I’ve been seeing a lot of really cool Kirby gijinka designs so I thought I would try my hand at making some of my own. Here’s my take on gijinkas of Taranza and Susie.

What if Kirby characters could drive cars?

Let's just assume gijinka versions of them because otherwise most don't even have the proper anatomy to drive, LOL.

Anyways, here are my thoughts on the matter:

-Kirby is a funny case because he's shown decent motoring skills such as piloting a Robobot Armor, but he's also a literal child. So therefore, no license for him.

-Susie would be the most skilled driver in the cast, I feel. But she'd also be unhinged in the way she drives. She'd make all sorts of crazy "advanced" maneuvers that would terrify someone in her passenger seat. Basically, she has such high confidence of her driving capabilities that she's arrogant on the road. You'd think that this would lead to her easily getting into accidents, but she does have good enough reflexes and reaction time to dodge a lot of potential accidents. Not at all to say she's untouchable... she'd absolutely get into accidents on occasion, but she often gets away with her overconfidence by reacting quick enough to escape many dangerous moments. Still would be nerve wracking to be in the passenger seat with her though.

-Magolor would be good at driving as well. Probably even the second most skilled driver in the cast, but he'd get into accidents a lot more often than Susie would. Him canonically crashing the Lor Starcutter more than once makes me believe this. He'd also speed in a lot of instances where he thinks he can get away with it. Heck, I wouldn't even be surprised if he'd be mischievous enough to sometimes honk his horn with the sole intent of pissing other drivers off because he thinks it's funny.

-Marx should not be allowed to have a license. The reasons are fairly self explanatory. He'd instigate chaos in traffic and cause accidents on purpose. He'd be an absolute menace on the road. Don't let this shitfaced lunatic drive a car. I love this jester but I would not under any circumstances trust him to drive. Well, maybe I wouldn't trust a lot of others in the cast to drive, but especially Marx.

-Daroach would probably be decent at driving, but you know damn well that if you see him driving then he 100% stole the car he's using. Although I think it'd be funny if car theft is something he did pretty often. Like every time he finds a new favorite car, he then just takes it and drives off with it.

-Taranza is a strange case. His six hands would make him seem like he'd be stellar at driving, but I also imagine he's someone that's just not great at using tech appliances. Give him enough training and I think he'd be good at driving, but overall he'd be the least skilled driver out of the Wave 3 triad because the other two are just much better with tech.

Funny scenario: Taranza is in the passenger seat with either Susie or Magolor driving, and he gets nervous of their arrogant driving mentalities, despite him being less skilled than them in driving.

-I'm not sure if King Dedede would stand out as a driver. I guess he'd be alright at it? Not great but not awful. Although I imagine he'd probably just let waddle dees drive for him.

-Reminder that Meta Knight himself does not pilot the Halberd, it's his crewmates. I think they'd be better drivers than him, LOL. I think he himself might be alright in terms of driving capability, but would also notably suffer from road rage because of how easily combative he is.

-Speaking of road rage, I actually see many in the cast suffering from it. Meta Knight, Dedede, Susie, Zan and maybe Magolor would all be road ragers sometimes. I think the biggest road ragers, however, would be Flamberge and Dark Meta Knight... those two would lowkey fall under the "get out and fight the other driver" levels of road rage. I guess Meta Knight might occasionally do that too, but not as vehemently as those two.

-Would the animal friends bother driving, even in gijinka forms? I imagine ChuChu and Pitch are kids so no for them. Not sure about Nago because he seems lazy. Rick... sure, probably, albeit not often. The idea of gijinka-ified Coo and Kine piloting aerial and aquatic vehicles respectively sounds cool, but I'm not sure how likely they'd actually do that lol. Kine seems pretty air headed for that.

-Gooey driving would be the funniest thing ever. It'd obviously go very poorly but I think it'd be entertaining to watch just to see what happens. LMAO.

-Depending on if you headcanon Bandana Waddle Dee as either a child or an adult, I think he'd be a serviceable driver if the latter. But in my case, he's a kid. So no license for him.

That's... practically all my notable thoughts for this matter. What do you think?

Waking Up in Dreamland AU

The name mostly comes from a fic I need to work on that's novelization of my ver of gameverse.

