i spent the whole second half of the 6th episode and first half of the 7th like....this is so weird, rhys looks like he's having the time of his life and taika is just. not moving his face at all. whats going on here. like tonally the whole "theres a storm coming i just cant see it" thing foreshadows that something more complicated is going on with ed that we're not privy to, but it took me a minute to realize why even the "happy" scenes felt so off. it really does throw into relief JUST how much facial acting and micro-expressions he's doing all the time, because when he stops it immediately feels so fucked up and wrong without even any ominous line reads. so yeah, good job taika

So Thor: Love and Thunder

10/10 loved every second of it.

In regards to criticisms ive seen.

I didnt notice any bad effects. I mean its possible but like...ok people talk about the good puppets and cgi in the original jurassic park but...they are obviously fake. If u cant suspend your disbelief enough to accept cgi that doesnt look perfectly realistic u are going to hate everything but avatar. Even good video games have obvioua fakeness idk what u want.

People would link that one hologram and its... a 10 yr old boy using his powers for the first time...like it was obviously intentionally meant to look like a disney movie hologram

Thor is treated as a joke? Wrong. Hes def treated like a powerful established hero. Ragnarok utilized the moiri form of atorytelling in which the man who thinks himself greater is the fool, and thus made him the buff for much of it, but this doesnt do that. The comedy comes mostly atand alone jokes , the rom com vibe, and silly situations that come about from high fantasy nature (i.e. thor ia ao powerful that getting ahot by a laser iant a threat and so combat is more a backdrop for conversation than a problem)

Valkalrie got sidelined? Not really. I mean she was always the tertiary character and after thor and fem thor she had the most characterization. Korg merely existed as a storytelling device , an audience surogate and a supplier of jokes. Regardless it was def fun to see all 4 of them playing off each other.

The gods sucked, and they did a great job of making u hate them and chriatian bale did a great job.

The plot made sense, the jokes were good, i laughed everytime the screaming goats came. It was fun, it was sincere, it was a good part of the mcu

Hate no doubt comes from one or more of the following

He does need to apologize for that one video, however if u actually watch it i think its obvious it was meant to be a "director teases his own product" with a bit of "of course if u freeze frame animation its going to look worse, because its suppoae to be animated" like woth people doing exactly that with thor using the thunderbolt.

1) thor was a fuckin joke the entire time. he wouldnt abandon his people like that. i hate that they made his ptsd into a fuckin joke. and everyone made jokes over it. you think his mom would say " eat a salad " hell fuckin no. rocket would really keep makin fun of him??? no. because he knows what he went through. he wouldnt do that. rhodey? hell fuckin no. rhodey has dealt with his own share of ptsd. with nightmares. and he knows people handle it differently. he wouldnt be a douche about it.

2) steve ??? you really,,,, really fuckin think that steve would go back in time ?????? NO. he KNEW peggy moved on. she had a husband. she had kids. NO. youre telling me he didnt move on ??? they kissed ONCE 70 YEARS AGO .and they knew each other for 3-4 years. you think hed leave his best friend ? whether or not you ship stucky, they are soulmates, whether that be platonic or romantic. he wouldnt just,,, ditch him. and he wouldnt ditch the avengers. that was his FAMILY. what about the the " you gave me a home " quote from the comics that steve said to tony ? thats just ???? nothing. yorue telling me that he lived out in the past,,, hidden. he has to hide away because everyone thinks hes dead. oh and he just never went and got his best friend from hydra ? completely just left him to get tortured for 70 years ?? what about knowing that hydra infiltrated shield.. his WIFES organization? and he was just like thats ok ! wont tell her. oh and how about the sharon love plot? HE KISSED HER. SHE WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT THATS HER GREAT UNCLE. AND HE... KISSED HER. INCEST. steve would never be that selfish

3) im so heckin !!!! woooo !!!!! about steve wielding thors hammer. that was SPICY. but he wouldnt be able to conjure lightening. the hammer harnesses the power. steve doesnt have that power. yet hes able to use it ? no.

4) you cant destroy the infinity stones. theyre energy. energy cannot be created nor destroyed. its impossible.

5) banner was a dick. he was a cocky son of a bitch. thats not his character. idc if hes professor hulk now. he ! was ! a ! dick !

