D: So I made them an imaginary sandwich and told them that the day I didn't have to fake it, neither would they.

D: Maybe we should try and tone it down a notch. The neighbors changed the name of their wifi network to "i can hear you having sex".

N/Detective

D: instead of just going for it they asked "will you do the honors?" it was the cutest thing I had ever heard before sex.

F & ...Anyone:

F: If we were unicorns we would fly together. Like in a pack. A pack of flying unicorns.

Verda, probably:

V: just found a carrot inside of a baby sock. living with toddlers is like living with tiny hammered people.

Detective & Tina:

D: Not only did I hold your hair back as you puked, i french braided it. I am such a great friend.

Detective & A:

D: Why am I in a dog kennel?

A: It was for your own safety

F: Whatever. We're stealing a penguin. Your not allowed near him... You did this to yourself

Wip Wednesday? (Time is an Illusion)

I’m actually not suuuuper sure about how much of a wip this is anymore cuz I goofed up the files for these on numerous occasions and now finishing them would be Extremely Tedious, but I’m pretty excited to share anyway! :D

good god I put all my energy into attempting a Mabari and p sure it shows…

It’s the Mishka smile thing I mentioned like a solid few times before :

Yara here has put effort into making Mishka look a bit friendlier cuz… he might’ve freaked quite a few people out back in Lothering, being a huge war hound and all. It is her hope that her funny dog can put people at ease, and yknow, seeing that the camp has acquired a new and slightly on-edge recruit, she crouches down and gives Mishka a conspiratorial grin

Shockingly, a person who has difficulties smiling and telling expressions apart maybe shouldn’t be the one teaching others to emote

(Yes, she considers Mishka’s smile delightful. Not shown is Mishka’s entire derrière wagging about with the excitement of finding a new playmate)

Offended (part I)

Hello my friends, I'm bringing you a new chronicles from this series from season 6!

I thought I could make this in one part but... Is a very extended topic. We need to talk about why and how much offended Dean was with CAS and Cas was with Dean in the firsts episodes of this season. So... I'm gonna need to parts for that.

Sorry I will be very critic with Sera Gamble's work in these two seasons. Because I found a lot of Wincest, inconsistences, disorganization and "out of character" behaviors in season 6 plot line. But I think you should know by now what I'm talking about. Putting that by a side, we had a lot of Destiel (angsty and cruel Destiel) scenes that need our attention.

Ok, no more cháchara. Let's start with this...

Dean is Offended with Cas

As I started to explain in the previous chronicle. We can infer Dean didn't call Cas in one entire year bc the last time they saw, Cas flee away without saying goodbye the same day Dean had lost his brother.

But when Dean heard from Sam he was calling Cas for one year and Cas didn't appear... DEAN'S face was priceless, he was surprised. But after this... We will see he add more anger to it. First of all, Cas didn't say goodbye, and came back to Heaven, so Dean didn't call him. But now... There was a good excuse, a good "no gay" excuse to be mat at CAS...

Cas didn't respond Sam's prayers

Episode 6x03 called "The third Man" was written by the talented Edlund. When Sam and Dean discovered angelical signs in the air, Dean decided to call Cas... After an entire year. A good excuse to make a pray.

DEAN: We should call Cas.

SAM: You're kidding, right? [ Scoffs ] Dean, I tried. It was the first and second and third thing I did, soon as I got topside. Son of a bitch won't answer the phone.

DEAN: [Sitting on a bed. ] Well, let's give it a shot. Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray to Castiel to get his feathery ass down here.

Why is Dean so sure CAS will answer him? He tried anyway, knowing Sam had called him and prayed him a lot of time for one entire year. But even so, Dean tried. Maybe he knew deep inside Cas will answer HIM, because maybe deep inside he knew his relationship with CAS was different in comparison with Sam and Cas relationship.

And Cas appeared...

This was huge. Because he didn't appeared when Sam called him but WHEN DEAN CALLED HIM. Tracing the big difference between CAS/Dean and Cas/Sam. I will put the "profound bond" meaning later on this meta, I actually want to talk about how Dean showed Castiel he was mad at him bc he didn't help his brother, things weren't good between them for Dean, bc he felt abbandoned by him when he most needed him, but bc that was a gay excuse, let's use this one... You didn't help Sam.

Focusing again in Sam, he put aside the meaning of the profound bond

When Dean heard about the profound bond, his facial expression was "what the hell is that?" Where did Cas and him share that kind of "intimate thing"? And very gay to say. He avoided that, and focus the conversation again in Sam.

This is the cause of why Castiel felt offended with Dean...

Cas is now offended with Dean

Everything Castiel does is for Dean, so when he flew away without saying goodbye, Cas went straight to rescue Sam from Hell. (This is the part we won't know till lasts episodes from this season. But when he came back, he saw the same Sam saw: DEAN HAD A FAMILY NOW. So he flew away again to Heaven and then the civil war began.

Maybe he didn't want to disturb Dean and his new life, as everyone else in this show (Bobby, Sam, etc) or maybe he was so busy with battles that time passed by without noticing. Remember time in Heaven runs differently, that's why when CAS asks for help to the Winchesters... Pay attention where Castiel put emphasis...

