How to watch episode 19&20 wearing shipping goggles

So, I rambled about the beloved Zhancheng Sunshot Campaign episodes here, but still have many thoughts within me, which culminates in this extended cut.

I'm calling episode 19 and 20 of The Untamed the Zhancheng Sunshot episodes, because they basically are just one mini-movie of them wandering around, investigating Wei Wuxian's disappearance and sunshooting while being cute.

Starting with their power couple entrance.

We're picking up with them after the entire "insert Golden Core in shidi" drama after a 3 months timeskip. This is just a whole banquet served for a starved shipper like myself. Just think of all the sweet and salty filler you can use those 3 months for. Jiang Cheng was all by himself after the Core debacle, having nothing but spiritual power and a fancy hat. Without a sword, he basically had to hitchhike or walk to the Cloud Recesses to find help. Lan Wangji had just led an group of disciples to take his home back from the Wens. His uncle was still injured, most of the Cloud Recesses had been burnt, his sword was also unavailable. He does carry a sword in episode 18, but it doesn't seem to be Bichen and he is without one when we pick up with him here.

This is also the first time we hear Lan Wangji speak again since episode 14. So, it's necessary to have him say something iconic like "Kneel" to make Jiang Cheng melt on the inside. He does make an incredible entrance, even without a sword. As does Jiang Cheng.

Jiang Cheng flies in all by himself. He has no sword, no disciples, and no one knows where he got the fancy robes from. He has Lan Wangji though, who basically works like a sword to carry. Good choice, Jiang Cheng!

Wearing your shipping goggles, you can happily fawn over them taking the lead in this moment together. Lan Wangji walks ahead, he has Wangji somewhere in his pouch, some neat strings available for chord assassination. Jiang Cheng isn't using it in this scene, but he does have Zidian. Even without borrowed swords, it wasn't a bad idea of them to infiltrate the Indoctrination Bureau. There's an entire fic waiting there how they did that. I can already feel the tension in their sudden need to trust each other in several life threatening stealth situations. Tehe~

After retrieving their swords, Zhancheng find themselves staring dramatically at the horizon to discuss their feelings. Jiang Cheng discusses his feelings because he does that all the time. It's all very normal. They match sky for cinematographic purposes, not because my shipping goggles come tinted.

We also learn that Jiang Cheng thought he'd find them all (aka Lan Wangji, Jin Zixuan, and probably Nie Huaisang who fainted and was carried back to dage, and even possibly Wei Wuxian) regrouping in Lanling. So, during the three month timeskip, he did in fact either go there first to get his new robes and help, or directly to the Cloud Recesses, where we last saw Lan Wangji's grand return after missing him dearly for several episodes.

I'm in favour of Jiang Cheng hitchhiking to the Cloud Recesses for simple reasons of it being closer, him having no means to travel without Sandu, and mostly because he reunited with Jiang Yanli only later in Qinghe when she was with Jin Zixuan in Lanling after departing with Song Lan. Obviously also because I wear shipping goggles and want Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji to go purple robe shopping. Which they could also do in Lanling. Many options, much food.

After sharing his worries with Lan Wangji, they are reunited with their swords. Sandu and Bichen are very sad to be separated. Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji look cute together.

Jiang Cheng lets Lan Wangji pull at Wei Wuxian's sword to find it has sealed itself. The utter display of trust and lack of questioning is something people wearing shipping goggles latch on. There is also delicious tragedy in this, because if Jiang Cheng had pulled Suibian now, the Core debacle might have doomed all of them less or more, we'll never find out. What we can find out, after adjusting our shipping goggles, is that this moment can come back to haunt Zhancheng almost twenty years into their future. As if they needed more angst potential.

Zhancheng regroup with their supporting cast on the Unclean Realm's battlefield. Jiang Cheng can finally reunite with his sister, hugging her while Lan Wangji watches like he wants to be hugged like that. Jin Zixuan also regrets not getting any hugs. With the Jiang siblings hugging it out, Lan Wangji can also marvel at Wen Xu's head, taken off by Nie Mingjue. Ah, the delicious fuel to have Lan Wangji of all people look vengeful at someone. Wen Xu broke his leg, burnt his home, murdered his fellow disciples. Lan Wangji could really use a hug right now. Looking at you, Jiang Cheng, not at Jin Zixuan scooting in there.

The best thing about their strategy discussion with Nie Mingjue aside from all the looks Lan Wangji throws at Jiang Cheng is them asking for the same assignment without previous discussion.

Lan Wangji looks delightfully worried about Jiang Cheng's angy moment, but does not have a snickers available. A hug might do. And Jiang Cheng searches for Lan Wangji to look at in his worried moments. Just hug.