This is my version of Gameverse Kirby, just a heads up Kirby is an adult in this.(I have to say this due to anime Kirby) I'm not touching the anime ver though have a version of that Kirby too.(A lot of my early Kirby stuff was due to growing up with Kirby Right Back at Ya cause it played on the same channel as Sonic X, I learned about the games earlier than the Sonic games)

Here's a collection of all the Kirby I have, all separate versions(except for the two for animeverse)

Summary of AU:

Kirby wakes up in Dreamland with no idea who he is past his name.(I swear it's not intentional that both my versions of Kirby & Sonic have amnesia) With help from a Kabu(yes inspired by the anime) & the friends he makes along the way Kirby makes a life for himself in Dreamland while going on adventures, helping his new friends at points & using his mysterious copy powers.

Yeah it's gameverse Kirby with a side of mysterious past & gijinka for certain characters.

Some notes:

Kirby, other puffballs, Waddle Dee/Doo can go into a gijinka form, anyone else doesn't have one or needs some item to allow for one

This follows the gamevers to an extent but might vary at points

I try not to follow the anime since that's a different Kirby, the only thing from it is Kabu but even then the mini ones are still around

There’s like one big ass Kabu in a location with ruins then the rest are the smaller ones are all over the place. He’s not all seeing like the anime one is implied to be but he’s still wise/knows a lot & helps out where he can. A couple of the characters Suzie & Taranza end up going to talk to him to get some weight off their chests at least once. Kirby’s adventures start with him waking up in a hidden room carved out deep within his ruins.

Kirby is kind of a nervous person when not in puffball form, Meta Knight seems to be more calm in puffball form

While many puff balls can get wings Kirby doesn't(It's part of the mysteries he hasn't learned yet)

There's a few mysteries/things about himself that Kirby doesn't know/remember, while they don't always come up he'll eventually learn about his past over time

A part of me wants to call Kirby's species batamon, I know that's one of the secret enemies that look similar to Kirby but a part of me felt like it's interesting

Magolor and Taranza Gijinka

So I have been thinking about what certain Kirby characters would look like as humans recently, and have been trying to sketch it out! These are just sketches for now, but I am working on color version atm, as well as full body drawings. So for Magolor, I would imagine him to have a long sleeveless coat/vest thing with a hood, to emulate his on his little, fox/cat/owl body. I would imagine this is made out a of a heavy, but not thick material. The type that drapes very well, as he uses a belt buckle around his waist to create some shape with it. This would be a white color with gold accents on it.

The reason I picked a sleeveless one, is to show off the undershirt! I imagine Magolor to be surprisingly toned, he IS a dimensional explorer afterall, he is no pushover! But as he is a mage, he is not a muscular person. So his shirt would be a fitted one over the arms, and I put some fun gear patterns on the shoulders! I imagine this as a deeper blue (you can see the color in that weird blob in the bottom right corner bleeding through the page) with the gear being a golden yellow.

Additionally, he wears a necklace that sits just above his collar bone, with an additional chain hanging from the middle bead that has a golden star at the end!

Not pictured is I imagine Magolor goes and does field research often, collecting samples, testing spells, etc. So not only is his clothing built for adventure (pockets!), but he has on a pair of good boots! They're shorter ones, and I'm leaning towards lace up style, with more gear insignia on the back. I think halfway through the adventure with Kirby, or maybe once Kirby and co get all the Lor pieces, they return to see that Magolor swapped shirts (and to return the pieces ya know). This once is a more flowy style, that drapes on his figure compared to the fitted one from before (though in my drawing it looks skintight haha). I'm unsure if I want to keep the deep blue color, or go for a lighter blue-grey here, to signify something is off about Magolor when Kirby returns.

For his hair, at first I was imagining something half up-half down, but then I remembered that is the hairstyle I always use for Meta Knight, and that was not going to cut it. This is the part I am most iffy about, but so far I have enjoyed this messy bun! I think it pairs well with him having pretty features, and a longer nose, neck, pronounced collar bone, etc. Like even though in actuality Magolor is a round little cat guy, I enjoy picturing him as an angular pretty anime boy. Kinda a heart-throb-and-he-knows-it type. Too much of an ego on him, but well earned so you can't really bash him for it. Now for Taranza, I have less pictures, but a much more solid idea of what I want him to look like. For him I think I am staying much closer to what his in-game appearance is, but with more formality and prettiness!

