Second Trimester~
Pros:
My appetite is way better! Not that feeling hungry was really the issue before, but I can finally do something about it and eat when I want to!
We are timing our announcement as Christmas gifts for the grandparents, so hopefully after this I can be more open about needing help.
Baby is growing well!
Energy levels are better. I can be more independent and not burden my partner so much/ do things for myself.
Some supplies for the baby came in the mail! We picked up two baby gates and a bassinet because they were half off. It feels really nice to interact with baby things. Sometimes it feels too early, but also I want to take advantage of sales or get things done while I have the energy.
Cons:
My si pain has been out of control. I’ve been wearing a tensor belt and doing some exercises for it, but it’s still hard to walk. Like, at all. I had trouble getting from the bed to the bathroom. My leg gives out.
My city/ province has gone into a full lockdown (which is a good thing and should have been done sooner) but it makes it so hard to be pregnant. Not to mention this extra level of background stress as rates get so bad, because worst case scenario hospitals are not an option.
Also not totally pregnancy related, but covid has found its way into my family and I’m so scared. It’s literally the worst of us to get it. I’m so scared and angry.
Also tangentially related (but I feel like these stresses count because trying to keep from letting stress effect the pregnancy... is getting harder): Our roof is leaking! We had the slightest thaw yesterday and last night a drip started in the bedroom. I don’t want to get into it, but our condo board refuses to act and legal help is too expensive, but also we can’t take care of it ourselves because the exterior/ roof is condo board purview.
Also I’m an idiot who decided to start a masters degree while pregnant and I have to finish my last assignment of the term and an application... and I just can’t do it. Every time I start working, I have a panic attack. It’s like everything crashes down at once. I almost passed out yesterday trying to force myself. I don’t really know what’s going on.
Symptom! Despite drinking prune juice, eating tons of fiber, not eating anything unless I consider the effect on my ..gut, drinking lots of water, drinking restorolax, drinking a full black coffee (at my midwife’s suggestion), and a number of other home remedies everyday... I’m so constipated. My record so far is not passing anything for at least 9 days.
I think something else is going on with that last one but the midwife just says “not pregnancy related. Talk to your gp” and my gp says “it’s because you’re pregnant”, passing the buck back and forth. It’s also an embarrassing problem to try and get help for...

Daily Doodle 115 – August 9, 2018
It took us a while to figure out how to operate even the doors..
The car was pretty gosh darn fancy though!
Today I woke up a bit later, Pixie was still sleeping and I didn’t know at what time I had to go down to the city. I got on my PC later and once he woke up, I asked him when I’d go down. The plans for today were different but I’d go down regardless
I headed down, refueled and got to his house. Once there, I waited until he arrived from sorting some stuff with the school, then we took the Miata for a spin. It behaved fine but sounded like a sprinkler when we were done driving. Anyways, we then took my car to get myself breakfast, then go to the Walmart where I got out along to buy some supplies for Pixie, then buying lunch for him as well
We then headed home to spent a bit more of the day, watching him play Rayman. A bit later we left to his school to sort some more school uniform stuff, then head home to test drive the Miata once more. Pix wanted to take the car somewhere in the city but I asked him if he was sure cuz I didn’t trust it.. So we then just drove around until we got home, the sprinkler-like sound was much louder and turns out it wasn’t air related like we thought, it was with the tensors for the timing belt. Guess one got damaged cuz of the problem we had last time.. Ugh
Anyways, we then drove to Pixie’s dad’s workplace to pick up his car since he wanted us to check an issue with his tire. I left my car there and we took his car.. Well, Pixie had to park it to figure out how to operate the door locks, then the mirrors and adjusting the seats. Absolutely everything was motorized and kinda confusing. He eventually figured it out and I got inside. We then had to take the car to a tire repair shop
This car was pretty fancy and doing a better job at cooling us with the AC than my car, it was an extremely hot day! Back to the car, it was so quiet inside too!! I liked it
At the tire repair shop, we got told that the issue was actually the rim and he’d have to take it somewhere else. We got the spare tire installed and took the car back. We switched the cars again and drove home in mine
