don’t use super bright colors for blog headers and themes. If them colors make my eyes hurt I’m avoiding it like the plague. https://coolors.co/ is a great color palette generating site! How we perceive color varies from person to person but generally super saturated colors should be avoided for blog headers.
Don’t reblog 4 memes at once. It’s a bit much, at least to me;;
If someone’s taking requests and is asking for a reblogged ref, reply to the original post instead of making a giant thread of ref pics
People might be tearing into each other for w/e reason on your dash but honestly even if the people involved made it public don’t get mixed into it if it doesn’t involve you. Be mature and know when to mind your own business.
Adding to this: talk about issues privately. Not everyone needs to know your beef with so-and-so unless they’re a threat to minors or they’re doing something undeniably nasty, ect.
Don’t gossip. Dude. You may not think so but we can tell who you’re vauging about. Just. Stop. Vent to a friend in private or something.
Dumb anon bugging you? Just. Block em hun. Take a breather, they have no power over you. Just reply with ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and move on.
Communicate. If something someone does bugs you, talk to them privately. Vauging and gossiping does nothing to solve the problem except make it incredibly hard to discern what’s truth and what’s not in a situation.
Don’t force a friendship by saying “can we be friends?” It makes things incredibly awkward. You don’t become a friend with someone via request. The best friends I’ve made on here? I don’t even remember when or how we started talking, it just happened naturally.
Generally, peeps have an internet alias that isn’t their muse’s name. For example, my name is not Grovyle. My name is Yonder, and I don’t wish to be addressed as Grovyle as she is one of many fictional fabrications I have. She’s not my identity, not by a long-shot. I’ll only resort to using the muse/url I know them by to address someone if I literally have no other way to distinguish them in a chat.
Oneliners and incoherent sentence structure (not on part of the muse’s personalty but rather the person’s writing) on a regular basis in a response tend to make it very hard for people to reply or maintain interest. Though generally this applies more to text-based blogs where text is what people are coming to the blog for.
Ur all wonderful n I know many of you are new to this and I want you all to enjoy blogging and avoid the mistakes I made when I was a wee blogger back in 2013. Feel free to ask for clarification, I write this in an attempt to help things be more streamlined and easier for everyone in this community! And of course, I’m sure plenty of this is subjective on my part.
Love y’all!

If you’ve been wondering how to start a blog…
Or putting it off because you’re afraid you’ll mess it up.
Well – today’s the day!
You’re FINALLY going to cross “create a blog” off your to-do list. And it’s going to be way easier than you expected. Even if you’re not good with computers.
In this beginner’s guide, I’m going to give you foolproof instructions for how to set up a blog, get your own “.com,” and find a design you love – with tons of pictures to guide you that make it impossible for to get wrong.
Along the way, I’ll share some tips that will save you time and money, too!
Here’s what we’ll cover:
6 easy steps for starting a blog
Pick your blogging platform.
Choose a host for your blog.
Decide on a domain name.
Set up WordPress (the easy way)
Choose and customize a design.
Start writing!
I promise: I’ll make all of this so straightforward, you’ll be able to start your own blog in just one sitting:
1. Pick a blogging platform.
When I say “platform,” I mean the software you’ll use to run your blog. You’ve got lots of options: WordPress, Wix, Weebly, and Squarespace to name just a few.
You can read a detailed review of the 10 most popular platforms here — but let me save you some time:
WordPress is your best option if you want to start a blog on a platform that…
Is beginner-friendly
Makes blogging as easy as writing an email
Allows you to have your own “.com”
Has no monthly fees (you only need a host and a domain name)
Comes with 5,000+ themes to suit your style, and
Gives you the power to make money from your blog one day,
There’s a reason why WordPress.org powers over 91% of all the blogs on the web, including 62% of the top 100 company blogs.
But please don’t rush out and sign up just yet! I’ll be showing you how to install WordPress in just one click in Step 4 – and how to configure it all — but there a few quick things we need to do first.
Couldn’t I just start a blog for free on a site like Blogger?
Yes, you can create your blog for free on sites like Blogger. I don’t recommend it, because there are some pretty serious drawbacks you should know about:
Your site will be hard to find.Want a nice site address like “Yourblog.com”? Too bad. With a free site, you’ll be stuck with something like “yourblogname.blogger.com” – so less people will find your content.
You won’t control the content.
Imagine losing years of work when your blog is taken offline because you broke a rule without knowing it. Sound far-fetched? It happens all the time.
