tfw you just wanted to move to Limsa and maybe do some adventuring here and there to make money and help your community but instead you get caught up in the dealings of a secret society that kills gods so now the entire world’s politics are apparently your business and then just when you’re settling in the Nazi kill squad breaks into your clubhouse and murders like two dozen people and kidnap the nice secretary girl and in the process of rescuing her you’re made out to be a figurehead in the war effort which you were going to assist in anyway but this new pressure isn’t exactly what you wanted, and even after you win the war politics won’t leave you alone so you get framed for regicide and have to go into hiding as all your friends do the same so you go to Catholic Elf France and meet a very nice man that you totally hit it off with but once again get dragged into Fucking Politics and Another War but this time with dragons and though you manage to end the war and help establish peace your new elf boyfriend gets murdered saving your life by the Pope’s boyband and he has the gall to smile as he dies in your arms like that isn’t going to scar you for the rest of your life, and just when it feels like things are calming down again you find out parallel dimensions are real and they are invading your world to kill you because it’s the only way to save their own world and so you have to murder a man that looks exactly like you that’s gone through the same things as you but MORE because it’s the only way to protect your home and loved ones but HE’S only doing this to save his home and loved ones and before you can even finish processing all of this the douchebag that framed you for regicide summons The Turbo Murder Dragon and one of your friends has to burn out his own soul in order to put a lid on it, and worse yet the Nazis saw it and have decided now’s a good time to start Yet Another War, so you are once again dragged into being the figurehead of a war against foreign fascists with all the unwelcome responsibility and pressure that comes with that, only this time there’s a crackhead blonde twunk with a sword running around that wants to kick your ass specifically and he’s strong enough that you can’t beat him in a straight fight, so you run half-way around the world to train and recruit more allies so that you stand even a spitting chance against him, and by then he’s full on obsessed with you in a creepy way, but whatever you put him and The Turbo Murder Dragon down, but then More Goddamn Politics happen and his stupid simp ruins any chance at peace though honestly it’s ridiculous that these people ever thought you could negotiate peace with The Fucking Nazis, but hey you’re just an adventurer what do you know so here comes ANOTHER FUCKING WAR and before you can even get dressed for it your friends start dropping like flies with no apparent cause until you’re the only one left and you have no idea whether the people you love who’ve been your only constants through all of this are going to live or die and then whoosie fucking do you get yoinked through space and time to the alternate dimension where your lookalike came from and HIS job of saving HIS world is now on you because turns out if his world is destroyed YOURS will also be so now you’ve got the ravaged remains of THIS planet viewing you as their savior and the onus is on you specifically to fight an unstoppable army of killer angels that turn people into more killer angels, all the while finding out that everything you thought you knew about metaphysics is a lie and that the goddess that’s empowered you to do all this is Just Another Primal like the supposed Evil God the Bad Guys have been working for, while Bad Guy In Chief basically spells out that he has only ever wanted to save his world and the people he loves, and you’re having to once again deal with the knowledge that you cannot protect your home and your family without killing people who only want the same, and everything you and your friends have done have been the machinations of these two competing false deities, that every conflict you’ve been a part of has been a move in their chess game, so when you kill Bad Guy In Chief you’re left the knowledge that you’ve dealt the final blow in a genocide but the alternative was the death of everything and everyone you’ve ever loved, so the most you can do is remember them and honor their memory, but now that FUCKING TWUNK is back from the dead and kickstarting ANOTHER FUCKING WAR because he is THAT fucking obsessed with fighting you, a war only possible because of the now dead Bad Guy In Chief BECAUSE of the Fake Evil God VS Fake Goddess Conflict that was forced on you and you’re really, REALLY sick to fucking death of these people involving you and the people you love in these perils and selfish conflicts when you’re nobody special, you’re just the person that happened to be in the right place all those years ago, yet you’ve had to go through all of this hardship because of these false gods vying for control and you’re ready to kill them, the moon, and everything that stands in front of you because one way or another you are going to make it fucking stop for good this time.

More on my random yokai watch headcanon of Directator being Hoaxy Coaxy's son and Madam Mushroom being the mom

* Hoaxy Coaxy and Madam Mushroom met when she was another in the long line of random people whose dreams he tried to eat. But instead when he poofed into her Daydream Dimension he found her standing ominously at the end of a hallway like the kids from the shining and then she lucid dream'd him into a nightmare and kicked his ass. I just feel like Madam Mushroom is probably the most powerful human in this universe and no yokai would stand a chance, lol. He was utterly enamoured instantly by this strange human who was able to take control of his dreams for herself with her sheer lack of fear of him. And also ykno how she was all ominous and talked in riddles and acted like a trickster goddess to the people of the town. And most importantly how she did all this despite having no actual supernatural abilities, she just liked to troll people for the fun of it! Thats something to admire!! So he came back and apologized for the dreamwalking and was like "oh btw im not just a regular nightmare im literally an eldritch monster from the realm of the dead" and she was like "fuck yeah i knew magic was real, yo dude can you send me into people's dreams so i can give them cryptic warnings about nothing while hovering in a red room". And he was like "Oh Fuck We Are Soulmates" And thus began a grand romance of spooky pranks and cutey kisses! :3