We only stopped real quick at home to get my GameCube and drive to that small and cool game store nearby. We checked if the GameCube worked aaaand it didn’t rotate the discs.. The controller ports worked fine as well as displaying and power, but it couldn’t read games if they didn’t spin! Anyways, Pixie traded a GameCube game I never touched anyway for GTA 4 for his Xbox One. We then drove home once again
At home we just spent a few hours watching videos and installing the game. I had messaged my bro earlier and he told me he’d have another way to go to work without needing my car.. Sadly, sometime later that plan didn’t work and he did need my car now. This upset Pixie and I quickly had to go home to leave my car
I quickly made it home and settled down on my PC again. My bro later came back from working with his broken car, he showed me the issue and it’s.. VERY bad, they need to replace the whole engine block.. AGAIN! They had to do it once while I was the driver of that old car, now they have to do it again.. So unreliable
The rest of the night was uneventful, just me being bored chatting and stuff. I was tired, I wrote the doodle but also needed to doodle, so I drew it and zzz

'Forgive me,' says the tensor, cool as ice. 'I've overridden your locks. I'm afraid you'll have to stay put until we reach out destination. But I thought you'd be more comfortable out here than in the brig. I have snacks, if you're hungry.' Snacks! What does he think this is, a blazing pleasure cruise? 'You don't understand!' I shout. 'I have to save my friend! She's a prisoner on Alexandrine.' 'In these skies, everyone's trying to save someone.' He opens a cabinet and pulls out waters. Crossing to us, he offers us each a bottle. Pol refuses, but I take mine, drink it, then spit on the floor. Even in the worst of circumstances I still have a petty streak as wide as the Belt. The tensor sighs and holds out a hand. The water rises, weightless, and he holds out the bottle. This time, only a few spidery black lines creep from his eyes. When he releases the liquid, it falls gracefully back inside. 'You could have just said "no, thank you."'

Michelle Casbon at Scale By the Bay: “I love being steeped in so much Scala expertise”
Tumblr media
A Senior Engineer on the Google Cloud Platform Developer Relations team, Michelle Casbon focuses on open source contributions and community engagement for machine learning and big data tools. Before that, she built and shipped machine learning products on distributed platforms using both AWS and Google Cloud Platform within her Senior Engineer and Director of Data Science roles at several San Francisco-based startups.
In advance of “Data Engineering and AI” panel discussion at Scale By the Bay on November 16 where Michelle is speaking alongside Richard Socher (Salesforce), Lukas Biewald (Weights and Biases), Ruchir Puri (IBM), Pete Skomoroch (Workday) and Peter Bailis (Sisu and Stanford CS), we spoke to Michelle about her developer journey, the hardest challenges of scale and the upcoming panel discussion at Scale By the Bay.
How did your data work lead you through the startups of Silicon Valley to Google? It turns out, building Machine Learning (ML) applications is hard. At Idibon, I spent my time building them on AWS. At Qordoba, I tried out Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and discovered Kubernetes Engine, which helped tremendously. As soon as I heard about Kubeflow, I was on board. It was exactly what I needed instead of building ML apps from scratch. I love that I can contribute to the project with a decade of data engineering under my belt because engineers who build platforms don't always have that perspective and really value it.
What did you learn about ML/NLP adoption along the way? There is a ton of interest, both from the business and engineering sides, but it's still very challenging to pull off. Tooling in the space has been very low-level, which isn't conducive to training new developers or maintaining production code over time. It's something that needs to change, similarly to the way higher-level tools were developed for traditional software development. As tooling in the space improves, we will see much more adoption of ML.
How does Google Cloud Platform help you and what are the hardest challenges of scale? When I was building ML products from scratch, I really appreciated the bootstrapping that I got in GCP. So many best practices are baked into the Kubernetes framework, which meant that I didn't have to spend time defining them. I was blown away at the declarative yaml approach to deploying predictive models and Kubernetes Engine meant that I didn't have to maintain a cluster of distributed compute nodes. These paradigms are foundational to Kubeflow, which makes a lot of sense to me. The idea is that the framework does the hard work of distributing training and packaging disparate components together, which keeps application code simple.