CASTIEL: Sam, Dean, my "people skills" are "rusty." Pardon me, but I have spent the last "year" as a multidimensional wavelength of celestial intent. But believe me, you do not want that weapon down here. Help me find it. Or more people will die.

This makes us think for Castiel the time is different, and isn't an entire year as it is for Dean or Sam, in Hell it's more but in Heaven? Time is sorter than for us, so... It runs different. So for CAS... Was maybe just a few days...

But let's check why Cas gets mad at Dean...

Dean not giving the importance that their bond deserves, made Cas feel embarrassed and offended.

Castiel appearing right away after Dean's prayer tells us he was just waiting for him to call him. He will be there at the instant Dean would pray to him. He was waiting for his call.

So when he appears, and Sam confront him...

Again HONESTY, honesty in Castiel's words, as always... "I was getting too close to the humans in my charge, you." Remember? He is always honest. And this time he was honest again.

"I wasn't gonna mention it"

This is huge, my friends. Because Cas turns around to watch Dean and lowers his voice!!!!! Like "THIS IS SOMETHING WE KNOW WE HAVE BETWEEN US."

Castiel thought Dean knew it too. And he thought it was a kind of secret between them. He thought Dean will be honest too, because as an angel he knows what is going on between them, something different and profound. Something special, not just a friendship. But Dean put that face, and didn't give the importance this "profound bond" between them had. So then Cas thought Dean didn't feel the same way. And this was why Castiel felt offended. And embarrassed. He had had just confessed something huge, a secret he thought he shared with Dean, and Dean was acting as if that was a lie.

Then...

Cas changed the subject with a very "jiltter lover" attitude

Look how Castiel changes the subject... Very offended...

Is a very sassy attitude... "So... What we have it means nothing to you? Ok... So... I didn't come bc you called me." He wanted to infringe on Dean the same hurting words he had just given him.

And Dean reacts as a jiltter lover too...

DEAN: Oh, well, it's nice to know what matters.

CASTIEL: It does help one to focus.

And Cas being sassy again.

This is like watching two offended lovers, throwing bombs to each other. So, from now on, we will have two upset schoolboys in love, being sassy and bossy with each other. That's a topic for the next Chronicle.

To conclude:

Dean was mad at CAS bc he didn't say goodbye to him, he didn't came to see him knowing he had just lost his brother. That's why he didn't call him. He found out Cas didn't answer Sam's calls for one year, and he found in this an excuse to show himself mad at Cas. A more reliable motive. When he had the opportunity he calls Castiel, knowing deep inside he will answer him.

But even so, he avoids any attempt that could show his special relationship with the angel. When Sam asked Cas "YOU LIKE HIM MORE THAN ME?" Dean "translate" the meaning of this words with a "WHAT SAM WANTS TO SAY IS..." Avoiding the really reason why Cas answered him right away. And the second avoidance he does is when Castiel talks about their PROFOUND BOND.

Castiel gets mad at Dean because of that, because honest as he always is, he confirmed their special relationship, as a secret between them, and seeing Dean reacting like that, made him feel embarrassed and disturbed. So he began to act as a jiltter lover.

The thing is ... They missed each other but no one will say it. Period. 🤣🤣

(Vol. XII)

It was a love story from the very beginning.

First date Illusion for a broken man

Hello Friends! I'm here again with another volume from my Destiel Chronicles.

In this meta I'm gonna trace a parallel between 5x03 "Free to be you and me" and 5x13 "My bloody Valentine."

I want to say thank you to my friend @agusvedder who made the gifs for this meta! You are amazing, girl!

Now, let's start this...

First hunting date

When Dean and Cas went on their first hunt together, it was like a first date, and as we saw in 5x03 "Free to be you and me", Dean really enjoyed being Castiel's partner and hunt with CAS.

Trying to teach him human's stuffs, giving him advices, and even going out to a brothel with him was so fun, that he admitted he was happy with him, as he wasn't in a long time.

Yes... Seeing Castiel having a bad time was funny too, he was discovering being around the angel was exquisitely entertained. He had tried made him mad, and locking him with pop culture, and now watching him so nervous was delicious.

That had been a great first date, he even tried to seduce him by flirting... But Cas was such a cute clueless angel...

But I'm a broken man

Coming back to 5x10 "Abandon all hope", Jo gets hurt bc she saved Dean from the hellhounds. And she dies later with her mother Hellen.

Dean let the guilt to consume him again, and we had, immediately after that episode, 5x11 "Sam interrupted", in which we saw Dr. Cartwright, as a construction/illusion, from Dean's mind to question himself about the mission, about his duties. The program he had in his head as THE BIG PROTECTOR and the FIRST BORN. The mission to protect everyone to any cost, even his life. He was questioning that because he felt Jo and Hellen had died for him. And that was too painful.

The first time Dr. Cartwright appeared, she asked Dean about his father, but the second time... He asked about the Mission Heritage.

DR. CARTWRIGHT: Why you?

DEAN: Why me, what?

DR. CARTWRIGHT: Why do you have to hunt monsters? Why not let someone else do it?

DEAN: (shrugs, smiles) Can't find anybody else that dumb. (thinks for a moment) It's my job. Somebody's gotta save people's asses, yours included.