* imagine this old lady adorably curled up in the arms of a giant floating severed head cloud man with ten foot tall fangs and they is napping together n dreaming of having cute dates

* one day they literally just decided to have a kid and It Was Complete. Hoaxy just dreamed up a baby in five seconds and then they had to awkwardly fake madam mushroom being pregnant for nine months. It was like having the worlds most hilarious in-joke! (Becoming parents did not make them any less immature)

* to manifest this dream child in the physical world they had to create some sort of vessel to stick the boundless essense of chaos energy into. Naturally, madam mushroom picked the best shroom in her garden! So Directator never got to see any of his baby photos cos they were all of some horrifying screaming face on a plant.

* related note: when he found out about this he pretty much stared blankly into space for three hours. Tfw u thought u were a normal human for 28 years then ur mum is like 'daww look this is when u were a tumourous mass of teeth in the garden that sucked in nearby birds into a nightmare dimension'

* oh and the reason Hoaxy Coaxy isnt around during present day is cos he ended up getting arrested and sent to the Infinate Inferno with everyone else who pissed off Enma. One of his pranks probably just went too far one day or something. THOU SHALT NOT PLACETH WHOOPIE CUSHIONS ON THE ROYALE THRONE!! So he was unfortunately unable to see his kid for a long time and Directator grew up just thinking his mum's weird fairy tales were stuff she made up to entertain him as a baby. He kinda looked up to Hoaxy Coaxy as a fictional character of all those stories, and only pieced it all together when he finally met him. Alas, the curse of having a cryptic mother!

* probably ghoulfather busted hoaxy coaxy out of jail and he was stuck working for this dude even though he didnt wanna. Part debt to him for the rescue, part raising money to get back home to his wife and son, and part 'well fuck i guess this dude technically created me so i kinda gotta'. The game just says that ghoulfather created hoaxy coaxy and doesnt elaborate any further, so my headcanon is that he was an old imaginary friend ghoulfather dreamed up back when he was human. And he discarded him as useless when he first started becoming evil. Hoaxy was very young at the time and left completely alone without any support of other yokai to give him guidance, or otjer human friends to care about him. So he had a tough time and ended up becoming this evil dream parasite out of necessity to survive on his own. Originally he was just a small powerless jibanyan-esque cutie mascot, and he's bitter that his creator only wants to take him back now he's become powerful enough to be useful to his evil schemes. So he has less loyalty to the ghoulfamily than the others and isnt blinded to how ghoulfather's once good heart has been clearly corrupted long ago. However he's also not exactly a hero or anything, more just a chaotic neutral dude who only cares about A: fun and B: ok i guess i kinda love my wife and son now. So his dissent is more just whining about how bored he is and noone respects him and cmon just finish the stupid evil plan already so i can go home. Also i know ur technically hia grandfather but ur not invited to my son's birthday party!!!

* anyway i dunno how but eventually directator's gotta reunite with his dad and itd be all teary and heartwarming and then he'd be like "CUT CUT CUT ok lemme take that from the top" *repeats exact same crying but now the crew is filming it* And hoaxy is like 'oh thank god my boy turned out just as silly as me'

Hey man! Saw you asking for Meta Posts and I was wondering, based on the context of this season, who you think Jensen’s new character might be. Do you think we’re looking at (a potentially crazy) OG!Michael, AU!Michael, or (long stretch but it’s been tossed around) AU!Azazel????

HEY! Thank you and oh gosh I am all over this topic right now. *grabby hands*

I have been throwing ideas at @tinkdw and @margarittet all day and the one thing we all agree on is that Michael!Dean is super obvious based on spoilers. 

Personally I don’t actually think it makes sense in the current narrative for Dean to say yes to possession by Michael. If he DOES and they do go down that route I would put money on it being a Bucklemming idea. 

I doubt it would be AU!Michael because as far as I can tell he has a perfectly good vessel/body whatever the deal is with angels in the AU since demons have actual horns and all... and he has never heard of Dean nor cares about Dean and even if he did find out that Dean was his vessel in our reality, why would that make him want to jump out of his currently perfectly good vessel ya know? 

So that leaves us with Original Michael. Which means we are in for a potentially kinda dumb plot point in which for some reason the boys decide it would be a good idea to pull Michael out of the cage and force him back into action. Why would they do that? Maybe they think Michael can convince AU!Michael not to destroy our world? I don’t even know. Maybe Michael escapes somehow and in his madness he threatens Cas and Sam unless Dean gives him his consent? Whatever the actual reasoning is for Michael coming back, I have no doubt that Dean’s consent would be conditional on protecting Cas and Sam. 