Some wordless communication and in sync movement fogs up the shipping goggles. Nie Mingjue also approves of young heroes sticking close together for fighting and comfort. Jin Zixuan almost gets smacked out of the way by Lan Wangji trying to hurry after Jiang Cheng.

Next time we see Jiang Cheng, getting some soup from his sister, it is dark. This can mean many things like they finally had time to take a bath and stop smelling of blood, but they can also have a few lovely fic filler hours together. Tehe~

Next time we see them, Jiang Cheng has also retrieved/recruited some disciples of his own and is allowed to command the Lan disciples, except for Lan Wangji, who has a special spot at his side. The disciples seem very used to Jiang Zongzhu giving commands, they are off like he threw them a treat. Dog trainer Jiang Cheng strikes, I guess. Lan Wangji approves of good displays of leadership.

Sticking close to Jiang Cheng means Lan Wangji can witness the beautiful display of leadership and Zidian usage from the front row. His glance from the side is gasp and giggle worthy for a lost shipper soul like mine. He approves of an efficient, dramatic usage of spiritual weapons.

Their investigation of the reversed talismans not only comes with memorable lines, but another display of standing closer than necessary and trusted words. Their hands almost touched. Jiang Cheng has never heard of reversed talismans, he doesn't know about this, and he isn't afraid to ask for Lan Wangji's opinion and help, which is just melting me like butter in the sun.

Honourable mention to them putting Lan Wangji on a Scully box for this scene to appear giant because his heels didn't seem to have been enough next to Jiang Cheng. Lan Wangji's magically changing height doesn't seem to bother Jiang Cheng. He will be fine with three centimetres smaller Lan Wangji, three centimetres taller Lan Wangji, and Lan Wangji wearing heeled boots to appear taller. He will have to carry him when his little feet hurt, though. Do not go Sunshooting in heels.

Alas, the necessary heartbreak for such legendary love stories! Lan Wangji watched Jiang Cheng return from his confession scene to Wen Qing. Don't be sad, Lan Wangji, he came back to you! The disciples in the back cannot believe the audacity of Jiang Zongzhu giving a comb to somebody else. Bless them being on our side!

The episode then follows our heroes on their travels around Yiling where mysterious murderings hinder the sightseeing but give us more shared looks and words and standing next to each other.

Jiang Cheng has also taught his disciples to bow properly to Lan Wangji and him at the same time, which is very gasp-worthy.

The climax of the Zhancheng episode is approaching, and Jiang Cheng can't wait. Lan Wangji can't quite wait either, touching Jiang Cheng. Lan Wangji often touches people. It is normal.

Zhancheng stake out Wen Zhuliu and Wen Chao from a rooftop spot. They are sitting delightfully close to peek into a tiny hole. Most likely, they just jumped up there without making much of a sound. But how did they find the delightfully useful hole? It's nice sometimes to think about them giving each other a leg-up and then wandering around the shingles in search of the hole. Maybe their shoulders touched.

In times of shock and disgust, find yourself a travelling companion to share the burden.

Sadly, our beloved Sunshooting with Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji episode comes to an end with a devastating break up. Sandu touched Lan Wangji's chest much like Lan Wangji's arm touched Jiang Cheng's chest before. The rift between them grows. Lan Wangji leaves. Jiang Cheng stands up for his family. There was never a happy ending here. But food was served to fight the sadness.

when  he'd  been  told  to  blend  in  with  cowboys  on  a  ranch,  he'd  ..  not  been  unhappy,  really.  his  usual  wardrobe  when  not  working  out  fit  quite  nicely  &  his  cowboy  boots  hadn't  left  his  side  in  years,  so  the  entire  mission  had  seemed  like  a  walk  in  the  park  &  fighting  at  the  end  of  it  only  put  the  so-called  cherry  on  top.  he'd  been  looking  forward  to  it,  actually. 

  then  ...came  the  cars.  how  quickly  he  went  from  relieved  to  have  been  picked  by  someone  to  regretting  his  life  choices  &  wondering  if  he  shouldn't  have  remained  mortal,  because  seriously  -  nobody  should've  had  to  witness  all  he  witnesses,  nor  did  he  want  to  live  with  the  guilt  on  his  back  ..knowing  the  others  died,  because  his  car  took  a  selfish  detour.  thankfully,  everybody  had  been  fine.  but  silas  had  been  stuck  with  that  all  too  familiar  feeling  of  anger  trying  to  slip  past  his  resolve  &  make  a  scene.