Here is Dean asking himself why he has to do this. Why he has to hunt and keep saving people. And he answers himself. IT'S MY JOB. IT'S MY DUTY. BECAUSE I'M AN OBEDIENT SON. I'M A GOOD SON.

Then this...

DR. CARTWRIGHT: So, is there a quota? How many people do you have to save?

DEAN: All of them.

DR. CARTWRIGHT: All of them? You think you have to save everyone?

DEAN: Yep. Whole wide world of sports.

Dean has to save and protect anyone. So... Why he couldn't protect Jo and Hellen? That's the huge guilt that is now on his shoulders... But this didn't end there... When the Doctor asked how he would protect and save everyone, he said...

DEAN: It's the end of the world, okay? I mean, it's a damn Biblical apocalypse, and if I don't stop it and save everyone, then no one will, and we all die.

DR. CARTWRIGHT: That's horrible.

DEAN: Yeah, tell me about it.

DR. CARTWRIGHT: I mean, apocalypse or no apocalypse...monsters or no monsters, that's a crushing weight to have on your shoulders. To feel like six billion lives depend on you...God...how do you get up in the morning?

DEAN stares contemplatively for a moment.

DEAN: That's a good question.

How can Dean avoid all of this and wake up in the morning? He can't... He is carrying with it the whole journey... As we will see in the following scene.

Free will is an illusion

In episode 5x13 "The song remains the same", Dean talks with Michael!John, and that was one of the huge points that settled the Dean's despair that will lead him to say Yes to Michael and I will talking about that in the next volume, I just wanted to point here this phrase from the Archangel...

MICHAEL: You're my true vessel but not my only one.

DEAN: What is that supposed to mean?

MICHAEL: It's a bloodline.

DEAN: A bloodline?

MICHAEL: Stretching back to Cain and Abel. It's in your blood, your father's blood, your family's blood.

Michael is announcing everything is part of a plan, everything was constructed with a reason and with a destiny.

MICHAEL: You know, my brother, I practically raised him. I took care of him in a way most people could never understand, and I still love him. But I am going to kill him because it is right and I have to.

DEAN: Oh, because God says so?

MICHAEL: Yes. From the beginning, he knew this was how it was going to end.

DEAN: And you're just gonna do whatever God says.

MICHAEL: Yes, because I am a good son.

DEAN: Okay, well, trust me, pal. Take it from someone who knows—that is a dead-end street.

Michael is the good son, the obedient, as Dean is. This similitude is traced intentionally, and is one more proof that reveals everything was written to be like this. Even Mary and John were made for each other by design of God.

This lasts words from Michael will stay in Dean and will be part of the following events I will analyze in the next volume, will show us why he was about to quit to his free will.

Tryin to remember that first date when I was happy with you...

So, after these two things that happened to Dean, after questioning his duties, Famine arrives to the town on 5x14 "My bloody Valentine". And is Saint Valentine's day... But Dean was so broken and sad, that he didn't want to celebrate as always...

They start to investigate in the Morgue, and when they found enochian in one of the victims, they decided to call Castiel... And this classic Destiel scene happened...

Again he has this dorky angel in front of him, and is incredible he is doing that. But Dean and Cas are looking at each other's eyes again, with that intensity the hunter is use to by now... But is not less captivated.

And then, when CAS is explaining the boys about Cupid, Dean made a joke again...

DEAN: You mean the little flying fat kid in diapers?

CASTIEL: They're not incontinent.

SAM: Okay, anyway. So, what you're saying--

CASTIEL: What I'm saying is a Cupid has gone rogue and we have to stop him--before he kills again.

Castiel got a little anxious here, and Dean enjoys this. He enjoys this as he enjoyed putting him nervous that time in the brothel. He enjoys seeing Castiel mad too.

With all the things that happened to Dean, sad things, seeing Cas and... As we could see later on this episode, hunting alone with him, it reminds him that first date/hunt they had, when he was happy. When he enjoyed Castiel's company. So yes. Dean wasn't interested in food, in sex, in celebrating Valentine's day, he didn't feel Famine influence on him... The only thing/person that caught his attention was this dorky angel again. Because with him he had a good time. And now, admiring him and looking at him that way, checking him, he was trying to enjoy Castiel's company. (Even if people could say this was a cockles scene... The writers and the producers let the thing in the episode for one narrative reason.)

That's one deep, dark nothing Dean got there.

When Castiel realized Dean was the only one not having symptoms with Famine on town, he get curious.

CASTIEL: (...) What I don't understand is...where is your hunger, Dean?

DEAN: Huh?

CASTIEL: Well, slowly but surely, everyone in this town is falling prey to Famine, but so far, you seem unaffected.

But the truth was, the big hole Dean's had inside and Famine saw...

As I analyzed in my meta "Let's make a tour inside Dean's soul", that hole, that nothing, will be filled with love, family love and romantic love. But now, Dean is feeling empty, dead.

To conclude:

Jo and Hellen's deaths incremented the guilt inside Dean, he questioned his whole mission as the Big Protector.

The first date/hunt Dean and Cas had in 5x03, is a very nice memory for Dean, because he was happy and having a good time with CAS there.

In 5x14 "My bloody Valentine", the only thing/person Dean showed interest was Castiel, going to a hunt with him again and seeing him acting like the weird, dorky, little guy he is, should brought Dean good memories from their first hunt together.

