What's the best gift you've ever received? Favourite aroma? Nostalgic memory? Pizza or pasta? What was your first job? Who do you admire most? What do you find hard to do? You have a round the world ticket, where do you go? What's the oldest item of clothing in your wardrobe? Strawberry jam or lemon curd?

The best gift I’ve ever received, tbh, is that my father has paid for a vacation (“holiday” as you say) almost every summer for most of the last decade, with my family. And my husband is really good at picking out lovely earrings for me, and I have a nice collection of simple studs and small dangly earrings from him. 

Favorite aroma is hard because there are several, but I will go with the absolutely perfect strong coffee smell when I’m walking by the bean grinder station at the supermarket. Yum.

Nostalgic memory? Oh, I got it. I had a group of three close friends in upper elementary through high school. The four of us all lived in the same neighborhood and went to school together and hung out often. When we had a sleepover (for birthdays or for whatever random reason), we would buy a frozen chocolate silk pie from the supermarket, cut it into fourths, and each eat our section until we felt sick. Then we would watch a movie or something together. I think I got introduced to TXF at one of those sleepovers, in fact. Unfortunately it was “Excelsis Dei” (blech). The pie looked something like this:

Pizza over pasta, but let’s face it, neither of them is good for me. Carbs are my downfall.

My first job (other than babysitting) was working in a convenience store with a built-in deli. That also happened to be where I met my first boyfriend, who was the assistant manager. 

Corny as it sounds, I actually admire my husband the most. He was dealt a difficult hand with his severe learning disabilities and ADHD/ASD. He had lots of learning challenges as a kid, bullying, not many friends. He learned how to overcome these things, and school and work got easier for him as he focused more and more on where he’s strong. And where he’s strong, he’s really, really strong, like a world expert in some narrow areas. And he works so hard and does so much for other people. He’s probably the most genuinely generous person I know. I wish I had some of his focus and a little more of his drive. But I’m so thankful that I learned about generosity from him.

What do I find hard to do? Go to parties, make phone calls, not procrastinate. I have some introversion and ADHD issues, but I’m trying to improve. 😀

If I were to go around the world, I’d go to: Iceland, Ireland and Scotland, Spain and Gibraltar with a side trip to Morocco, Italy, Stockholm, Czech Republic, Israel, Cape Town, Turkmenistan, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Hawaii, Chile, Antartica, back through Brazil, San Francisco, and back home. Wait, is that too many places? 😂

The oldest item of clothing I own is a bright pink t-shirt which says “Talleyville Softball All-Stars 1992″ and it still fits me! 😂
