S1e3 rewatch new observation:

LG sits in three places this episode: CXS's bed, the brown chair, and after the Basketball Captain's foot breaks, he moves to the green chair (where he stays for the rest of the episode). At first, the chair swapping felt random to me-- but there must be a reason they bothered to animate it. I doubt it's an animation error since it actually shows him getting into the green chair. He's also shown cleaning during this episode so is this chair swap another demonstration of how he gets drained quickly and can't manage to stay standing up for long?

Started another Link Click rewatch! Each time I rewatch I notice some new little details. Here's some from s1e1 I picked up on this time:

LG has little slippers that he takes off before he climbs the ladder to the top bunk

LG puts his feet on the table while reading and waiting for the moment CXS has to sabotage the meeting (this goes for about 40min, which is why CXS is so antsy)

Oh look! more LG being beautiful

LG asks "Are you still angry with me?" when they are on the couch after the mission, a large space between them, leaning apart. The news report says the data was revealed "yesterday." So did CXS spend the whole of April 17th angry at LG? What part was he angry about? LG withholding the plan/details? Cause when CXS responds he says "Nah they deserved it." which implies the fight could've been around the morality of the mission as well (and CXS has just thought more about it since the previous day)

Both of them are being so silly, their legs pointed in, their torsos pointed away, CXS trying to sneak looks at LG.

what was the old photo studio named? been after cxs’s parents?

Hi Anon! It was called Hero Photo Studio (英雄照相馆) :) I think we only see the name in s1e10 when QL is talking about CXS's childhood.

The name shows up in the artbook as well

It's a curious name for sure. Did CXS's parents also have powers? Then again, I think I may have seen somewhere it was just a reference to another of Director Li's and Studio LAN's works (To Be Hero).

I could see it going either way: on one hand, Hero is a common word, especially in cartoons as a genre. On the other, Donghua loves making references to other Donghua (there are at least 2 donghua that make explicit Link Click references and the chibi shorts for Link Click reference a lot of Chinese pop-culture elements. Heck, CXS even mentions in s1e4 that he learned slam dunking from "videos on bilibili", which is the streaming platform Link Click airs on.)

s1e2 detail I never noticed before:

They named their original shop a portmanteau of their names, but when they rebranded to XGM, Lin Zhen left... to open a Xia Lin Noodle Shop in Xia Yu's hometown, where she waited to welcome XY home. brb sobbing forever

I was always too focused on the other parallels to Shiguang in this episode to pick up on the shop name before. It's so sweet it hurts. :,)

I've been working all weekend on doing Lu Guang POV for my most recent fic, and I think I ended up spending more time on formatting than prose. It's been a wild, fun ride. Still have not decided if LG POV will go be the next chapter or if I'm gonna just throw it in its own island on AO3. It's an optional read, and the style may be different enough that it'll be too jarring for folks following CXS for so long, but I also don't think the current version of this stands without all the information in the fic. I've never written a fic this long! it's wild. Anyway, I was pretty proud of this section, so I figured I'd share it here for anyone who'd wanna see it, regardless of what happens with this chapter~