The emptyness Dean have inside, pointed by Famine, is one another huge point for the following events, and later will be filled with Love.

Hello my dear, how are you? This is the last Destiel Chronicle from season 5!!!

I want to say thank you to my friend @agusvedder , she made the gifs of this meta!

There's not much Destiel as it was by the beginning and first half of this season because it was kind of Sam/Dean centric with the whole BROTHERS FIGHT in this Apocalypse, but I will try to explain here the dynamic between Dean and Cas from the lasts episodes.

Let's start...

Almost human

In episode 5x21 "Two Minutes to Midnight" Cas called Dean from a hospital after vanished those angels outside the green room, putting his life in risk.

DEAN: We all thought you were Dead. Where the hell are you, man?

CASTIEL: A hospital.

DEAN: Are you okay?

CASTIEL: No.

DEAN: You want to elaborate?

CASTIEL: I just woke up here. The doctors were fairly surprised. They thought I was brain-dead.

This was an awkward situation, an angel in a hospital. He almost died... Seeing Castiel being fragile... Was something new... But the most weird was the following...

DEAN: It's a long story, but, look --we're going after Pestilence now. So if you want to zap over here...

CASTIEL: I can't "zap" anywhere.

DEAN: What do you mean?

CASTIEL: You could say my batteries are -- are drained.

DEAN: What do you mean? You're out of angel mojo?

Castiel was almost human... And the most interesting thing of this bad news was, being almost human made him understand Dean, his humanity, and his failures, his weakness. That's why Castiel decided to apologise...

Cas continued exploring the human misery and the lack of his angelical powers, by missing it.

In this scene, is time for CAS to share and understand Bobby's lost. And is so interesting because, in the middle of this hard situation, Cas was able to connect not just with Dean's humanity and weakness, but with Bobby too.

No Faith

Jumping to episode 5x22 "Swan Song", we have a faithless Castiel, who had lost any hopes in survival. There was a scene, a funny one, but full of hidden symbolism, when Sam requested Cas to take care of Dean and Bobby...

SAM: Take care of these guys, okay? 

CASTIEL: That's not possible. 

SAM: Then humor me. 

CASTIEL: Oh. I was supposed to lie. Uh... Sure. They'll be fine. 

SAM: Just – just stop... talking. 

Cas is still faithless, but he is still side by side with Bobby and Dean. He talks cruel reality to everyone. And that's annoying, mostly for our Dean... Sam had being till then the one that kept the faith, but now is Dean who's trying to do that, to keep fighting. That's why he reacted so violently against Castiel's lack of hopes.

The inactivity coming from CAS and Bobby drives Dean crazy and he came out with all his bad qualities. Being mean, and sassy. He needed to keep fighting, believing in his brother.

Castiel's honest and hard words made Dean take a deadly decision. He will find that field and try to stop the Apocalypse.

Cas, are you God?

When the battle was over, and Sam had jumped inside the cage with Lucifer and Michael, the image of a defeated Dean occupied the whole scene. He was grieving, kneeled, maybe praying? At that moment Cas appeared in front of him. And it was like a light of hopes shinning again... That's why Dean asked that classic question...

No, Cas wasn't God (although not in this season... 😏) But he was lighting his hopes again. And healing him. And reliving Bobby too.

When they were on the car, Castiel could sense Dean's feelings...

Castiel tried to clarify the storm Dean had inside...

But that phrase was, again, hard honesty, proper from Castiel. Dean couldn't answer.

But another thing I noticed was Castiel disappearing again. Without saying goodbye. He wasn't offended. He was talking about coming back to Heaven, that was a little hard to swallow for Dean, after Castiel's decision to rebel against them for him. And then he came out with that hard question . But we will know in the next season, Cas was to Hell to rescue Sam. Just beacuse Dean needed him.

And Dean feeling maybe misunderstood by Cas. He was crying the Lost of his brother, and Cas didn't stay with him. "Well, you really sucks at goodbyes, you know that?" Dean felt abandoned by his best friend. And with the guilt of his brother being in hell, he tried to fulfill Sammy's desire for him to honored him, and he went to see Lisa.

To conclude

Castiel could understand Dean's decisions and humanity when he became an almost human. That helped him a lot. Cas was till faithless and was honest with Dean the whole time, even if reality was hard to accept.

Dean was the one keeping his faith and fighting till the end.

Castiel coming back to life was the renewed hopes and faith for Dean, asking him if he was God was a foreshadow for Season 6 (Godstiel) and the demonstration of Dean keeping his hopes.

The "goodbye" in the car maybe made Dean feel kind of abandoned by his best friend in the middle of his grieving. Dean will try to fulfill Sam's desires for him, just because he felt a huge guilt.

Hello my friends! How have you been? This is a new volume from my chronicles... We are getting to the end of season 5!

In this volume I will talk about the first big Destiel fight we have.

5x02 foreshadowing the Destiel fight

When Castiel arrived to the Hospital, one of the most important things he Didi there, was talk with Dean about his plan of kill the devil.

CASTIEL: Your plan to kill Lucifer.

DEAN: Yeah. You want to help?

CASTIEL: No. It's foolish. It can't be done.

DEAN: Oh. Thanks for the support.