That’s IF it is Michael of course, which whilst obvious, it’s not the character that excites me most.

That I leave for Azazel. When we first got the spoiler that Jensen would be playing someone else I wondered about this, and I know others have thought about it too even though its probably not very plausible, but I can’t help but love the idea. 

I have been wondering all season about the Empty. It had such a huge foreshadowed build up in seasons 11 and 12 and there was one line in particular that really got me excited in 13x04 that I would have screamed about at the time if I had ever gotten around to actually writing a review for that episode:

COSMIC ENTITY: That’s right. Nothing. Nothing but Empty. And you are soaking in it. Angels and demons, you all come here when you die. CASTIEL: Every angel that ever died is here?

For some reason this stayed with me. If Cas can come back from the place where all the angels and demons go when they die, then so can anyone else. 

TFW are currently running around trying to open rifts in time and space to save their loved ones, completely ignoring Billie’s warning:

BILLIE: this whole multi-versal quantum construct we live in, it’s like a house of cards. And the last thing I need is some big, dumb Winchester knocking it all down.

Well, at least Dean is as far as we know...

So my thoughts immediately went to “well, what if the act of knocking it all down wakes up the empty entity along with everything else and we end up with this massive bleed of formally dead angels and demons back to haunt the shit out of TFW for the lead up to the final season?” and okay okay, this is wild speculation. But I really like the idea.

I started thinking whose presence in the show would have THE MOST significance and honestly, my mind jumped straight to Azazel. I would LOVE for Azazel to come back and possess Dean because the sheer amount of meta and meaning and EVERYTHING in that just makes my mind go:

and what with all the references to him in recent seasons, the call backs, the yellow eyes and significance of the colour yellow... urgh I would just love it. I would love it. it would be horribly, horribly, tragic. But I would love it. It would tie everything back to the original story, to John and his revenge mission, to Mary’s death, to the demon blood and Sam’s original story arc... Azazel would be the key to finally bringing this all back around. To address old trauma and finally close the door on their terrible childhood and abuse at the hands of their father. In a season with underlying themes about fatherhood, it would be an interesting way to address all that stuff without bringing John back. 

Unless they bring John back of course.

Do I think it’s likely? Not as much as Michael!Dean. Azazel doesn’t need consent to possess someone (and Dean does have the tattoo) and at least with the Michael!Dean story Dean would have to actively choose to consent and therefore regardless of how ridiculous it may be for plot purposes, for character purposes it is even more tragic and beautiful - just like a Hallmark movie. 

Dean saying yes to Michael in order to save Cas and Sam or to save the world or any of those reasons (though based on season themes I am really leaning towards saving Cas being the priority point) would be a HUGELY dramatic way to end this season. Thematically, I love it. Story wise though? It doesn’t make sense for the current plot to have Michael possess Dean. Original!Michael just isn’t necessary in this story. So I dunno. 

Maybe Gabe will possess him? Maybe his vessel is all ruined for whatever reason. That would be a random way to go. Plus it would give Sabriel shippers who don’t like wincest some really confusing thoughts. LOL.

Or maybe it’ll be Cas? Maybe an AU!Cas? Maybe in the AU world Dean meets AU!Cas and for some reason he is a prisoner or whatever and so to get him out Dean lets him possess him. That’ll be another really crazy out of left field idea. Because then you’d have actual Cas coming face to face with himself from an AU wearing Dean’s face and well, I may have just thought this concept up on the spot but now I really wanna read fanfic about that scenario because again, LOL.

Or hell, maybe it’ll be Crowley. Maybe this is how they bring back Crowley without bringing back Mark Shepherd? Imagine all the jokes about Crowley being “in Dean” (I’m already laughing about it tbh).

Or MAYBE it’ll be a woman who possesses him? Because Dean has been female coded for HOW LONG now? Abaddon wanted to get her creepy hands on him for a long time, this could be her way back from the empty perhaps? 

Or Rowena. Still a wild card waiting for the other various plot points to finish so she can step in with her goddess like power. Why would Rowena have reason to possess Dean when she already has the gorgeous form of Ruth Connell though? I dunno. It was just a thought.

Maybe Dean will be possessed by someone totally new who we’ve never seen before? Maybe there’s another eldritch monstrosity waiting in the wings to have its day in the sun in the gorgeous freckled form of Dean Winchester? Maybe 13x17 foreshadowed far more than we thought?

Or maybe it is the Cosmic Entity itself, now perpetually awake and grumpy because it’s world has been torn apart by one Dean Winchester, so it takes on his form and decides to wreck havok on the world. Plus it’ll give Jensen a chance to attempt that North Atlantic Oil Rig accent he loves so much. :P