You can’t customize your site the way you want to.No free plugins to add functionality like calendars or online shops. Limited themes, so your site looks like everyone else’s. Boooooring.
You’ll find it expensive to switch. When you decide you want more control, switching from a free platform to something like WordPress can take hours of manual work and formatting.
Someone else will profit from YOUR hard work.
This is the worst one: free platforms reserve the right to put ads all over your content. Imagine seeing a huge, ugly pop-up for a product you don’t even support on your blog– and not making a penny off of it! Unfair, right?
You’re better off creating a WordPress blog that can grow with you.
Unsure how much it costs to start a blog? Less than you think!
With a self-hosted WordPress blog you’ll pay less than $10 per month, get a design that’s all your own, AND have your own “.com” to boot. Not bad for the added control and flexibility!
2. Choose a host for your blog.
Assuming you’ve chosen WordPress as your blogging platform (smart move!) your next step is to choose a web hosting service.
Hosting explained in 10 seconds:
Your blog is just a bunch of files. WordPress is the software you create them with. And hosting stores those files so they can be viewed through the web.
TL;DR – Without hosting, nobody will be able to see your blog online.
If you’d like a detailed outline of what hosting is/how it works, check out this post.
When it comes to hosting, three things REALLY matter:
Uptime: You want a host that won’t go offline randomly (bad hosts do this all the time!)
Support: You need fast support from actual experts if something goes wrong.
Price: You deserve fair pricing – and no hidden fees!
If you want web hosting that is cheap, but secure and reliable, I strongly recommend Bluehost.
Why you’ll love Bluehost:
One-click WordPress installation (fast; no messing with tech stuff)
Their uptime is excellent
WordPress recommends them (since 2005!)
PLUS…
You can get a great plan for just $2.75/mo and they throw in a FREE domain name!
(Because I continue to use Bluehost and have had a great experience, all links to Bluehost are referral links. I’ll earn a commission if you make a purchase, and you’ll get that discounted price.)
Of course, you’re free to use any other web hosting provider suitable for WordPress, but to keep this guide focused, I’m going to use Bluehost to explain the setup process.
Sign Up for BlueHost
To take advantage of the discount and free domain, click this link to visit Bluehostin another window. Then, mash on the big fat button to get started. Wahoo – you’re on your way!
IMPORTANT: The site might look a little different, but the steps are exactly the same. Just push whatever “Get Started” button they’re currently running.
Choose the “basic” plan (and save some $$$)
The Basic option is perfect for beginners, and you can always upgrade later when you’re ready.
3. Decide on a domain name.
A domain name is just the address people can find your blog at, like “www.yourblogname.com”
I recommend you get the .com if you can, as it’s easiest for most people to remember, but it’s ok to get an ending like .net or .co if your first choice isn’t available.
Quick tip: Struggling with names?
Try using NameStation or Instant Domain Search! Simply enter a keyword or topic and get dozens of ideas for available domain names all at once.
If you’d like a little more help, this post on choosing a domain name will give you 10 of my top tips!
And if you’re really stuck on a name, just click “Skip this step” along the bottom of the screen above. You can always add your free domain name later, when inspiration hits.
If you already own a domain name, fill out the form on the right. You won’t break anything, even if you’re already running a live site.
Once you’ve added your domain, click “next.”
Complete your registration
There are three quick parts to this step. First, add your account info using a real email address (because you’ll need it to log in!)
Choose your package and optional extras
Next, select the options you want for your account. Your first choice you have is the “Account Plan” – 12, 24, or 36 months. I recommend just 12. Why? Well…
You’d potentially save money by paying for three years upfront. But at 12 months, the price is quite reasonable and you’re not out any extra money if you decide blogging isn’t for you after a year.
Finally, you can choose whether to add on extra features.
Quick tip: Most extras are a waste of $$$ for beginners, but two are absolutely worth considering:
1. Domain Privacy – $0.99/mo (must-have)
When buying a domain, your contact details are added to a public database by law. Buying privacy means Bluehost’s details are listed instead, preventing you from being spammed with hundreds of calls from telemarketers—well worth the tiny price tag.
2. CodeGuard Basic – $2.99/mo (optional)
Losing all your content to a hack or glitch would be a nightmare, agreed? CodeGuard Basic ensures your site is regularly and securely backed up, which is great for peace of mind. You can always add this one later on.
IMPORTANT: If you don’t want any of the optional features, make sure you uncheck the boxes before moving on! It’s very easy to miss.