This was a foreshadow of what we will see in episode 5x18 (Point of not return) in which we will have our first big Destiel fight. Dean having a crazy plan here TO KILL THE DEVIL not supported by Castiel. The same situation will be settled when Dean decide to say yes to Michael to kill the devil (crazy plan) and of course, won't be supported by the angel.

CASTIEL: But I believe I have the solution. There is someone besides Michael strong enough to take on Lucifer. Strong enough to stop the apocalypse.

He was referring here to his plan to find God. All his hopes are on this... To find God. Castiel is determinated to do this. But Dean isn't that sure. So they started a little discussion about it... That ends like this...

DEAN: I mean, look around you, man. The world is in the toilet. We are literally at the end of days here, and he's off somewhere drinking booze out of a coconut. All right?

CASTIEL: Enough. This is not a theological issue. It's strategic. With God's help, we can win.

DEAN: It's a pipe dream, Cas.

Castiel lose it. And he confront Dean, snapping as always truth without anesthesia. Even Sam is feeling bad for these words, but he is being honest, and he can't handle Dean's lack of faith.

Bigger and more painful, will be the fight they will have... But this scene was like a prelude.

Castiel lost his faith and hopes... So Dean lost them too.

Now... Coming back to Dark side of the moon... Remember the dialogue Sam and Dean had with Joshua in Paradise? Pay attention to these words...

DEAN: So he’s just going to sit back and watch the world burn?

JOSHUA: I know how important this was to you, Dean. I’m sorry.

DEAN: (emotional) Forget it. Just another dead-beat dad with a bunch of excuses, right. I’m used to that. I’ll muddle through.

JOSHUA: Except… you don’t know if you can, this time. You can’t kill the Devil, and you’re losing faith, in yourself, your brother, and now this? God was your last hope. I just… I wish I could tell you something different.

Joshua repeats what Castiel said in 5x02 and also he describes Dean's depression and lack of faith. Finding God wasn't his last hopes. It was CASTIEL'S HOPES. And because Castiel is canonically Dean's faith and hopes, his last lighting candle was that. Because he was losing any other chances... But Castiel kept his faith. And Dean counted on it.

But now... Delivering this news to CAS... Will end in something that will finish with any hopes Dean could have. And it took a big part in Dean's determination to say yes to Michael.

Cas is in negation. He needs to give excuses. He needs to know that's a lie. Because he is feeling he will lose any chance, and any hopes.

But this is the cruel truth.

Dean watches Castiel in such a shape, and he is heartbroken. Seeing Cas like this is the bottom of the bottle. His hopes (Cas) not having faith. That's the end for him. And he also feels so sad for CAS... Because he knows what is to have "daddy issues". And he cares about him.

The lack of faith and the friendship

5x17 "99 problems" presented us Dean already decided to say yes to Michael.

But before we get to this... The episode also gave us a depressed Castiel, drunk and in a bad mood, trying to handle with his deceptions.

Dean continued watching his friend fell to the bottom. But he tried to offered him his shoulder...

This is such a cute scene, because Dean, being so faithless and hopeless, he tried to make Castiel feel better. Because he can't see him like this. Defeated. Cas is the badass angel that is always fighting... And now he is just there, drunken and sad... Very depressing... In his own words...

The episode finished with Dean killing the whore. Remembering that just a servant of Heaven could do that... So yes. Dean had already taken his decision.

And he decided to visit Lisa before losing everything. He had lost his faith in everyone. In everything... But he had this cute memory... Kind of pure... Of what a family should be... So he went with Lisa. And she and Ben will become his refuge when everything ends.

The fight

Episode 5x18 "Point of not return" was full of "diamonds" as a figures. This represents symbolically being in troubles and trying to take the better decision. To be careful and think well the solution. So it was accurate with Dean. He was wrong. But he was decided to say yes to Michael.

And Castiel was mad at him. Very mad. He couldn't believe after everything he did for him, he was about to throw thing to the trash can, as nothing. Oh yes, he was very very upset with him. That's why he was very sassy with Dean.

And Dean was very sassy back with him too... Even if seeing Castiel angry was kind of delightful... We can see this just watching Dean's reaction to CAS angry face. Yes. Hot.

Castiel wasn't in a good mood...

The fight was so serious, and Dean was so determinated, that he even made a sigil to get rid from Castiel's watch.

Later, Dean will have a painful angelical lesson...

The fight become physical, and Castiel is so disappointed, that he threw what he was feeling inside. All his efforts, were pointless. He gave everything, for nothing, parallel settled with that little fight at the beginning of the season as I described in this meta.

Dean is hopeless... He gives up. He is wishing Castiel to finish with it. With his suffering. But Castiel wouldn't do that. They are still friends... After all.

By the end of the episode, Castiel had lost his faith in Dean, but Sam was still hoping his brother made the right decision.

Dean was amazed with Castiel's suicidal decision, and his words were so painfully honest again (not mention the way he was checking him again... Angry Cas is hot) but mostly, these words and Sammy faith on him, will make Dean to desist his plans. (The diamonds symbolism took place here.)

To conclude

5x02 was a foreshadow for CAS and Dean's big fight in 5x18.

Because Castiel represents Dean's faith and hopes, seeing him defeated made Dean lost the last hopes he had.

Dean was depressed and he didn't see other way out but to say yes to Michael.