Another important aspect is access to hardware accelerators like Tensor Processing Units (TPUs). GCP provides the hardware & Kubeflow makes it easier to use that hardware from within application code. And because Kubeflow supports any hardware configuration that runs Kubernetes, you can run the same application within GCP, locally, or on another cloud (sans TPUs). These are the hardest challenges of scale: keeping application code simple, maintaining it over time, and retaining flexibility in terms of physical environment.
You’ve been at our Data events and now this is the Engineering one. How do you see these two cultures, Data Science (ML/AI) and Software Engineering work together at GCP? What’s your advice to a data scientist who needs web-scale performance and software engineering chops to solve their problems? Tools and APIs on GCP are designed to deliver best practices by default. There are fundamental building blocks like computing, storage, and event streaming, but GCP really shines when it comes to ML tooling. These are the shortcuts that make it possible to build ML products quickly and maintain them more easily over time. My advice is to use a managed service or high-level API whenever possible and automate everything else. A good CI/CD setup means that data scientists can focus on the code and everything after a PR merge is deployed automatically. Projects like Kubeflow that support this type of workflow are where I see the two sides coming together, especially since you can combine managed services and from-scratch models in any combination.
What’s the most exciting for you about the AI panel? I love the combination of panelists. Lukas & Pete (Lukas Biewald and Pete Skomoroch - note from the editor) are two people that I've looked up to for years and always enjoy spending time with. I've learned many things from them over the years.
What do you like about By the Bay community and what are you looking forward to the most? I love being steeped in so much Scala expertise. It's inspiring! I'm most looking forward to hearing the types of challenges people have in building ML pipelines. I can't wait to see how these problems have evolved and what some of the newer ones are.
Also, it's always great to hear Martin Odersky in real-time at 1x speed!
Do not miss Michelle Casbon at “Data Engineering and AI” panel discussion at Scale By the Bay conference at Twitter HQ in San Francisco on November 16. Last few tickets are available, so book yours now.

The Best Supercharger Kit for the Yamaha YXZ1000R is Released
Tumblr media
Agency Power has just built one of the best supercharger kits on the market for the Yamaha YXZ1000R.  After a year of development and testing, this new supercharger upgrade is the perfect bolt-on application to take your YXZ1000R from 110hp to 160hp!  Not only do we show you how much quicker it is than stock, but we review the engineering benefits of the supercharger system.
To develop this kit, Agency Power started with a roots supercharger at the core of the system. The supercharger components were engineered not only for gaining power but designed with fit and finish of OEM or factory quality parts. This includes finished components in black powder coat, black anodized billet parts with laser etched AP logos, and a high quality roto-molded intake manifold. The aluminum intake and charge tubes allow the custom blow off valve to re-circulate the excess air when throttle pressure is released. Agency Power’s dry, oil less air filters uses nano-technology which further filters the harmful air particles from off-road use, while improving air flow.  Each filter is designed for easy cleaning between rides. The intake has a specially designed aluminum shield to protect the air filter from further elements while riding and reduce potential heat soak giving optimal air flow to the supercharger. To further provide the best air quality for off-road use, Agency Power has created custom Outerwear brand pre-filter covers made specifically for the intake filter. Further protection for those that ride in muddy terrain is our aluminum belt shield. This is designed to keep debris away from the supercharger belt system. Each belt shield securely bolts in place to provide maximum coverage while looking OEM in textured black powder coating. Our custom ECU tuning has been done to be safe, reliable, and powerful. Customers have the option to mail in their ECU where we bench flash the new tuned file to your ECU. As an upgraded option, you can purchase the FTECU cable kit where you can flash your ECU through the diagnostic port. This also allows those with the technical ability to have full control of adjusting all your vehicles parameters including fuel, timing, and limiters. The custom ECU calibrations were developed for the different years and transmissions offered in the YXZ1000R. Each kit comes with everything you need to install on your Yamaha YXZ1000R less fluids such as oil and coolant. Once installed, the Agency Power Supercharger Kit elevates your Yamaha YXZ1000R to another level!
