Blast To The Past Rules
LEAUGE OVERVIEW
-This League is not for everyone, we will be using a drastically different ratings scale than EA and in turn there will be more lower rated players and individual ratings such as throw power, man/zone coverage, and route running will be lower on average. So if that seems unappealing to you this isn't the league for you
- Be considerate of other members of the League, everyone has their own issues and responsibilities to deal with on a daily basis
- If you have any questions comments or concerns regarding anything to do with the League direct it toward one of the commissioners
- Intentionally losing games/sacrificing your season to get a higher draft pick, or “tanking”, is not allowed. The commissioners have the right to determine if a user is tanking or not, and also have the right to request private streams from users to determine if they are indeed tanking. If it is found that a user is tanking the commissioners will discuss and determine the punishment for said user depending on the varying circumstances
-If a user is consistently losing by large margins, they’ll be removed from the league due to a lack of the ability to compete consistently. You don’t have to be great at the game or even good, but this rule is in place mainly to prevent consistent blowouts and non competitive teams that skew the overall stats and balance of the league
-Absolutely NO PLAYING THE CPU NO EXCEPTIONS
- When joining the league, make sure to create a coach. The purpose of this is to keep track of each user’s overall record throughout the franchise and so that every user starts on equal ground in terms of coach boosts that can be obtained from coach XP
=======================================================================================================================================================================================
SCHEDULING & ACTIVITY
-We will advance every 2 days (48 hours), or whenever all games are completed whichever comes first
-All scheduling of games is expected to be done within the first few hours of advance. It is also recommended that you schedule your games in the main league chat for all commissioners to see so that if it is necessary to review the communication it can be done so easily and in a timely fashion
-When scheduling your games agree to a SPECIFIC DATE & TIME with your opponent as opposed to “ I’m available anytime after X” for example. Scheduling this way will make it much less likely for you to receive a Fair Sim, if you show up at the agreed upon time and your opponent does not
-General lack of communication is NOT TOLERATED, if the commissioners feel that you are being too inactive with your communication and are lacking a sense of urgency, to a reasonable degree, to communicate with your opponent regularly, then you’ll be removed from the league
-If you will be unavailable for an extended period of time then let the commissioners know ahead of time. If you go off the grid without giving a heads-up to the commissioners, you’ll be removed from the league. Living your life is allowed, but too many extended absences will become problematic
-Aside from extreme circumstances, failing to play 4 games in a single season due to scheduling conflicts that are deemed your fault will result in removal from the league
-Beginning in the final four weeks, (week 14) and going forward until the conclusion of the Super Bowl, the league will shift to 24 hour advance which will help move the league along in the ladder stages of the season
=======================================================================================================================================================================================
GAMEPLAY
- No intentionally exploiting the AI
-Players must ALWAYS rush at least 3 defenders on EVERY play
-No heat seeker or ball hawk, if you believe your opponent has heat seeker or ball hawk on you must ask for their settings before the start of the second half in the main chat by tagging them along with the commissioners and a photo of the time remaining/quarter of the game in its’ current state. Every user is expected to check their phone prior to exiting the post game menu so that they may know for sure that they do or do not have to take a video of their settings. If all requirements are met by the user asking to see the settings and the opposing user fails to show their settings it will be an automatic 2 game suspension with the potential of increase if the offense is repeated, but if the requirements are not met by the requesting team the request will be deemed null and void. It will also result in a 2 game suspension if the user is found to have ball hawk and/or heat seeker active for that game
-Chew Clock is not allowed at any point in the game unless both teams mutually come to an agreement to do so. If your opponent is using chew clock without your consent, contact a commissioner and if you provide proof they will be reprimanded in some way
-Quitting a game is NOT tolerated and will in all likelihood result in removal from the league
-In the event that a game gets disconnected users are expected to come to a fair and reasonable agreement as to how to handle the situation going forward, however if both parties cannot come to an agreement they are to refer to the commissioners on what to do with the situation
-Onside Kicks can be done at any point in the game by either team regardless of the situation
=======================================================================================================================================================================================
4TH DOWN RULES
-You can go for it if it is 4 & 3 or less at any point in the game at any position on the field, however you may only do this twice in the game. In the 4TH QUARTER you can go for it anywhere on the field with any time remaining if you're trailing by any number of points or if you're leading by 8 points or less (one possession). If you're leading by 9 or more points in the 4th quarter the 4th & 3 rules applies to you.