The reintroduction of Lisa was a symbolically representation of a nice and good memory Dean had about what a family should be. He had lost faith in his brother, in Cas and in himself. So his only refuge, his only "dream out of his disastrous life" was Lisa.

The first big Destiel fight became physical, because Castiel was so mad at him, he had given everything for him, and Dean was now betraying him.

By the end of the episode 5x18 Dean made the right choice, helped by Castiel's hard words and Sammy faith in him.

Hello my friends, here we are now starting season 5 with this Destiel Chronicles.

I want to give special thanks to @agusvedder because she made the gifs for this meta here and discussed with me the episode. Thanks girl! 😘💕

Ok..

I can't believe you're gone

When Dean and Sam were on Earth again, one of the first things Dean said was WE NEED TO FIND CAS.

He knew they weren't alone now, they had a strong Ally be their side. And he was proud of it.

But when they arrived to Chuck's place... Reality hit him.

Castiel was dead... He couldn't believe it... He helped him to save his brother and try to stop Lucifer and now he was dead... He gave his life for them...

He try to give an excuse, because he didn't want to hear the truth.

But then... This happened...

That was the proof. Castiel was really dead. Because of him...

Look at Dean's face, he swallowed hard, and he looked to a side, with sadness.

Dean is trying to handle with that pain. Why? If you were going to help us? Why are you dead??

And then Zachariah arrived... With a very manipulative speech again, Dean didn't bought those words and immediately used the sigil to send them far away from there.

And he proudly said...

Giving honor to his friend.

Ruby/Sam as an early Destiel mirror

Aaand this is dedicated to my friend @poorreputation , she was always screaming about this mirror, and well... Here I found this example. Enjoy this gift girl.

When Dean and Sam were in the motel, Sam brought amulets...

SAM: Here. Hex bags. No way the angels will find us with those. Demons, either, for that matter.

DEAN: Where'd you get it?

SAM: I made it.

DEAN: How?

So yeah... Dean learned the sigil from CAS... And Sam from Ruby, a demon he was sexually attracted... Nothing to see here... 😏

Another thing I want to point here, not about Ruby, but about Meg... This happened too in this episode

Meg, the female demon, kissed Dean. I just want you to keep this image, because later on this season we will have an almost kiss between Castiel and her... You know about the indirect kiss, don't you? 😏💕 (May I point here that in season 6 CAS and Meg actually KISS EACH OTHER? Ok. Nothing to see here 2.0)

42, a very meaningful number...

They went straight to find "the sword of Michael" to the storage of John Winchester...

And here is the thing about 42, has a couple of VERY INTERESTING MEANINGS. And I will share it with you...

Is the answer to the meaning of Life, the Universe and everything, and that's because Douglas Adams wrote a book named "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" in which he told the story about aliens that build a robot/machine and the machine answered 42 when they asked about the meaning of life. Of course that was a mistake from this robot, and everything was like a kind of joke. That could be related to this lie angel constructed to get to Dean and Sam. They thought they were going to find the solution for their problems with Lucifer, but they found a joke. A trap.

Talking about biblical numbers, the 42 is the number of the Antichrist... His evil efforts will last 42 months in the end time: "Then the angel gave me a measuring rod like a staff, saying, "Arise and measure the temple of God, and the altar . . . and they shall trample upon the holy city for forty-two months" (Revelation 11:1 - 2) I know we had an Antichrist later in this season, remember? But the Bible talks about the devil here, so ... Accurate with the storyline.

Ohhhhh and here comes the jam... It is too the atomic number of one element named molybdenum, you can say why the hell I'm so excited about this thing? Because if you If you go through molybdenum with light, a rainbow is born. And... You know... Dean was the molybdenum here because...

Yes! There's the light, the light from Castiel going though Dean's heart, giving born a beautiful rainbow of love 😏💕. Are you impressed with your angel Dean? He surely is happy to see him alive... And healthy...

Castiel is back, and he will protect the WINCHESTERS with his life. He carved in their bones a enochian protection against Angels. There he is, the strong Ally of humanity.

When Dean and Sam asked him about why he was alive, Cas just flew away, and the search of God began.

To conclude:

Dean couldn't believe Castiel was dead, and he could see the pain and the guilt in his face. A very early reaction to Castiel's death.

The dark relationship between Sam and Ruby, both of them sexually attracted to each other, was one of the first Destiel mirrors in the show.

The number 42 was an Easter Egg in my reading full of meanings for our delight.

The camera was focused on Dean the whole time Castiel appeared fighting as the bamf!angel of the Lord he was back then. On Dean. Focused on Dean. Again. On purpose.

Cas is now the strong Ally of the WINCHESTERS, a fallen angel, and he will protect them with his life.

Ally... Protector... Best friend... And something else... (Part I)

Hi dear Fandom! I'm here again bringing you a new volume from my Destiel chronicles.

I want to say thank you to my dearest friend @agusvedder she made the gifs for this meta and discussed with me these topics! Thank you girl! 😘💕

But let's start...

Ally

In 5x03 "Free to be you and me" Dean and Cas team up to hunt Raphael.

Dean discovered Castiel's lack of touch for get information. And in an almost "paternal" gesture, he fixed Cas tie and shirt. Trying to teach him the basics...