Enter billing details
Pop in your credit card details, and you’ll be off to the races!
If you’d like to pay with PayPal, select “more payment options” at the top above the fields.
Set a password and log in
You should now see something like the screen below. Click the green “Create your password” button.
Then, set up a secure password, click “I have read and agreed to Bluehost’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service” box, click “Next”…
And finally, click the “Log in” button. That was easy!
Quick tip: You’re about to get an email from Bluehost with your login information, and possibly an activation link. If you can’t find it, check your spam folder.
Save the emails you get from Bluehost with your login details just in case. I usually “star” them in my inbox.
4. Set up WordPress (the easy way)
Good news: now that you’re logged in WordPress is just sitting there, waiting for you!
On the first screen you see, you’ll be asked to pick a theme.
I recommend you skip this step by clicking the link below the pictures of themes, as I’ll be showing you how to explore more (and better) options later.
If you DO choose a theme now, you can always change it later without any problem.
On the next screen, click the “Start Building” button. If you accidentally click the “Or, go to my Bluehost account” link, just push the back button.
Quick tip: If you chose to use a new domain name, your blog may show up on a temporary domain name for a little bit. It’s NOT a glitch!
It can take a few hours for a host to sort out the tech stuff; Bluehost will automatically fix the domain as soon as it’s ready.
You should now see a screen that looks like this:
Welcome to your WordPress dashboard! This is where the magic all happens.
Quick tip: Wondering how to log into your WordPress after you’ve logged out?
You don’t need to revisit Bluehost: you can log into your WordPress dashboard quickly by typing in: “http://www.[YOUR DOMAIN NAME].com/wp-admin”
Just replace [YOUR DOMAIN NAME] with your actual domain name
It’s a super handy shortcut – consider bookmarking it!
On the side bar, you’ll see a few different tabs. Some quick highlights (don’t click any of these for now!)
Posts: This is where you’ll go to write new blog posts or view old ones.
Media: Check out the library photos and files you’ve uploaded or add more.
Pages: Create static pages (if you ever decide to.)
Comments: Manage the comments on your content.
Appearance: Choose new themes or edit the one you have.
Users: If you create content with others, you can add them as users here so they can edit blog posts.
Plugins: Add and remove plugins that give your blog new features.
Don’t worry about the others for the moment.
At this point, you’ve got two options to focus on in the center of the screen: Business, or Personal.
Pick whichever best applies to you right now, and again: don’t worry. All of this is EASILY changed later. Nothing is permanent, and you literally can’t screw this up.
If you clicked “Business” or “Personal”, you’ll see something like this:
“Site Title” is just going to be your blog’s name for now. Punch ‘er in – and don’t add the “www.” – just write it in plain English.
“Site Description” is your chance to write a short and sweet summary of what your blog is all about. Keep it brief – as if you were explaining your blog to a friend or potential client!
As always, don’t worry: all of this can be edited later if you change your mind.
On the next screen, you’ll be asked if you’d like to update your site with news or blog posts. Just click “Yes.”
Now, you get to choose what you’d like for people to see on your home page: the most recent blog posts/updates, or a more “static” home page. I recommend choosing the first option.
Next, you can set up a “Contact Us” page if you’d like people to be able to send you a message through your site. This one’s up to you!
Finally, you’ve got the option to connect your “Jetpack” profile to WordPress to improve security, grow traffic, and track your site’s stats. Jetpack is completely free – so I do recommend going through this quick process if you have a moment.
BUT!
You can always do this later, so simply click “Not now” if you’re not in the mood.
Quick tip: If you signed up with a new domain name, make sure you check your email from Bluehost for an activation link inside the message.
Click it to complete the activation process and bring your new blog to the world.
5. Choose and customize your design
Finally, the most fun part: it’s time to choose a design you are really excited about. In WordPress, they simply refer to designs as “Themes” – don’t let the language throw you.
The good news: You have over 5,000 FREE options to choose from!
The bad news: With so many options, you can spend HOURS going down the design rabbit hole.
I’ve put together a list of 30+ of the best free WordPress Themes if you want some ideas (though some are better for blogs than others!)
But, let’s get to the installation part. To access the Themes, click the “Appearance” tab, and you’ll see a screen like this:
Simply click “Add New Theme” to get started Here’s a quick video that shows you what to do next to find and install a great free theme for your blog – or change the theme you already have.
<VIDEO>
Found a theme you like? Then it’s time to do a little more customization.