On the 2017 model, our baseline test gave us a peak HP gain of 79 rear wheel horsepower.  From 7300rpm to 10000rpm, the car began to full flat on its face.  So much of the vehicles potential power was lost.  Running competitors standard ECU flashes from well known companies, this averaged a gain of only 4 rear wheel horsepower through the mid to top end.  But when you compare the AP supercharger run, you see it skyrocket to 107rwhp.  We were also able to test this same car with the actual Packard supercharger kit.  Utilizing the same blower but different piping and blow off valve design, one of the main differences was they use an external fuel controller.  The Agency Power supercharger actually gain a peak of 4rwhp more on the top and maintained this gain throughout the lower RPMs.  Both these supercharger comparison tests have boost pressure averaging 4psi and peaking out at around 5.5psi.
The 2016 model had a baseline of 77rwhp and with the AP supercharger kit peaked at 112rwhp.  Boost averaged around 4-5psi peaking at the end at 6.4psi due to our production blow off valve designed not on initial dyno tests of the 2017.  The major difference between this run and the 2017 was the use of the 28 inch Tensor tires.  Doing a back to back run with the same vehicle but switching the wheels/tires out, the 30 inch stock Bighorn tires actually robbed the vehicle of almost 10rwhp.
With our 3 test vehicles, we were able to maintain performance gains and show the value of the products compared to a simple ECU flash or our competitors supercharger system.  With over 1000 miles of actual testing, the safety and reliability makes this Agency Power supercharger kit a perfect upgrade for the Yamaha YXZ1000R.

Muscles Only Take it easy When the Mind Says So
What is a knot? A knot is when the sufferer feels tension, and achieving his hand to touch the place, he feels a elevated lump of muscle.
What is the lump made of? If he rubs it back again and forth, it feels crunchy, as if there were some material in there. This crunching has direct numerous to guess that there are “calcium crystals” in there. When this impression is considered, clearly the way to treatment the knot would be to “break up the crystals.” This demands “stripping,” “breaking,” and normally mechanical forces from outside the entire body to “tenderize” the meat of the muscle tissue, like 1 of those picket mallets utilised by thrifty cooks to tenderize less expensive cuts of beef. Of course, right after mechanical drive is applied from outside, he feels sore the following working day. This is why he is advised to “consume heaps of water.” But what if a knot is not made of crunchy crystals?
I believe that a knot is almost nothing but sleek muscle, elevated to a wrinkle mainly because it is pulling so hard. It is like rope that you twist and twist, until eventually eventually the fibers kink in the middle.
Why do I feel this? Any muscle will soften in seconds when the person’s mind improvements its thoughts. Immediately after 30 seconds of softening, when I rub the muscle back again and forth, there is no additional crunching. If there were crystals there, wherever did they go? If no person broke any crystals, how did they soften?
If in its place, knots are only muscle fibers kinked from tension, then when the mind stops signaling it to “pull”, the kink by natural means flattens out without any mechanical drive from outside.
The awesome thing about soothing muscle tissue from inside, is that there will be no soreness afterward. There will be soreness right after “crystal breaking” or any mechanical drive supposed to break one thing in the muscle. When you intend to break one thing, one thing will break! Soreness incorporates bruising of the pores and skin, bruising of the muscle, and very little bits of damaged muscle fiber. Of course you need to have to consume additional water for a few days that the immune method wants to clean up up the damaged fibers and mend the bruises. On the other hand, when muscle tissue unwind from inside, there is no need to have to consume additional water mainly because almost nothing was damaged.
How do muscle tissue unwind?
Muscles reply only to mind selections. (Nicely, that is generally genuine. There are mini-brains in the spine that can also sign muscle tissue to agreement or unwind quickly. But right after the spinal reflex is finished, the muscle will return to the past recommendations the mind gave.) Muscles unwind for good only when the mind commands them to unwind.
In the absence of new signals from the mind, muscle tissue will go on to do as they were accomplishing. Muscles will actively agreement (or “guard”), working day and night time, even right after death, if this was the past command heard from the mind. (for this purpose, animals who know they are about to be killed tense up, and the meat–which is only muscle–will however be contracting when it gets to your plate, you will be eating millions of “tense up” molecular messengers sent from the animal’s past feelings to its muscle tissue.)
We need to have to determine out what the mind needs, so that it will pick to unwind.