I will talk about the "first date" with CAS in other volume, here I want to show you how they worked together to get Raphael.

First of all, they found the vessel in the hospital. Cas sent a message to the Archangel, and I want you to pay attention to Dean's reaction while watching his friend being such a badass...

He likes to see Castiel this way. He likes his badass side, his bossy side. He is proud of it. And he likes it. We can read all of that from his face, full of amazement.

So after they track down the Archangel, Dean follow Cas and he mentioned something... Hoping Cas catch an inner joke between them. You know, as friends.

And then we had this scene... Such a badass Castiel too...

And Dean following him, I could say I little proud of his friend's fierceness.

One of the last moments from 5.10 in which Lucifer was trying to wake up Death, with Sam and Dean trapped there... Showed us how Castiel is a "good timing" Ally. He appeared in the best moment and rescued his friends.

He was trapped by Lucifer and Meg bc Lucifer knew he will be a problem... He was a strong and determinated Ally of the Winchesters.

Protector

In the episode 5x13 "The song remains the same" Castiel blocked Anna intentions to get an encounter with the Winchesters...

CASTIEL: Hello, Anna.

ANNA: Well. If I didn't know any better...

ANNA turns around.

ANNA: I'd say the Winchesters don't trust me.

CASTIEL: They do. I don't. I wouldn't let them come.

Castiel is protecting Sam and Dean from Anna, he suspects she has bad intentions... Bc he knows well Heaven and his techniques...

He is acting like a truly Guardian Angel of the Winchesters.

CASTIEL: If you're out of prison, it's because they let you out. And they sent you here to do their dirty work.

ANNA: And what makes you so sure?

CASTIEL: Because I've experienced...heaven's persuasion.

Castiel began to confirm his suspects over Anna. When he sees her armed, recalling Anna intentions were to be face to face with Sam and Dean.

CASTIEL: If you're not one of them, then what do you want?

ANNA: I want to help.

CASTIEL: You want to help?

ANNA: Yes.

CASTIEL: Then what are doing with that knife?

A long pause. ANNA draws the knife.

ANNA: I'm not allowed to defend myself?

CASTIEL: Against whom? That blade doesn't work against angels. It's not like this one.

Castiel is good on this. He gets the idea right away. He should be relieved he didn't let Sam and Dean to come.

Then... Suddenly Anna revealed her truly intentions.

ANNA: Sam Winchester has to die.

She explained Sam is Lucifer's vessel so she needs to finish him. Castiel tries to convince her that killing Sam wouldn't solve the problem. And finally, he quoted TFW "prime law"

CAS: We will find another way.

When Anna saw Castiel defending the WINCHESTERS with such loyalty, she knew he had changed a lot.

Castiel choose another path. He already choose Humanity and choose to be the Winchesters's Ally.

This is the episode in which TFW is born, beacuse by the end of it, we had Dean naming their alliance...

Best friends (part 1)

I'm gonna divide this one in two part bc it will take a lot of gifs and explanations... So... Please be patient! In the middle at volume I will finish talking about BEST FRIENDS topic and SOMETHING ELSE.

Ok, let's see then, continuing with episode 5x13, before they traveled time, Castiel explained the boys Anna had bad intentions, and wanted to kill Sam.

Again Castiel lack of pop culture as an impediment to understand the conversation, but Dean explains this time...

DEAN: No one, just this psycho bitch who likes to boil rabbits.

But Sam is kind of considering the offer...

SAM: So the plan to kill me, would it actually stop Satan?

DEAN: No, Sam, come on.

And then Dean looked at CAS with despair, trying to get from him some help. Castiel felt he could use Dean's reference again...

This, my friends, is improvement of character thanks to the beautiful friendship TFW started to develop.

After coming back from Croatan world in 5x04 "The End" , (episode I will talk in my next volume) Dean was so worried about the huge change he had seen in his friend, that after being rescued by Castiel from Zachariah, he observed that was his nerdy angel... So we had this classic Destiel scene...

This is Dean, shocked by the endverse!Castiel version he saw... Trying to preserve the present Cas, with his whole lack of pop culture...

In 5x06, the episode that talks about the Antichrist, the little boy transformed Cas into a wood figure. Dean asked him to return him to his truck form, but the kid didn't want to, he said there they weren't friends... But by the end of the episode, Dean came back to insist...

Here, Dean is in aknowledgment about what Cas had become in their lives... Kind of buddy? Kind of friend? He is trying to figure out what Cas means to him. He saw the future in which they seemed be more than friends, and he is aware he enjoys Castiel's company differently to the way he will enjoy expending time with just a friend... So... Kind of buddy... Yes... He just needs to know what the hell that means...

To conclude

Castiel is a powerful Ally the Winchesters had. He is loyal and protective, he is the Winchesters's guardian angel.

He had rebel for them and he will protect them with his life.

This was the season where TFW is mentioned for the first time, and Castiel quoted their prime law in the same episode.

He also is the best friend they will ever had, Castiel's mission. But with Dean there's something more, something else, that is always present there... Even when they had "friend time" there's always something else going on between the angel and the older hunter.

(6x01/6x02)

Hello my friends! How have you been? We are here with another Destiel Chronicle, with the second part of a mostly "Dean meta centric" trying to understand why Dean stayed with Lisa and Ben.