My friend Karol put together an AWESOME beginner’s guide on how to customize your WordPress blog in some really important ways, like…
How to make sure Google can find your site
How to edit your site’s menu in WordPress
How to set up your home page
How to improve WordPress security
How to customize your WordPress theme (advanced tips made simple)
You don’t need to do all that right now (I’m about to show you how to write your first post), but I recommend you bookmark Karol’s guide for later.
It’ll be INVALUABLE in saving you some time and keeping things simple later on.
6. Start writing!
The good news is that if you can use Microsoft Word, Pages, or Gmail, writing a blog post in WordPress is just as easy. Let’s walk through some of the important features you should know!
To start writing a post, just click “Posts” in the side-bar, then click “Add New.”
If you’ve logged out of WordPress, type inhttp://your_domain.com/wp-admin/ to log back in!
What you’ll see is a very friendly editor screen that should remind you of MS Word or Pages on Mac:
Let’s break down what you’re seeing here:
1. Title Area: This is where you write the title of your post.
2. Content Area: This is where the body text of your post goes. The whole area works just like text editing in Word or Pages.
3. Standard Editing Tools: Here are options like bold, italic, lists, paragraphs, and headlines.
In a moment, I’ll show you how to use this section to add links, images, and more to your post.
At the very end of the Standard Editing Tools is the “Toolbar Toggle” that looks like this:
Click this to add even more options to your Toolbar, such as Undo/Redo buttons, text color formatting, indentation, and more.
4. Publishing Tools: This is where you get your post shown to the world.
The most important thing to note here is the big, blue “Publish” button you’ll push when your blog post is ready.
You can click “Save Draft” on an incomplete post to save your work without pushing the post live.
The “Preview” button can be useful to test out how your post will look when it’s live without having to publish it right away – especially when adding images or videos.
You can also use the options in this section to schedule a post for the future, make posts public or private (password required), or even UNPUBLISH a post by changing the “Stats” back to “Draft.”
5. Additional Fine-tuning Tools: You’ll sometimes use these tools to update your blog post, tag it with a category, or add a featured image – but for now, you won’t be using this much. You can learn more about
WordPress categories and tags here.
Quick tip: Do you write your blog posts in a program like Word, and then copy and paste them into WordPress? You may get frustrated by how WordPress formats the text you paste.
To avoid problems, make sure you’ve clicked the “Toolbar Toggle” button, then click the “Paste as Text” button that looks like the below:
WordPress will strip out all of your previous formatting, so you can customize the text to look exactly how you like.
Adding headings
Headings help you structure your content and make it easier for people to read. For example, in the text above, “Adding headings” is my heading!
This helps people who want to scan content find what they need. Consider adding headings for each of your main points.
To add a heading, scroll up to “Paragraph” drop-down menu and select the heading you’d like to use.
Note that the “Heading 1” is usually reserved for the post’s title, so stick to the smaller headings (with larger numbers) inside the post.
Quick tip: “Heading 1” is usually reserved for the blog post’s title, so you shouldn’t use it again in the body of your content.
Consider using “Heading 2” to break down the different sections of your content, and “Heading 3” for sub-headings inside those big sections.
Trying to get more traffic from Google? Google loves to see the keywords you’re targeting in your headings, so try to use them naturally!
Adding Links
It’s a good idea to link to other (credible) websites: whether to share a piece of content or back up a claim you’ve made, or share another one of your own posts. WordPress makes it easy.
To add links to your posts, highlight the desired text (for this example, I just wrote “Add links” as my text) and then scroll up to the blog menu.
Click the button that looks like a paperclip, to the right of the “Align right” item and above the “Add BWS Shortcode”.
From there, add the URL you want to link to:
Then, click the Settings icon on the right (the wheel-looking item above, next to the arrow).
Click the “Open the link a new tab” box. This is important—you don’t want people to leave your site when they click on a link!
Adding images
I touched on this briefly before, but I’ll explain it more here. Start by scrolling up to the top of the blog menu and click “Add Media” in the top left corner of the menu.
From here, select the files you’d like to upload. You can find previously uploaded files from the “Media Library” at the top-left corner next to “Upload Files” – no need to upload them again!
Once you’ve uploaded an image, you can choose its size and placement.
Adding a “Featured” Image
A featured image is simply the image that will be displayed at the very top of your post, and will be used in the thumbnails of your article when you share it on places like Facebook or Twitter.
To add a featured image, run your mouse along the right sidebar of your blog menu. You’ll see an option titled “Set featured image”.