Below is what does not operate: Lengthening muscle tissue by drive. The mind knows that drive is remaining utilised and so it will subconsciously pick to relent quickly, returning to its prior tension configurations by the time the particular person wakes the following early morning. Even worse, the mind now subconsciously mistrusts whomever utilised drive to overcome its guard.
How To Invoke The Mind To Take it easy The Entire body
If we want the mind to freely pick relaxation, then it are not able to be pressured to transform.
Rather of forcing transform, why not agree with the mind? When you locate you can not rotate your head to the left, do not drive it! Flip your head to the simple way. Contract frivolously in the directions of comfort and ease for about twenty seconds then step by step allow it return to neutral. Do this a few situations a working day. If your entire body needs to go into a curled or bent placement when you rest, let the entire body to go wherever it needs and assistance it. Get into a pool and allow the entire body bend and curl in any direction it needs.
When it feels it has been heard, the mind feels honored that another person has taken the time to hear without judging the guarding as lousy. It feels supported that another person is on its side and really needs to help its approach.
How Does It Operate?
When the mind sees that its limbs, joints and muscle tissue are in the fullest contortion of guarding, (one thing takes place inside and) the guarding releases like magic. What transpired? It’s possible the mind has a feeling of humor and essential to see how silly the guarding genuinely seemed when it was permitted to do what it prepared. It’s possible the most guarded placement is a mystery key that unlocks the double-lock vault wherever the tension was at first saved. It’s possible it is just a playful time that will allow the mind and entire body to lighten up. It’s possible the symbolism of guarding as significantly as 1 can go, wears out the initial command and it simply just operates out of steam. Likely all of the previously mentioned and additional good reasons also.
The Great importance Of Immediate Feed-back
Each muscle treatment method I give, I question the particular person, “Hey this muscle is softening, do you come to feel it?” Prior to the question, her mind experienced monitored relaxation only subconsciously. When a particular person has ample ordeals noticing her individual muscle tissue unwind, she gains aware impact around her individual muscle tension. Before long ample, she no extended wants outside aid from a massage therapist, she can unwind her individual muscle tissue from inside, all by herself.
Complaints That Profit From Invoking Mind To Take it easy Muscles
(make sure you comprehend I am not a Health practitioner, I am not licensed to diagnose, and I am not expressing that any disorder would be “treated.”) Leisure From In just Assists With:
Growing older (triggers PNS parasympathetic anxious method) gives back again a long time of good quality residing, much healthier pores and skin, nails, hair, far better digestion, lower coronary heart rate, far better blood pressure, lower stress, deeper respiratory, and so forth.
Asthma, Allergy symptoms, Histamine Reactions, Chemical Sensitivity, Hyper Sensitivities
Athletes: those distinct cramps at mile 22, very low back again discomfort for black belts (psoas muscle), Tendinitis (unwind the muscle hooked up to that tendon), Tennis Elbow, Golfer’s Elbow, and so forth.
Atlas and Axis: by soothing obliquus inferior and top-quality muscle tissue that were jamming these two joints
Mind: TBI mind injuries, Stroke, MS, ALS, Encephalitis, Lyme, and so forth. (by boosting mind-muscle conversation, intra-mind conversation is improved)
Dancers (psoas)
Emotional Launch (launch not in outbursts, but step by step and continuously leaks away, a light rivulet of launch), PTSD, “Shell Shock,” vehicle incident trauma, big surgical procedures (traumatization can reside for many years right after anesthesia and surgical procedures), earlier lifetime trauma (encapsulated in pearl grey capsules in the hippocampus and medulla oblongata, controlled by the centrum and the cerebellum)
Exhaustion, CFS, Fibromyalgia, Candida, and so forth. (lowering muscle tension without the following-working day soreness, ends the discomfort-spasm-discomfort loop)
Hip Rotators and Shoulder Rotator Cuff (tendons mend a lot quicker when no extended beneath tension from muscle tissue)
Irritable Bowel or Lousy Digestion (colon has spiral muscle tissue that need to have to unwind to transfer the food stuff smoothly and efficiently)
I-T band (which is the prevalent tendon of the Tensor Fascia Latte and Gluteus Maximus muscle tissue)
Work-Connected Injuries, Tension, Overuse Injuries, Tendinitis, Carpal Tunnel (additional very likely wrist extensors), Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, tingling in the fingers, numbness, (pectoralis minimal, scalenes, atlanto/axial joint, subscapularis), Sciatica, Bursitis, discomfort down the leg, numbness or tingling in the foot (piriformis, pectineus, TFL) (muscle tension restricts vein, artery and nerve circulation)
Small Again Agony: (unwind the lumbar sidebenders and psoas)
Lumbar Rotation, from time to time diagnosed as rotoscoleosis: (restricted psoas muscle can rotate lumbar spine)
Type “A” individuality, SNS (sympathetic anxious method) always on, “Combat Or Flight,” Adrenaline Junkie, Substantial Blood Strain, Hypertension, Cold Hands and Toes, Sweaty Palms, Stress and anxiety, Tongue Tied, Butterflies In Belly, and so forth.