  kicking  cowboy  ass  would've  most  likely  fixed  that,  but  after  matai  promised  &  then  denied  him  the  improvement  to  his  weapon  &  he  missed  out  when  it  came  to  pretty  much  everything  else  that  could  help  him  defend  his  hide,  he'd  ...  welcomed  the  ceasefire.  but  someone  he  least  expected  had  ...well,  noticed  him.  he  really  wasn't  good  at  the  whole  magic  thing  yet,  so  everest's  protective  little  barrier  was...  ideal.  they'd  not  spoken  before,  so  he'd  been  under  the  impression  he  was  on  the  bottom  of  that  potential  list.

  so  he  found  him  a  few  days  later;  mostly  to  thank  him,  but  also..  maybe  get  to  know  him  some.  apparently  being  on  good  terms  with  tehe  healers  was  ..good.

  "hey,  uh...  everest..  ain't  it?"  he'd  heard  others  call  him  that  &  he  didn't  think  everest  could  possibly  be  a  fake  name.  well,  it  could  be,  but  still.  "i  know  i  didn't  get  t'use  it,  but..."  this  was  so  not  easy,  he  was   clearly  struggling  with  what  came  next..   "i  guess  i  jus'  wanted  to  say  ..  ."  deep  breath.  calm  dwon.  "thanks.  i'm  silas  by  the  way."

Tendou makes his feelings known about everything, albeit in his own funky way sometimes. it makes it easier for you to follow his lead and rest assured you can say what's on your mind.

even you don't feel comfortable voicing your feelings, Tendou wasn't known as Guess Monster for nothing. he has incredibly high intuition which means he learns howbto read you quite fast.

he also has a lot to say (whether or nor the matter is important) so it's nice you're a good listener. it makes him happy to have someone pay attention to what he's saying instead of finding him annoying or creepy :')

he rants to you about manga at least two times a week, then you rant back about the series you've read. even better if you're talking about the same series.

he would definitely dote on you and be your personal, self-declared, protector from awkward situations. the type of boyfriend to order for the both of you at a fast-food place or a Starbucks ♡︎

no getting around the fact that you will be teased (lovingly). i don't make the rules, sorry: you get Tendou you get playful teasing for free! expect your nose to be booped, getting glomped at random times and tons of silly nicknames as well!

he will cackle in the background as you're being blunt to someone, especially if they get annoyed about it but know you're in the right. he really appreciates your honesty.

then again, this boi will also melodramadically clench his chest the moment you call him out on something dumb he did smh.

Tendou knows well what's it like being bullied so he doesn't blame you for pending up your emotions. he understands and he wants to be there if you ever feel like talking about it.

he makes sure you know he's there for you should you need him. mostly he hints it with his actions but from time-to-time he will also ask directly if you want to talk or go murder a person to help you feel better.

it was already past midnight yet one particular street in town was bustling with life.

more specifically, there was a long line starting from one of the biggest bookstores running for at least a few blocks down. the reason for this was of course one of your favourite mangaka doing a signing and you absolutely had to get their autograph!

unfortunately, many, many others also had made it their mission to get their favourite volume signed, thus the camping outside the bookstore to get theirs guaranteed.

you had gotten a pretty good spot pretty much in the beginning of the line. the wait was almost over too, you were excited!

at some point, you took out your earphones to let your ears rest. however, instead you heard a discussion that made you cringe.

a couple talked about how the guy in front of them (and originally behind you) had been away in the bathroom way too long so they were conspiring to take his spot for their own.

"you can't do that," you straight out told them before wondering what you could even actually do to stop them. they were much taller, more intimidating.

as you'd expected, they didn't flinch and just raised their chins. it made your will crumble and crawl into a hole. "what does it matter to you?"

"sorry, coming through! that's my spot!" out of nowhere a tall figure forced itself between you and the imposing couple. it was a guy with strikingly red hair, and a chocolate ice-cream in his hand. "the 24h convince stores are just so far these days. not very convenient, wouldn't you say?"

you cracked a smile: not only at his dumb joke but also the way the couple immediately backed off at the menacing hint in the guy's voice. he knew exactly what they were up to.

then, something you didn't expect, he turned to you with a grin. "thanks for defending my spot. i saw it all unfold from afar. seesh, i'm glad some people still have courtesy!"

now you couldn't help but laugh at how he craned his neck, very pointedly referring to a certain two. amused, you introduced yourself. he, in turn, introduced himself as Tendou Satori.

the rest of the wait didn't feel like a wait at all. time passed all too quickly as Tendou swept you along with his jokes, expressions and rants. you were surprised you hadn't noticed him right behind you before.