-Anything goes in Overtime as the whole period can be considered a “game time decision”
-If any aspect of the 4th down rule is broken and evidence is shown to the commissioners, a punishment will be given to the user who broke the rule depending on the number of times they’ve broken the rule in this situation and previously
=====================================================================================================================================================================
PLAYBOOKS
- We will be starting off allowing the use of custom playbooks, this is to allow users to really put their own offense/defense out there, but there will be a short leash on this rule and if abused by users who are constantly stacking their playbook with glitch plays we'll dial it back to team playbooks only, so just play real football
=======================================================================================================================================================================================
FREE AGENCY/RESIGNING
-When the league first opens you may NOT add any free agents or sign anyone until prompted by the commissioners to do so
-For every preseason following the very first one, users will be allowed to add ONE free agent per week of the preseason. In the regular season, users are allowed to add as many free agents as they’d like to shape/mold their roster to fit whatever they want to do
Defer to the following link when resigning players or making an offer for a player in Free Agency (Full Credit to TFGO):
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OQLRRIXv3yPZfTqK5EdIu_1zgzRt8l4v_spAruU5Q-c/edit#gid=1439637494
-The purpose of having a contract chart is to compensate for the ratings spread that the 2006 roster uses while still maintaining balance and parity within the league. This will make team building more difficult and increase parity within the league both in terms of roster fluctuations and in team success. If you resign a player to less than the required amount the contract will be edited to meet the mark plus an extra 15 % and if you're unable to afford the extra 15 % the player will automatically hit free agency unless you get back into positive cap space before the first stage of free agency
-You may not sign a player to your practice squad and sign them right back to your roster that same week if they're 65+ overall and/or a Star/SS/X-Factor. You also may not sign 75+ overall players to your practice squad at all. If either of these rules are broken or if a user attempts to use the practice squad to exploit contracts in any way, shape, or form the player will AUTOMATICALLY hit the open market in the offseason and may not be traded
=======================================================================================================================================================================================
TRADING
-The first season will have a trade limit of one trade (No player 90+ overall and/or X-FACTOR may be traded in the first season) to allow users to fully learn their team before making major moves to change their roster. Also to any users who join after the initial start of the league will be required to wait one full season before making any trades
-There will be no trade limit after the first season except when you trade with a team, you will not be able to trade with that team again for two full seasons. (Ex. If the Bills traded with the Eagles in the first season, they would not be able to make a trade with each other again until the third season)
-Multi part trades ARE allowed, but the maximum number of players allowed in one trade, per team, is 4. There is no limit to the number of draft picks allowed in a trade
3+ team trades are not allowed
-For a trade to be approved, you must submit your trade to one of the commissioners for them to then share with the other commissioners and come to a ruling. The commissioners will then give feedback on the trade telling you whether it was approved or declined, why, and how you can change it to an approved ruling if it was declined
-There will be no rules preventing playoff teams to trade up however far in the draft, but keep in mind if you’re a playoff team that wants to move up you’ll have to give up significant value if you want the trade to reach approval
-To submit a trade, use this format for players and send it to one of the commissioners for a smoother process, and quicker response, you aren’t required to use this format, but you are much more likely to receive a swift response if you do. Player Name, Position, Overall, Age, Development, Years remaining on contract and salary/bonus
-No Trading with the CPU
-You can swap teams prior to the start of the league, but once we start the league you may not swap teams
=======================================================================================================================================================================================
DRAFTING
-Each team is allowed a maximum of three picks per round in the first two rounds of the draft. There is no pick limit for every other round of the draft
-For the draft, each team will get their full clock to draft in the first and second rounds of the draft, for round 3 teams will get 1 minute, and for round 4 each team will get 30 seconds. Round 4 is as far as we’ll go, the rest of the draft will be simulated so we recommend you set your draft boards and monitor them throughout
=======================================================================================================================================================================================