Yoga Practitioners and Teachers: overstretching injuries, very low back again discomfort (psoas,) loss of hip medial rotation (piriformis also restricted, TFL also weak)

What Can You Do About Tight Hip Flexors, Stretch, or Strengthen?
If you experience tight flexor muscles, then you know how much it tends to be unsettling. Don’t you hate it when your hips feel tight every time you do lower body exercises like deadlift and squat? Constantly wondering whether you need to stretch, strengthen, or both doesn’t help the struggle either.
Poking around the internet doesn’t also help because all the conflicting opinions tend to confuse you even more. Some sources blame tight hip flexors on too much sitting expressing that it shortens and weakens the muscles. There is also a large group of people who blame weightlifting and some exercises. There are those who even say that muscle weakness is the primary cause of tight hip flexors.
It’s only natural to wonder whom you should believe or what you should do to fix the problem. However, the reality is that hip flexor tightness is not so cut and dried. There are, however, specific solutions that can fix it, we will discuss them in this article. But first…..
What is Hip Flexors?
They are a group of muscles found around the top of the thighs. They connect the upper leg and the hip. Hip flexors are involved in almost every kind of movement your lower body is engaged in, including deadlifts, squats, bench presses and overhead presses.
The primary hip flexors include rectus femoris, iliopsoas, Sartorius, pectineus, Tensor fasciae latae, adductor brevis, adductor longus, and gracilis. All these flexor muscles create flexion in the hip which is why they are called hip flexors.
Flexion is the term for the bending movement around joints in limbs like elbow or knee that helps decrease the angle between the limb bones at the joint.
So What Causes Hip Flexors?
The most common theory is that sitting happens to be the most significant cause of hip flexors. This is because sitting tightens the flexion muscles by forcing them to remain shortened for long periods of time. However, there is also another theory that overusing the muscles also results in tight hip flexors.
The assumption is that the more you participate in an intense exercise like weightlifting, you punish the muscles and hence increase the chances of the muscles becoming and remaining tight. There is also the general assumption by most people that both factors cause tight hip flexors.
These factors are, however, not entirely true. For example, the idea that sitting can temporarily or permanently shorten your hip flexors opposes the physiological fact that muscle can only become smaller or bigger, but initially, these muscles can’t change in length. This means that weightlifting might also not entirely be the cause of tight hip flexors.
Otherwise, the idea that extreme exercise might also be a lead cause opposes the research that has shown that exercises like strength training help improve the tendon function and muscles and also uses a rehabilitating tool for joint problems and pains.
Nevertheless, there is a possibility that you could injure your hip flexors while working out at home or the gym and this might result in tight hip flexors. You must be wondering by now, “then what causes hip flexors” right?
Well, this happens to be a somewhat mysterious phenomenon which is why there are so many assumptions of what causes it. The good news, however, is, some solutions can help relieve the tight hip flexors.
Some of the most common solutions revolve around specific exercises and stretches that help relieves the hip flexors. There are also exercises that will primarily target the lower body to help improve the impaired lower body mobility which is what gets in the way of deadlifting, squatting and other exercises. There is also “The unlock your hip flexors program” which is one of the solutions we recommend.
Solutions to Relieve Tight Hip Flexors
The Unlock Your Hip Flexors Program
This is a program developed by Rick Kaselj meant to unlock your hips and as a result, restore your natural movement. We root for this program because anyone can benefit from it. He has been able to pull together a sequential flow that has ten selected exercises meant to relieve the tight hip flexors.