you talked a lot about manga at first because it was a comfortable topic, but soon Tendou noticed you clearly had a lot more to say than you let on.

from that meeting onwards, he knew he wanted to become closer to you.

because he really wanted to be smooth and cool in front you but you didn't seem to notice the slightest. still, he recovered quite fast and just gave up trying to act out of character. good for him because you liked him better that way anyhowdies :D

he just did it because he was afraid you'd reject him otherwise, cause most girls have found him strange in the past :')

now Tendou ironically(?) kabedons you and tries to play the pocky game with you whenever he spots the chance.

very upfront now that he knows to be blunt, will run up to you with a pack of chocolate pocky and sing "Mar Mar, let's play, let's playyy!"

when you play video games together he often manages to make it a competition over something dumb

one time you won him in a shooting game and he had to (by his own rules) create a YT channel and post a video every single day for the next week.

boy legit did it, most of them about volleyball, manga, or chocolate. albeit he did convince you to do some couple challenges with him as well. these were the most popular videos because the viewers loved your dynamic ♡︎

the channel became surprisingly popular so the both of you actually continued it with pranks and more challenges until you got tired of it. it was fun as a temporary hobby tho!

"we could've been famous but we just ain't about that life" Tendou explains sagely to anyone who asks and you roll your eyes in the background because you love him cause he's the biggest absolute dork.

no joke he probably runs on energy drinks too, so it's not unusual for you to have sleepovers to study or just to watch anime and muder documentaries.

sometimes though you have to pit a hand over his mouth because he scene is too exciting and he's screaming and clinging to you.

thanks to these dates though, Tendou has discovered he falls asleep much easier when he's with you. of course, maybe there's something he can do for you to help you better too?

his limbs have gotten tangled in yours every time you've cuddled. idk if you think that's a good or a bad thing but Tendou is certainly having a good time being so close to you :3

dude bro reblogs most of the stuff you post/reblog on tumblr. also sends you on-anon inside jokes and cursed memes. you claim you have no idea who it is though he knows you know it's him.

organises the most amazing planetarium date the moment you say you've always wanted to go! boy is creative af so you'll have a blast!!

Tendou's jokes had gone too far but you couldn't tell him that.

it was just harmless teasing and he didn't mean it. still, the fact that he couldn't go a day without making a mean comment was starting to get on your nerves. he really had sardonic humour.

you kept it all to yourself, however, and went along with his wild ideas. mostly it was fun, the banter and jabs, but more and more things began to gradually irk you about his actions. why was his voice suddenly so loud? you'd never minded it before and even found it nice.

one morning though he ran up to you on the campus, full of life as always.

"good morning, Mariii! didn't sleep well tonight, huh? those dark circles are worse than the time Tsukomu tried on eyeliner."

you didn't think about it much, but it was too early in to morning for him to make fun of your efforts the previous night. you'd stayed up until the morning hours to finish an important essay that was due for today.

you didn't think about it, no, soyour reply came automatically:

"shut up already. geez, you're such a monster."

Tendou was about to throw his arms around you but halted not at your words but at the smile you were clearly struggling to hold.

he took a step backwards, seeing you were irritated. despite the wound from your retort, he tried one more time, in hopes to cheer you up even a little.

"wow, someone got off on the wrong side of the bed~"

and you walked away, too tired and annoyed to say anything.

Tendou was hurt and confused, left wondering what he said wrong since you hadn't minded his weird jokes before. and you were stuck ignoring him, overriden with thinking he was the only one at fault.

you can go on for days or weeks like this, depending on who approaches the other first. it will likely be Tendou because he wants to know if you're feeling better. he knows you didn't mean it.

still, if you ignore his approaches long enough, he might come to you weeks later with a different kind of talk.

Tendou is most fond of the memories where you are laughing together. for instance, the time you went to see his volleyball practice and he smugly said: "the next block is for Mari!" and he ended up missing the block. you almost teared up from laughter while his teammates mercilessly called him out on how lame he was. nevertheless, Tendou said it again and did and awesome black that time. afterwards as you were walking home he tried all sorts of tricks to cover up his first mishap. in the end, he settled the score and proof of his feelings with ice-cream and smooches ♡︎

how fun you and honest you are! you accept Tendou as he is and laugh with him. where as he has a slightly roundabout way of doing things, you are blunt and straight to the point which really draws him to you ♡︎

Chapter 1 - The New Girl

Genre - a tad angst, the lightest pinch of fluff and a handful of sensual activity 😉 and it’s graphic! I like a bit of detail 😂

Word count - 932

Summery - Nct. The biggest gang in town. Not a single person would dare to ever show up against them - not even the fbi. Trained from young ages to be brutal and kill on command. However, they attend school.