Click that, then go through the same uploading process to add an image as you did in the step above.
Quick tip: Try to pick a featured image that draws the eye – you’d be surprised how colorful, weird, or interesting images can make a HUGE difference on how many people will click through to read your blog posts!
Adding videos from YouTube
Videos are AMAZING! Whether you want to showcase your own vlogs or just share a video you love, adding this type of content is a great way to keep people interested.
To add a YouTube video…
Visit the page of the YouTube video you want to share and copy the URL.
Paste the URL into the content area of your WordPress blog. Make sure the link is on its own line (no text before or after) and is NOT clickable (don’t make it a link!)
As soon as you push “Publish” on your post, the video will appear on the live version.
Still stuck? Our friends at WPBeginner have a guide for this if you need any further help—check it out here.
Customizing your “Slug”
What the heck is a “slug?”
It’s the URL of your post – for example, if your domain name is “yourdomainname.com,” the slug would be the address of the specific post you are publishing, such as “yourdomainname.com/my-post/.”
That last bit at the end? That’s the slug.
You want to make this slug clear and concise. This will make it easier for people to share your content on social media.
You can find the slug underneath the post title. It will say “Permalink: https://ift.tt/2wZ3TfR”.
By default, WordPress will make the title of your post the slug. But usually, this is way too long.
You should change it so that it’s no longer than 2 – 4 words.
Here are some tips for optimizing your WordPress slugs:
Target SEO keywords. Think of what people would type to Google when they search for the information you share in the post—those are SEO keywords.
Avoid duplicates (make sure it’s not the same as another slug on your website).
Don’t change the slug after publishing the post (unless you absolutely have to) as this will result in lost traffic.
Publish Your Post
All done? Click that “Publish” button. Then click “View post” when the link appears to see your new post live in action!
Congratulations! You just published your first blog post. But don’t stop there!
Here are some tips for creating strong blog content that your audience will love:

How to Make Money as an Amazon Affiliate
Knowing how to make money as an Amazon Affiliate is one of the topics we are asked to cover here at BlogPaws. Fortunately, our team has many years of combined experience with this topic, as they, too, are successful Amazon Affiliates.
We are pulling back the curtain and going behind the velvet ropes with a ‘deeper dive’ into making money as an Amazon Affiliate. There are many ways to monetize on Amazon beyond affiliate links.
Two Keys to Make Money as an Amazon Affiliate
Must have consistent traffic to your blog
Must realize that people just need to CLICK on your affiliate links or posts and buy something even if it is NOT the item to which you linked
Being consistent, solving a problem, and being a valued resource to your readers and potential followers are all important elements to gain and maintain blog traffic.
Be sure to check out 5 Easy Ways to Increase Blog Traffic.
When someone clocks through your affiliate link, said person has 24 hours to make a purchase on Amazon in order for you to receive a commission. However, if the person clicks through on someone else’s Amazon affiliate link before the 24 hours are up, that Amazon Affiliate will receive commission. If the person clears cache and cookies on their browser, the cookie is lost.
Making Money with Amazon Opportunities
Most folks know the term “Amazon Affiliate,” but there are a plethora of ways to make make money with Amazon, so we’re calling them Amazon opportunities.
During a recent Facebook Live in the BlogPaws Social Learning Community Facebook Group, BlogPaws’ Director of Influencer Marketing, touched on some of the many ways to make money with Amazon.
“Most of you are probably familiar with Amazon Affiliate links,” Elfeinbein says. “This is where you search for a product you love and share the link in your blog post or on your social channel. This, however, is not the only offering you can take advantage of through Amazon. Visit your affiliate account and you will find all of your options as drop down menus at the top of the screen. You can use any combination of the following options.”
Banner Ads – This is not traditional banner ads and it almost looks like this might be fazing out or getting a facelift in time for the holidays.
CPM – You need an existing ad network set up but once you have one you can create banner, sidebar, header, and footer ads from Amazon. Amazon allows you to set your cost per mill (or cost per thousand impressions). If Amazon cannot fulfill a space at your set CPM the ad will revert back to your regular ad network.
Native Ads – Various times throughout the year Amazon runs specials using the Native Ad Platform. Native Ads are customizable so that you put in the exact products you would like displayed or you can pick subcategories of products to display.
Mobile Popover – If you choose this option be mindful of your readers experience and make sure to test it on your own site before full implementation.
Link to a Page – Instead of linking to just one product you can link to hot topics, best sellers, special offer pages, or search results.