The exercises include Static Stretching, PNF Stretching, 3-Dimensional Core Stability Exercises, Dynamic Stretching, Fascia Stretching, Mobility exercises and Muscle Activation. He has created a program that will help you know how to target the muscles that are hard to reach with some detailed step-by-step videos that will walk you through the moves.
Using this program will also allow you to discover how the natural survival mode of your body has been tricked into the permanent “danger” mode. As a result, you will know how to switch it off and experience faster fat loss and increased energy.
Rick will help you understand the main reason your psoas muscle changes structure and how that impacts ripples across your body making your muscle group compensate. He will also help you know how you might be affected by this problem if you tend to sit better part of your days or if you train too much at the gym.
Through this program, you will discover why intense core workouts might be causing you more harm if your hips aren’t loosened first. He will help you understand why the sit-ups and crunches are not helping you. You will realize why strong glutes and legs are crucial to your overall health and why you might need to avoid too much hip flexion.
He even goes an extra mile to make sure you understand how injury, stress, and trauma can affect your psychological state when they build up within your posture. You will finally understand that the cure is not to stop sitting but what you need to do is actively target the muscles to undo the damage of sitting for more extended hours.
Rick lets you know that “support” and “comfort” are the enemies of your natural physiology. He will tell you that forgetting support cushion, pillows and belts might actually help you move back towards your natural posture.
You will also find out how the tight hips have affected your sexual life and performance due to the decreased circulation and blood flow and what you need to do to achieve your sexual health again and probably save your relationship.
You will also learn to re-energize your thinking and clear your mind through learning how to relax the psoas muscle and help you wipe stress from your mind. The unlock your hip flexors is a win a win, not only will you deal with your tight hip flexors, it will leave you mentally healthy as well.
Stretches of Tight Hip Flexors
Typically, when we have a tight muscle, the first instinct is to stretch. However, even though stretching can benefit the body, it doesn’t entirely solve muscle tightness. It depends on what causes your problem in the first place.
This is where you have to test and see which of the following stretching exercises will work for you and work towards seeing that the hip flexors less aggravated or looser. In case it does, then make a note and add them to your list. Some of the stretches include:
Kneeling Hip Flexor Stretch: it targets the hip flexors, and it involves working on the stretch 2-3 minutes stretching per leg.
Psoas Quad Stretch: this stretch targets the psoas muscle which is a potent pelvic muscle. Lower back comfort is often as a result of a tight psoas muscle and when that’s the case doing squats becomes an impossible task. To do the stretch, you have to assume a position and drive your knee into the ground, lean forward into a deep stretch and then release. Repeat the stretch 2-3 minutes per leg.
Walking Knee Hug: this stretch targets the glutes and helps loosen your hips if they are both tight. The aim is to do at least 12 knee hugs per leg and hold the position for at least 2 seconds per stretching session.
Rectus Femoris Stretch: the rectus femoris is the largest hip flexor, and this stretch focuses on targeting it. Focus on the stretch 2-4 minutes per leg.
Scorpion Stretch: this stretch targets your glutes, flexors, and lower back. Do the stretch 3-5 times per leg in every stretching session.
Strengthening Exercises for Tight Hip Flexors
Strengthening exercises that target the hip flexors also help ease the tightness. As with the stretches, you are not sure what will work for you, so the idea is to find out what works for you by trying out what works out there.
Strengthening exercises will reduce the muscle-related pains, improve your joint health, give you a great set of legs, and reduces overall muscular pain. Here are a handful of exercises that might help with tight hip flexors:
Barbell Back Squat: this exercises is one of the best squat variations, and it also happens to be a very effective exercise that helps build a solid muscular lower body. The fact that it’s a whole-body exercise allows it to involve all the muscle groups other than your chest. However, make sure that your thighs are slightly below parallel to the floor or mat at the bottom of the squat, making sure the butt is below the knees.
Barbell Front Squat: this exercise targets the core and quadriceps and requires much less flexibility compared to back squat. It creates less torque in the knees and less compression of the spine, making it particularly useful for people with knee or back limitations or injuries.
