The thing is, Berharlter should keep his mouth shut. He's the one who told media gio was injured thus can't play before and he made the decision to protect him, now he saying gio is lack of effort? He literally proved himself a liar. And the way my boy ain't got no respect from this corny man is so fking unbelievable, he's only 20, he's insanely talented, he's absolutely fit and he should've been started in every game.

And I can't be more mad about the fact they're selling the story that gio was lazy in training, and he had problems with his teammates, excuse YOU??? I'm sorry but he's loved by all at Dortmund, are you familiar with the name haaland? that man praised gio and called gio American Dream, that says a lot. He has never got into a feud with anyone, he's hardworking, there's no coach has ever said a bad word about him, none from Favre, Rose and Terzic, except Berharlter. He's such a sweet kid, we were genuinely heartbroken when he left the field in tears because of his injury earlier this year, that's how good he is, and that's why I ain't buying no shit from those chaotic mess.

Sometimes I hate football, people just judge and criticise things they don't even know about, calling gio ungrateful, should be a better person, etc. It's kinda sad.

Meanwhile I'm proud of him, and I'll always be. As I said it before, he's only 20, he's insanely talented, he's absolutely fit and he just scored a goal yesterday right after WC.

He has the world at his feet.

like gio is by no means a flawless player but he's definitely played well enough to deserve substantial amounts of game time either as a starter or a sub especially in a team that doesn't look great creatively and is just sort of fucking around and hoping to find 3 points along the way

Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2018 York

In order to be exposed to new formats of film and fresh new ideas of today's short-filmmaking society, a group of few film students left for York to join in on the many screenings at Aesthetica this year. From this Festival I found myself intrigued by the sheer diversity in all of the films I had seen, ranging from a comedy about pricking your potatoes, to an experimental film by Topher Campbell called 'FETISH' exploring the 'black lives matter' movement, to an animation projected on Styrofoam blocks.

It was extremely enticing and invigorating to watch so many films of such different backgrounds and with amazingly developed narratives and imagery within less than 30 minutes screening time for the most part.

This is a list of my favourite screenings throughout the festival and reasons that they stayed with me.

‘Lieber Augustin (Dear Augustin)’ - Miroslav Terzic : the final long take holds so much power and emotion, leaving much of the audience in shock.

‘Instinct’ - Maria Alice Arida : all aspects of tension are so beautifully crafted to create this perfectly timed thriller. There wasn’t a single moment I felt was lost in boredom.

‘FETISH’ - Topher Campbell : an actual shocking piece, Campbell does not back down from instilling disgust, fear, hope and hate in this memorable film.

‘Mamoon’ - Ben Steer : the creativity of the projection onto styrofoam blocks was both interesting and visually attractive.

‘Facing It’ - Sam Gainsborough : a fun little clay animation that quite well sums up anxiety, depression amongst other things, keeping it relatable and still a very different representation of mental health.

‘Pricks’ - Benjamin Bee : there’s something about a little old lady telling you her whole family died by not pricking her potatoes that is extremely comedic.

‘Until the Silence Comes’ - Puleng Stewart & Jannous Aukema : experimental and stylisitic, many elements of this film were deviant of the expectations of film, which gave a new perspective to the images that were presented.

‘Ralph Styles Ultra’ - Nick Fforde : extremely cheesy, but still glamourous and invigorating, really sets up the 1970s’ feel with the use of the soft-focus and glittering lights.

‘Black Sheep’ - Ed Perkins : This documentary startled me, it presents some very heavy issues and it’s soundtrack was fitting.

‘The Third King’ - Christoph Oliver Strunck : could’ve watched a feature length version of this one, the characters were so well written and the world was established immediately.

‘Infinity’ - Ronan Mackenzie : an interesting set of visuals made more amazing by the strange technique of animation.

‘Sex Ed’ - Alice Seabright : even though it’s a comedy, you can’t help but feel for Ed, you get lost in his character and his monologue really throws you into the reality of Erectile Dysfunction.

‘Fucking Drama’ - Michael Podogil  : although the plot twist was very expected, the actors and the sheer anxiety is manages to create is astonishing.

As part of this festival, I also managed to go to showcase screenings and masterclasses. The Role of the Camera Op was ever so intriguing and I was able to be among many aspiring cinematographers and camera operators. Plus, Sean Savage - President of the Association of Camera Operators / Game of Thrones, Vincent McGahon - ‘The World’s End’ (2013) and Ray Andrew, who worked alongside Stanley Kubrick as a steadicam operator for ‘The Shining’, worked on the 127 takes of Shelley Duvall waving a bat at Jack Nicholson whilst walking up the stairs.