ROSTER MANAGEMENT/ ABILITIES/ DEVELOPMENTS
-No changing players names unless explicitly told by the commissioners that you may do so
-All users must match their players on their roster with their corresponding number range depending on their position as stated below:
QB/K/P: 1-19
DB/HB/FB: 20-49
WR: 10-19, 80-89
TE: 40-49, 80-89
OL: 50-79
DL: 40-79, 90-99
LB: 40-59, 90-99
-You may NOT change the position of a player with one year remaining on their contract until AFTER they’ve signed an extension
-Offensive Lineman are interchangeable
(LT, LG, C, RG, RT)
Defensive Backs are interchangeable
(CB, FS, SS)
Linebackers are interchangeable
(LOLB, MLB, ROLB)
Defensive Lineman are interchangeable
(RE, LE, DT)
DE to OLB or OLB to DE
(This is only allowed if you’re making a scheme change from 3-4 to 4-3 or vise versa)
-ANY POSITION CHANGES NOT SHOWN ARE NOT ALLOWED| The Exception to this rule is if a player in real life played/plays multiple positions in which case, after clearing it with a commissioner, you'll have the flexibility to move that player to whatever positions they played IE Devin Hester CB/WR, Taysom Hill TE/WR/QB/ST, ETC
SUPERSTAR AND SUPERSTAR X-FACTOR PLAYERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE THEIR POSITION CHANGED, THIS CAN AFFECT THEIR X-FACTOR ABILITY AMONG OTHER ABILITIES! If you want to move a Superstar or X-Factor’s position, do so in the Depth Chart
-Superstar and X-Factor players may also NOT have their abilities changed. (with exception to this however which will be covered in the rule below) Also, players that start as Superstars or X-Factors will likely have predetermined abilities set by the commissioners to better fit each player. Abilities can be appealed if the ability that a player gets does not fit that player whatsoever (IE Matt Ryan gets bulldozer). If you want to appeal an ability for a player DM one or all of the commissioners, but once a player has been reviewed they cannot be reviewed again regardless of the result
-There will be LEGENDARY development players who will have the flexibility to change their X-factor and superstar abilities on a week-to-week basis, but it must be an ability that they have in the chart that will be linked below. LEGENDARY development players can be drafted and will always start as X-Factor although every X-Factor player is not a Legendary player, but every Legendary player is an X-Factor:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1C9aj2h3QbXGKhyWJ8_6HBpZB_GzUbThmovAseP9sZlg/edit#gid=0
-LEGENDARY Development is something we implemented into the league to utilize the new change abilities feature while also increasing the overall value for players who deserve a sizeable amount of separation from other SS/X-Factor players
-Some players will have predetermined/preset abilities or option abilities depending on the player, this is much different to a LEGENDARY dev player. All this really means is that some players have their abilities already mapped out or that some players will have the option to choose between a few abilities, however unlike LEGENDARY dev players you cannot change them on a week-to-week basis, whichever abilities you choose (if/when presented with a choice) you'll have whatever you choose with that player permanently. Users will be notified when they have a player with predetermined abilities or an option when we get to that point
-Players will be added to the LEGENDARY dev list once they're drafted into the league. A player cannot earn LEGENDARY dev trait they have to start with it
-If you have a breakout game for a player going from STAR to SUPERSTAR or SUPERSTAR to X-FACTOR make sure to STREAM or RECORD (with your phone or whatever) you going out of the game FROM THE END GAME MENU and show what abilities you got in the stream/recording. Also make sure to tag all three commissioners before you’re about to do it!
=======================================================================================================================================================================================
INCENTIVES
-There will be incentives for streaming your games as you will receive 1 point per game streamed that can be used at the end of the year on Awareness, Tackling, Pursuit, Ball Carrier Vision, Catching, Short Route Running, Medium Route Running, Deep Route Running, Release, Short Accuracy, Medium Accuracy, Deep Accuracy, Throw on the run, Throw under pressure, Play Action, Play Recognition, and Stamina (ALL CAP AT 80)
-The Super Bowl Champion will receive a development trait to use on the player of their choosing, but must be used prior to the start of the first free agency period (NORMAL TO STAR, STAR TO SUPERSTAR, SUPERSTAR TO X-FACTOR)
-The Super Bowl Champion will also be allowed to have the avatar of the group changed to whichever of their players that they want for the entirety of the next season, until the next Super Bowl
=======================================================================================================================================================================================
OTHER
-Do NOT sign any players with the designation "N A" in free agency they are filler/place holders for when the league fills up after the draft
-Do NOT sign any of the players on this list at any point in time unless told to do so by the commissioners. These players are on free agency until they're eventually drafted and after their rookie year (so they can go for rookie awards) they will be put on the team that drafts them to preserve their face scan and in some cases their abilities