Lunge: this is a practical leg exercise that benefits everyone. It helps build muscle, balance, and strength and also addresses the muscular imbalances because it’s a single-leg movement. You can make it more effective by using dumbbells.
Leg Press: this exercise is friendly to beginners because it requires less technical skill and allows you to load heavier weights because it stabilizes the muscles. And also, due to its large range of motion, it helps build hip strength.
Bulgarian Split Squat: this is a unilateral leg exercise and its very effective for training your hip flexors, hamstrings and glutes.
Pendulum: this exercise will strengthen your core and hips. Begin with a small movement and increase the range motion as you become stronger.
Stay Active
It is essential to find out what works for you and while you are trying to find that out, make sure you stay as active as you can. Staying inactive for long periods of times also makes your hip flexors tight which is what you should be aiming to avoid in the first place.
Staying active means that you will also need to significantly reduce the number of hours you sit and also see your physical therapist to find out what will work for you and the appropriate level of activity you should indulge in for the tight hip flexor.
Things To Know Before Getting Involved With “Hip Flexors Program”

Cons of the Program
The add-ons can be a bit annoying

The PDF lacks the links of the videos in the book which means you have to refer to the download page for you to get the videos
Summary of the Unlock Your Hit Flexors Program:
If you have been trying various stretches and exercises and you have seen no improvement, then you might consider exploring the program. You will be educated on:
How to work out properly
How to stay away from injuries
How to re-balance your hips
How to employ your group of muscles in your hip for optimum effect
It might ultimately be what offers you the keys you require to get rid of that tight hip flexor for good finally. The program will also explain why your previous attempts to cut weight and get a lean body never worked which might also be what you need to get that body you want so badly finally.
He will also teach you on how certain things are connected to your body and how some “chain reactions” occur. Overall, the program is affordable, great and legit. As long as you keenly follow the instruction Rick offers, the program will work. In case you actually sit a lot, or you have a job that requires you to stay glued to your desk better part of the day then you really need to get this program.
Conclusion
Let’s face it, when you have a tight hip flexor, it never stops nagging you. You always tend to feel them when you are sitting, laying, standing, walking, or working out and it interferes with your progress if you are trying to venture into lower body training.
With so many conflicting opinions all over about what actually causes tight hip flexors, trying to fix it can become even more frustrating especially if you are not getting the results you need. Fortunately, you can get results if you:
Get the “Unlock your Hip Flexors ”
Do a stretch several times a day for several days and find out if works out for you
Do exercises that will strengthen your hip flexors
Stay active
At the end of the day, you should not give up on fixing your tight hip flexor. If you haven’t, try Rick’s program while you still explore the world of stretch and strength exercises that might help ease the pain that comes from a tight hip flexor. You only have one body, your aim should be to take care of it as much as you can rather than wait for hip flexor problems to get worse.
Remember: Tight hip flexors are not a fatality!

The Pioneer Detectives: Did a Distant Spacecraft Prove Einstein and Newton Wrong?
Explore one of the greatest scientific mysteries of our time, the Pioneer Anomaly: In the 1980s, NASA scientists detected an unknown force acting on the spacecraft Pioneer 10, the first man-made object to journey through the asteroid belt and study Jupiter, eventually leaving the solar system. No one seemed able to agree on a cause. (Dark matter? Tensor-vector-scalar gravity? Collisions with gravitons?) What did seem clear to those who became obsessed with it was that the Pioneer Anomaly had the potential to upend Einstein and Newton – to change everything we know about the universe.
With riveting prose and the precision of an expert, Konstantin Kakaes gives us a scientific police procedural, tracking the steps of those who sought to unravel this high-stakes enigma. His thrilling account draws on extensive interviews and archival research, following the story from the Anomaly’s initial discovery, through decades of tireless investigation, to its ultimate conclusion. The Pioneer Detectives is a definitive account not just of the Pioneer Anomaly but of how scientific knowledge gets made and unmade, with scientists sometimes putting their livelihoods on the line in pursuit of cosmic truth. Perfect for fans of John McPhee, Thomas Kuhn, and Ed McBain, this is also an immensely enjoyable story accessible to anyone who loves brilliant, fascinating long-form journalism.
