The singing ceased and was soon replaced by incessant bell-ringing— the beginning of an ill-requited plague of Christmas carols, unrelentingly streamed from each corner of the store. The shop was only humble; not in the terrible way, but the cosy way, though it did take some brave jostling to travel back and forth the aisles. Christmas sales; marvelled she at human culture. Practices changed over time, but it had been a secret yet unshared that Tatia thoroughly enjoyed the season — the white snow, the puffy trees, the excitement she could sense. Everything, but carols. She should have stopped the dingy torture before it was invented.

It was too early to be playing Christmas music, but Tatia felt the instant switch in atmosphere; from a Saturday to something far happier. She couldn't quite complain. Another five minutes spent, and people seemed to be drawn into the store, reminding her of fireflies to a light trap, so she made her payment and left, remaining largely unscathed, save for the imperceptible lightness in her purse.

Melding into the busy street, she leisurely spun a corner, and another, but halted curiously in front of her... mirror-image-dressed-in-other-clothing. Her eyes searched the doppelganger. Katherine? Elena? Not quite, she felt. Enraptured with uncertainty, a rare loss of knowing that fluttered her heart, she remained silent, waiting for the young lady to speak.

It's kind of just been one big miscommunication. but le gasp - not Elijah and Tatia, too. That's both mine and Rebekah's OTP!

I want a Tatia hug! I think Rebekah will confide in her eventually - Tatia's her best friend. But she's very stubborn about talking about her feelings and weaknesses :(