I will talk about each one (including Castiel, because I truly believe there was a mirror in 6x02 of him, like a foreshadow for the Destiel bickering/fight that lead us later to the big break up.

Ok, let's start with this...

Dean and his big daddy issues with Ben

It was obvious for me 6x02 talked about THE DAD WAS THE MONSTER, in this case, the shape shifter that took the father's place in the family, had sex with the mom and collected his son after that... This was a blantant foreshadow for 6x05 "Live free of die twihard", when Dean becomes a vampire and goes to see Lisa and Ben. (The monster was the father).

In episode 6x02, Dean saw Ben grabbing one of his weapons. And his reaction was very hard because he was recalling the way John had raising Sam and him.

Dean's facial expressions is "fear", he is afraid Ben could become like him, because deep inside he disapproves the way John had raised them. Guns shouldn't be for kids.

So, the fears to become his own father, is with him the whole episode. The episode in which "the father was the monster", that attacked the family.

And this feeling is translated into this particular scene...

Sam says the baby's name is John but Dean... Named him Bobby, very very interesting, and as reference, we had Dean is thoughtful about how John had raised them. And now as a father, he is with the authority to speak. And he came to the conclusion John wasn't a good father to them. And he doesn't want to repeat his failures. And he is now... Like mad at him, in some way, that's why he names Bobby as their true father. Bobby was with them when John wasn't. And he keeps taking care of them and loving them like a father. Not the blood father, but a heart father, as he is now for Ben.

By the end of episode 6x01, when Dean decides to stay with Lisa and Ben, the camera shows the Lisa's garden, and is full of lavanda flowers.

The lavanda means "feminity and refinement", is obviously talking about Lisa... And if you pay attention to the following episodes, Lisa dresses in lavanda color... This is important you keep in mind because I will talk about it in the nexts chronicles, but you see... Even if you don't like Lisa, she was very supportive with Dean's decisions and Dean's hunter behavior. When she confronted him about Ben, she chooses a very comprehensive words to him.

Look behind Lisa, the lavanda color again. But mostly, the way she talks with Dean, always supportive and comprehensive.

When Dean saw he put them in danger, as I described in the previous chronicle, Lisa allowed to go to Bobby's place, and when she saw Dean was doubting about being with them as a family, she was afraid she was going to loose him.

She was afraid, because as she will say later in this season, she knew that if Sam was back, Dean's hunter life was back too.

Then she came with a plan ... She offers Dean to hunt and to come with them, but Dean got the wrong message at first... Or it was because he wanted deep inside to leave them? Because it was better that way?

Maybe because deep inside Dean thinks he doesn't deserve a normal life... And maybe because he misses the hunt, and traveling with his brother, the only living way he knows...

The security system that doesn't work

Episode 6x02 talked about security systems that didn't work protecting the families. Related to Dean desperate race to protect Lisa and Ben. And the failure in the system, another foreshadow for the "vampire!Dean" episode.

But let's talk about how Dean was behaving with Lisa and Ben, because it was obvious he didn't want to act like his father, but he ended by doing the same. And Sam tells him.

So, again, Dean becoming what he hates... Sadly. He should know his father was in the same predicament... He needs to understand a father sometimes tries to do his best.

And what about Cas?

I really believe season 6 started to use more the visual narrative and coded colors, as we saw with Lisa. But not just that. If you watch the episode 6x01, Dean started using a dark brown coat, as a representation of family life. But when he goes to hunt again, he uses his usual green and blue coats. And I don't want to be very detailed, but, if this is truth and I could collect evidence by now that it is, then blue is representing Castiel. And the bag Dean prepares is blue the same as his whole wardrobe. He's in entirely dressed in blue. And the house where he's living with Lisa, is blue and green. But let's say this is too much, and I'm over seeing things... But I guess I'm not.

So... When Dean offers to communicate with CAS... This is what he obtained from Sam...

In episode 6x01 Sam told Dean Cas wasn't responding his prayers... And Dean's face is eloquent. He is surprised to heard that. That tells us he didn't try to contact Cas for one entire year, his brother did, but Cas didn't come.

This, plus the way they "didn't say goodbye" in 5x22, it tells me Dean isn't going to be happy with him. So... Is hard for him discovering Cas didn't come to help Sam. Then... In episode 6x02... I discovered this mirror... Mark (one of the Campbell's) was dressed in blue, and he was "eye fucking" Dean, so evident. So... My friends... This is CAS here... And look what Dean is telling him...

"eye fucking" Dean? And Dean reacting like that? Yeah, Cas... You didn't came to see my brother, you didn't say goodbye, you didn't came to visit me? Yeah... Keep thinking at me.

Dean is offended with Castiel, but this is topic for the next Chronicle...

To conclude

Dean and his daddy issues are important topic at the beginning of the season. He tried hard not to become John, but he failed.

Lisa was supportive and patient with Dean, and she was afraid of loosing him, because she could read Dean's insecurities.

The security system of the houses failing and the "monster father", was a foreshadow for Vampire!Dean, that will lead us later to Lisa and Dean break up.

Season 6 started to use more visual narrative and colors.

Dean was starting to feel mad at Castiel's behavior towards his brother. And this will be more evident in the following episodes.