(Please ignore how awkward that drawing looks, I drew his head at an angle, and it looked fine in pencil, but then I inked it without giving any weight to the lines, and then I did flat colors and now he looks quite bizarre)

So he has his cape thing, which I decided was kinda a half-shoulder cape, rather than a full body one. I felt that it matched better with the idea that he works/worked for royalty. And that is reflected in how his cape is held in place by like brooches?? Idk what you actually call the equivalent for cufflinks but for a cape, but it's there.

For the rest of his outfit, I wanted it to look like a worker at the palace's uniform, but slightly fancier, so it's a fitted, collared shirt with buttons (that get bigger in the middle to match Taranza's in game design), with a belt (idk if I like the buckle or not on it), and then slightly fitted pants. He just has some slippers for now, or maybe they could be loafers, but boy is magic and flies around when he can so why need sturdy shoes?

On the same train of thought, Taranza is not very muscular, but he is quite lithe and slender. Which is part of why the formal royal uniform suits him well I think!

His hair is basically the same as his in-game, and I imagine the general shape to match Kurapika from HunterxHunter's.

ahhh. the fated question. i, in fact, DO have other gijinkas! they’re incomplete and lack ‘official’ references, but they’re far along enough that i can share them!

exhibit a: this embarrassingly lazy and half-hearted attempt at a gijinka of marx

(if i’m right,) i drew this last year with my initial concepts for wave 3. he didn’t really give me the right vibes though, so i dropped his design pretty fast. i felt like i wasn’t getting his personality displayed in the right way, and the design itself didn’t exactly feel like marx.

exhibit b: a genuine yet abandoned attempt at dedede

the goal of my dedede design was to actually try a different body type out for once (particularly that of certain wrestlers) which went sort of well! i managed to break the bulkier body down into simple initial shapes for me to start with. i don't exactly remember why i lost steam on this one...

exhibit c: WHY IS JORONIA SUCH A STRUGGLE TO DESIGN??

augh. yeah. both of these are incomplete because the designs i came up with for her REALLY didn't feel like they fit her. the concept and process for the first one was a bit maddening, too, since it was SUPPOSED to a reflection of sectonia in the shattered glass. not a lot of thought went into that one.

the second one, however, feels a bit closer to what i want. i can't quite describe the fashion style, but i distinctly remember choosing to give her a black shirt instead of a white shirt so that she didn't match taranza's design too much. in this case, the black is supposed to represent her height in the social hierarchy as a monarch. the red is supposed to match her cape in her original design and also symbolise her ever-flowing love for her kingdom and its denizens.

why did i just analyse my own stuff. naurrr.

i remember redesigning my marx gijinka on scrap paper but that's probably gone, and i have a few galactas lying around but idrk about the quality of them. hopefully sometime in the near future these three will get solid designs and refs from me, but for now they reside in limbo!!

Now for explanations on characters (at least, the ones I've come up with)

Kirby: Child who seems to still be in the sixth grade no matter how much time passes like he's ash ketchum from the pokemon anime

King Dedede: Left unchanged. Genuinely what would be different except that he no longer has a beak

Meta Knight: Famous detective. Picture Herlock Sholmes from ace attorney except he tries really really hard to pretend he isnt like that and is instead brooding and mysterious. His real name is probably Thomas or David or something

Bandee, Gooey, and Elfilin: Kirby's friends :D

Magolor: A traveling magician. He shows up to a town in a boat, books a hotel room for a few days, does some cool tricks, and leaves

Taranza: A struggling aristocrat who wants to stay with Sectonia despite her not loving him back, yet feels like he's missing so much by staying cooped up in a palace.

Susie: Works at a big, fancy hotel owned by her father. tbh i cant think of much else for her but ill get there

Daroach: Imagine if puss in boots was a ratboy. He's technically wanted by the law but most people will do absolutely nothing to let them have him.

Want to make a kirby au but I have no idea how to describe the way it works. Yes it's a vessel for magoranza howd you guess
