I’ll PM you a few of my favorite lines tonight or tomorrow, ones that didn’t make me cringe as hard as the rest when I reread them yesterday. they’re not clever or deep, just some similes or imagery I still like.

(when my Creative Writing teachers said certain pieces were “outstanding” I always knew they meant “high school-level outstanding” and not “timeless literary masterpieces”, lol. my worst pieces definitely read like Hot Topic T-shirts (of which I owned many! although most were band shirts). but it’s all more coherent and well-spoken than the shit I string together nowadays. everything comes across as hesitant. fic, emails, everything.)

((also, a lot of the pieces were super dark personal accounts that I just don’t want to publish online in case this blog ever gets linked back to my full name or is found by my family. I got my very best marks for those pieces, but now I’m not sure if that was because they were lurid and frank or because the teachers felt bad for me. I’m embarrassed I was ever as open as I was about some of that stuff!))