Seasonal Promotions – This option allows you to have a static sidebar ad on your Blog that promotes one of hundreds of different special offers. Everything from Prime Pantry for Pet Food Delivery to deep discounts on open boxes of camping gear. Use the search function to find an option that makes sense for you or scroll through the categories to see what is currently on offer. Traditionally, Amazon creates holiday-themed pet promotions sometime in November.
Bounties – Amazon has a number of subscription-based products that they want your help in promoting. These are called bounties. You can copy and paste code onto your blog that allows your readers to take advantage of a trial offer. When they sign up for the offer you get a set payout. Bounties change seasonally so check back often to see is something new has popped up.
10 Fast Facts About Amazon Affiliates
Please ensure when sharing Amazon affiliate links in your blog posts that they do not appear in your newsletter or RSS feed. This is a great reason to switch your blog posts from read-in-full to click-for-more option. Be sure that if you do include affiliate links in your post that they appear below the read more links. Also, you cannot use Amazon affiliate links in ebooks or PDFs. You can link in ebooks and PDFs to your blog posts that contain Amazon Affiliate links (again, with proper disclosure in the posts).
While you can share links freely to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram please be aware that Amazon Affiliate program policy is a little less clear on sharing to Pinterest. To that end, we recommend not sharing to Pinterest until terms of service change. Links shared on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter must have proper disclosure.
When sharing to your blog and social media, please remember to fully disclose.
You have the options of being paid via gift card or direct deposit. Either way, you will receive payment on a minimum of $10 earnings. If that takes one month or six months, the payment will accumulate in your account. If you prefer to receive a check be aware that payout on check does not occur until you have accumulated $100 in payment.
A strong Call to Action is essential in any blog post, especially with affiliate links. Learn more to use a call to action successfully.
Regarding the handshake tool on Facebook, as of this writing you are not to tag Amazon. You should tag a brand in the post that you are promoting. You also need to properly disclose, as indicated in #3.
When sharing an affiliate link on your blog, it must be a nofollow link. Learn what a nofollow tag is.
Watch for promotions and bounties in your Amazon Affiliate dashboard. Promotions expire, but in most cases, bounties do not. If you plan to use these sort of affiliate opportunities with Amazon, you can either start a spreadsheet to track expiring promotions and/or you can choose the “set it and forget” option.
Give your readers options: If you show them a favorite dog bowl you use, give them a variety of bowls using ads within blog posts. Or you can say something like, “This is the stainless steel bowl that my dog uses or you can try this one.” If you hyperlink “stainless steel bowl” to the one you use, you can also hyperlink “try this one” for folks to have choices.
If you build it, they will come. Personally, I set my top 10 posts up as Amazon affiliate posts with proper disclosure because Google Analytics tells me they are the most trafficked posts on my blog. In doing so, I have seen a direct conversion of those products recommended and related ones. Remember, as long as someone clicks through and buys something from you on Amazon from that clicked link within 24 hours, you will get the commission.
Bonus Amazon Affiliate Tip
Check your dashboard from time to time. I check my dashboard weekly, but I know folks who check in daily. By following what people are purchasing and related products, you can even build content that makes sense around this data. Check out the clicks and ordered items within your affiliate dashboard and to track sales and revenue. You are a business owner, so work this facet of your business like a boss!
Don’t Get Kicked Out
There are many ways to get kicked out of the Amazon Affiliate program. You need to work the program so that folks are actually clicking on your links. Amazon won’t keep affiliates on who are not contributing to their bottom line: Sales. Also, this is a great post on things not to do as an Amazon affiliate.
Amazon Program Policies
As of this writing, Felissa Elfenbein, shares the following policies in place as an Amazon affiliate. Always check your Amazon Affiliate terms of service for any changes and/or updates.
Pet products receive an eight percent standard fee. This means that whatever you share that falls under pet products you will receive eight percent on the sale.
Be careful when sharing Amazon Affiliate links to free Kindle books. If you share too many links or that is all your readers are clicking on and “purchasing,” you can be locked out of your affiliate and bounty payments for that month. Regular Kindle books or Kindle books that are discounted but not down to free are fine to share and would not make you fall into this category.
If you currently have multiple Amazon Affiliate accounts so that you can take advantage of visitors from the UK and Canada you can now take advantage of the OneLink feature. Basically it links your accounts and you can use one code for everyone. The OneLink code takes your visitor to their local Amazon Store to purchase the item you are featuring.