6) thor wouldnt just leave his people to go fly off the guardians. dont get me wrong im excited that valkyrie is leading bc i love her. but cmon ?? the russos destroyed everything that taika wrote and developed for his character in ragnraok.

7) cant fuckin believe the man finally got out. tony finally got out and had a family and he was dragged back in and he was killed. that destroyed me. and its unfair. project tahiti. it could have been fixed. morgan should not have to grow up without a father.

8) they did nat dirty. it should have been clint that jumped. dont get me wrong i love him but he murdered hundreds and from what i can tell... for no reason. they werent at fault for his family's death. so i dont understand why he was doing it. it should have been him so he could have redeemed himself. they killed off one of the only female leads like it was nothing. she didnt get a funeral. she just got a few dudes standing around in a circle being sad. thats unfair. thats wrong. youre telling me that the woman who singlehandedly held the avengers together for five years deserves to die ? no

9) this might just be lame but there should have been pepper and morgan scenes and rhodey and morgan scenes.

10) "" love of my life "" thats dramatic steve. you kissed once.

11) nebula killed her past self. that should have killed her present self.

12) so loki just dashed outta there with the tesseract. um ?? what ?? whats that mean for him ? where is he ?

13) so... is peter just 5 years younger than his classmates ?? or did everyone get dusted ? why are they going to spain ? did the school just feel bad and is like lol lets go to spain !!!

14) they hardly used carol's abilities. yeah she destroyed a ship. and that was AMAZING. but for the battle ?? she could have destroyed all of them . same with thor. they didnt use their powers appropriately.

Thor: Love and Thunder is rebuilding Asgard, but it will be difficult to bring it back without undermining the lessons learned from its destruction in Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame. Director Taika Waititi is currently in the middle of production for his next MCU film. After getting significantly delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, production has been going smoothly for a few months, with various set images making their way online, offering an idea about what to expect from the sequel. Among the latest images reveal that the movie will see the return of old Asgard.

Subsequent images reveal that it will be part of another theater scene similar to the dramatization of Loki's fake death in Thor: The Dark World; only this time, it will be Odin's demise. This confirms that, whatever else is happening in this backdrop, it will be set after the real Asgard was destroyed at the end of Ragnarok. Since the remaining Asgardians have relocated to Earth following their home world's destruction, there's also a chance they're trying to mimic the look of their old kingdom in their new settlement.

While this might sound like a great idea to help them feel more at home, it undercuts the idea that Asgard is not a place, it's a people, which was a strong theme in both Ragnarok and Endgame. It was only later on, during his spiritual conversation with Odin at his lowest moment while fighting Hela, that he realized that he was focused on saving the wrong Asgard. Instead of having an attachment to the actual location, he needed to take care of its people. This ultimately gave him the idea of intentionally starting Ragnarok to defeat the Goddess of Death and ensure the safety of his citizens, as wherever they may next go, they will be Asgard, as long as Asgardian people remained.

The idea is emphasized, albeit more subtly, in Endgame. In the brief time the Joe and Anthony Russo film was in New Asgard, it's revealed the Asgardians were making do with what they had. While their supposed king was non-functioning, as he tried to shut himself down from responsibility following his catastrophic mistake in Avengers: Infinity War, they seemed to be doing well, partly thanks to Valkyrie for taking charge of the situation. While it looked like a simple fishing town, the fact that they appeared to be thriving highlighted the fact that this was still Asgard, because it's where Thor's people were; they don't have to rebuild it with grand stages and palatial constructions to make it feel like home.

Interestingly, while Thor: Ragnarok spent its time destroying signature elements of the God of Thunder's sub-franchise in an effort to send a message that it was a new beginning, Thor: Love and Thunder appears to be bringing them back. Aside from restoring old Asgard, Mjölnir is also back on set. While it did appear in Avengers: Endgame, Captain America eventually returned it to its original time setting at the end of the same movie. It's unclear how the magical hammer factors into the story, but just like Asgard being rebuilt, it undermines the lessons Thor has learned after Hela crushed it with her bare hands.

I'm looking forward to this and rumour has it we'll possibly have this film at the end of 2021, but here's the thing, isn't Sherlock Holmes 3 due around the same time? I cant help but feel that Sherlock is going to be a flop because, (A) There's no Guy Ritchie at the helm and (B) Jude Law & Robert Downey jr. Will be going head to head with Marvel.