What you couldn’t get right is why, why do they do this to you? You can’t even remember what you did wrong to them. They just choose to torture you.

Authors note - this is my first ff, I’ll try to not break any rules (don’t think tumblr has any???) but the story does include bullying, harassment, pain and torture (in some ways) - please if u find any of these triggering do not read!! Ty

At first sight the school looked promising. It was nicely displayed and the roads didn’t have any pot holes - what more could you want in a school. At least it didn’t look like a child prison - just like your last school. You could see everyone hanging out in groups, having fun and smiling; it looked like the perfect school!

“Drop me off here mum, I think I’ll be fine!” You said to your mum who was driving you in through the gates. “Why? Can’t I drop my daughter off right by the school where EVERYONEE can see how beautiful she is?” She replied, smirking as she pulls right up to a group of girls. “Oh my god! Mum no drive off!!!” You squeal as the girls outside wonder why the car pulled up to them so frantically. You duck down quickly so that they don’t see you and wait for them to walk along.

“I’m going now mum, bye!” You say, jumping out of the car before it was too late. “Go get em boy-“ she tries to cut in before u slam the door shut and laugh. She then rolls down the window, gives u a smile and drives off. Damn you love your mum, you tell her everything and u wouldn’t keep a word from her. That’s how close your mother/daughter relationship was.

Now you could see everything clearly, all the girls were pretty, wearing short skirts and have long hair. The boys all looked like models with pale porcelain skin and mostly dark hair. Not a single one of them was out of place - but you were.

It took you a moment to realise, you were wearing skinny jeans rather than a skirt, your shirt wasn’t tucked in and your hair was not as long and lushous as the others. It made you feel vulnerable as you walked to the office and noticed people looking at you wierdly. Surprisingly time hit faster that light, and by the time you got your schedule and books, everyone was already in first period - “great start y/n. Late on the first day” You mutter to yourself, but it couldn’t be helped.

It didn’t take you long to get close to your class, just a couple of wrong turns. You were just about to open the classroom c4’s door when you hear a scream. Subconsciously you turn and go towards the scream.

4 boys stood there, unidentifiable to the darkness. You stand there and look at the girl, her bottom lip covered in blood.

“Didn’t we tell you not to try run away last time?”

What? Who does he think he is?!

“Next time... we won’t hesitate”

He grabbed her chin softly, then raised his arm to slap her-

“Let her go!” You yell, yanking his arm. It hit you when you realised he didn’t even budge. You gulped as he just glared at u. he wasn’t someone to mess with.

“Look at this ten, a new girl.” A boy behind you said.

“Yeah, she’s a fighter.” Ten says sarcastically, mocking your attempt at stopping him.

“I think we should have a little fun with her instead” the 3rd boy said, leaning against the lockers.

You hesitated to move, gaining some strength and looking ten in the eye. “I’m not scared of u.” You try to be as confident as you could but it’s hard when your voice cracked at “scared”, making it very obvious you were lying.

“Mai, your free. We’ll play with ur protector now instead if that’s fine with u” he said, looking down to the girl. She nods frantically and runs. Your now alone with these boys; they could do anything to you. There was no light way to take the situation. You could be murdered right there and then. Infact, you’ve noticed one of the 4 boys hasn’t said anything. He’s just staring at you like a hawk.

“Now pet, what’s your pretty name then?” Ten says approaching you slowely. You didn’t reply. He starts to get closer, with each step he makes you take a step back; Fear overwhelming you. You quickly feel the lockers against ur spine and ten makes no longer than a second to block u from running with his arms. “I asked u a question pet. Now answer it.” He spoke with a strong voice; You could tell he was in charge around here.

You gave in, “y/n...” he scoffs with a smirk on his face. “Woah, what a pretty name on an ugly slag” ten says, the boys laughing at his comment. You wanted to say “oh shut up, at least my name isn’t a number” but surprisingly only the last part came out. The boys stop laughing and glare at you. “What? Do you want to die!” He shouts, slamming his hand into the locker beside your head making you scream.

“Your lucky I’ve lost my appetite, you better watch your back.” He warns before leading the boys off. The last boy who didn’t contribute stops briefly as he’s walking past. He just looks at u with the most eyeballing look you’ve ever seen. You wanted to ask him who he was, but nothing came out. You both just looked at each other. However he was the first to break the eye contact and continue walking quickly after it began.

You fall to the floor shaking, “watch your back? Appetite? Is he a psychopath?” You say to urself. Your thoughts flying everywhere. Who are they? Why was that boy so quiet? And how many of them are there?
